Essie Nail Polish in "Topless & Barefoot" no 12 + "Press Pause" no 604 + "Limo-Scene" no 8 + "Between the Seats" no 49Essie is the brand of Nail Varnish that has a vast array of colours and types of effect.Essie is the brand of Nail Varnish that is favoured by our Queen, Elizabeth 2nd, so let me see how good these shades are. This Review is for EACH of the above named colours.1st Impressions (Applies To ALL 4 Shades)• The nail lacquers are presented in nice weighty glass bottles and the Nail Lacquer is Made in Spain.• As with most personal products these days, there's a very long List of Ingredients. These are shown on the peel-back label on each bottle.• The colour of the top of the box is the colour of the nail varnish when applied to your nails! In Use:-• To get the best adhesion,I made sure my hands and nails were thoroughly clean with no trace of hand cream.• I do not use Primers of Top Coats• The consistency of ALL of the colours is just right. Not so thin that it drips and not so thick that it is difficult to apply!• I found the Nail Polish very easy to apply. It went on easily without streakiness. The first coat dried fairly quickly and coverage was good.• Just applying ONE coat of this Nail Varnish lasted 2 - 3 days looking good. It wore away from the top of my nails rather than get chipped.• When I applied a second coat for a more dense coverage, it took longer to dry on ALL the colours and with two coats, had more of a tendency to chip after a couple of days.• When the varnish was removed, my nails did not feel in any way dry or uncomfortable. They were in excellent condition. The Colour Results:-• Re "TOPLESS & BARE FOOT" - This is a pale nude shade that hints of beige. One coat covered well and looked very natural and unobtrusive. Two coats of lacquer give a denser colour with a lovely high gloss.• Re "PRESS PAUSE" – This is a light grey, but depending on the light you are in, can look for of a blue grey or even a slightly lilac grey. One coat covered well and was the density that I prefer. Two coats give a thicker look with a high gloss. I think two coats look plasticy.• Re "LIMO-SCENE" – This is a very pale, sheer pink and is so easy to wear. One coat gave a natural, barely-there look. Two coats reinforced the colour and gave a higher shine. This is a shade that would suit all skin tones and all ages.• Re "BETWEEN THE SEATS" – This is a pale grey which is easy to wear. One coat gave good coverage. Two coats are higher gloss and denser finish, but again, I felt that two coats looked plasticy. At time of writing this Review, the RRP is £7.99 for each bottle of summer shades.

I wanted this because I’m in LOVE with nail polish. I’ve tried every kind under the sun so I was excited to give this a go too! This is L'Oreal / Essie ‘Original’ line in the colour Not Red-Y For Bed (750).I painted my nails on Sunday with my usual base coat, only 1 coat of polish & topcoat and this polish started to chip a little by Tuesday, then bigger chunks chipped on Wednesday. I am very hard on my nails and obviously could have probably got better wear from 2+ coats but this polish is really pigmented! I only needed one coat to get really good coverage.I love the Essie bottles! They look amazing and the labelling is recognisable immediately. You feel like you’re getting a special product when you get this bottle of polish and I love that. The brush is a good size. It’s not too thin, so it’s easy to use. The wider brush makes application easier with less required strokes to achieve the desired amount of polish. This polish goes on well and the formulation is on the average side so you’re going to need 1-2 coats to get good coverage and make the polish opaque. This has better intensity than the ‘Treat, Love & Colour’ line so you can get away with less coats which saves on drying time. The colours in this range are absolutely stunning. The ones I received are creamy, vibrant and beautiful! This particular shade, Not Red-Y For Bed, is a gorgeous bright red. This is a stunning, dramatic colour with a shiny, glossy finish. This colour definitely shouts ‘look at me’ and people will notice this colour on you.Priced at £7.99 for 13.5 ml, this is good value for money. This is a good product from a trusted brand so you’re getting good quality.Overall I love these polishes and would recommend them.

