Sally Hansen Colour Therapy Nail Polish - Exotic AcaiThe USP of this product is that it is not only a coloured nail polish but also a nail treatment at the same time - hence "colour therapy". I don't know what the scientific evidence is for the treatment claims nor how much of the headline argan oil is present in the product, so I'm therefore ignoring those claims (I didn't notice any benefits of wearing this nail polish) and will just say that it is a gorgeous, unusual colour that I really like.=== THINGS I LIKE ABOUT THIS PRODUCT ===* Gorgeous colour - a sort of dusty aubergine - and the whole range contains some quirky and beautiful colours* The online listing shows how the colour would look with different skin tones - a helpful guide* Large quantity of product (14.7 ml),making it good value* Nice fat brush that makes application easy=== NIGGLES ===* The whole "colour therapy" angle seems utter nonsense. Nail polish consists of a host of drying chemicals that will damage your nails and there are no details in the online listing for how this nail polish formula differs; for instance, there's no indication of how much argan oil it contains. Typically with any beauty product the headline ingredient is way down at the bottom of the list of ingredients and there's no scientific evidence that including it has any beneficial effects.* The polish definitely needs to be protected by a top coat; I found it chipped almost immediately* I would always wear a darker coloured nail polish with a base coat so the colour did not stain my nails, and that would of course negate any beneficial effects of the coloured nail polish. Perhaps you could use a treatment base coat and then slap any old nail polish range over the top of it so long as you liked the colour* The colour was quite streaky when applied in a single layer; two coats gave a good effect. (However, with the base coat and top coat, that did take quite a while to dry)For sale at the time of writing this review at

These nail varnishes from Sally Hansen aren't bad at all … I suppose it depends on what you are looking for. They are at the top end price wise that I would pay for a good quality nail varnish and they actually go on quite smoothly. In use they are not overly thick but do give a good coverage with two coats.I received three nail varnishes (Berry Smooth, Oh My Magenta and Powder Room) … for reviewing purposes.Berry Smooth …Is an incredibly bright hot pink - more suited to the young I think. I wouldn't wear this on my fingernails at my age (58), I would however wear it applied to just my toenails in the summer.Oh My Magenta …Is a rather lovely deep magenta which I would wear if I was going out in the evening to a function.Again I would wear this on my toenails in the summer.Powder Room …This is by far my favourite (although this one needs three coats) … it is a gorgeous silver pink which I would be happy to wear throughout the day on both my fingernails and toe nails. These nail varnishes also offer nourishment to your nails by way of Argan Oil. Whether this actually works or not is hard to quantify in this review as I haven't noticed any difference in nail quality during the three weeks I have been using these varnishes. The nail varnishes are easy to apply, although you do need to be careful not to put too much onto the brush otherwise it would could easily bleed onto the surrounding skin. I always use a good quality top coat after nail polish which helps to keep them from chipping ... after applying one of these nail varnishes and a top coat, I managed a good four days before I noticed small chips appearing along the tips of my nails. The bottle is well balanced and stands securely on a flat surface, the brush is of a decent width … two brush strokes covered my nail and it dries in about three minutes. It's a novel idea … a nail varnish that also cares for your nails and improves the condition.

