I'm always looking for new colours and new liners to try out so was looking forward to trying out something a bit different. I must confess that I am a bit of a convert to liquid brush liners for the ease of use except for inside the water line where I tend to use a pencil so going back to trying a pencil for it all after quite a while being set in my ways was interesting. Now without sounding snobbish I tend to steer clear from the cheaper brands such as rimmel as historically I have found they tend to be very hard and irritated my eyes. I was pleasantly surprised, this pencil has a waxy soft and smooth feel when applying and goes on easily - without pulling the delicate skin around the eyes.Unfortunately it doesn't seem to sit on the water line (which is where I usually try to use colours other than black and brown) at all so pretty useless on this front. Colour wise it is a greyish blue as the name suggests with a bit of a silver sheen to it. Very pretty. One star down as staying power is average - a thick line applied had worked its way off after about 3 hours which isn't ideal. I didn't use the smudger end until later on but it's just a bit at the opposite end to the pencil itself with obvious usability - not hard to get wrong! Overall for the price - not bad ands much nicer soft pencil than I was expecting!

I love these waterproof eyeliners from Rimmel. I use the brown for everyday wear, then the black when I want more impact. They last ages, you don't need to sharpen them (just twist up the end) & they're waterproof = winner. Although they are waterproof you can easily remove them with make-up wipes. I only need to use a bi-phase waterproof remover when I wear waterproof mascara as well.I love the smudging foam bit on the end as it means you can roughly line your upper lid (I concentrate on getting right into the roots of my lashes), then smudge it up with the smudging end.... that makes wearing eyeliner so much softer, and it means you don't have to be so neat or be perfect at applying eyeliner.I find that way just adds some definition & depth. If I want a precise flick or fine line I use gel eyeliner, or liquid liner in a pen, as they're much more precise. Depends on the look you want, I suppose. The only downside I've found is the smudger end can sometimes come off when you pull off the cap. It's easy enough to pop back into the pencil, but can be a bit of a pain.

It's so hard to find a good eyeliner, Rimmer have produced some excellent ones over the years but this ones my favourite. It glides on and is easily smudged for a smoky look with the sponge on the other end of the eyeliner. It has a true black look unlike some other brands. It has decent staying power but I do have to reapply this once or twice throughout the day, which doesn't really bother me as if I'm checking then it only takes seconds to do.The only down side for me is, I have hayfever and sensitive eyes so find this is not as waterproof as it states. May be better for others who don't suffer from hayfever or sensitive eyes.It can pool in the corners of the eye's but I find that if you are wearing eyeliner on the inside rim of your eyes then all eyeliners do this.I've marked it down for this reason but mostly took a star off as it's just not long enough for the price, I have to buy one of these every other month so it's an expensive treat but I feel worth it as it's easily glides on and I can be made up in minutes.

Firstly, if the term 'blue steel' doesn't make the reader think of the film 'Zoolander' then I'm very much mistaken. I'll admit to having a bit of a thing for eyeliners, but as I have blue eyes, tended to avoid similar colours as they didn't provide enough contrast. This product is a thin, pencil-like liner which can be pushed up by twisting the base. It provides a nice defined line and the smudger on the other end of the stick - this can additionally be removed and the opposite end used as a pencil sharpener. I did find, however, find that the smudger removed too much of the product as it was made of sponge, unlike the rubber ones I normally use.I did apply it over eye primer and eyes hadow, however it did crease and smudge a little too much as the day went on. It was easy to remove though with a little Garnier eye make up remover and a cotton pad.In conclusion: a good product for the price point and the range of colours are very nice indeed.

I choose this eyeliner brand after reading the reviews. Not tried this brand before, but was amazed how fanatic it was. It goes on some much more easily than a regular eyeliner pencil which I normally struggle with. No sharpening required, just turn the barrel when you require more pencil. Glides on beautifully over the eye, which is fab for my slightly now aging (nearly 50 year old eyes), as it makes applying eyeliner more difficult with aging sagging skin around your eyes. Black is always too dark and dramatic for me everyday being blonde and fair, and I always have brown, so decided to purchase the copper for a change. What a lovely colour. Very flattering against blue eyes and a fair skin if wanting a more natural look.I'll definitely be buying this brand again. I really love it. Not the most flattering photo attached but it shows the colour nicely. I just added eyeliner to waterline and top inner eyelid.

This definer/ eyeliner is a revelation, an innovation, a transformation of a product that has been around forever, I used to wet a little tablet and apply with a brush in the sixties...Nothing could be easier than drawing the line with the propelling pencil style end, it goes on smoothly and thickly. Then you can smudge it a little with the small sponge pad at the other end. Both are protected between uses by plastic caps. The effect lasts all day and does't make your eyelids crinkly. Don't use moisturiser until you have done your line and let it set or you will end up a bit Panda Bearish. Don't push out too much of the gel stick as it will break off. There's even a dinky sharpener hidden behind the sponge, for more definition. How thoughtful all around.I am now devoted to my Rimmel London Exaggerate Smoke-n- Shine, even though I never go to London!

