Over the year's, I've come to realise that anything bigger than 500GB can be more trouble than it's worth, even if you get a 1TB and split it. The safe way is to have 2 500GB drives rather than 1TB, because often if a partition on the 1TB goes down, it can often effect's the other, especially if it's the 1st partition. But with 2 500GB drives, if 1 goes down the other is separate of the other, so no problem. Overall the best solution would be a 500GB like this one, with high Rpm, for quicker access. As for external book's bigger than 500GB, I've had little problem, because as soon as it's done it's job, I turn it off. However remember that a drive,

I bought this Seagate SATA-3 drive to replace a smaller capacity one.Main intention being to store back ups of my GNS3 Cisco configurations as well as other I.T related things. Item arrived well packaged and was as described. Absolutely no issues at all. Works very well and lives up to Seagate's reputation of quiet operation under heavy disk operation. It is a fast drive and runs cooler(I checked using various utilities including Sea Tools) than previous Hitachi. I'd say it is on par with the likes of similar spec drives from HD giant WD but Seagate probably is quieter in general.

CCLComputers are the very best in my opinion. Trustworthy, they keep to their word, and the service they provide is brilliant. The hard drive I purchased from them is well worth the money, its performance is excellent & meets my requirements exactly. If I ever need a replacement hard drive in the future, I'll always settle for a Seagate Barracuda. This particular make of drive has more than proved its worth over the years. I bought it to match the existing hard drive in a new desktop computer so that I can backup the C: drive to this second drive every week in case the C: drive fails. There isn't anything to dislike about it, it is the same specification as the original drive. If I needed to replace a similar drive I wouldn't hesitate to buy another one.

This was a used 500Gb that on investigation had been booted less than 30 times and had low running hours logged. (I used Piriform's Speccy software to see the HD's SMART data. The disk is fine. Would recommend the seller.

This product was excellent and worked well until destroyed by home fire June 2011.Sadly despite my best efforts its carbonised carcass failed to deliver up the archive data it contained. No hard feelings

I bought this because my hard drive had had a bash, and was corrupted, so I cloned it. So far it's working well, and I am very pleased, as the alternative would have been to buy a new computer.

excellent product, as described, arrived promptly. very reasonable price. had seen it elsewhere for a tenner more. much better spec than the old hard drive it replaced. couldn't be happier.

Appears to be a good quality product even though it is refurbished. I can't comment on it's longevity only time will see but for CCTV recording use it is first class. Will buy again

Bought 4 of these, 3 of them have worked fine as you would expect but the 4th one developed the click of death after a couple of days so not too happy with that.