"Sally Hansen Colour Therapy Nail Polish, 14.7 ml, Soothing Sapphire" is the deepest true blue within their range of colours. Ordered on behalf of a family member who uses, and needs to use, various treatments with the prime intention to harden her soft, dry nails (a consequence of long-term use of prescribed medication). This range is an all-in-one colour and treatment formulation as it includes moisturising argan oil. The user is brand-aware, presumably as a past user, rather than from advertising, promotions or other such activities although this is not the sort or colour that she seems most often to wear, typically light pinks and nudes, pastels etc.Argan oil is itself currently widely used by many brands for cosmetic purposes and was previously used for centuries in Morocco for that purpose but also as a dip and for culinary purposes, possibly as would be olive oil in Southern Europe. It is easily aborbed into the skin and other body tissues which is why it is often used in shampoos and skin treatments as a 'universal' conditioner; its use in nail varnish is probably less common. An attractive colour, the nail polish is essentially no different than any other, argan oil aside. A single coat may suffice if used within a design, otherwise two coats will give a smoother and deeper-toned finish. Several applications at roughly weekly intervals, whether of this colour or interchanging with others of the range, are presumed to be necessary to confirm that the argan oil is performing as intended. A standard nail polish remover, either liquid applied via a pad or the self-contained dip-and-wipe type, will be needed.Price-wise, the polish fairs well against top-end brands and generally compares favourably with many others. Its finish is very good while the range of colours currently available may be more limited than with some but there should be sufficient for most tastes.

I bought this a couple days ago because my old polish was getting really clumpy. I bought the color Unwine'd, which is the darkest of reds. I've never been allowed to wear red nail polish, so I am LOVING the color!! And it dried sooo fast so it doesn't look terrible and lumpy. And when I say dried, I mean hardened. I could hit my hand against a wall 30 mins after application and it would be just fine. I'm am quite pleased. I applied one coat, and the color was somewhat uneven, but even the patchier parts were still completely opaque. A second coat evened out the color quite nicely and made the mani look professionally done. This is literally the best manicure I have ever had because even the time that I went to a salon,I ruined it when I buckled my seatbelt like 20 minutes later. It does chip rather quickly, I have found, but I am not very careful with my hands, and I also didn't apply a base coat or top coat or wrap the tip of my nails, etc. Even then, I have found that it chips less than other nail polish formulas. Even other Sally Hansen formulas are inferior either because they dry super slowly (hard as nails) or they chip super fast (insta-dri). This nail polish is basically the best of both worlds in my opinion. As for staining, I did have to redo my index finger because half of it chipped off just 3 days in (the only finger to have chipped) and the part that chipped off was not stained, but the part that I took off with acetone was horribly stained. I also was wearing a dark red polish, so I pretty much expected that.Overall, I would definitely recommend it. I don't wear nail polish often, but I would buy this one again in the future.

My favourite shade of nail varnish was discontinued a couple of years ago, and I have been searching for a similar one ever since - especially one that doesn’t streak. I’ve found that the paler shades seem to have this problem the most. This colour – Oh My Magenta – is much darker than I would normally wear, but I was pleased with its performance. I applied it over a base coat to protect my nails from staining, and it was very good. The brush has one of the best shapes I’ve used; it picks up well, and the consistency of the liquid gave a good coverage with a single coat. The finish was a high gloss and it dried reasonably quickly. The chip-resistance depends on the conditions that our nails are subjected to,and in my experience - Sally Hansen is one of the best in preventing this. After five days of potting up plants, cleaning the hob, washing-up without gloves, etc., there are two tiny chips that are barely visible.I have tried Sally Hansen ‘Complete Salon Manicure’ polish recently, and was pleased with it - though I’m still searching for the right shade. This ‘Colour Therapy’ range contains Argan oil, which is beneficial for hair, skin, etc., but I can’t vouch for this because I use a base coat.My verdict is based on this darker shade – it’s the best I have tried for some time. I have ordered a paler shade ‘Pampered in Pink’, and I will report back on how that performs.

I am a huge nail polish fan. I can't wear gel as it just lifts so I am always on the lookout for good and lasting polish. This might just be the best you can buy! I say this for a number of reasons. As I say, I have tried them all, and all the top brands too. This, Orly Breathable, Artistic Colour Revolution and Essie Gel Couture are the best you can buy. However, Sally Hansen Colour Therapy beats them all and is the best of the best for the reasons I'll outline below.Firstly, this is a lovely rich colour, like shiny aubergine. It glides on the nail and two coats are perfect. All the colours are lovely but this is one of my favourites. The brush is wide and so it is really easy to apply perfectly, although you do need to be careful you don't flood your cuticle because the brush does hold a lot of polish. You don't need a base coat, only the colour and topcoat and you treat your nails with the accompanying cuticle oil.The colour dries very quickly and it is completely dry in about under 10 minutes. The two best features by far though which make it the stand out best polish in the world is that it lasts for absolutely ages, about 10 days without chipping! That is remarkable! But more than that, it nourishes your nails while it is on! You honestly can't beat this! My nails are strong and long and stunning since I have been wearing Sally Hansen Colour Therapy.

