Essie Nail Polish in "Topless & Barefoot" no 12 + "Press Pause" no 604 + "Limo-Scene" no 8 + "Between the Seats" no 49Essie is the brand of Nail Varnish that has a vast array of colours and types of effect.Essie is the brand of Nail Varnish that is favoured by our Queen, Elizabeth 2nd, so let me see how good these shades are. This Review is for EACH of the above named colours.1st Impressions (Applies To ALL 4 Shades)• The nail lacquers are presented in nice weighty glass bottles and the Nail Lacquer is Made in Spain.• As with most personal products these days, there's a very long List of Ingredients. These are shown on the peel-back label on each bottle.• The colour of the top of the box is the colour of the nail varnish when applied to your nails! In Use:-• To get the best adhesion,I made sure my hands and nails were thoroughly clean with no trace of hand cream.• I do not use Primers of Top Coats• The consistency of ALL of the colours is just right. Not so thin that it drips and not so thick that it is difficult to apply!• I found the Nail Polish very easy to apply. It went on easily without streakiness. The first coat dried fairly quickly and coverage was good.• Just applying ONE coat of this Nail Varnish lasted 2 - 3 days looking good. It wore away from the top of my nails rather than get chipped.• When I applied a second coat for a more dense coverage, it took longer to dry on ALL the colours and with two coats, had more of a tendency to chip after a couple of days.• When the varnish was removed, my nails did not feel in any way dry or uncomfortable. They were in excellent condition. The Colour Results:-• Re "TOPLESS & BARE FOOT" - This is a pale nude shade that hints of beige. One coat covered well and looked very natural and unobtrusive. Two coats of lacquer give a denser colour with a lovely high gloss.• Re "PRESS PAUSE" – This is a light grey, but depending on the light you are in, can look for of a blue grey or even a slightly lilac grey. One coat covered well and was the density that I prefer. Two coats give a thicker look with a high gloss. I think two coats look plasticy.• Re "LIMO-SCENE" – This is a very pale, sheer pink and is so easy to wear. One coat gave a natural, barely-there look. Two coats reinforced the colour and gave a higher shine. This is a shade that would suit all skin tones and all ages.• Re "BETWEEN THE SEATS" – This is a pale grey which is easy to wear. One coat gave good coverage. Two coats are higher gloss and denser finish, but again, I felt that two coats looked plasticy. At time of writing this Review, the RRP is £7.99 for each bottle of summer shades.

This Essie nail polish is in the shade 'Press Pause' and is a light grey nail lacquer that holds 13.5ml of colour. It comes in a transparent glass bottle with a bold white cap. You can see the colour of the lacquer come through the glass bottle. The word 'ESSIE' is printed on the front of the nail polish in white, along with another white font that says 'nail lacquer' in English, and a few different languages underneath the title. On the two sides of the bottle, it has the word 'ESSIE', again, printed a bit bolder and thicker so that you can feel the word. There isn't anything on the bottom of the nail polish, apart from the number '30', and on the top of the white lid, there is a white sticker with a black font that says the shade name; 'press pause'.The price is set at a reasonable price and can usually be found the same on other websites, along with Amazon. The nail polish does include the two miniature silver balls (that can generally be found) in the varnish, that helps combine the colour together and helps stop all the components from separating.Just warm the bottle before using it by rolling it in the palms of your hand, and away you go...I have given the varnish to my daughter as I do not wear nail products myself, but I have been given an honest feedback from her. She loves the colour and think it would look fabulous on all skin tones. The light-grey colour reminds her of a pastel blue with a grey undertone. My daughter has used this product twice, and has told me it is long wearing and does not budge once it is on. She put a clear top coat on after the polish and loves the look of it. It is a beautiful glossy colour, that would look great in the summer. She painted her toes with it, but is excited to ask to get her fingernails done with it because the colour looks stunning: especially with the sun reflecting on it.She recommends it to anyone, but particularly the people who want a simple, yet effective summer colour. This light-grey colour, helps you achieve a fresh look and my daughter absolutely loves what the colour looks like with a clear top coat on top, as it adds that extra shine. If you love this colour, but would prefer it to be matte, you can just purchase it with an additional matte top coat so that the clear coat on top makes it less shiny. However, if you would want to wear this colour, it will always help you achieve the look you want. It feels smooth on the nails and doesn't smudge as quick as other nail polishes can do.For the price, I do recommend this product, it looks glamorous and is very light weight, so you have no problem worrying about your nails all the time!

