I’m a big OPI fan, and have been for around 10 or so years now. In fact it pretty much has been the only brand of nail polishes that I have purchased. That’s because I believe the quality is there, the shade range is diverse, and they are a cruelty free brand.I tend not to buy too many nail polishes nowadays however, preferring for the most part to use false nails.I do in the spring/summer months use polish of course for my pedicures though, so there is always use for a couple of new shades to add to my collection. This set of polishes is from the Mexico collection, and is aimed at being fairly upbeat, bright, and well Mexican I guess. The set is comprised of 5 mini shades, which I do find great for taking travelling, or even popping in my handbag with me for touch ups if a dreaded chip occurs. The colours in this set are clear, white, black, orange, and pink. The orange and pink shades being bright and summery.I always use a clear coat before and after using colour on the nails, which is essentially doing the job of a base/top coat, so it’s always handy to have one of these in a set.The pink and orange I find will be great for the spring and summer months, and the black is chic and makes quite the statement, it’s a nice shade to rock when wearing a chic all black outfit. It’s the white I can’t get along with. It doesn’t look good at all, and applies in a way that looks so terribly cheap and fake. I hate to say that about a brand that I love, but I can’t get behind something I believe will suit no-one. I don’t know who thought the white would be a good idea, but they were wrong. I’d instead of added maybe a lime green to the mix- in keeping with the Mexican theme, and a bold shade that would be unique.OPI colours do last well, and are good value for money. They just didn’t get this collection quite right.

This is Mrs G’s review==================Orange isn’t my favourite colour, but this isn’t bad, not that I’m judging the varnish purely by colour.OPI varnishes are undoubtedly high-quality. This wears well without chipping easily. A single coat is enough, if you’re short of time, and you’re certainly unlikely to want more than two. I used a base coat and two of varnish but no top coat because I wanted to see how well it wore without. The answer is that it survived a gardening session, mainly without gloves, which is pretty impressive.Unfortunately, I found it tricky to apply. Firstly, the brush doesn’t splay as much as some, so at least two overlapping strokes are needed on each nail, and it’s difficult to get into the edges of the nails without applying varnish to adjacent skin. The varnish dries very quickly, which is great, but you do have to work fast to make sure overlapping strokes merge neatly. If you’re slow, you can finish up with ridges at the overlaps.Maybe I’m just incompetent, but I’d suggest giving the brush a try before buying, to see how you get on with it. The varnish itself is certainly first-rate though.

This is Mrs G’s review==================It’s great to have a primer and top coat in this set. I like the three shades except perhaps Telenovela Me About It which is a bit orange for my taste.OPI varnishes are undoubtedly high-quality. These wear well without chipping easily. A single coat is enough, if you’re short of time, and you’re certainly unlikely to want more than two. I used a base coat and two of varnish but no top coat because I wanted to see how well it wore without. The answer is that it survived a gardening session, mainly without gloves, which is pretty impressive.I’m not keen on the brushes in the big bottles. They don’t splay as much as some. I get on better with the smaller brushes in these miniatures, although they’re fiddlier to hold. The varnish dries very quickly, which is great, but you do have to work fast to make sure overlapping strokes merge neatly. If you’re slow, you can finish up with ridges at the overlaps.I like the idea of sets of miniatures. This one is nicely packaged and would make a good gift…or just treat yourself!

OPI Mexico City Limited Edition Nail Polish.I recieved this O.P.I nail polish in the colour" my chihuahua doesnt bite anymore" it's like an orangey red colour.I applied a base coat first and then I applied this polish, let it dry and then another coat, it goes on very smoothly and the final result is really good, I can say that this O.P.I polish is the best I've used, goes on better than alot of others I've used, it's the first time I've had this brand! As for the name of the colour ..... i think its comical, who comes up with the names of nail polishes i ask myself as some are very weird!I think it mean that if you wear this nail polish then you will be free of ankle bites,it will scare them away ha ha.There is 200 plus more shades , i wonder what they are called ha ha.This is a nice colour for your toe nails in the summer.I can reccomend this brand and colour and at £13.90 i think its reasonably priced as i know the brand O.P.I isnt cheap.

Colour - this is a coral-ish colour. It is definitely a summer colour that will look amazing with a tan.Ease of application - this is reasonably easy to apply. OPI brushes are not my favourite as they seem quite long and thin but you can easily cover a nail with three strokes.Longevity - I used a base coat, two coats of this nail polish and a top coat. I think you could get away with one coat but you get a much smoother and more vibrant finish with two. I think the polish lasted well but not exceptionally well. I have nail polishes at half the price that last just as well.Value for money - I like OPI polishes but I have always thought that they are overpriced.I think if you love this colour and are a big OPI fan this is worth getting. Otherwise, I would wait and get a dupe from a less expensive brand.

