Exactly as currently shown in the above stock images, this is my favourite staple remover to date and I have just bought another, as it is currently part of Amazon’s ‘Add-On Programme’.It is a random colour selection from BLACK or BLUE, at the time of writing, and I am happy with the bright shade of the latter. The colour is shown in the circular cutaway on the back of the box along with the product detail (1st images below refer).ooOoo✿ RAPesco®✿ STAPLE REMOVER✿ PRODUCT REF : SR4SLDA(3)~ MATERIAL : METAL-type & RIGID PLASTIC-type~ ‘RAPesco’ embossed on the top.‘Made in China’ooOooMine lives in the dinky little cardboard box it is presented in, which measures around 5.5 cm x 2.75 cm x 2.5 cm,and is small enough to keep in a bag pocket but find easily when required. The staple remover arrives locked in the box and measures around 5 cm x 2.5 cm (max) x 2.5 cm. (max). The pointy jaws open by moving the little BLUE button (on mine) from ‘LOCK’ to ‘UNLOCK’, increasing the overall height to around 3.5 cm.Slightly less tight on the spring, I find this brand more forgiving especially for the occasional need to remove a staple from more delicate paper. Most of the time I use it to remove staples from various sized documents before they hit the shredder.

You might guess that I'm not someone needing to staple or unstaple a lot, if I tell you that for years I have made do with the little prongs of corn on the cob forks, curved nail scissors, tiny computer/tech stuff screwdrivers and the like to meet my 'must unstaple this now' needs. Cursing, invariably stabbing myself, tearing the paper and all the rest, and idly thinking that there must be some sort of device specifically for unstapling and I really should get one. Before promptly forgetting till next time the need to wield and damage the prongs of corn on the cob holders.BUT now I too have a home which qualifies to be called a home with the addition of the 5 star staple remover black. It does the deed.PerfectlyAlas, though, unlike those earlier tools with another function which COULD be tortuously used to prise staples from their homes, I think I shall not be able to press this little tool into use at the dinner table with corn cobs, nor for any techy dismantles I may feel impelled to engage in, nor even for the finer pursuits of manicuring.I think this magnificent 5 star staple remover black, despite its fitness for purpose, is a one trick pony.

The 'Rapesco Safety Staple Remover - Random Black/Blue' follows very closely the design of one very similar first used decades ago. That, from memory, was all metal but this uses plastic grips and also has a locking feature should it be carried in a pocket or bag. There are alternatives, but these are the easiest to use and especially with lightweight staples. The remover is ideal for use with staples most likely to be encountered and used in most workplaces which will probably include 24/6, 26/6 and 26/8 sizes. It may also work with some heavier guages such as the 923 or 73 but personal choice is for a heavy duty remover specifically for those and similar difficult to remove staples as it is usually results in cleaner removal with fewer paper tears. The remover is small, light in weight and inexpensive to purchase and will probably cope with more than 90% of staples most users will ever encounter. In most instances, closing the jaws under a staple will achieve the desired result for a few sheets but larger quantities may require additional effort.

A very useful item that makes staple removal a relatively straightforward process and much easier and safer than some of the alternatives such as using scissors. All you need to do is use the extractor once on the closed ends of the staple before flipping over to remove fully from the front – this leaves a neater finish with less tendency for paper to be torn in the removal process. It feels well made, with a comfortable finger grip and a little clip that slides into place to hold the extractor shut when not in use. Unfortunately, in common with other extractors I have used, that little clip has a tendency to slide into the shut position in use, which means you need to unlock again before continuing to remove staples. The problem, if it presents, can be remedied (permanently) by carefully cutting the clip off and just living with an extractor that cannot be clipped shut.It is an essential item in an office and useful to have at home if you scan documents or otherwise just need to remove staples with little chance of any personal injury.

The Department of Education dictate that all handouts must be stapled and hole punched prior to handing them to the students. Most of my students have stated that they don’t want the handouts punched or stapled. The problem is the DoE inspectors can dock valuable points from the lecturer/tutor, from the course, from the department and from the institution if we don’t punch and staple them.Due to the number of handouts I have to staple there are bound to be staples which fail to puncture all the way through the handout (usually when I am getting tired and can’t apply enough pressure). When this happens I have to unpick the staple and apply a new one.In order to unpick the failed staple I eitherhave to use my finger nails or one of these removers. These little things are wonderful (especially if you have ever had that horrible moment of pain and realisation that the staple has shot up under the nail and punched the skin). They are easy to use and are perfect to carry in your pencil case or have in your desk drawer.

This staple remover is much better than the one I use at work, which is a large thing that takes up a lot of room in the drawer and is always open, meaning it's easy to catch unwary fingers as they reach into the drawer for it. Now, if I were removing staples every day, several times a day, then I would want a large staple remover, but what I actually want is a small, low volume, portable one that can even fit in my pocket if needed. One exactly like this. When you close it, you slide the small button across and it locks in place – so there's no accidental nipping of fingers. When you use it, the spring allows it to snap back into the open position and the plastic grips are comfortable and make the remover easy to use, even if you're removing several staples one after the other. It removes them cleanly, so when you do it it's a smooth action. This would be perfect for use at work, but sorry work, this is staying in my stationery cupboard.

