I currently use the Series 7 Braun shaver Braun Series 7 790cc-4 Men's Electric Foil Shaver with Clean and Charge Station Rechargeable and Cordless Razor, which I like very much. After about 25 years of dedicated double-edge (DE) razor shaving, I made the jump to modern technology. I still like to lather up for a traditional shave, especially after three or more days' growth, but for daily convenience, I do like the ease of the Braun electric razors. My son has recently started shaving. I thought it was important to teach him how to shave "properly" with a DE razor, which he can now do, and I hope that that is a life skill he remembers for when an electric is not available. However,I also thought he should have the option to use an electric razor and was pleased to be able to get this Series 3 Braun for him to use.The final shave from the Series 3 is very close, and unlike traditional razors, the resulting stubble is far less irritable (as it hasn't been cut to a sharp point). I never thought I would switch from DE shaving, but for weekday shaving, I really like the Braun shaver. There is a clear difference in the quality of feel between the Series 7 and 3, which is reflected in the difference in price. The series 7 also makes cleaning a little easier (albeit, not inexpensive with the wash cartridges costing a fair amount of money). However, for the primary function of shaving, I can't say there's a noticeable difference between the two. This is to commend the Series 3 rather than criticise the Series 7. Both power through stubble in a quick and painless way. Both require additional passes over hairs that grow in awkward directions (I sometimes have to make a final pass with a DE razor to clean up stragglers) and both offer wet and dry shave capability. The Series 3 is relatively easy to clean; I use shaving oil (Somersets Sensitive Shave Oil 35ml) along with some foam (Proraso Shaving Foam, Green) for my wet electric shave. To remove any oily residue from the shaver, I pump a little liquid soap into the shaver cartridge head and let it whirr for a bit before rinsing out, and occasionally add a drop or two of shaver oil. This cleans the head out pretty well and takes almost no time to do.The Series 3 has a rechargeable battery, like most shavers, but unlike many wet/dry shavers, it also allows use with the charging lead connected, for direct AC power. This is very useful. I don't know why anyone would complain about a shaver coming with a shaver-socket plug - but some people have. I thought it was entirely appropriate because it's illegal to have a 3-pin socket in the bathroom. Adapters are as cheap as £1.My father has used electric razors since the 1970s, and switched from Braun to Panasonic, partly because they released an affordable wet and dry shaver before Braun and because the replacement parts were cheaper. I recall him having to replace the shaver foils and blades occassionally and they were never cheap. These Braun shavers recommend replacing the blades and foil every 18 months. These are sold as a single unit Braun 32B Series 3 Electric Shaver Replacement Foil and Cassette Cartridge - Black and are very reasonable value. My only criticism is that this shaver doesn't have a trimmer attached. The owner's booklet refers to one, but that's a generic booklet covering multiple models. The Series 3 3000 doesn't have a trimmer (at least, I couldn't locate it!), so if that's an important feature for you, I'd suggest you look elsewhere. It's hard to argue with the performance, quality and value for money for this Series 3 product. For those switching to electric from more traditional razors, you will have to stick with the new method for a few weeks before you get comfortable with the process and your beard gets used to the razor.

