When I first started stretching my ears I started using coconut oil to moisturise my lobes every day. Although the coconut oil works beautifully, the scent and anti-inflammatory properties of the ingredients of this hand salve have made the process thus far brilliant. I do alternate between this and the coconut oil for my lobes, but found that this is particularly helpful immediately after stretching. As a hand salve, which this product actually is (although it is amazing for my ears!), I have found it has helped protect and toughen my skin. I work in a factory environment and despite wearing gloves my hands have developed blisters. The hand salve has helped soften the blisters and helped the skin beneath them heal and toughen quickly. To add to what may be the best hand cream I've ever used, as far as I'm aware the ingredients are predominantly - if not completely - natural. This is particularly reassuring for me as I have been using this salve on damaged skin and I would hate to think that I've been putting any unpleasant chemicals into my body.Fantastic product, smells amazing, works quickly! Have recommended to many friends and I carry it with me everywhere!Edit: If it was possible to push this up to six stars, I would. So recently I have stretched my ears to (a rather unassuming) 10mm. The stretch went fine, no issues there and it was painless; no tears, no blood or pus - great. The issue came a few days later when I notice the skin on the back of my ear had gone strange (something called a blow out - Google it!)I diligently did salt water soaks and massaged with this as much as I could to encourage the skin on my ears to not be blown out! I did everything but downsize - though I did leave my plugs out for an hour or so on a morning. We are now about three weeks after I first noticed the blow out and my ear feels so much healthier! The blow out has shrank and is now unnoticeable to others even without plugs in. I can still feel it but I guess I’m more aware of it. I’m keeping up with regular breathing time, massaging my lobes and letting the salve soak into my plugs before putting them back in my ears and this all seems to be working!(I just thought I’d add that in, for others who may be using this to stretch their ears.)

I’ve been a nail biter for almost 20 years! To the point, my nail beds are unusually small. Finally, I've managed to curb the habit somewhat though the skin around the nails still isn't in the best of shape due to dryness and hangnails that can be painful. I have used oils, moisturising gloves and generally some other lotions and potions which had helped though made my hands look and feel as though there was a film of grease, not pleasant. Due to the high positive reviews and being already been familiar with this brand, I decided to give it a go-to to see if the hype is there.Firstly the scent is fresh and clean if you like the smell of lemon then you'd love this,if not I wouldn't say this is for you as the throw is initially pretty strong I personally do like the scent. In terms of texture it is advertised as a ”cream” this isn’t accurate it’s balmier if you have tried Vaseline for lips then I’d say it’s very similar to that even down to the size of the tin. Does it make your fingers look and feel greasy? I'd say it does initially though within a few minutes it does soak in quite well this is when the scent disperses. Is it worth the price tag? Questionable, although for me it works well, the tin is pretty small but using this daily for the last few weeks it looks as though it's barely been used. There are similar products on the market that are slightly cheaper, all you are doing here is paying for the brand. But if you are a diehard Burts Bees fan. Then I’d say yeah.. give it a go.

Suffering from dermatitis and Pompholyx (dyshidrotic) eczema I’ve found very few creams or ointments that both help to moisturise and not exacerbate my condition. Almost everything makes my skin itch, dry up and eventually break out in painful blisters. I found Burt’s Bees Hand Salve works really well to moisturise and help my skin heal. The only other things I can use are Epaderm which helps a bit but not much and Tropic Skin Care Tamanu healing balm which is very good but rather expensive. Burt’s is a nice middle ground. Effective and affordable. I actually picked up a small tin for £1 on the high street (actually a display in a charity shop) and thought there was nothing to lose in trying it.One tip: if you are worried about the greasiness of the salve then get some white cotton gloves. I slap the salve on the then put a cotton glove on. This allows me to get on with things in the house, or go to sleep without feeling like I’m going to transfer the ointment onto other things. I think with any ointment or cream, it will work well for some people and not for others. I’ve tried a large range of things in the past but thankfully, Burt’s works really well for me.