So pleased I discovered this product. Having always used traditional eye pencils, I was initially dubious about changing to this liner which looks more like a felt tip pen. But it's so easy to apply and the smudging device on the opposite end makes for a subtle look which is perfect for daytime, or you can draw a more defined line for evening without dragging the skin on your lids like a pencil liner. Another bonus is no more 'panda eyes' which I used to develop through the day - but not with this liner, which stays put. The copper colour was also a first for me as I habitually used a charcoal grey, but it is much more natural than you would imagine and goes well with blue eyes.I'll be sticking with this liner now - and it's an amazingly reasonable price too.

For the price it is an excellent black kohl for eyes! It is easy to use once you understand the angle for a thinner line and pressure to use. The colour is very black but you can soften it smudging it using the applicator sponge provided. It is medoum soft I would say but this also helps with line sharpness at the same time I guess. It really lasts all day with no issues at all. I would just note that tge crayon is a bit round and thick so you just need to get used to it and practise holding it at the right angle but if you use eyeliners you will not have bigger problems. For beginners I would say its a fab way to learn using the liner. The sponge is actually not terrible either! For the price it is a truly stand out product. Recommend.

It’s really hard to find a decent priced waterproof eye liner that is long lasting and glides smoothly. But this Rimmel’s eyeliner is quite impressive really. Such a brilliant price. Especially when it’s bought using Save and Subscribed and get 15% discount on top of Amazon discounted price. It’s so easy to apply and the colour is quite pigmented too. I also love how it’s a twist application, thus no sharpening needed.Having said all that, it does smudge a little bit especially when it’s just applied. I’m not sure if it has anything to do with my skin being a little bit oily especially on the T zone.Nevertheless, I’m still very happpy with this eyeliner. It’s so cheap I could buy all the colours without having any regrets!

It saw me through my teenage goth phase and now it does its job in a professional environment and out on a Friday night. There's nothing it can't do.Solid thick black lines on top eyelids or pull the end off to reveal a sharpener and apply thin delicate feminine lines on bottom eyelids. It also has a rubber which if you use carefully can create a beautiful smokey effect.I find that pencil eyeliner smudges and moves, I've never had that problem with this product. It just stays exactly where you put it! Its incredibly easy to apply and takes no time at all. It's very versatile, whatever your preferred eyeliner look, this stuff can do it.

Application of eye liner can be a rather tricky process unless you are extremely practised at the art; I’m not. This Rimmel gel eye liner is very easy to apply and, most importantly, it’s possible to achieve the look that you want even if you are not a trained makeup artist. The smudger is the key to achieving the look that you want. It’s fantastic, enabling smoothing out, reduction and even total elimination of the liner so you can be as subtle or dramatic as you like and not end up looking like a panda. If you struggle with application then I’d certainly suggest trying this; if I can do it, I am pretty sure anyone can.

This is my staple eye liner. The price when I got them was much cheaper than the high street so I got three! They are waterproof to a point. I do get watery eyes and if you rub, then yes you lose a bit of the liner but essentially, if you do not suffer from a watery eye, don't cry during the day then this holds really well and takes effort to remove at the end of the day.The best thing I like about this is that it's so much cheaper than other brands and to me is just as good. I have had a 'better' brand and the colour was rubbish, hardly came up dark at all. I would say if you want a mid range staple liner this is it.

I'm in my 70's though still like my eyeliner. Having always purchased liquid otherwise does not having staying power I decided to give this a go. Kohl pencils are useless, and this was a pleasant surprise. Gently without pulling the skin, effective, - you do get a good colour without it looking scary, and it does not smudge nor smear. Only thing is - getting it off is a little more of a trial, but I use a gentle eye make-up remover and cotton bud. Happy with the fact that it won't dry out like a liquid, as these days no point in putting on eyeliner and sitting in the house bored witless. A good buy. Many thanks

I couldn’t find the coppery one, which is the colour I normally prefer as I have blue eyes and the contrast is so flattering. So I settled for the rich brown, which is very dark indeed, almost black. And it’s matte, this isn’t one of the sparkly ones but that’s better for my eyes which tend to be sensitive.Goes on like a dream but if you want to use the smudger, act quickly as this soon sets, then it doesn’t budge, not one bit. Fantastic staying power.Very good price, completely waterproof and a good range of colours, can’t go wrong with this, but I did take off a star as the brown is sooo dark.

I've been using this for several years now and absolutely swear by it. If carefully applied and then smudged with the purpose built smudger on the end of the pen, it will last for absolutely ages and not fade much, or smear all over the place. I exercise at the gym, sweating profusely and it doesn't budge and even go swimming in it. If you don't rub, it won't move. The trick is putting it on carefully and really working it in with the smudger. The little sparkles in this one make it feel a bit more glamorous whereas the solid black one can be a bit overpowering. This is a bit more subtle.