I am constantly on the look out for new nail varnish brands/colours and so was super excited to get this nail polish and try it out. (just so you are aware - I am an OPI girl at heart and so I am always comparing other brands to OPI).This colour is a very dark purple, in fact it almost looks black when applied. I used an OPI base coat before applying the first coat of this Sally Hansen polish. I immediately knew that I would need to apply a second coat as it was patchy in places, however, this is not unusual and so this did not put me off. The polish itself is relatively thick and the brush is large and so application is quick and easy. The polish dried in the standard amount of time following the second coat applicatoin and then I applied an OPI plumping top coat. I would say that it looked falwless for about 3 days before it started to chip. I am a busy mum and so I don't shy away from doing household chores because I have painted nails and so it needs to stand up to this test - this is the only reason that I have not given it 5 stars as I would have expected it to last a little longer than 3 days before requiring a touch up. However, for those that take better care of there manicured nails might find it does indeed last longer. All in all, happy with this product.

This nail varnish from Sally Hansen is a lovely deep blue, with almost a metallic sheen and comes in a very smart bottle. I must admit I was slightly disappointed with how the colour appeared on my nail to how it appeared in the bottle. It's a close match, but in the bottle it has a real depth of colour. It applied quite well. The brush holds a lot of colour so you need to make sure you get rid of the excess before applying. I did end up with some that bled onto my cuticles. It took two coats to get a lovely even colour, with one coat it was still a little streaky. The colour took a while to dry,it was still somewhat tacky to the touch after a few minutes on the second coat - something to bear in mind if you're looking to apply nail varnish in a rush (don't reach for this bottle).I didn't use base coat or top coat - I'm glad I didn't as I think I would have been waiting even longer for it to dry. It lasted well, 24 hours with only the slightest of chipping, so still very presentable. It removed easily from the nails but where it had caught on my cuticles they did have a blue tinge. As for the argan oil formula, that's a nice touch but I don't think I noticed any difference.Overall - very pleased, gorgeous colour that lasts well.

I bought the Sally Hansen Colour Therapy nail polish in Steely Serene. Along with the name, the photo makes it seem like it's a grey-ish shade, but the colour is actually more like milky coffee. I don't mind this discrepancy too much, as I love nude shades, but if you want a grey shade I'd go with something else. It's a good quality polish (Sally Hansen invariably is), but I find it has less staying power than the Salon Manicure range. It's also rather watery, which means you need a good 3 coats to get a smooth finish, especially if you're not bothering with a top coat. On the plus side, I love the shape of the brush,as you can get a single coat on with about 3 strokes. It shows blemishes and imperfections more quickly and easily than my Salon Manicure stuff - I'm not sure if this is down to the pale colour or because it's the argan oil formula. I put 2 coats on one afternoon and had a few mild smudges by the next day, so added a 3rd coat. It looks a lot better now.Overall I'd recommend it, as it's a lovely colour, but if you're the type who gets impatient waiting for it to dry or wants something that lasts longer than a few days, I'd say try the Salon Manicure range instead.