Essie Nail Lacquer "Island Hopping Dusky Purple" Shade 41I have been lucky enough to try out several Essie nail colours from the various collections, and here is my experience of this Essie "Island Hopping" Nail Lacquer.1st Impressions:• Normal, simple presentation, in a square shape glass bottle with a white screw top. It is nice and weighty and the shape makes it easy to hold.• The Nail Lacquer is Made in Spain.• As with most personal products these days, there's a peel back sticker on the screw cap, which provides a very long Ingredients List. However, being grey print on a white background and in really, really small print, you may find it difficult to read.• The applicator brush is a wide and slightly squared shape. It is a great shape to use.In Use:-• The consistency of "Island Hopping Dusky Purple"; Shade No 41 is just right – it is not too thin.• To get the best adhesion, I made sure my hands were freshly washed and without hand cream.• Application is simple with this consistency and shape of brush.• This description of this shade is just perfect. It is a dusky purple, like a heather. It is a pretty shade, especially for summertime, and has a plain finish with a nice gloss. (The colour as shown on the Product Page is absolutely accurate)• I found the Nail Polish very easy to apply. It went on smoothly without streakiness. It dried quickly, coverage was excellent and the finish was really glossy with just one coat.• Just applying ONE coat of this Nail Varnish lasted 2 - 3 days looking good. It wore away at the tips of my nails to show the white nail tops, rather than get chipped.• I applied a second coat for a more dense coverage.• Two coats of lacquer give a very dense colour with a lovely high gloss.• When the varnish was removed, my nails did not feel in any way dry or uncomfortable. They were in good condition.• The nail polish lasted fairly well over 3 days given that I was cleaning and also doing some light gardening. The high gloss did dull down a little bit, but there was no chipping of the nail lacquer. As with applying just one coat, the lacquer wore away from the tips of my nails.• When the varnish was removed, my nails did not feel in any way dry or uncomfortable. They were in good condition. At time of reviewing this nail polish the RRP is £7.99 which is a bit pricey. This colour is super for all year round use. It is a colour that will suit all ages and skin tones.

Essie Nail Colour Serene Slate Grey Nail Polish 13.5ml is a very nice nail polish which is very rich not only in colour but also in texture. The actual polish has a thick consistency which for me personally allowed me to fully coat my nails using one coat of nail varnish.I did find it did chip easily and needed extra time to dry properly which should need extra consideration if you want or need a nail polish which dries quickly to aid prevention of smudges or chips.I like Essie nail polishes as not only do they provide a nice colour but also aids the growth and protection of the nail polish.A great brand of nail polishes which I am happy to recommend.I have tried a few of the colours in the range which also includedEssie 79 Sand Tropez Beige Nude Nail Polish 13.5ml is a very nice nail varnish and one which I like to use when I want a nice pale look.I love Essie nail varnish for me the main reason the varnish protects my fingernails while bringing colour to them. The paler nail varnishes have become more popular the past year or so and this is one nail varnish delivers a nice soft colour which still stands out even with the colour being pale and not very eye-catching. Yet the colour it provides gives a nice solid coverage to the fingernails which I personally do like.I like the brush which is attached to the applicator as it covers my nails with one application which means the application is full and in a level solid applicationI like how the nail varnish protects my nails and for my own personal needs, this is excellent nail polish.I also had the pleasure of using the Ballet slippers colour and I loved the soft colour.essie Original Nail Polish, Nude and Neutral Shades, 6 Ballet Slippers 13.5 ml is a lovely soft coloured nail varnish and like all Essie's nail polishes it is easy to apply mainly because the applicator brush is long enough to fully coat the nail, therefore, no repeat applications over the one spot.Personally, I love the iridescent glow or finish of this nail polish as well as the nice soft pink colour. I do prefer soft light colours compared to the dark, bright colours. This is a lovely coloured nail varnish and it is one I am happy to recommend.Happy to recommend.