First of all, I have to say that I have never owned or used an electric shaver of any brand. I tried to use dad’s shaver when I was in the Uni, but it was so painful and evidently useless that I stopped after using it a couple of times and switched (back) to razors. Since then for 10 years I have been either using them, or just a trimmer to maintain short stubble (which was quicker, easier and lately trendier than being just clean shaved). This shaver was a great opportunity for me to give them another chance.Generally speaking, I liked this shaver and very happy to receive it for free to test. It is very comfortable to hold; the rubbery surface means there is no chance for it slip away and either break my sink or get broken. The charge lasts for what seems ages – I have been using it for two weeks now almost every day and have not had to re-charge it. It follows nicely all the curves of the chin and very easy to move around. However, I was not completely happy with it, at least compared to what I was expecting. For once, the shaver feels very heavy. I realised of course, that to make it work there must be a lot of details in it, some metal, and that weighs it down, but I surely expected it to be lighter (remember, I have nothing to compare with and don’t know how heavy or not heavy the other shavers are). I am thinking to take it with me on holidays instead of the usual razors and shaving gel, but I guess it will weigh more (an important thing to consider in our ‘travel lite’ motto life). I also have to add that after a while it does not feel that heavy anymore and ‘saving’ me from liquid-considered shaving gel in my luggage is a great advantage!Again, I might be unjustly comparing with the wet shave, but the shaver does not do its job perfectly. No matter how long I shave, I can still feel the tiny stubble, especially if touching against the hair growth. I suspect it is probably the case with all the electric shavers, but I have been hoping for a little miracle. Even more, it does not shave well under the chin – I spent 5 minutes circling around my neck and still had some hair left untouched. What is worse, those hairs grow and will be even less likely to be shaved the next morning, so I had to take out my old trimmer to get rid of those. What I enjoyed is that it was not nearly as painful as I remembered. If I was quick and careless, it might get uncomfortable but it you do it thoroughly, it is completely pain free. I tried it on 1, 2 and 3-day stubble and it worked perfectly fine for me (except, probably, the under chin area, but even there, if it does not remove hair there, at least there is no pain). In the overall design, I would say the cover that protects the blades doesn’t fit too well. The thing is that it comes off too easily and I am worried about damaging the blades while carrying it in my luggage. I would have liked to see it ‘click’ better and more firmly into the place. And I know that some shavers have a tiny trimmer section as well – I have come to think it is the most useful, and not only for the sideburns or moustache if you have one, but also to those stubborn hairs under the chin that just refuse to be shaved off. If I were to buy a new shaver, I would definitely consider those only with a small trimmer blade on the side. This shaver is very nice overall and I am really happy to own it now! Sun holidays, here I come!!! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

I got a great chance this morning because I got a new Braun Series 3 3000 for free to test, sent to me from Braun. The first impression about the product was amazing because the box was so light.Inside the box you will find the wall charger, the shaver,a little brush and the manual.Once the shaver was in my hands I felt a so nice feeling due to the low weight and to the rubber on the sides that provide a really good grip. After I removed the safety cover I pushed the botton and the green light told me that it was ready to shave...After 20 days...The shaver seemed powerful while I used it,even before the end of the battery. The battery is good, only 1 hour of charge will give you 45mins of shaving, oryou can charge it for 5mins for 1 shaving. After use you can wash it under the water while still on, or you can take off the blades and brush it.I tried to shave myself over the sink for test how much cutted hairs could be dropped and at the end of the shaving there were no hairs or almost on the sink,so you can use it whereever you like without worry about the cutted hairs, because everything will be accumulated inside the blades cup.(I couldn't test it) Below the battery power light there is another red light which will lights up when is time to replace the blades and will switch off automatically after 4 times you use the shaver. This Braun has the Triple Action Cutting System and it means that the blades effectively cut both long and short hairs with every stroke and the three blades can adapt to each facial contour, especially between the jaw and the neck where we normally get more problems.I shaved myself after different days, and I will raccomand it for hairs of 1 or 3 days, because the final result is really smooth with a great shaving experience. The shaving experience changes with hairs longer than 3days because I needed to shave every single place more than twice, that affected the skin effect leaving some spots with irritation. In this model there is no long hair trimmer,so You will miss the chance to give a style to your moustache or your sideburns, but you will save some money and weight, because the 3000 is a bit lighter than the other models with long hair trimmer. In almost a month I shaved all the face every time, the best result I got was on the cheeks because they are flat and because my hairs grow in only one direction, so the result was deep