I purchased a 2TB drive for two reasons: 1) I had outgrown my old one and 2) I want a hot spare in case my main drive dies for some reason. I back up regularly but it will take a long time to re-install my work suite. The new drive installed easily as I had an extra slot in my desktop (still running Windows 7). I needed to borrow a SATA power supply lead from an unused computer and a few screws to mount the new drive - that is why you keep the old ones around. I did not see it in my available drives when I first booted (I am not a computer geek) but quickly realised that it was there but just needed to be formatted (could see the new SATA drive in "Device Manager").

This 5Tb 15mm drive fits inside my Mac Mini late 2012 with a Samsung 850 EVO SSD, and an OWC dual drive kit. Follow the iFixIt instructions for replacing the IR sensor as you need to disassemble all the way down to the plastic frame that holds the disk. You need to install it with the shield from the original drive but without the mounting screws, electronics side towards the bottom maintenance cover. The SSD then goes on the bottom (remember that the Mac Mini is on its back as you work on it, so while open it's HDD down and SSD sitting on top of it, when back together and sitting as designed the HDD would be on the top with the SSD on the bottom). TL;DR below. Great drive for the price (2TB HDD model), and works as expected. However the packaging is below par for a mechanical drive like this, and so when it came though the letter box and and fell to the ground a meter below, it gave me a right fright.The packaging consists of cardboard and 1 layer of bubble wrap, and there is no fragile/handle with care sign on there at all, which may be why it was put through the letter box.Appart from the sub standard packaging, the drive works very well, and is easy enough to install (just the same as any other drive). It is also the standard 3.5 inch size, so there should be no compatibility issues in that regard. It is also relatively quiet for an HDD,

The product came packaged in a very nice foam which would protect the hard drive. The hard drive was also protected in a anti static bag which was a nice touch. Installation was simple and once installed the hard drives showed up as unformatted. I have been using it for a month now and have had no problems, just make sure to use rubber mounts when installing to reduce vibrations. This will also prolong the life of the hard drive.

Ideal product. Highly recommend.NOTE: If you are planning to use this as an external HDD, you need a caddy that accommodates 15mm thick drives. Having looked at many reviews for disk drives on Amazon there were many complaints about ones which were not properly boxed and for which manufacturers' warranties were invalid.Decided to pay more for a drive that was not an OEM version. When it arrived I checked the warranty on the Seagate website and it was valid.Drive installed without issue and has worked fine. Would definitely recommend.

Came in a bubble wrap parcel bag inside a static bag.Comes unformatted so if anyone doesn't know what to do, search for disk management and then find the drive. Right click it and select new simple volume and just keep clicking next, editing fields of you wish to do so. Then your drive should work.As for the format, search the system you're using to find out what's best for your use.

Does exactly what it says on the tin, plenty of space and does the job so far. 1 issue i have had is that it can take a bit of time installing games to it, especially via steam. It can take an age to allocate the disk space, but I just install the games on my SSD and then transfer them across which is infinitely quicker. Aside from gaming the speeds are dead on, no issues there.

Good stuff too bad I had to return it, it barely fit in the laptop, because the left side of laptop had a curve after installing and I did not wanted to damage it, it's almost twice as ticc as a regular 9mm one so if you are not Shure if it fits put 2hard drives on top of each other try close the lid on the laptop.

A neat little addition to any PC, the 2TB gives you the memory you want for, and at that size the RPM is perfect for using it for any gaming storage. I will be getting a larger capacity later for music/movies that doin't need the speed there, but overall I am glad for this newest addition to my system.

Bought this to replace an older Western Digital black HD (64MB cache) that failed after 6 years good service. This new drive runs faster than one of those drives mated to an SSD using AMDs StorageMI, even when running on its own. Obviously not a patch on a dedicated SSD but at this price who cares?

Bought to replace my 9 year old 1TB system HDD. I can highly recommend this, as it produced a Windows 10 operating system and software load-up speed increase, for my old Dell system, by 2x, making a smoother experience overall. Very happy customer indeed.

This is the perfect drive for upgrading the internal storage capacity on the Xbox upto 2TB, I followed a really instructional video from a chap called Andrew Paul and it worked 100% so glad as now all games just fit on the machine with no lack of storage.

Bought this after getting sick of filling up SSDs.After receiving, I loaded it with about 1.2TB of stuff, didn't take too long.Can play all the same games I did using SSD and haven't yet found it to be a bottle neck.also, it's green. I like green.

...which says it is doing what it should, no more no less. What else should it do?Comes wrapped in bubblepack which leaves one wondering if the Seagate label is genuine, but it works. I will let you know in a year if it stands the test of time.