BETWEEN THE SEATSThis is a pale but nude grey, which is very light but warm. It is a beautiful basic neutral. From the first coat, the pay-off is really strong and it only needs 2 coats for an even colour, which is unusual for most other light polish colours. It has a very glossy and shiny finish.MASTER PLANThis is a medium warm neutral greige. It is a beautiful basic neutral. From the first coat, the pay-off is really strong and it only needed 1 coat for an even colour, but I did apply 2 for a longer lasting finish. It has a very glossy and shiny finish.PRESS PAUSEThis is a very pale cool grey. It is almost ethereal. From the first coat, the pay-off is really strong and it only needs 2 coats for an even colour, which is unusual for most other light polish colours. It has a very glossy and shiny finish.TOPLESS AND BAREFOOTThis is a warm neutral nude tone. The pay-off is not as strong as the other shades, and this needed 3 coats to get an even finish. It is too close to my natural skintone to make me want to wear it, as it looks like I've not put any colour on. The finish is very glossy.SERENE SLATE GREYThis is a beautiful slate grey. The pay-off is good, and only needed 1 coat. I applied 2 coats though, for a longer-lasting finish. Glossy and shiny finish.ON MUTEThis is an almost-black dark grey. Really good pay-off and only needed 1 coat! I applied 2 for a long-lasting finish. Not as harsh as full black so much more wearable. Very glossy finish.MERINOA glossy purpley grey mauve shade, which is a lovely neutral that works with lots of other colours. I applied 2 coats for an opaque finish. It is very glossy and long-wearing.APERITIFA gorgeous bright pillar box red, completely scarlet with no metallic. Very glossy. This took 2 coats to achieve a perfect finish. No word of a lie, this colour lasted for over 5 days without chipping or wearing away. I love it!THIGH HIGHA gorgeous sumptuous metallic burgundy shade with high gloss and reflection. It took 2 coats for a perfect finish.

I always test nail polish on one nail only – a different one each time – and leave it until it shows signs of wear and tear. What if I don't like the colour, or the polish looks awful after a day or two? Saves a lot of time and trouble. The little finger on my left hand is testing this particular polish and so far it is standing up well, with no chipping or flaking, and yes, it is used just as much as my other fingers, especially when I'm on my computer. The colour is a deep, rich burgundy which looks especially good with neutral coloured clothes – greys or creams. It goes on quite smoothly – a couple of strokes was all I needed for this little nail, so probably three for the larger ones, and dries quite quickly. Two coats are definitely needed to achieve a high gloss finish so I won't be putting a third coat on as I think it's unnecessary.Good though this is, I honestly don't think it's any better than Rimmel or Maybelline which is readily available and a little bit cheaper. This is my sister's take on it:The colour of the polish in the bottle is very appealing and the bottle a good size and shape for me to handle.I prepared my nails (unusual for me), with a basecoat having first moisturised. The first coat of polish was a bit runny and uneven but after it dried throughly I put a second coat on. It still looked rather runny and uneven but actully when it was dry it was a good solid coating -smooth even and shiny. The polish has probably been the most durable I have tried for ages; I applied it Saturday lunchtime, have done housework, horsework, tons of gardening and only now, a week later, is it looking a bit frayed!. It will definintely have to be taken off today but I would give it 10/10 for durability, would look at other colours in the range

I wanted this because I’m in LOVE with nail polish. I’ve tried every kind under the sun so I was excited to give this a go too! This is L'Oreal / Essie ‘Original’ line in the colour Not Red-Y For Bed (750).I painted my nails on Sunday with my usual base coat, only 1 coat of polish & topcoat and this polish started to chip a little by Tuesday, then bigger chunks chipped on Wednesday. I am very hard on my nails and obviously could have probably got better wear from 2+ coats but this polish is really pigmented! I only needed one coat to get really good coverage.I love the Essie bottles! They look amazing and the labelling is recognisable immediately. You feel like you’re getting a special product when you get this bottle of polish and I love that. The brush is a good size. It’s not too thin, so it’s easy to use. The wider brush makes application easier with less required strokes to achieve the desired amount of polish. This polish goes on well and the formulation is on the average side so you’re going to need 1-2 coats to get good coverage and make the polish opaque. This has better intensity than the ‘Treat, Love & Colour’ line so you can get away with less coats which saves on drying time. The colours in this range are absolutely stunning. The ones I received are creamy, vibrant and beautiful! This particular shade, Not Red-Y For Bed, is a gorgeous bright red. This is a stunning, dramatic colour with a shiny, glossy finish. This colour definitely shouts ‘look at me’ and people will notice this colour on you.Priced at £7.99 for 13.5 ml, this is good value for money. This is a good product from a trusted brand so you’re getting good quality.Overall I love these polishes and would recommend them.

