I purchased this kit for my 6 year old, (he's been 6 for a few weeks)It stated 8+ and takes about an hour to build.My son put it together in 20 minutes.So if you're looking for something really simple and mostly a sturdy build this is it.The side mirrors come off easy, he unintentionally lost those right away. The shifter in the middle of the seats snapped when trying to put it in.The windows required a little glue to keep them from popping off. Which happened easily.If your child is on the older side I would recommend paints as this isn't a challenging kit.The body has a great blue metallic finish and is a good deal for the price.Maybe get some silver/chrome paint to add to the engine and