But now comes the polish... I’ve tried so many then I finally find nail therapy in rosy quartz! I’m madly in love with it and my nails look the best they have in a very long time!!!Today I bought the haute stone wasn’t sure if I was going to like the color but LOVE it!! I do a base coat, one color base and then a second to perfect even-ness. I finish with a top coat for added strength and color perseverance! I CANT SEE ANY GROVES with this polish!! Exotic AcaiThe nail polish comes in a generous 14.7ml glass bottle with screw top. The brush is flattened but the bristles are not shaped into an oval like many are these days.I'm using the Exotic Acai which is a very dark aubergine colour, just shy of being black. I've never worn one so dark and thought it probably wouldn't suit me but, worn with the same dark aubergine shade of jumper and deep purple sparkly scarf, this shade looked quite amazing. Being such a dark colour, I started off by putting a clear base coat on first as I thought it might stain or stick in my dreadfully flaky winter nails. I then applied one coat and it covered evenly without dragging or leaving brush strokes.I only needed the one coat and after ten minutes or so it was touch dry and looked beautifully thick and glossy. It's not as hard as gel nails and I did find that after a couple of days the nail ends had little chips and showed signs of wear, but as a standard nail polish (not a gel requiring LED light) it is very nice to use and looks and feels like a quality polish.

My wife really likes Sally Hansen products so she was very pleased to be able to try this Exotic Acai Colour Therapy nail polish from the brand as it is a colour she would not necessarily have chosen for herself. Exotic Acai is a dark purple colour nail polish and like the many other shades in this range the formula contains argon oil to nourish and add moisture for healthy looking nails. Having had a tough shellac coating recently my wife's nails needed a good quality varnish once the shellac had been removed and this Colour Therapy nail polish from Sally Hansen proved to be just what was needed and has given my wife's nails a very attractive look for very little effort. She really likes the flat brush which is easy to use and makes the application nice and fast, with two applications giving the best results. Exotic Acai is a good addition to this Sally Hansen range of traditional and modern colours which represent decent value at around nine pounds for a 14.7 ml (0.5 fl oz) bottle of therapeutic nail polish.

This is not my first time to try Sally Hansen nail polish but the first with added benefits like Argan Oil, it will take a while to discover how good it actually is for the nails. As for the polish itself, I received Oh My Magenta. I would describe it as a colour associated with old Hollywood stars, not for the shy unless used on the toes! The finish is creme with a lovely shine, two coats gave total cover and the polish leveled out on the uneven nail surfaces. If you like more muted shades this could be added as an accent colour on ring fingers or part of a nail art routine. In my experience Sally Hansen nail polish lasts really well, should this turn out to be any different I will edit my review.I like the brush for easy, even coverage but would love to see a wider opening on the top of bottle for wiping off excess polish therefore avoid flooding the cuticles. For a full size polish I think the price is fair and my only reason for deducting one star is down to the bottle opening.

I had given up on regular nail polish. The only time I would do my nails was with a gel manicure then remove, wait several weeks until my nails recovered from the removal process, then get another one. I love the Sally Complete nail polish but only use it for my pedicures as it lasts so long and is so easy to do (love the brush as well). I've been watching the reviews on the color therapy and decided to give it a try. I've had it on for about 72 hours now and done several loads of dishes as well as other household chores and I don't have any chips, normally I get chips within the first 24 hours. I am so pleased with this polish. Even if it chips today I am impressed. At least now I have the option of having my nails look pretty for an event and don't have to wait until an hour before to do my nails in order to have them look nice. Planning on buying another color today. I did use the top coat and follow the directions exactly as stated. Great product! Thank you!!

I have naturally short brittle nails that break and split very easily so normally the only way I can have long nails is to have professional gel manis with nail extensions. Either that or just keep my nails short and ugly. I tried the Color Therapy just because I liked the particular color and didn't think much about it but after two weeks and just a couple of touch ups I realized that as my nails not only grew longer but were super strong! At the time I didn't realize it was due to the polish and decided to switch to a different brand and color. So guess what happend? After two weeks of that other well-known brand, my nails split and broke and were in terrible shape. I had to cut them all down.I went back to the Color Therapy and they're growing again . Now I'm going to clear out all my old polish and stock up on somre pretty Color Therapy colors.