This is a really cute little set, specially designed for birthdays. The box is white and pink with little cupcakes and streamers on it, and it includes a printed tag on the front where you can fill in the recipient's name. Inside you get six different nail polishes, which makes the set quite good value, giving you a decent saving on buying them separately. The range of colours is quite wide, including a black, a deep orangey-red, a burgundy, two very wearable pink/nudes (including the famous Ballet Slippers), and a pink sparkly polish that can either be worn on its own or over the other colours. Admittedly it's not the most exciting range - the pink sparkly one is great for birthdays but I think some of the other colours, particularly the nudes, could have been swapped for something a bit more fun and striking. It is however a very practical set as most of these colours will go with the majority of outfits, and they can all be jazzed up with the sparkle top coat.As with all essie polishes, these go on beautifully due to the great consistency and the wide, flat brush that covers most nails in one swipe. The staying power is reasonable (a couple of days for me, but my nails are very prone to chipping), and after application they are touch dry within a couple of minutes, so there's not too much waiting around.Overall this isn't the most 'fun' set but it's good value, contains quality polishes and will be appreciated by anyone practical who likes to have wearable nail polishes but also the opportunity for a bit of extra glitter.

I wanted this because I’m in LOVE with nail polish. I’ve tried every kind under the sun so I was excited to give this a go too! This is L'Oreal / Essie ‘Original’ line in the colour Pillow Talk The Talk (748).The longevity for this nail polish isn’t great. I only got a few good days out of this until chips started to appear. I used my usual base and topcoat and only got 3 perfect days, which isn’t that impressive. I am very hard on my nails, but normal polish usually lasts longer than that.I love the Essie bottles! This polish goes on well and the formulation is on the sheer side so you’re going to need 2-3 coats to get good coverage and make the polish opaque if you’re using it on its own. This particular shade, Pillow Talk The Talk, is a gorgeous silvery, sheer baby pink. For me, this sort of polish is more of a topper to other polish. It’s opalescent and has small, silver glitter shimmer in it and it’s not too pigmented on it’s own but it looks great on top of pink nail polish.Priced at £7.99 for 13.5 ml, this is good value for money. This is a good product from a trusted brand so you’re getting good quality.Overall I love these polishes and would recommend them.

I am becoming a big fan of this brand. the colours are really nice. Coverage is excellent as the polish is really rich and goes on beautifully. Use a basecoat and top coat and it will last longer. It did chip in one day on me, (but every polish chips on me, whereas it never does on my daughter!).I'm not keen on the black, or the gold glitter. The black seems an odd addition for a whole lot of gorgeous neutrals, but I guess it is on trend for Autumn and Winter, (and Halloween is coming up!).I really don't like the gold at all. The gold circles of glitter are too big and it looks cheap.Strangely, there is a label on this that says 'Happy Birthday' across the front. I think this is silly, especially with christmas coming up, and if given as a [Christmas] gift, looks daft, like you bought it on a 'special offer'.Overall, great quality, and great colours (bar the two above). I would definitely buy this brand again.Re the price, It's currently priced at £29.99 for 6. Not expensive per polish, but, I think I'd rather buy individual colours to get exactly what I wanted. I'd begrudge paying £10 (£5 each) for two colours I know I'd never use.Why they called it 'a birthday gift set', I have no idea. It's strange. Most colours bang no for Autumn, lovely neutrals, a gorgeous burgundy/red. Maybe I'm just too old for black polish and I know it's very popular. Gold glitter will appeal to many for Christmas.

