Another dual-gauge stapler from Rexel that accepts both 26/6 and 16 gauge staples in full-strip lengths; Rexel's Matador is another recently reviewed, accepts the same gauges but is half-strip only. Curiously, the all-metal Matador will staple 4 or 5 extra sheets than this using the same gauges. What Rexel don't make very clear about this "Rexel Aquarius Full Strip Stapler, 20 Sheet Capacity, Metal Body, Black, 2100016" is that the 'up to 20 sheets' quoted capacity is for the stronger 16 gauge staples only while the equivalent for thinner 26/6 staples can bind no more than 15 sheets! That misunderstanding may explain several of the prior negative reviews. The Aquarius is a lightweight,light-duty stapler despite its size as its body is essentially all-plastic; only the feed channel and mechanism is metal. Typically for Rexel, it is a top loader. It provides for closed stapling, pinning and light tacking e.g. into cork-board and similar soft materials. It is an effective desktop stapler with possible use in the hand if kept within its recognised limits. With its full-strip capacity, it can bind around 215 document sets with 26/6 staples or around 165 with 16 gauge before reloading, thus making it potentially ideal for extensive users.Having long used Rexel staplers to the probable exclusion of other brands, it was not uncommon to experience jams with most older models which were then usually all-metal but with thin pressed metal pushers of about the same thickness as the staples it used. The Aquarius uses a pressed metal pusher but it is now inverted to present as a deep box, thus maintaining full contact with its staples. In recent years, various staplers from another brand replaced those from Rexel and are each loaded with their own brand of staples (in several different gauges for various purposes); jams are so infrequent as to be almost non-existent. Some models employ an 'effort reduction' system to greatly ease operation and to assist repeated short-term use, possibly also improving reliable staple ejection. With Rexel apparently redesigning much of their range in recent years, there is an opportunity to reappraise some models and assess whether the cause of the jams that were previously much associated with them was identified and resolved; the answer is apparently 'NO'. A lesser operating pressure could easily cause incomplete ejection of a staple allowing the next in line to become further entangled upon its ejection. With a weaker, less resilient plastic body there is a natural tendency to limit the applied pressure in fear of breakage and that is where assisted operation systems could be beneficial; Rexel do not normally use them. The reluctance to use sufficient operating pressure, causing incomplete ejection, may explain the frequent jamming.Probably OK for tasks with fewer sheets than the stated maximum for either gauge when reliability may improve and jams become fewer.

This stapler is a standard top loading stapler, made from all metal workings with a textured plastic base. It is a full strip stapler and can be used for pinning and tacking, as well as usual stapling needs. It will staple through up to 20 sheets of paper at once, dependent on paper quality and thickness, so is best for light office or classroom use. Does not come with staples provided, so you will need to purchase these separately. Compatible staples: 26/6 and 24/6. There is a five year guarantee, but this is only if you use Rexel staples too, so I presume it may not function as well using other brands of staple, which may account for many reviews saying it jams up. I am yet to encounter any problems, but if I do I will update my review. Loses a star for not coming with staples included.

I counted 20 sheets of 80g printer paper and tested this stapler ,It went straight through and was secure when pressed on the table top or when pressed with one hand ,it secured the paper tightly and you probably could have sqeezed in a few extra pages .The stapler was easy to fill with two strips 26/6 staples and the spring mechanism ensures they feed through without jamming. This stapler was better for me as it has the deep arm, enabling you to secure the staples through the paper at a greater depth rather than just the edge.the unit also has a soft plastic base so it won't scratch your surfaces and this removes

At 6 inches long this Rexel stapler is fine for accepting full length strips of staples. A label indicates it is for No. 56 (26/6) or No. 16 (24/6) staples, but for me it takes my existing Ofrex No. 80 staples – which is just as well as I have a box of 5000 staples. The guarantee states it is for 5 years if using Rexel staples, but I have no worries as the device is of sturdy construction – all metal apart from ABS press pad and non-slip base. The closing plate can be rotated to clinch papers with staple legs either inward or outward splayed. What more do I want – it deserves a 5-star rating.

Worth paying the extra. This is an office standard stapler and therefore suitable for every day use (literally). I have one of these both at home and at work and use them both all the time. Rarely have any issues with jamming (and only because I try to staple too many sheets) and it will last for many, many years. I have had the office one for four years already, and therefore can confidently recommend this stapler.NB I also recommend using the correct staplers for the stapler as most jamming issues are caused by using the wrong ones

This is a functional stapler in the sense that it staples well (up to 15 sheets with Rexel No.56, or up to 20 sheets with No.16 staples) and the metal body is strong and easy to fill (use the original Rexel staples otherwise you might experience frequent jamming with cheaper or inferior staples). It has a big "throat" gap of about 90mm, which is useful if you require it, but makes it possibly a bit too long and clumsy for standard use (dimensions as per above in the product description: (W15.5 x H5.5 x D3.8 cm, Weight: 299 g)

How do you rate a stapler like Aquarius? Well I was disappointed to find that this one doesn't come with any staplers, not even in it as a starter; I naively thought that it would. Consequently I had to use the No 56 that I've had lying around for ages. It does the job well and with out any problems. So it fulfills its raison. I must admit it feels a little more lightweight than I expected it to do, but it seems robustly built and Rexel is THE name in staplers, so I expect long life.Good, Like It.

A very smart, traditional looking stapler from Rexel - a leading provider of high quality office stationery and accessories. This is a full-strip stapler, meaning it will take a full strip of staples. The chassis is all metal, and the casing is plastic. With its smooth and positive action, good looks and anti-slip rubber underside, this stapler will make your desk look smart and efficient. A good choice for an office stapler. Recommended

It's hard to write a glowing review of something as mundane and simple as a stapler! For me this is an occasional use stapler in the office, I don't staple often and not in huge volumes so it's generally only half a dozen pages at most and only once or twice a week. For me this stapler does that perfectly so I can't fault it but a more heavy duty user may not find it up to the task.

Featuring a metal body and plastic casing, this is an excellent machine from a quality manufacturer of staplers. It can handle 25 sheets of paper at a time - so it’s not huge - but nevertheless it feels substantial and should provide many years of service.

Nice solid reliable stapler. Had it for a few months now and would definitely recommend it. Not given 5 stars and this means "I love it" and its only a stapler, I can't get that excited about a stapler.

Exactly the quality i would expect from Rexel, feels nice to use. Just to note, I did think it may come with a strip iof staples inside, but it doesn't.Very quick delivery

An efficient, lightweight stapler performs well and is just right for normal desk-top work. Doesn't do thick wodges of paper, you'll need a 'heavy duty' edition for that.

...... like a stapler should work. Bit hard to review a stapler.Does the job. Perfect for any busy office.

Great Stapler - takes a full strip, so no messing about with broken bits any more!