like a razor. The worst result I got was on my neck just because my hairs grow there in different directions and that part of the neck is really irregular, so the final result was not so bad but the cut was not so deep like the one I got on the cheeks.Anyway, definitively the whole shave is satisfying and the skin is without irritations unless you use it only twice a week. The price of this Braun is still ok,basically if you compare the prices of other shavers and this one,you will realise that it worth.Personally I like it but i prefer to change the style of my beard often,so I will consider the next models with the Long Hair Trimmer included. First of all let me say I am surprised by some of the other reviews. There is nothing wrong with this electric shaver. It works very well and is at a good price point.I don't shave dry ever. I wet my face with warm water and apply shaving gel then shave with this shaver. In other words the same way you would with a normal razor (in my case I also have a 4 blade German razor which is pretty good). I found the shave from this shaver to be as good as any of teh more expensive braun models. In fact no difference. It shaves closer than any blade razor ever will. Provided you do it with warm water and gel. I can drag tissue paper over my face and there is zero stubble for it to catch. My skin is as smooth as a woman's. You don't get smoother than that and that is as close as any other model is going to get. So I don't see how anyone can complain about the shave quality. I shave every morning so admittedly I have never had a 2 or 3 day beard to try and mow. However I have a dark beard and a fairly strong growth that would normally give me a 5 o'clock shadow, though not with this razor. I have reviewed several other Braun and philips shavers and this is better in my experience than the rotary Philips shavers as you can simply go up and down. You don't have the aggravation of making some circular motion that you must do with rotary shavers. SO first off I think Braun make the best shavers of any I have tried. Of the Braun shavers I have used every single one gets a shave this close with no fuss. So as I said after shaving there is no more stubble to be removed. So it works. 100%. As for the rest of the shaver. Its very attractive with nice rubber grip which is handy as all the other shavers I have had have had regular plasticy material which does slip in your hand when it's wet so best grip yet. It is also nice in terms of colours. So for appearance its as good as any other, it feels solid and robust. It doesn't have a clipper for trimming beards or eyebrows but at this price so what.So all in all I cant fault it at this price. Shaves perfectly, As well as any other shaver right up to the most expensive. It has a comfy and good grip and it looks very nice. And its a sensible price. I think this is possibly the best shaver on the market. It doesn't come with fancy cleaning basins etc but then those require fluid and take up space. This works very well. Its a comfortable convenient size with no frilly add ons to take up space and cause clutter. Even the charger is just a simple plug in the back. All very handy and convenient and it works as well as or better (depending on the brand) as the most expensive shavers out there. No complaints. Replacing the foil every year and a half is affordable unlike other makes and models. All in all 5 stars. I reckon this is the best value and works perfectly. Just buy it and don't waste money on a £100- shaver that will not work any better than this oneIf this review was helpful please click yes

I only have this a matter of days, and will extend this review after a month to see how things develop, so my comments below are based on a 'brand new' experience.I'm in my 50s, and having used rotary shavers forever really, I was disappointed at some reviews for modern rotary shavers I'd be likely to opt for, and decided to buy this foil shaver instead, opting for a relatively cheap model in case I had to regret the change. I've only used it for a few days, but the closeness of shaves beats anything I have used to date, excluding a razor shave. I shave daily, so the stubble never really gets that long, and I think that this is where this shaver excels. No facial rash at all,and I had expected some as my face acclimated to the new shaver.Positives so far:1. A really close shave, more approximating a razor shave than I had expected. For me, this is the most important thing, whether it gives a close shave or not.2. A faster shave than my previous Philips rotary, though in fairness this was old, and I did need a replacement.3. Easy to get to the awkward areas (under the nose, jawline, neck - and it does a fabulous job on neck hairs.4. No pulling of hairs. This is a big advantage, but yes the blades are new. We'll see if this is still the case later.5. Lengthy power cord.6. Nice grippy handle.7. Battery doesn't seem to deplete at all.8. In my opinion, this is as good a shaver as the expensive models. Time will tell if it lasts.9. Definitely easier to clean than rotary models, though this point probably applies to any foil shavers.Negatives so far:1. It doesn't come with a cleaning brush, but I'd probably lose it anyway.2. It vibrates a lot, and is a bit on the noisy side, so I find I have to hold it more firmly than my previous rotary model.3. It doesn't have a pop-up trimmer, which my rotary had, but I don't know if this is standard across foil shavers anyway.4. The plastic foil protector is a bit fiddly to put on, I find I need to look at it when doing this, as it has little notches that align on the shaver head. One other minor gripe: the Braun video on this model has a male model 'shaving' with it, but has clearly already shaved! Who are they kidding.I'll update this review after a month of use.

