Making a purchase decision on what stapler to buy is quite similar to making a purchase decision on a car. There are so many models out there and in the show room they all look like tough, reliable machines that could take whatever abuse you could throw at them. However we all know that looks can be deceiving, and only after we part with our money do we actually get to put the claims of the salesman to the test.Like the auto market, the stapler market also has its ‘Lemons’, inviting to our visual sense but bitter once you’ve bitten in. The day we make the leap of faith to buy a quality stapler looms like an ominous raincloud, but now, through two gaping holes punctured in that raincloud shine rays of golden light,punctured by a staple from the ‘Rexel Matador’, possibly the finest stapler on the market right now.The stapler has come a long way since the time of King Louis XV, and today I have in my possession a model at the forefront of stapler technology. With its long sweeping lines and metallic silver paint the Rexel Matador really is a beautiful looking thing, and the rubber ergonomic thumb and finger grips add a touch of sport to the overall aesthetic. Nevertheless the Matador is not just a pretty face. The arm and base of the Matador is made of steel, the magazine and cartridge are made of aluminium and brass. This combination of tough, durable materials will ensure that your stapling needs will be covered long into the future.The Matador really is a sturdy machine, opening and closing the cartridge is reminiscent of the feel and sound of opening and closing the door of a top of the line Audi or BMW. The separate parts of the mechanism all fit together very well and feel smooth and precise when being used. The rubber ergonomic thumb and finger grips give the user great control of the stapler and will ensure precision stapling. The Matador is also a pleasure to reload. The magazine takes just the right amount of pressure to open and has a very high quality feel. The Matador is classy yet durable. My hats off to the Engineers at Rexel.My favourite design aspect of the Matador has to be the staple removal spike located to rear of the Matador’s base. The staple removal spike allows me to quickly and easily remove any inaccurate staples (let’s face it, nobody’s perfect!). No longer shall we suffer the embarrassment of handing up badly stapled documents. The Matador has got us covered!The Engineers at Rexel have quoted the Matador as being able to staple up to a maximum of 25 pages of standard printing paper, a modest quote. Through my own testing I have recorded a maximum of 28 pages stapled, which means that the Matador has far higher stapling capabilities than any other stapler in its class.In my opinion there is no point in considering any other stapler because the Rexel Matador has got it all. Style, performance and durability are the three aspects of a quality stapler that today’s manufacturers seldom achieve. I believe that with the Matador, the Engineers at Rexel have set a new benchmark in the world of stapling, and because of the competitive nature of today’s stapler market I feel that we may witness some interesting developments in stapler technology in the not so distant future.Whether you are working in a fast paced stapling environment or are an avid stapling enthusiast I strongly recommend you to consider adding the Rexel Matador to your office arsenal soon. The "Rexel Matador Half Strip Stapler, 25 Sheet Capacity, Metal Body, Blue and Silver, 2100951" is the current version of this classic mid-sized personal desktop stapler; there are larger models that will often be shared. As with many Rexel staplers, it has seen a re-design in recent years that has given it a more rounded shape and different colour options. It will accept both 26/6 and 16 gauge staples, the latter of the same width but using a slightly greater thickness of steel for a more secure bind where that may be required. The lighter 26/6 staples are possibly the most often used in the workplace and suitable for general jobs involving up to around 20 sheets of 80 gsm stationery; with 16 gauge staples loaded,25 sheets are a possibility.The machine is a top-loader and accepts a standard half-strip length of either size, typically around 100 of 26/6 and several fewer of 16 gauge staples. Made mostly of metal with a plastic strike plate, it is available in three colours. With its rotating anvil, it will staple and pin, the latter a one-time necessity for a now infrequently required situation. Tacking is another option. Its base is smooth and shaped with a small 'beak' at the front to provide comfort in the hand. There is also a simple lever-style staple extractor to the rear which should prove capable of removing most, while not completely removing the occasional need for a dedicated remover.The stapler is strongly made and could potentially and reliably provide a decade or more of successful use in a busy workplace where it may be needed many times daily. Importantly, it is also fairly priced. It is supplied empty and with nothing else in the box but most workplaces will probably have 26/6 staples available for other staplers to enable you to get started; personal users may need to purchase either or both gauges.

