I used an Osprey Talon this summer but after a few particularly sweaty treks decided to try the Salomon. It had better ventilation at the back due to less contact area and a central chimney running up the spine. It is also lighter and has more capacity. Other improvements over the Talon are the water bottle is held securely and doesn't fall out when chucking the pack into and out of luggage space, It has side access zips allowing you to easily get at stuff at the bottom of the pack. It is also comfortable to wear and fits snugly to the torso. Haven't tried it in torrential rain yet but I suspect it will not fair too well on that front, but since I hike mostly in good weather that is less of a concern.

I wanted a lightweight summer day hiking backpack with walking poles attachment + a proper hip belt (and in a nice vibrant colour!) and so far I have no regrets choosing this one. My Osprey 2.5 l hydration system fits nicely inside this bag, the size is perfect to I carry my waterproofs/fleece and snacks + all the additional pockets worked nicely to have my phone, mini camera etc easily accessible. I find it very comfortable to wear and even on hot days my back was nowhere near as wet as it is with my other hiking backpack I've. I also like that there are 2 sizes to choose from since being tall and having longer than average female torso I got a proper fit!Build quality and material seem good,