This maybe the 'entry level' model of the Series 3 range but is by no means inferior in many respects. It does not come with a retractable detail trimmer (like the 3080S) or beard shaving attachments (like the 3010BT) but the shaving head and mechanics etc are near identical (the only difference of the foil and cutter being that the 300s is not the newly designed looking one featured on other models in the range - though seems equally effective).I have all three of the aforementioned shavers (plus an older version 3080s with older style foil/cutter) and what is useful to know is that all heads between all the models I've tried are entirely compatible and interchangeable with each other. This is worth bearing in mind if and when you need to buy a new foil (which you will need to do after about 18 months). New head replacements for the S3 range are expensive and yet this particular model is surprisingly not much more so: in fact for an extra fiver (at current RRPs) you effectively get yourself a new head plus a new shaver as a back up!However to describe the 300s as a 'back up' would be doing it a disservice: it is in fact a fantastic shaver and - if you are not bothered about detail or beard shaving - simply the equal of them in terms of results. I was converted to Braun shavers (S3) range a few years ago after being a long-time wet/safety razor user. After being sent one to try out I have not looked back - I still find them an unbelievably close - and safe - shave (remarkably even closer even than wet shaving). And don't be put off by the confuisng distinction that this is not a 'wet and dry' shaver (this relates to the fact that it is not recommended you take this shaver into the bath or the shower). You can still shave with this using cream/gel and rinse it under the tap afterwards (and like all shavers in the S3 range the foil snaps on and off really easily). In short this is a great shaver that delivers a frankly fantastic shave at an almost bargain-basement price.Totally recommended.

This is one of the cheapest of Braun razors but it still incorporates some of the technology used in their more expensive razors. They have economised where possible. Despite the pictures on the website, it doesn’t come with a brush or a curly power lead: Braun just include a very basic cord set. It even comes with a basic cardboard box! It does have a useful cap that cover the foil/cutter unit, although this doesn’t cover the power switch. My normal routine is to shave daily with a Gillette Fusion Powerglide Power system. This razor is vastly more convenient to use as a quick shave before going to work: I can do a quick shave in about 2 minutes compared with around 6 minutes for the Gillette by the time I take into account the time to lather up,shave and wash afterwards. There is nearly zero risk of cutting myself, although I don’t enjoy the way it makes my face feel hot. However, even if I take longer and try and be as meticulous as possible, it still doesn’t replace my Gillette. When I used it for 3 days in a row, it didn’t seem to tackle hairs under the angle of my jaw. However, I have settled into a routine now where I shave with the Gillette every other day and use the 300s when I am in more of a hurry. The two systems seem to work quite synergistically. The Gillette has a trimmer which this shaver lacks and the hairs that aren’t shaved so well by the Gillette are then shaved by the Braun the following day. It should make my expensive Gillette blades last twice as long.I have been impressed by the battery life so far. It lasts for a whole week between charges.I am sure that the (up to 10 x) more expensive Braun shavers deliver a better shave but so far this does a reasonably good job and is good value for money. At this price, it seems an ideal second shaver to keep at work to deal with 5’o’clock shadows. It seems to be built to last and, at this price, can easily be recommended for those on a tight budget.

This Braun Series 3 300s Rechargeable Shaver is an entry level model. This budget priced shaver has an ergonomically designed shape, the other noteworthy features include the fact you can wash the shaver under the tap (it's waterproof to 5m) and it will give you around 20 minutes use per full charge. In the box apart from the shaver you get instructions/warranty details, a blade cover and charger - there was no sign of the cleaning brush shown on this page. The standard two pin bathroom plugged charger will work with most worldwide voltages and the shaver has an LED charge indicator. This shaver is light and easy to hold thanks to the design of the handle and it's good for getting the cutting head into the curved areas such as under your chin etc.I found the shaving performance quite good and it removed some stubborn hairs around my neck too without causing redness/irritation. The on/off switch is easy to operate too. It's a pity the budget wouldn't run to a pop up trimmer as it's a feature I really miss and would certainly pay extra for. The reference to a quick charge feature means that you'll get a single shave if the shaver is flat from a 5 minute charge and that seems to work well.My overall view of this shaver is that it is one I'd probably carry with me on my shorter travels rather than use as my "substantive shaver" at home. The area of doubt for home and long haul use is the absence of the trimmer and although the battery feels powerful enough you'll be visiting a shaver socket more frequently than with some shavers to top the charge up. It must, however, be remembered that at it's current price this shaver costs little more than a replacement shaving cutter for many mid-priced models.