I was a bit disappointed when I found the black was actually a gloss top coat and not a black. I thought black with the Mexico theme worked really well. You get:1 x primer3 x colour varnish (orange/red, bright pink, off-white pink hue)1 x gloss top coatThis is also a mini set, so not full sized bottles.I found the red/orange was very pigmented and only needed one coat. The other two seemed a little more colour diluted and needed two coats. The polish applied evenly and easily and dried super fast. The shine sealed the varnish nicely and left a perfect shine gloss look. This also dried very quickly.I didn't experience any tackiness with the varnish and everything applied super smoothly.Really happy with this little set.perfect for holidays or travelling.

My Chihuahua Doesn’t Bite Anymore (what a great name) is a perfect holiday shade. It’s orange with a hint of pink to make it slightly more coral. I find it looks quite bright which doesn’t look great on pasty white skin but will really pop with a tan. Application is really easy – it’s liquidy enough to spread easily without running into cuticles etc as long as you wipe off the excess before applying. It does however need 2-3 coats as I find 1 coat looks patchy. Going the extra effort to use a base coat and decent top coat really helps with the longevity as it only really lasts about a week if you’re careful.I’m not sure I’d have bought this one though because I don’t think I’ll really get use out of it all year round – I would use it more in the summer though.

I thought this was going to be your usual OPI mini set with five nail polishes in it. Instead, you get three nail polishes and a base coat and a top coat. I was a little disappointed because I already have several OPI base and top coats and would much rather have had two extra colours from the new collection. This does make this a fantastic set for a newbie because they won't need to buy any other products. The polish applies well although the tiny brushes are not as easy to use as the brushes in the full-size bottles. I found it did last reasonably well. It didn't last anywhere near the "up to 11 days" that they claim but it does last longer than cheap brands.I love the colours and I did think the base and top coats are both good quality.

I dont have too many OPI polishes as they are rather pricy for what I want but I never say no to one if I'm given one :) Thing is with OPI is that for me anyway it chips too easily and never lasts more than a couple of days before one of my nails is missing part of the polish and I dont just put on one coat, usually 2 or in this case 3 with 2 top coat and cover the free edge. That said I love the neon orange colour and the name too, OPI have some great names for their colours! Their brush is nice to use and covers well, fairly thick and you can put it on in one swipe.

I love OPI POLISHes. They are consistent in performance and quality. Their color palette is large and extensive. The color goes on silky smooth over any topcoat and the color is so rich I barely need a second coat and at that, just on the first and second toes. This is a very pretty blue a bit deeper and more subdued than other blues perfect for me looked to me to have ever so slight green undertones. Polish lasted 3 weeks with no chips or fades during summer wearing flip flops all the time. Highly recommend OPI great value for the money!

OPI Mexico City Limited Edition Nail Polish, My Chihuahua Doesn’T Bite Anymore 15ml is another great nail polish from OPI. I love the strong vibrant colour with the added bonus it is one which will get you noticed.I have been a fan of OPI as they not only produce great nail polish, they are always on-trend.They also have an excellent applicator as the brush is the perfect size to fully coat the finger/toenail in one stroke making a nice even application. This is a good quality product which I am happy to recommend.

But pink will not open :(( If I try to force it, I know the bottle will break. The colours are lovely and they match well with my Mediterranean-has-lived-in-sunless-England-too-long skin hue. The shine is fantastic and the varnish has a good life. Pity about the pink! I hope this is not a thing with other sets and that I was just unlucky to get the one that won't open. PS: if you have arthritic or big hands, you might find it hard to open the bottles as they are so tiny.

I am a fan of OPI nail polish and this little kit is a useful summer holiday collection. I am not sure I'll use the white colour, but the pink & coral are perfect for summer toes. Unlike some, I like the applicator brush and don't find it too small (it is better than a full size brush for toes). It is also useful to have small bottles of base and top coats which don't take up much room. In my experience OPI polish lasts well as long as you use a base and topcoat.

I actually selected this gift set so I can take it on holidays as there are a variation of colours and smaller bottles than you average nail vanish.I was able to apply it easily and it dried in a reasonable time. I would say the nail vanish is as durable as my regular one from a well known brand.Included are a primer, 3 colours and a glossy top layer.Amazing colours, would make a perfect gift for any girl/ woman who liked to make their nails look gorgeous!

A wide variety of unique, vibrant colours that are sure to go with most any outfit; and make at least those nails bold and statement-worthy. I will say, of course, that they are perhaps too bright for most everyone; but if brighter colours are your thing, there's no real downside to this product. The nail polish stays for days and days without coming off, and really easy to apply. You also get an average, decent amount for your money.