I’ve been after this for a while, purely because of the name. Essie nail polishes always have really eye catching names. This one appears to have been retired, or had its name changed, as it’s very hard to track down or very expensive to actually purchase. It’s a nice brush and I didn’t find that I went too over the edges of my nails with it. (Just on my pinky fingers, but I’ve never mastered those.) Painting my nails/having acrylic nails always make me feel more feminine as my own nails are quite brittle and never grow very long, as you can see in the photos. It’s a very nice shade of red, not too bright/festive but also not too dark. This will suit many occasions and the good thing about a nice red nail varnish is that it will go with nearly every outfit. This does go on slightly streaky and I would probably recommend multiple coats of this. In the photos, I only have two coats, I possibly could have gone for a third.Nail varnish doesn’t have much staying power with me, so I can’t really comment on how long it would last on other people. Nail varnish on me really only lasts 1-3 days, and despite trying out multiple base/top coats and gel nails, nothing really stands the test of time for me. It also didn’t leave a stain on my natural nails, like some reds can do.If you can find this for a reasonable price, I would recommend it, even just for the laugh of the name.

essie Original Nail Polish - No. 268, Sunday Funday (13.5 ml)I've been using essie gel nail polishes for the past year or so, and they come in a lovely range of colours, are just the right consistency and go on easily with a well-designed brush. This is a lovely nail varnish in a fun coral peach colour with a bit of sparkle to it. Used with a top coat that's topped up daily, the colour stays shiny and chip-free.=== THINGS I LIKE ABOUT THIS PRODUCT ===* Essie does a fantastic range of quirky colours with whimsical names* The polish dries rapidly to a hard, high, chip-resistant sheen* Large bottle (13.5ml, which is larger than some other brands) in an attractive bottle* Good brush design - not too big,not too small, and fans out towards the bottom - which means the whole nail can be covered in just one sweep if you're careful* The essie website is full of tips for application and a host of ideas for colour combinations and designs.=== NIGGLES ===* One coat is streaky* Essie is a US brand now owned by L'Oreal and the current RRP is around twice the price of L'Oreal Colour Riche; however, I couldn't say it's twice as good.* Product information is on a tiny label on the lid that peels open. The wording is so tiny you'll need a magnifying glass to read it!For sale at the time of writing this review at £7.99.

‘Not R-edy For Bed’ is a bright cherry red creme shade with a stunning high shine. It has a highly pigmented formula, which if I had applied a slightly thicker coat would have made this a fully opaque in just 1 coat! As I usually like to apply 2 coats, I did 2 thin ones and it applied like a dream! The brush is slightly rounded and fans out beautifully and this makes application easy and quick as you need fewer strokes. It also follows the curve of the nail perfectly which I felt helped me to achieve quite a neat finish, which is great (considering my hands shake a little) and I only had a couple of small slips! It dried fairly quickly, considering there were 4 coats, (base+2colour+top coat)in around 20 minutes. It has the most amazing glossy shine and I had a lot of compliments whilst wearing it ? I usually steer well clear of bright red polish because it usually makes my hands look washed out, but I feel this really suited my fair skin and is a red I can wear with confidence.I loved everything about this polish and at £7.99 (24/1/21) I think it is an excellent price for the quality of the product and the stunning results it gave. Highly recommend:)In a couple of my photos it looks a slightly darker red, but the lighter cherry red is the true colour, I just added those in because they captured the shine!?

As always with Essie - the bottle is a stylish square design and looks sturdy enough not to easily topple over when you’ve got it open and painting your nails. The consistency of the nail polish is good - not too gloopy and not too runny. However, when I painted it on my nails, even with very few strokes of the brush, the colour was very streaky. This happened on each nail I painted and I was very disheartened.I left it to dry (assuming I would have to immediately remove the colour) which it did in a decent amount of time. I didn’t go prodding at it to make sure it was dry, but neither did I notice that it was still soft to the touch when I next went to do something.I’m happy to say that once the colour dried,it had evened out on my nails. With one coat, there was just a slight pink shine to my nails. With two coats, there was a good amount of coverage although you could still see a difference in colour between the main part of the nail and the tips. With three coats, you get a really good coverage and it definitely shows that you’ve painted your nails. The colour is very subtle but still makes your nails look great. If not for the fact that I felt the varnish goes on streaky to start, this would have been 5 stars from me. But because of the streaky start - it’s 4 stars. Still a good buy.