I really struggle to get a close shave - no matter what product I use it's always a balance between smooth skin and irritating shaving bumps.I have tried an electric shaver before, a small battery-powered rotary model. I was never that impressed with the quality of the shave though I appreciated the convenience of not having to lather up and wash when I'm late for work. The Braun Series 3 3000 was better in many ways. Firstly the large internal battery meant not having to buy expensive AA batteries (and you can never find one just when you need a shave the most!). The shaver can charge enough for 1 shave in just 5 minutes, alternatively it can be run straight from the mains. One full charge is said to last all week.As a foil shaver, I found it much easier to use than the rotary I tried before, and the Braun had no trouble with 3 and even 4-day stubble. The first shave was a little irritating but I found that by washing (and drying) my face first, I got a much better shave. The foil is so easy to clean - you just turn on the shaver and run it under the tap. Job done. The shaver unit is waterproof, but there's no mention of whether you can use it wet-and-dry (e.g. in the shower) which would be a nice feature. The main downside was the closeness of the shave. As with all electric shavers, you just can't get quite as close a result as you can with a wet shave. In one case I found myself needing a second shave in the evening! However, for many men I imagine the convenience and time saved more than makes up for this. All in all I'm pretty pleased with my shaver (which Braun sent to me free of charge for review) and I think that you will be too. In the interest of disclosure I was sent this from Braun as a promotional item, this does not affect my views and my opinions are my own.I have a full beard and was interested in this shaver to shave my cheeks (on my face :p) and my neck and to generally keep my beard tidy. I usually wet-shave using a safety razor which takes a lot of time and tends to leave the bathroom sink very messy. Since using this shaver is much tidier and more convenient I am able to tend to my beard much more often. The unit apparently affords a trimmer mode, I have yet to discover how this works as it is not immediately obvious and the instructions are not particularly clear. To get the most out of the Braun Series 3 3000 you will have to put time into figuring out how it works by yourself or by reading up online. That's about it as far as extra features go, there are more advanced shavers out there for sure but if all you care about it getting a simple , clean shave then you should defiantly consider this. As with all Braun products, the build of the item is of good quality, it has a soft rubberised finish which provides just the right amount of grip, and it has a decent battery life, I charged mine at the beginning of the week and used it at least once every day and it's still going strong.I would recommend this as a gift for someone new to shaving or as a 2nd Shaver for taking traveling or keeping at work etc. If I could figure out the trimmer mode this product could replace both my stand-alone beard trimmer and my wet razor and shaving creams. I've used Braun Series 3 electric shavers before, but like any rechargeable shaver, the internal battery only has a limited lifespan before it stops holding charges. The Braun 3 300s might be a little more of a basic replacement for the previous models I have used, but in terms of value and quality you would be hard pushed to find a better shaver.Compared to other Braun electric shavers, the black model Braun 3 300s is quite basic in its functions. It doesn't have a trimmer, it doesn't have adjustable height in the two-tier height foils. It only really has the basic cutting features, but that at least is one area on which there is no compromise made. It still has the Braun dual foil with sprung operation that is pressure sensitive, moulding itself to the angles and contours of the face, moving smoothly, cutting quickly and with precision. The shaver is light and fits nicely in the hand. The instructions recommend a four hour initial charge, but the indicator showed 'charged' long before that. When fully charged, the shaver will operate on full power for two to three weeks of daily use. Recharging is quick after that, less than an hour. The Braun 3 300s model comes only with a protective cover for the blade and with a two-pin cable for recharging. You might need a two-pin adapter to plug this into a UK socket. If you want a razor to offer more than that, Braun have a good selection of other models, but as far as I can see, the black model Braun 3 300s is by far currently the best value electric shaver on the market.