This stuff is bloody fantastic, if I could end the review here I would but I need to explain why. For years on and off I've suffered with terrible dry skin on my fingers, I work in a hospital so am constantly washing my hands, wearing gloves, in and out of the cold/rain. One year I remember my fingers were really raw, the skin would be so dry it was like a river bed in a drought and the skin would flake off. For the last 16 months it's just been dry and mildly cracked but still annoying and painful especially when it comes to constant washing and hand sanitizing. I've tried sudocream, e45, steroid cream, nivea, aveeno, O'keefs working hands, bio-oil, dermalex, dermol, diprobase, cetraben, vaseline, savlon, neutrogena, creams with argan oil, creams with honey BUT none of them have been as good as this. Even after 24hrs there was a night and day difference, it arrived on a Thursday evening so used some then and again in the morning, my hands haven't felt this good in a long time, I don't know how they do it but this salve is a miracle. If you have dry cracked skin on your hands maybe feet I would heartily recommend this

This is absolutely amazing stuff. I have been tormented for years every winter with extremely sore, itchy, cracked and inflamed skin on the back of both hands. I have tried all sorts of hand creams and changed soaps from liquid to solid and then to solid soap for sensitive skin. I have quite literally tried everything... but within days of using this my hands were completely repaired and the skin is back to being lovely and smooth and soft. I am, I fear, perhaps a little addicted to the wonderful smell too - a gorgeous blend of eucalyptus and lavender - and find myself applying it probably more often than actually necessary. The texture of the balm itself is quite hard but it melts easily and spreads beautifully.I am thoroughly enjoying massaging it into my hands at every opportunity and although initially it feels very oily, it is absorbed completely within a minute or so and does not leave any residue at all. I honestly cannot praise this product highly enough as it has completely healed my hands.

Saw this recommenced for cracked and dry hands on a couple of different sites so found it on amazon. Was then initially put off by so many reviews complaining about the smell. From most the comments you expect some vomit inducing aroma to hit your nose on use! Anyway my hands have been so badly cracked and dry lately to the extent they were bleeding so I decided to brave the smell and try it and I am so glad I did. For a start there is nothing wrong with the smell. It’s gentle and actually quite subtle and while it probably wouldn’t be a reason to attract me to it at the same time it’s not bad at all and wouldn’t put me off. Then for the important thing - the results.I’ve been using it for 3 days now and my hands are well in the way to being fully healed. Even the largest cracks that were bleeding before are now healing and no longer bleeding. Can not recommend this product enough and I’ll definitely be using it regularly now.

I have purchased this product over the years. I continue to buy it for its germ busting properties. Even though these aren't advertised as such - it's a well known fact that eucalyptus and rosemary are good in combating germs! I used to use this regularly on my hands before cleaning. It is sticky but rubs in well although it will leave a residual feeling to the surface of your hands - this personally doesn't bother me as I am using it more for a protective barrier to my skin. The smell is quite strong but pleasant - although this will be down to personal preference. It is a natural smell not artificially overpowering.I personally am very sensitive to artificial ingredients and fragrances and Iget along really well with this particular product. It comes in a handy tin which I do find a little awkward to get the lid of - I tend to use my nails to seperate the lid from the container itself.

Aside from this being a quite lovely cuticle wax/cream/paste, which smells lush and leaves your fingertips feeling and looking gorgeous, I found another use! This happened quite by accident while on holiday, I got trapped in a moving car with a mozzie, it had already bitten me twice before I realised it was there. Needless to say it did not get the chance to have another go!However, I had nothing on me to put on the bites which were swelling quite nicely. I had my tin of this in my bag, and in a desperate attempt to at least put the itching off till I could get something proper, I smeared some on both bites. It worked!! No itching and it kept the redness and swelling down too. There have been a cppl of other biting incidences since we got back, and all have been remedied with some of this.So yeah, nice cuticle cream and excellent bite relief too. Bizarre but true.

