I have always been a blade user....shaving in the shower at least once a day.I have to be presentable to the public in my job, so like to be freshly shaved for work, usually after I've cycled in.I broke the razor test down to 3 parts...pre-shower, in-shower and post-shower.First of all the razor arrived in neat suitable packaging. Most of which I was able to recycle.Not to much and not too big.The instructions were adequate, however a little simplistic. The first charge was quick and lasted a longer than I expected. Battery, top marks.Nice ergonomic design, sits in the hand comfortably and isn't too noisy.

Firstly charging the Philips Shaver series 5000 wet and dry electric shaver with SmartClean is really quick (5 minutes) and it works a long time (1 hour) compared to other shavers I have used in the past. However the shaver comes with a European plug and therefore requires an adapter to use in the UK.When shaving you need to shave in a circular motion rather than back and forth and the 5-directional flex heads do a good job of working round facial curves. You can use shaving cream/gel or even in the shower but I didn't find that it made much difference. However it is a plus that it is has Aquatec for dry or wet technology so can be used in the shower to save time.It does take quite a long time to shave using the S5572/10,

I have had an older Philips Shaver for 14 years! It has worked extremely well. The blades have been changed when necessary. The battery was beginning to fail, so I thought I would invest in a new one.I wanted to get another Philips in view of my great experience with the former shaver. The multi-directional heads really appealed.I like this shaver a lot for the following reasons:1. The multi-directional floating heads.2. It's a lot quieter than my previous shaver.3. Easy to clean.4. Fast charging.5. It gives a good shave providing you take your time.Things I'm not so keen on:1. No case supplied - I had to buy one.2. The need to detach the shaving head so as to attach the sideburn trimmer - the older shaver has a built in trimmer that flips up when required.

I have found that the product provides a very close shave without any discomfort or irritation. This is a key consideration of mine when deciding to purchase a shaver. I did however notice a slight pull on my facial hair a couple of times, not significant enough to affect my view of the product and something I believe would probably not have happened would I have used the turbo mode. The movement of the head and three individual shavers is fantastic which allows you to get into the hard to reach places i.e around the chin and along the jaw line. The trimmer also work very effectively and allows you to trim with precision as it is quite small and well designed.The battery life is outstanding,

I used to have a Philips rotary shaver and changed it many years ago for a linear one. However, I found that the razor I had kept missing parts of my beard and leaving occasional long ones, which ere difficult to remove.I had seen a lot of new razors with rotating heads offset from the main shaver. After a lot of on line research I decided to buy a 5000 series shaver.At first I found it a different grip from the shaver I had been using for some 30 years, but soon got used to the recommended rotating action and the pistol type of grip.I was also concerned about the battery life, but it seems to be holding up the same as other razors and therefore is not a problem.I do not like th option to wash it under the tap,

This is only my second electric shaver, but this is by far the best I have used. I found that it cuts hair much more efficiently than my previous one (even when new) and the fact that the precision trimmer was included has negated the need for a standard razor to straighten up my side burns. If you have the additional 'head' to hand it probably takes less than thirty seconds to change.As previously mentioned it cuts hair much more efficiently this is probably down to the fact that this razor has three free moving heads or as Philips calls it 5 direction flex heads instead of been fixed in some way. It cuts really close to the skin with no irritation,

The first thing I noticed about this shaver is just how quietly it operates. There is none of the usual shaver ‘buzz’ like you would expect.My initial shave after a full charge overnight was on about 4 days growth. This was done dry and using a circular motion provided a clean and close cut with little irritation at no nicks at all.The turbo function is particularly useful for getting through problem areas after a few days growth and found it was really effective on the problem area under my neck.I found that the most effective shave was when using in the shower with gel, which gives the best of both worlds in regard to electric shavers and a manual razor.The clipper attachment it handy for

I was doubtful when this shaver said it doesn't cut or pull hair, to which I was plesently surprised. To start with. The ergonomics of the shaver are perfect, balanced in the hand and has a nice thick handle to hold onto too. It's nice and light which make it easier to move in small circles as guided. The colour is a nice dark blue and black which looks modern and stylish. The cutting of hair itself is the best I've ever had. It's so smooth across the skin and you can't feel it at all, no pulling, no tugging or nicking or cutting. It glides across the hair effortlessly and cuts very close to the skin leaving a smooth finish. It does struggle around the neck area which I find I need to spend a little more time on.

