This is one of several reviews I will be doing of various gins.I have something of a gin habit and rather geekily score gins for both g&t and martini on a spreadsheet (I mix 1:5 with a twist of lemon, well I don't mix it myself thats what husbands are for ) . I score out of ten and I give my go to gin (Bombay London) a 5 out of 10 to act as a baseline to judge against. We score more than once so I get an idea of how they taste over different times and occasions. Please remember these scores are personal and what I like you might not.So on to BathtubG&T 5/10Martini 1/10 (this really doesn't make a good martini)The G and T is nice and refreshing but it doesn't really have anything that sets itapart from other gins. For the martini we paired it with Noilly Pratt and we really didn't like it at all. It had a very anticeptic taste. All in all Bathtub makes a nice g&t but in my opinion isn't worth its high price.

I first tried Bathtub Old Tom gin a year ago, when I bought it on a lightning deal. I'm not sure if that was a good or a bad thing, as since then I've gone on a bit of a gin journey (translated: I've drunk too much gin and have bought too many bottles!), so this one has a lot to answer for!Fast forward a year and another bottle has just landed on the doorstep. A shame that this only comes in 50cl bottles, because this is a simply fabulous gin. It has a yellow tinge and a whole host of botanicals which gives it a slightly sweet edge. Perfect with a good tonic and a wedge of lime, it's one of my favourites for sure and I have to say,it edges the standard Professor Cornelius Ampleforth's Bathtub gin.

My wife and I have, over the last year or two, taken a shine to gin since its renaissance as a craft item. We have tried numerous small batch and craft gins since then. On a friend's suggestion we decided to try Ableforth's Bathtub gin and were absolutely delighted by it.It managed to be big and bold on the palate with warming spice notes but simultaneously very floral! Subtle citrus alongside a big juniper hit makes this delicious. It really goes well with premium tonic waters or citrus hinted tonics. This is going to be a repeat guest in my drinks cabinet.Plus the brown paper, string and wax top all make it look very appealing too

I'll admit, I am not a gin drinker so am no expert. In fact I do not usually like gin at all! However I was given some of this and what can I say, it's not too bad!As I get older I find no longer do I like the sweet, youthful "party" drinks. This does have other flavours mixed in (many the same as found in chai tea) - as another review says its quite "flowery", but its not too sweet or overpowering. Over ice it is just about the right mix of flavours to make a nice refreshing drink. The important question, would I buy myself? Yes, but maybe when it's on a deal and a bit cheaper. Would also make a good present!

Purchased when on offer, paid £25 which is superb value. Often is on sale for much more.Bottle design is great with the paper overlay, adds a Victorian chemist feel to the experience.Gin itself is vibrant, juniper notes really come through. Very smooth....and utterly delicious.I would not suggest mixing with a favoured tonic, stick to a standard plain such as Fever Tree. Garnish with lemon and a few ice cubes. Some thoughts on how to mix, my preferred is 1/3rd Gin 2/3rds Tonic.Would make a great gift for a fan or for anyone seeking an upgrade from Gordons.

I bought this for my husband for his birthday last week, and it went down really well!!He is a Gin drinker, as I used to be, and after having sampled this, I can honestly say, I have never tasted a nicer Gin!!It's flowery, but not over powering, and the taste is so smooth, it is simply the BEST gin ever!!I don't mind the cost, as I know its appreciated and it makes a superb present, as it is so different, eveyone that sampled it at our house is now hooked!!Gorgeous bottle too!!Will be buying this again and again!!So glad I found this!!

A lovely gin. If, like me, you're a fan of gins like Sipmith's and Anno (a very nice gin) then this'll be right up your street. I usually mix my gin with standard Fever Tree tonic water, ice (of course) and a squeeze of lime. I've found that the lime actually inhibits the flavour/botanicals of this Bathtub Gin so I've taken to drinking it with just ice and tonic. (If anyone has any other mixing ideas I'd gladly give them a try?)If you're after something different and special - give this gin a try...you won't be disappointed.

Got a few good craft gins in the Man Cave & finally opened this last night to sample (you have to remove the waxy seal that covers the cork stopper....I used a knife to score around the top about an inch down) and it's very nice with a decent mixer (or neat purely for review purposes). Interesting looking bottle with the cardboard looking gift wrap which is one reason I bought it. Like another reviewer said you can't really see how much is in the bottle....not that that's important. Good gin to add to your collection.

A friend bought me a bottle of this Gin for my birthday and I absolutely love it.It is a lovely smooth gin, great taste of juniper berries and goes great with an elderflower tonic.A word of warning, its very strong!! And as the bottle is wrapped in paper you gauge how much is left in the bottle very easily (gutting when you fancy a nice large glass and only a dribble is left!).Will definitely be ordering another bottle soon - the Amazon price is currently much cheaper than Asda too.

I bought this as an Xmas present for my adult daughter who then went back to university and LEFT IT BEHIND IN HER BEDROOM! It’s february now and so far I’ve managed to resist cracking it open and drinking it but I’m not sure how much longer that state of affairs will continue. I’ve rated it 5* for flavour but to be honest, that’s in my imagination....it’s been staring at me for weeks and I may have built it up too much in my head. Looks great though.

Absolutely beautiful Gin. The best I've had! The subtle winter spices (cloves, cinnamon, cardamom) really elevate this drink. It's perfect on its own with ice and a few orange peel shavings, or add some tonic too. I even tried it with Coca-cola... heresy! But the spicy, warm notes really complimented the mixer in a way that most other gins would never be able to.Beautifully packaged as well - definitely a keeper!

I'm no Gin drinker but even I found this quite enjoyable. My good lady is the ginster and having discovered Hendricks last year, I thought I'd get her this as it had good reviews on some other sites. It didnt dissapoint. Slight cinnamon taste makes it better than your standard dry gin and its very classically packaged which makes it even appear "special" from the outside. If you like gin, this is well worth a try.

Hmmm, was excited about getting this Gin on the lightning deal for £21l..have resisted opening it until now, all of about 10 days! It's a nice Gin, but way more subtle than I expected. Yes, I can taste the cardamom, cinnamon and orange, but it's very subtle, and is generally not as Gin-ny tasting as I would have hoped for my palate. Definitely only mix it with a quality tonic if you use a mixer, would be my tip!

I saw this listed on the Amazon Black Friday deals, and saw that Amazon customers also bought Monkey 47 Gin (the best gin in the WORLD!), and that was all the convincing I needed. Not as good as Monkey 47, but a great, very enjoyable drink - and at the price in the flash sale it was a bargain!(I have since seen it quite well reduced on Amazon, so if you are patient you will probable get a great deal)

Delicious Gin. Unfortunately it is a self-refilling bottle. How very rude that I will have to purchase some more. My partner and myself love trying a range of gin's so couldn't resist this after hearing about it and getting rave reviews. well we can only echo that, its also reflected in the short time it took us to polish off the bottle! Go and support a small business today and treat yourself!