I recieved this yesterday and was really pleased.I recently got a little case thing which is actually a filing case with lots of pockets to hold papers and I have become SO much more organised since.When I saw this I thought I just had to have it,I have a little plastic one but it can only manage 3/4 sheets at a time.When this arrived I was surprised at just how heavy and solid it felt.It also feels really comfortable in your hand.I couldn’t wait to use it and that was when I realised this stapler doesn’t come with any staples oh no.I tried the staples out of my little plastic one but they were much too small.Luckily my husband works in an office and I was able to tell him size and his officemanager gave him a few strips when he told her my sorry tale,so even though I had to wait the entire day I was eventually able to test it out.It was worth the wait lol it’s hard to believe I could get so excited about a stapler but it handled 10,15 sheets with ease.The packaging says up to 25 sheets and obviously I had to try and Yes it does staple 25 sheets.I spent the afternoon happily arranging my paperwork stapeling reciepts to bills all my reports where stapled together and paperclips removed.My papers are all so neat and organised.Im using this in a home setting ( although I do run a small online business) but i think it is sturdy and powerful enough to be used in a busy office department.Its an attractive design and is so easy to use no real pressure is needed even when use on 25 sheets and the staple remover at back of stapler works very well too ( just in case you make a mistake and have to start again).This would be an easy 5 stars but for the fact it doesn’t come with staples.It is such a small thing but just including 2 or 3rows of staples would make this perfect.

As a lecturer I have suffered the diktats of the Department of Education ministers and minions. Many of these directives have caused both myself and my students problems.Some of the most contentious ones are based around the production and issuing of handouts.My students have repeatedly told me that they do not want handouts hole punched and that they aren’t too fussed about them being stapled (especially when one of the decrees said that all handouts must be stapled at an angle on the top right hand side of the handout with the holes punched down the left … think about it ?!).Not only does the DoE state the exact position of the staple but it also dictates the position of the holes to bepunched too.As a result of meeting these demands (because not to punch and staple the handouts as required would cost us valuable points and could have us declared as failing as well as costing me my job and my teaching licence) I burn through hole punches and staplers.I have used supermarkets own brands and other cheap ones only to have them fail within a short time and have to be replaced, hence when I find a good brand I tend to stick with it.Rexel has proven to be one of the good stationery brands available, in my opinion.The stapler is easy to load and easy to use. The staples are good solid metal made ones and they don’t fail too often.I am hoping that the stapler will last me at least a term/semester.

I've used staplers for years.My first job was in a \life Assurance office back in the 1970s when we still had Lsd!(The money system not the drugs) so I have used quite a few staplers in my time.The ones that stood the test of time IE the bangs, drops knocks and such like were always the Rexel brand ones.I've had my red Matador for quite a few years.It has never let me down once.It is heavy and robust and takes the medicine dished out to it but always comes up looking good even after all these years.It takes some hammer.I always use Rexel staples if I can this takes No 56 (26/6) and No 16 (26/6) and there are about 105 in a strip.Changing a strip is a doddle.A big tip if you can is to get the 'chisel tipped'ones.Your stapler is only as good as its staples and they penetrate better and easier.The plate at the front can be turned so that the staples spread outwards and act as pins or as tacking which makes them easy to remove.The action of changing is simple and all the parts are made to last.The whole shebang comes with a long long five year guarantee but these little beasts are built to last for many times that time scale.A great little stapler that I have no hesitation in recommending.

First, spot the ‘deliberate mistake’ - order the document wallet folders as described and you will get the stapler as pictured!!!This stapler looks stylish in its red and black, not that looks are particularly important, for me it’s all about function:1) Please stapler manufacturers take note: it would cost you next to nothing to send your staplers out with just a few test staples included and would stop the frustrating search to find the right ones or worse still having to shop for suitable ones before you can even try your new toy.2) The stapler is heavy for its size, it feels very sturdy and well made. It fits in your hand nicely, having rubberised top and bottom.So you can either stand it on the desk and staple or hold it in your hand and staple. The bottom rubber is even shaped to make it easier to hold.3) the nicely rubberised bottom means the stapler won’t scratch your desk, but also it doesn’t slip easily like my old one did.4) the stapler has a lovely smooth movement and staples through multiple sheets of paper and even corrugated cardboard smoothly, without the stick and crack movement of cheaper ones.Lovely stapler, I’m very pleased with it and happy to recommend it.

Nice little stapler here, it has a flat base and therefore I consider it more suited to sitting on a desk or level surface and being used to rapidly staple sheets of paper by pressing the top with the heel of the palm. It can handle larger bundles of paper, the 20 sheet guide is accurate, at a push it can do more but it does result in the staples being bent and you are running the risk of damage to the stapler itself I think. It can staple thin card, thick cardboard, thin plastic, even, although it depends on how you use it and I would not recommend it, thicker card like a student ID card.The build quality is really good,when you open it to load staples the small plastic runner and spring which feed staples towards the opening from which they dispense operates fine, is secure and does not seem like it will pop out. There is a good space between the top and plate of the stapler for pages to be fed in for stapling. The stapler has a hard metal prong at the back base of the stapler which can be used for removing staples, I find this sort of staple remover to be most effective when removing staples from cork boards, when they have been used to pin up notices.

