Instead of spending £300 on a new PS3 pay £100 for an old one buy this hard drive for £40 spend five minutes replacing the original 60GB hard drive and you are left with a system that is not only faster than your mates PS3 but future proof as well. All you have to do is lift off the plastic cover undo one screw slide out the old hard drive, undo the four retaining screws from the sleeve and screw in this bad boy, then reverse the procedure and you are ready to rock'n'roll!! Faster spin speed than a standard PS3 hard drive means faster loading times between screens of saved data or your various online gaming profiles. This is totally awesome and you've just saved yourself close to £200 into the bargain.

I bought this drive a while back to replace a bigger but slower drive in my new laptop, I have not managed to install it yet as it needs to be preinstalled with a SATA driver with Win 7 (can't even load Vista on it) - seemingly impossible task without an actual Win 7 disk and a floppy drive so, I have no comment to make about it's faster revs at this time.

This was a very good purchase and it has served me well, it is much faster than the old drive I had and when you now look at the cost of the same drives I am sure glad that I purchased this when I did. it arrived earlier than expected so I am very pleased with the overall purchase and will be back for more.