I recently had a finger infection which left the skin around my nail damaged. Since using this Burt’s Bees Cuticle Cream for just one week and a half weeks. The skin is looking a whole lot better, the skin is growing back healthy, it’s looking even healthier than it was before. I have used it on all of my finger nails and the results are brilliant, equally the same. They are all better than they used to be and look.Once I apply the Lemon Cuticle cream to the skin around my nail. It drys quite quick so I can go about my day carrying out activities. The area I apply the cream to remains moistures all day. Even if I wash my hands! Although I would suggest applying more Burt’s Bees Cuticle Cream to get the full benefits, which I always did where possible. All in all this is a great value for money product, that does the job well and I’m very happy with it

I don't normally write reviews to be honest, because I can't be bothered. But I felt the need to write this to let people know that this stuff is the best stuff I've ever used. I've got really bad eczema/dermatitis on my hands (to the point theyve been bleeding sometimes) and I've tried absolutely everything and nothing has worked at all. The doctors steroid creams haven't worked and products like coconut oil and gentle hand creams haven't worked either. But this has conpmetely sorted my hands out and ive onky been using it for about a week and im continuing to use it. I will certainly be buying this product again. It is certainly worth £6/£7 What ever it costs because it works. It's all organic and gentle to your hands. Will leave your hands feeling oily and greasy for about half an hour but then settles in. Don't be put off by any bad reviews. 10/10

This stuff is amazing, I read that to keep hands tough one should use an oily balm to clog the pores and keep the skin supple and to prevent skin tears, whereas a cream/lotion actually moisturises below the calouses and really soft. Being a climber I want to keep my hard earned callouses but I am really not a fan of the painful moments when they rip off and I leave half my hand stuck to a piece of rock. I use this every night before I go to sleep so I don't have to touch anything and so far I haven't had a single problem and my hands feel great. I also haven't had a single hang-nail and I used to get these all the time. The balm has a really neutral fragrance so my husband also has a pot to use every day.Highly recommended and after using this I will never go back to lotions or creams, even if I stop climbing.

It's a simple and natural soft balm, with a consistency similar to shoe polish, comprising of clear beeswax softened with a little olive oil, with the addition of vitamin E to aid skin health. Used sparingly the wax is easily rubbed in and dries quite quickly to aid recovery or protection from damaging irritants to skin tissue ( where the Ph balance has been or could be disturbed ). This is perfect for gardeners who's hands are always getting roughed up by things that can scratch and/or be caustic to the dermis. It's also good for hands that are overexposed to detergents without protective gloves. There are probably many other applications for this chemical-free salve but it does the trick for my gardening hands, and also my wrists that can remain exposed and develop soreness when I am wearing gloves.Eamonn

This lemon scented moisturiser for your cutical is fantastic! My nails have never been healthier!I have naturally thin weak nails and my cutical has been dry and nasty for some time. I was looking for a scented moisturiser directly designed for the nail and critical, and this works fantastically. i suffer with excessive dry skin on my hands especially and yet since I have used this lovely scented cream, my nails look and feel great. I have used it on dry patches of skin on the backs of my hands and the patches are getting smaller. I use it after each time I put my hands in water and once before I go to bed. I am so impressed with this product that I intend to buy some moisturiser for my face and body next from Burt's Bees. This product is so good and cheap too considering the great quality.

I do a lot of work with my hands, so they're prone to splitting and cracking quite badly, I also have some pretty wicked caluses and this hand balm is just about the only thing I've found that does the trick. It keeps your hands nice and supple, and if the skin is split, it doesn't sting or cause tightness. The only thing you have to be aware of is it is very thick and can take a little while to sink in. I usually put mine on just before I go to bed, and really massage it into my hands, and by the morning my hands are smooth, non-greasy and usually much happier. If you put too much on, just rub it over anywhere else that gets dry (my knees and elbows usually - Bristol water is like liquid rock)and it works a treat. The Lavender, Rosemary and Eucalyptus scent is a plus too, super relaxing!

Bought this cuticle cream after wanting to try it for ages and having tried an oil to some difference but not massive amounts. I am prone to very dry skin especially around my cuticles and the side of my nails. I get shellac manicures and for me as much as I love them they were only lasting around a week, before starting to lift and peel. My nail tech advised a nail oil as she could tell my cuticles were very dry, and with the oil my shellac lasted around 9-10 days. With this burts bees cuticle cream it has lasted 14 days and counting, and i am currently booked in for a new manicure not because it has chipped or lifted but because it has grown out! This is doing wonders for the health of my nails and the dry skin surrounding them.It also smells amazing! highly recommend it.