So after a brief wait I finally got my hands on a free piece of kit from Braun - the Series 3 3000 foil shaver. So what's my experience been like? Well, really rather positive. But let me elaborate: When I do shave I usually trim or have a wet shave. I used to use a foil shaver many years ago and stopped using it because it didn't provide a smooth enough shave for my liking at the time. It furthermore pulled and tugged rather than cleanly cut.But none of that with the Series 3 3000 shaver from Braun - I was rather positively surprised both at how comfortable the shave was (even after a few days worth of growth) and how clean and close the shave ended up.It's been the closest to having a wet shave without actually having one.The shaver felt tight and compact in my hand.It is sturdy, not too heavy and the perfect companion for home and travel - further helped by the long battery life. I really enjoyed using it and will continue to use it when I need a close shave but don't fancy or have the time for a wet shave. The only thing I missed was a separate trim functionality where maybe a blade becomes protruded to trim the edges of a beard or similar. For that reason it's a 4 out of 5 in my books and I would very much recommend the product to anyone who is after a quality foil shaver that's been developed into something that is comfortable, lasting and does the job well. The Braun 3000s was sent to me for free from Braun to write an unbiased review. The Braun 3000s is a well built shaver with a stylish design. It fits well into the palm of your hand and is a close comfortable shave for daily use. It only takes one hour to charge and a full charge lasts around a week worth of shaving on a daily basis. The Braun 3000s can be used cordless with its built in rechargeable battery and can also be used while connected directly to the mains using the supplied charging cable. There is a battery life indicator which shows you the battery status. The shaver is waterproof which allows for easy cleaning. Just pop off the shaver head and rinse the head and main body under the tap.Allow to dry and you are done. My only negative criticism is that the Braun 3000s does not have a built in beard trimmer to allow to square off my sideburns or trim a longer beard before shaving with the main shaver head. This leads to uneven sideburns as you have no way of trimming the straight edge unlike other Braun shaver models. You also cannot use this razor if you uave anything more than "designer stubble". Overall the Braun 3000s provided a closer and faster shave than my previous Braun 380-4 shaver and I would recommend it to anyone who shaves daily or every couple of days. I received my shaver for free from Braun and have used it for a week now. Before this one I was using a Philips PT720 shaver, which is a rotary head. And I alternate between my electric shaver and a normal razor blade. The reason why I alternate is that I find electric shavers just don't shave as close as a razor blade. And unfortunately this Braun series 3 3000 still doesn't shave as close as my razor blade. However having said that, I can honestly say that this is a great shaver. Compared to my Philips it feels much smoother against my skin and although I haven't timed it, I reckon it's a quicker shave for me. It feels slightly heavier but it's a smaller more compact model making it more user friendly I feel.I particularly love how easy it is to clean! The head pulls off easily and with a quick rinse it's clean as a whistle. What's great about it is that once the head is off there isn't lots of little nooks and crannys where hair can get stuck it's a mostly flat surface which is fantastic. The charge time is quick and so far after a week of use it shows no signs of needing another charge. All in all I really like this shaver and although I won't be binning my razor blade just yet it's definitely the best electric razor I've ever owned. Thanks Braun for allowing me to receive the Series 3 3000 for free and all within a few days of accepting the campaign. Normally I just use a wet razor after some poor performance electric razors I've had before. I was reasonably happy with the look and feel of the shaver after taking it out of the box. My only criticism is the universal plastic guard that comes with it is that it doesn't click into place securely, just tapping the edge and it would fall off. On opening the packaging first things first were to ensure it was fully charged so I had to dig out the trusty old charger adapter from the archive as it didn't come with one. After the charge I gave it a go straight away and was impressed by how well it cut the first time.Only criticism here as it's the entry model there's no long hair trimmer.......When using the shaver it didn't catch and pull at the hair as long as it was no more than about 2 days of growth, otherwise the odd pinch now and then. The end result was OK, a few hairs were missed. I have used it every day since receiving just to give a fair report back on it, and the charge seems to last for a while. Thanks again Braun I'll keep using this for as long as it works!!
