My version of this kit was from a 1991 moulding, and I was sufficiently impressed by the quality of the finish. I had no trouble with fitting, no filling to do and only a small amount of filing down was required (mainly to remove sprue carriers).The finish kit is big - larger than I expected, though I've never actually stood next to a real F-89 so I had no reference.I read about the Battle of Palmdale and this was my inspiration with the model - a very interesting though somewhat revealing story about the pursuit of a remotely controlled drone that had malfunctioned and needed to be dealt with before it crashed into a populated area.Very nice quality moulding, good details, an excellent cockpit,