There are certain things which you never seem to have, or can never seem to find, and one of those is a staple remover. I have a home office, I am a reading mentor (involving a great deal of stapling handouts) and I work in a busy college, and so I am constantly using staplers. However, if I need to photocopy quickly, it is easier to remove the staples neatly so you can feed the papers through the machine. Rip them out and you end up hurting your fingers and having the papers catch. For the price, this is a simple, but extremely useful item. With well designed plastic edges, you can pinch this together and pull out staples without hurting your hands and it does not result in papers being damaged. It is quite small and takes up little room, but it works much better than integral staple removers, sometimes found on the bag of larger staplers and is much easier to use.

Does exactly what it's name says it does and does it well. You pinch the staple between the jaws of the staple remover and the staple is pulled out of whatever it was stapling. I find that if it doesn't come out straight away, if you pinch on the other side too, this helps open the back of the staple to make removal easier. There's a safety lock feature so you can keep it closed while it's not in use, so you don't accidentally catch your fingers on the jaws if it's loose in your desk drawer, As it's only little, I've saved the box it came in and store it in that.It won't remove very heavy duty staples (for that you'll need a stronger staple remover) this is best for 26/6 and 26/8 staples (around that size).Great for general home/office use.

These are very useful little devices and for me this is the perfect size and shape and has the added benefit of being able to be locked closed so the sharp edges don't damage anything in your drawer, bag or case. I've tried it out on a variety of stapled papers, from a couple of pages to twenty or more and from freshly stapled to papers that've been stapled together for years - the Rapesco had no problem getting any of them out in one easy go, even rusty old ones. However, I'm only giving it four stars because sometimes a staple can jam the jaws together, not a problem when you're just unstapling a couple of documents but it would be a pain if you had to do several. Overall,it works fine and is very easy to use. Great price, too.

Does what it was made for. Hard to believe in this day and age I had to order one of these online but that's more a statement on how poor Northern Ireland (and the Belfast area specifically) is for selling basic products. Thank heavens for online shops. So I gave it a road test yesterday and boy does it work, you could hear the firmly entrenched squealing as they were ripped from their positions and had their metallic life force drained from them. Bravo to the staple remover and Bravo to amazon and its sellers. Booooo!!!! to wasting several hours in a city (Really? I have broken wind and created bigger villages than Belfast), trying to find something so common and simple, yet so incredibly unavailable in this Capital(sic).

I was pleasantly surprised by this staple remover. I thought it would be just like the standard one that has been around for years, but actually this design is slightly better. The concept is the same - metal jaws that prise the staple apart without tearing the paper. But this item is subtler better. The main thing is that the plastic grip is improved. It is now wider and easier to handle. With the old style it could twist in your hands as you used it but this is far easier. The second improvement is that the jaws can be held closed by a little sliding button, so it will take up less space and be less like to tangle things up.

Who'd have thought they could add a feature to a staple remover that actually makes you think 'ooh thats a good idea'! but this has exactly that. Its a pretty standard staple remover, looks like an angry snake about to bite from the front, just about removes staples fully when used (it might be my technique but i always end up with one end of the staple left in the paper but the rest pulled out) The handy feature is it has a little locking mechanism on the side. Such a good idea, those snake fangs are quite sharp and locking the device shuts not only means it takes up less space but also that its safer and looks neater

If you use a stapler, then you need a staple remover. The two go together like peaches and cream, rhubarb and custard, or the comedic team of Cannon and Large. So, this is a standard pinch staple remover that retains staples easily - as all good staple removers do. I mean a staple remover has ONE job, and if it can't perform that then it's effectively useless! One unique feature of this particular model is the lock-down function which closes the jaws, making storage easier, and the product safer. This remover is a great performer and will last for years.

This little staple remover is brilliant compared to a cheap version I used to have that used to send staples pinging across the room prompting me to consider whether goggles would be a good idea whenever I had to remove staples from any handouts,These little teeth snap and grasp the staple, and 9 times out of 10 it is fully clasped in the teeth of the remover, the one time it went wrong on me it was half in half out which still is a massive improv, rent safety wise.Basically a fab bit of kit to have for any paperwork situation or stationery kit.

There's not a great deal you can write about a staple remover other than respond to the question: 'does it remove staples effectively without damaging what you're removing the staples from?'. To which the answer is 'Yes'. The design is functional. The staple remover is robust, as I'm becoming used to with Rapesco products and the thumb/finger plates that enable you to exert pressure on the jaws to remove staples are comfortable in use. If you're wanting to remove staples cleanly and efficiently then this is an excellent product.
