I developed several skin allergies a few years ago, which also triggered some eczema, which akso presents as slightly thickened and peeling skin around my nails (which I’m told is normal). I’ve tried every moisturiser known to man with little effect, I’ve tried peeling it off which left me with cuts, I’ve tried carefully trimming it which often left me with cuts, I’ve tried filing it with a nail file or buffer which often left me with sore skin. I can’t just leave it alone either because when it eventually comes away it leaves open raw skin underneath. I’ve been at a loss as to how to manage this for a long time now and can’t be having open skin this often on my hands as I also suffer several autoimmune conditions and get infections easily which my body can’t fight.

I bought this cuticle remover in Superdrugs but want to leave my review here as you may find it helpful.I like this product and find it to be really useful if you do your manicure at home. I applied it only for 1 minute and rinsed it well with warm water. My cuticles did not dissolve but they definitely became much softer. I wonder if it's fine to apply it for longer than 1 minute. May be it would dissolve the cuticles completely. Not sure it's healthy for your nails though. Anyway, 1 minute is enough to make your cuticles soft an manageable. Then you can just push them with a manicure stick or trip them easily. Then apply some good cuticle oil and your nails look great!On the bottle it says you can even use this product for calluses!

I have been using this product for several years.It’s inexpensive, lasts ages and is very effective.I have tried numerous cuticle removers over the years at varying price points and this remains my favourite.It’s one of those ‘does what it says on the tin’ kind of products.It’s important to note that this won’t magically dissolve your cuticles away -as some other reviewers have mentioned disappointment. That’s unfortunately not how cuticle removers work.It simply breaks down and softens your cuticles significantly in order to make it a lot easier to push them back but you will still need to trim any excess skin with a cuticle trimmer.I’ve also found it effective at softening corns and hardened skin on the heels before going in with an exfoliating foot file.Like most products,

I’ve quite delicate & sensitive skin and this is so gentle.I was skepticle at first, as I’ve tried things like this before, with no success.It’s literally take 15-30 seconds and your cuticles and soft and pliable to gently push back, without any damage to your skin.My cuticles are quite tough and my mum treated me to a mobile nail appointment. She was having a bit of trouble with my cuticles and I got this out. She’d not seen it before and was actually blown away at how effective it was.She’s newly trained and gave her mine to keep as she didn’t charge much and she was so lovely.She was delighted and it’s made her job so much quicker and easier. And less painful for the clients.You only need a tiny amount too.

Amazing stuff - truly wish that I had discovered this product sooner!Having read past reviews I took on board the suggestion to leave on nails for 1 minute. I put a couple of drops on each nail (one hand at a time), and to be honest by the time I finished each hand the solution had been on the last couple of nails for around 2-3 minutes with no ill effect!This stuff simply dissolves the cuticles before your very eyes. Quick push back with cuticle stick, a trim with cuticle scissors, rinse in a bowl of warm water and gentle sweep with a nail brush, you’re left with a salon beautiful nails. Saving yourself £££’s in the process ?I always take into consideration reviews left by others when choosing items.

This stuff works, I apply the thick gel around cuticles first, leave for a few minutes then push back my cuticles and gently scrape them with a cuticle stick. I then apply to the whole nail and gently scrape the nail to remove those horrid nail lines .it whitens the tips of my nails and just makes everything look better.no need to use my cuticle cutters any more which I use well on one hand, and butcher myself trying to do the other and invariably end up bleeding. It's a great product that is a good price, easy to use, does what it supposed to and more, and will last for a long time so very economical.. Will use nothing else from now on .

Absolutely effing amazing! My cuticles were sticking out, all dry and catching on clothes, hair, everything. I used oils, creams, everything ? I saw this gel recommended on some other sites and thought I'd give it a go as it kept popping out. Didn't hold much hope though. Oh my god, this thing is a life saver! Within minutes my cuticles were as soft as if I spent hours soaking them in hot water and moisturiser! I just scraped the dead skin off and pushed the cuticles back a bit. Never expected the results to be THIS fantastic! I mean, wow! I highly recommend this product to ANYONE and EVERYONE! ?

For about two years now I have had extremely dry cuticles and also the surrounding skin on both thumbs (so bad, the skin was catching on any fabric and literally tearing off causing bleeding and very sore thumbs. I have tried covering them up with plasters.. I have spent a fortune on hand creams and hand treatments to try to resolve this. Then two weeks ago I googled 'Best cuticle remover' and this came out top of the list - and there's a reason. It works. It does exactly what it says on the packet. I have used it twice and my nails, cuticles and skin are now in tip top condition.

Having never used a similar product (Or even heard of one), I was unsure what to expect. Will it work? Will it sting/hurt to use?Despite my initial fears, it worked very well, and I didn't feel it at all. Upon applying it, I just used a "nail pusher-downer" (I apologise, I have no idea what they're called) to remove the excess cuticle.I imagine many manicure-experienced people are rolling their eyes at this awful review, but I wanted to say my piece for those people like me, who are scrolling through the reviews to try and find out if it is what they are looking for or not :)

I was really impressed with how easy and effective this item is - I just dab a little drop on my cuticle and rub it along the length of the cuticle with the tip of the bottle, leave it for about 15 seconds and can easily scrape away the dead tissue, even the tougher and older cuticles (from years of nail neglect) were taken care of with minimal pressure and no nasty cuts like I got the other week with nail nippers :) I do recommend washing it off to avoid your nails getting softened by the gel but highly recommend this as a cuticle remover :)

Why didn't I find this years ago !!! I suffer from very fast growing cuticles and have never found anything that really makes them look tidy until this. Even after the first application, my nails look better than they have done for years. So quick and simple. Apply it around the cuticle leave for about 15 to 20 seconds, push cuticles back and then wash off thoroughly with soap and water. Afterwards I applied by beeswax balm and that's it. All in less than 10 minutes and they look great. Will use once a week to maintain this great improvement.

Sally Hansen products are never disappointing! This was the first ever cuticle remover that I’ve ever used and I was really shocked with the results. I have very sensitive cuticles and skin around the nails and this product removes cuticles smoothly without making the skin around the nails feel sore. This is a must have product, but please be advised to only apply the product for 15 seconds as instructed as my mother left this product on for longer and her nails started shoring discolouration - best advise is to do one finger at a time.

This does seem to work however, i would just do a few nails at a time. It seemed to not be as effective the after a while. For example, i started off doing just one hand at a time, after cleaning it off following the 15 second leave soak, I would start sraping my little finger and working my way to my thumb. To start with cuticles were really easy to push away with one touch but the closer I got the my thumb the less easy it got... as tho it had dried out already and lost the effect after a couple of minutes of being washed off.

I've always found my cuticles to be my problem area when doing manicures. They always tended to look dry no matter how much hand cream I used. This has really helped.The gel is easy to apply and you only need a small bit so I think the bottle is going to last a long time. I use this with a wooden cutical pusher and the results are brilliant.I sent a picture of my at-home-manicure to my sister after using this and she thought I'd had my nails professionally done.I'd definitely recommend trying.

Thank you Sally Hansen, my difficult to remove cuticles are no longer a problem, the instructions on the bottle advise you to leave the gel on for 15 seconds, I left it on for 15 minutes while I was busy with chores, a couple of my toe nails had stubborn cuticles which defied any other cuticle remover, my nails grow fast so this product is a must for my treatments, I have been at a loss to find the right product , this one does melt away the cuticle, it really does leave you with clean nails.