I wanted this because I’m in LOVE with nail polish. I’ve tried every kind under the sun so I was excited to give this a go too! This is L'Oreal / Essie ‘Original’ line in the colour Pillow Talk The Talk (748).The longevity for this nail polish isn’t great. I only got a few good days out of this until chips started to appear. I used my usual base and topcoat and only got 3 perfect days, which isn’t that impressive. I am very hard on my nails, but normal polish usually lasts longer than that.I love the Essie bottles! They look amazing and the labelling is recognisable immediately. You feel like you’re getting a special product when you get this bottle of polish and I love that. The brush is a good size. It’s not too thin, so it’s easy to use. This polish goes on well and the formulation is on the sheer side so you’re going to need 2-3 coats to get good coverage and make the polish opaque if you’re using it on its own. This particular shade, Pillow Talk The Talk, is a gorgeous silvery, sheer baby pink. For me, this sort of polish is more of a topper to other polish. It’s opalescent and has small, silver glitter shimmer in it and it’s not too pigmented on it’s own but it looks great on top of pink nail polish.Priced at £7.99 for 13.5 ml, this is good value for money. This is a good product from a trusted brand so you’re getting good quality.Overall I love these polishes and would recommend them.

essie Original Nail Polish - No. 268, Sunday Funday (13.5 ml)I've been using essie gel nail polishes for the past year or so, and they come in a lovely range of colours, are just the right consistency and go on easily with a well-designed brush. This is a lovely nail varnish in a fun coral peach colour with a bit of sparkle to it. Used with a top coat that's topped up daily, the colour stays shiny and chip-free.=== THINGS I LIKE ABOUT THIS PRODUCT ===* Essie does a fantastic range of quirky colours with whimsical names* The polish dries rapidly to a hard, high, chip-resistant sheen* Large bottle (13.5ml, which is larger than some other brands) in an attractive bottle* Good brush design - not too big,not too small, and fans out towards the bottom - which means the whole nail can be covered in just one sweep if you're careful* The essie website is full of tips for application and a host of ideas for colour combinations and designs.=== NIGGLES ===* One coat is streaky* Essie is a US brand now owned by L'Oreal and the current RRP is around twice the price of L'Oreal Colour Riche; however, I couldn't say it's twice as good.* Product information is on a tiny label on the lid that peels open. The wording is so tiny you'll need a magnifying glass to read it!For sale at the time of writing this review at £7.99.

‘Not R-edy For Bed’ is a bright cherry red creme shade with a stunning high shine. It has a highly pigmented formula, which if I had applied a slightly thicker coat would have made this a fully opaque in just 1 coat! As I usually like to apply 2 coats, I did 2 thin ones and it applied like a dream! The brush is slightly rounded and fans out beautifully and this makes application easy and quick as you need fewer strokes. It also follows the curve of the nail perfectly which I felt helped me to achieve quite a neat finish, which is great (considering my hands shake a little) and I only had a couple of small slips! It dried fairly quickly, considering there were 4 coats, (base+2colour+top coat)in around 20 minutes. It has the most amazing glossy shine and I had a lot of compliments whilst wearing it ? I usually steer well clear of bright red polish because it usually makes my hands look washed out, but I feel this really suited my fair skin and is a red I can wear with confidence.I loved everything about this polish and at £7.99 (24/1/21) I think it is an excellent price for the quality of the product and the stunning results it gave. Highly recommend:)In a couple of my photos it looks a slightly darker red, but the lighter cherry red is the true colour, I just added those in because they captured the shine!?