Have to say, I was switching from a different brand to Philips due to the amount of hair/skin nipping my old razor used to do. Not only this but with constant friction burn I found myself with rashes and marks on my face and neck a lot, so with this is was time to change. I have been using this shaver for about a month and half now With the three separate razor parts on the head it makes the shave incredibly quick, especially if you are rushing out of the house like me in the mornings. The shave was always close and left my skin feeling soft which was something I absolutely love, much better than my previous shaver. I also travel a lot of business and this razor includes a cap for the head when travelling rather than a full case,

Before I speak about the details of the product I would like to just say one thing; When I shave usually, I am left with red marks on my neck where it feels irritable and sore.. I can say that whilst using this product the pain is completely reduced to almost nothing. There is no red marks on my neck/face and the shaved area feels super smooth!You can tell from the moment you open the box that this product has been designed with ergonomics and ease of use as a main priority.The shaver itself fits nicely into the hand and is comfortable to use throughout the whole shaving process. The standard head that it comes with is incredible, it left my face silky smooth and only took around 3/4 minutes to do so.

I got this razor to replace an older electric shaver and I've not been disappointed.With this shaver, I've been able to get a very close shave with little effort and find the charge lasts a considerable amount of time. It's also very easy to clean with the shaver head being detachable.It does have an indicator showing how fully charged this shaver is which is really useful. With my old shaver, I've always found it difficult achieving a close shave under my chin, but with the boost feature to get a better shave, this has made it just as easy as shaving other parts of my face.The shaver was very easy set up and quick to full charge. I've used Philips / Philishave electric shavers for the last 16 years as I always found wet shaving to be a bit time consuming and too much of an effort! This series 5000 is a long way removed from my previous models, in that it's very comfortable to hold and more importantly, doesn't seem to leave my face feeling dried out or sore from friction. It's a very comfortable shave and does a great job. The head and the cutters themselves all flex nicely and move with the contours of your face providing a good close shave.There is a turbo button on the shaver, which is useful for tougher stubble around the chin etc. My only criticism with this shaver is the trimmer part (for sideburns etc)

I used to use a cheap Philips shaver with three blades and I always had issues with the shaver missing hairs even when they were quite long and standing up, requiring many many passovers and resulting in irritating skin. However, when I got this shaver it has been a huge improvement. Firstly, it travels over the skin very smoothly and cuts hair relatively easily. There is a great turbo function makes the blades spin faster to help get through thicker hair. Secondly, it comes with a detachable trimmer. This has been kind of useful but I would find it more useful if it came with the plastic head which allows a certain distance between it and the skin, but sadly this is sold separately. Thirdly,

This shaver is an upgrade over my previous philips shaver and there is a clear improvement overall. It gives the closest shave i have ever had from an electric shaver, still leaving my skin smooth and irritation free, an issue i have previously suffered with. The unit is also a lot quieter than my previous one. As far as charging is concerned, i am still on the initial charge 3 weeks later, but the battery indicator on the front is now showing i'm on the last bar. It shaves just as well on a 3 day stubble as a 1 day stubble, i am yet to try it on anything longer. Even so, the added trimmer attachment comes in very handy to trim a beard left a bit longer, and to tidy up the moustache and sideburns.

I have now been using the Philips Vacuum Beard Trimmer for around 2 months and have been mightily impressed so far. Having grown tired of the mess that was created whilst using my previous beard trimmer, I was intrigued to see how the vacuum aspect would perform. Upon un-boxing the trimmer I was impressed with both the stylish design and feel in the hand. First setting up the razor was simple, and getting accustomed to the components was also straight forward with the information and instructions provided. The first time I used the trimmer I was very impressed with the performance, the overall trim was brilliant and the battery performance to date has been fantastic. The vacuum works very well,