You can staple 25 sheets at a time.STAPLER========It's a stapler that looks OK. Usual looking but light and easy to use.CONSTRUCTION=============Solid. Metal and plastic construction. It should survive a drop or two.SHEETS=======Standard full strip staplers will staple together between 20 to 50 sheets of 80gsm paper at once.Half strip and mini staplers have a stapling capacity of around 10 to 30 sheets of 80gsm paper.This is a 25 sheet stapler. It's good. I don't know about you but a constantly jamming stapler on a busy paperwork morning brings on feelings of displeasure that are hard to put into words. Having tossed the last standard office issued stapler into the bin and succumbing to fact that I could not voluntarily accept the same (enter expletive) stapler as a replacement, I decided to buy my own. I have quite a small drawer to keep my self purchased stapler so a massive take-no-prisoners specimen wouldn't be physically possible to store. So, ladies and gentlemen, I present to you the matador! Wow! Who names a stapler 'MATADOR' anyway? That's half the battle won already! I must have it! Anyway it arrives and it's a heavy creature.There's lots of metal and rubberised surfaces and best of all....it staples! Can you believe it, a stapler that actually works! So a few days of rather excessive use, my stress levels although high remain unaffected by rogue staplers. Furthermore, I now sleep like a baby lulled by the security of a 5 year guarantee. Buy this for a significantly improved office life. Shame about the colleagues though!

Ever increasing taxes, the continued unrest in worldwide politics, cheating sportsmen who are paid for airtime to discuss their crimes.....these are the things that should annoy me. But no, what really gets my goat is those absolutely stupid plastic staplers that when you attempt to staple two measly pieces of paper just squash the staple in it's mechanism and leave a rectangular imprint on the paper. And no matter how hard you punch those mother of a stapler they're just not worth the cheap labour pennies used to make them.This Rexel stapler on the other hand is forged from what feels like pure iron and then smelted into a stapler. It's heavy, it's a no fun and games mechanism. You want paper stapled,this puppy will do it whilst laughing at the A4 ream that it punches through. It shows no mercy to what you throw at it and likes to have it's rubber grip stroked as a sign of appreciation after a heavy session of stapling.Excellent construction means this stapler will probably outlive as all......as long as they continue to make the staples.

This stapler is one of the kings of staplers. I remember having an early predecessor of this stapler 25 years ago and it's still in use today. It is constructed almost solely from metal, with a thin plastic base for stability. It feels very robust and has sufficient capacity to hold what would commonly be known as one bar of staples (in actual fact, this is half a bar of staples, but lets not get caught up in semantics).It has all the normal features of a staple, such as the capability of bending the ends of the staples inwards or outwards and a gauge on the side of the stapler which lets you know when you've just about run out of staples.It also has a basic staple extractor mechanism at the back of the stapler.The stapler takes standard sized staples, being 26/6 (No.56) and 24/6 (No.16), making it compatible with the majority of staples which are likely to be lurking around your house or office. It also has capacity for stapling between 20-25 sheets, depending on the thickness of the paper.Overall, a very good value and robust stapler.

The 'Rexel Torador Full Strip Stapler, 25 Sheet Capacity, Metal Body, Silver and Black, 2101202' is a sturdy (surprisingly heavy!) metal-bodied stapler, with a black rubberised plastic part where you press down to staple. It takes standard sized staples - Rexel No.56, or 26/6 or 24/6 in other brands, and holds two short strips of staples at once (the packs of Rexel staples we're using seem to be what they're calling "half strips"). If putting two strips in at once you have to close the stapler carefully or they ping out, however, due to an enthusiastic spring mechanism!The stapler looks nicer than the photo suggests - the silver part is almost a pale blue, with a metallic gleam, and functions very well.The stapler can be used for pinning and tacking, and has a staple remover built into the rear of the device (not as effective as dedicated removers, but still handy).Good desk stapler.

This is quite a hefty stapler and is heavier than it looks. It is all metal and rubber. The only plastic I can see is a small roller that the spring is pulled over. Mine is different to the photographs, having a sideways logo on the top rather than a straight forward facing one and there is no logo on the top of the base. The rubber on top and bottom give it a great tactile feel, especially two indentations for grip at the front underside of the base. The rubber base also helps to keep it secure on a table. A bit of effort is required to push up and turn the anvil and pulling it open to load staples. No staples were provided but luckily I have lots. It is very easy to staple with and goes through 25 sheets with ease.There is also a staple remover that sticks out of the lower back. Overall there is nothing bad to say about it other than it came with no staples.