As always with Essie - the bottle is a stylish square design and looks sturdy enough not to easily topple over when you’ve got it open and painting your nails. The consistency of the nail polish is good - not too gloopy and not too runny. However, when I painted it on my nails, even with very few strokes of the brush, the colour was very streaky. This happened on each nail I painted and I was very disheartened.I left it to dry (assuming I would have to immediately remove the colour) which it did in a decent amount of time. I didn’t go prodding at it to make sure it was dry, but neither did I notice that it was still soft to the touch when I next went to do something.I’m happy to say that once the colour dried,it had evened out on my nails. With one coat, there was just a slight pink shine to my nails. With two coats, there was a good amount of coverage although you could still see a difference in colour between the main part of the nail and the tips. With three coats, you get a really good coverage and it definitely shows that you’ve painted your nails. The colour is very subtle but still makes your nails look great. If not for the fact that I felt the varnish goes on streaky to start, this would have been 5 stars from me. But because of the streaky start - it’s 4 stars. Still a good buy.

‘Pillow talk-the-talk’ is a very pretty pale pink shimmer shade which is Slightly lighter than pictured.I like the square embossed bottles from Essie and find them easier to hold and use than the usual round bottles. I also like the wide slightly curved brush, which makes it quick and easy to apply the polish with minimal strokes and gives a nice neat finish (even with my shaky hands!)It has a creamy formula that covers well in 1 coat, but 2 coats made it fully opaque and shimmeringly beautiful - in low light it positively glows! I could see a few brush lines close up, and this wasn’t helped by the ridges in my nails - but I still love these shimmer shades! ?It dried fairly quickly, around 3 minutes, for the 1st coat, with the second coat taking around 10 minutes to completely dry. When applied over my ridge filling base coat (a necessary step for me) and finishing with a top coat (i found it scratched easily without one) it did make drying time a little longer - but it was so worth the extra effort for the gorgeously shimmery and shiny oh-so-pretty results! This polish retails at £7.99 (24/1/21) which I feel is an excellent price for the quality of this nail polish and the results it gives. Happily recommend.

I am quite impressed with this Nail Polish from Essie … it is reasonably priced, goes on smoothly without bleeding onto the skin around the nails, it is non gloopy and dries in about five minutes.I received the shade 121 Topless & Barefoot (which is a lovely shade of pale peachy pink) … for reviewing purposes. This nail varnish is a long wear chip resistant polish that is available in a good selection of colours … it is not overly thick but does give a good coverage with two coats and if you add an Essie Top Coat it should last almost a week … I found that it depends very much on what you are doing throughout the day, making sure that you wear rubber gloves if your hands are going to spend any amount of time in water. The nail polish was easy to apply, although you do need to be careful not to put too much onto the brush otherwise it would could easily bleed onto the surrounding skin. The bottle is well balanced and stands securely on a flat surface, the brush is of a decent width … two brush strokes covered my nail and it dries in about five minutes.I will definitely be purchasing more and trying some of the different colours in the range when this bottle runs out.

Essie is among my favourite brands of nail polish. This is a classic pale pink shimmer - a perfect shade to consider now the warmer weather is on its way.I have noticed that some pearlescent nail polishes can take much longer to dry than other types. This is the advantage of a premium brand like Essie as it can be relied upon to be the colour you expect and to apply smoothly without taking too long to dry.It is worth taking a little extra time to apply this polish properly. Use a base coat - if the foundation's good, chances are the end result will be too. Don't be tempted to apply the polish too thickly, thinking you'll save time. What you're aiming to do is to gradually build the colour over 2 or 3 thin coats.Using a top coat will help to protect your manicure and make it as long lasting as possible.'Pillow Talk The Talk Baby' is a beautiful, feminine shade that reflects light and looks quite striking on, especially right now when we're coming out of winter and there are still so many darker matte shades around. A classic shade like this is neutral too, so it'll complement most outfits.

I was hoping that this would be a great colour as I was really picky as to what sort of lilac polish that I wanted to get. I didn't want any greyish tone, I didn't want it veering into pink, nor into purple I didn't want it drab, I didn't want it too bright....I had looked at various reviews on the net and this sounded and looked pretty much what I wanted but I had been burned before so I waited and hoped that I had chosen well. Well it arrived today and I must say that the colour exceeded both my expectation and my hope. The picture doesn't begin to do it justice. It is absolutely gorgeous, a clear vibrant tasteful lilac that looks fabulous on.It did have that Essie streaky thing going onwhen I applied my first coat atop of the base coat but the second application evened it all up and was good to go. I finished up with a topcoat to seal it in and add an extra bit of shine and it's beautiful.I keep looking at my fingers and watching the light twinkle off them and am really chuffed with the look especially since the last polish that I had on wasn't all that I had hoped for.

My wife likes Essie nail-care products a lot so she has been pleased to be able to try this 268 Sunday Funday nail polish from the brand's Coral and Orange Shades range as it is probably not a colour she would have chosen for herself. This Essie range is described as having intense rich colour with high coverage, which my wife agrees with, and she finds this Sunday Funday shade a colour she likes more than she expected. Having had a shellac coating on her nails recently my wife needed a good quality nail product to use once the shellac had been removed and this long-lasting, easy to apply nail polish from Essie proved to be just what was needed, and with a couple of coats applied it has given my wife's nails an attractive look with a professional high gloss shine. Sunday Funday is an attractive colour option from this fun eight-shade collection of Essie nail polishes that features an interesting range of seasonal limited-edition colours – great value at under eight pounds for13.5 ml currently from Amazon and recommended by my wife.

‘Berry Naughty’ is a deep dark blood red creme shade which applied easily and with only 2 - 3 strokes thanks to the nicely rounded, good sized brush that helped me to achieve a neat(ish) finish - even with my shaky hand! The 1st coat was slightly streaky and a little lighter than it appeared to be in the bottle but once I applied a 2nd coat this really built the colour intensity making it fully opaque with a really beautiful glossy high shine.I have ridges in my nails and they were really visible with the 1st coat but I was glad to see that the 2nd coat made them much less noticeable and I think that if I had applied a 3rd coat these would have been completely smoothed out. This is a gorgeously bold deep dark red shade with a stunning high shine which stayed chip free on my nails for 3 days, which I’m happy with as I like to change my nail colour every few days anyway! It removed easily and didn’t stain my nails. (I used a base & topcoat) At £7.99 (21/1/21) I feel this is a good mid-range price for this product.

My wife likes most Essie nail-care products so she was pleased to be able to try this Chinchilly Grey nail polish as it is not a colour she says that she would have chosen for herself. This nail polish is described as having a professional long-lasting, chip resistant formula with a high-coverage rich colour and glossy finish. My wife like the smooth easy application using the wide brush supplied and she then used her UV nail lamp to get faster results when drying. She found this rather neutral grey shade to be a colour she liked more than she expected, and having had a shellac coating on her nails quite recently she needed a good quality nail product to use once the shellac had been removed - this nail polish from Essie proved to be just what was needed. This Chinchilly Grey is just one shade from this multi-shade collection of Essie nail polishes so there should be something to suit everyone – my wife says it is decent value at around a tenner for13.5 ml currently from Amazon and comes recommended by her.

essie Original Nail Polish, Nude and Neutral Shades, 4 Pearly White 13.5 mlI handed this to my wife to try. This is the Summer Nudes Due kit.The polish. This is a polish that sets to give a gloss like finish without using a UV lamp for drying and hardening. There is 13.5 ml in the bottle. It comes in the normal essie twist design bottle.Application.It is easy to apply and dries evenly and very hard, glossy and long lasting.Durability.I did my nails in the morning and worked during the day and it did not chip or scratch. It seems very durable and resistant to the rigours of daily life. I had my hands in water a lot and that did not seem to matter.Essie nail varnishes are one of the best out there for durability.Overall.A nice finish which is quite durable and the colour range is very good. I liked this very much. I have a lot of essie products and find the to be among the best I have every used. The nail varnishes are very strong, easy to apply, long lasting and very tough.
