My daughter is right at the top of the age range for this at 11 so I was not sure how much we would get out of it.In this Creative kit you get a stand for your iPad or iPad mini, a reflector that sits on top and reflects the image on to your iPad camera, a white board, a big fluffy pencil case and thick whiteboard markers and a cloth for cleaning the whiteboard. You download the 3 apps from Osmo that this set is designed to work with, Monster, Masterpiece and Newton. The apps are very slick and get you all set up and going within a couple of minutes. The Monster app was a bit on the young side for my daughter, she was thrilled with seeing her little pictures of a balloon etc pop up in the app and be played with by the onscreen monster but she tired of it quite quickly. It is very well designed and the Monster reminded us of Sully from Monsters inc but a bit limited. The next one we tried was Newton and this was more tricker. The balls drop down from the top and you need to draw lines to bounce and roll them where they need to be. This was fun and there are plenty of levels so I expect her to dip in and out of this in the future. The real showstopper for us though is the Masterpiece game. You can choose from hundreds of pictures and when you put pen to board, you can see your pen on the iPad screen and trace along the lines to draw a near perfect copy. It’s quite like the Super Graffix thing we had when my daughter was younger but she had trouble with that as she wears glasses and it involved using an eye piece. The greatest thing about the masterpiece software is that you can use any image you like as it will convert a photo from your iPad into a sketch drawing for you or you can search the web for images of cartoon characters etc. The possibilities are endless. Once you’ve finished your drawing you can share it online and it records you doing the drawing and plays a little speeded up video of your pen creating the image which is really cool and makes you feel like an artist. I don’t know whether it’s actually any help in improving artistic skill but it gives great results for those who struggle and get frustrated and not being able to get things right.I’ve rambled a bit but all in all I am very impressed with this relatively simple idea as it has been executed very well with quality software. If my children were a bit younger I would definitely be investing in more of the products by this company. The coding and pizza making game look great.

Although the Osmo Creative Kit is aimed at ages 4-12, it comes with three different games and only one, Monster, is really suitable for the younger age group. Newton, which involves problem solving, is for ages 5 and up and Masterpiece, which helps children learn to draw, is for ages 7-12.That aside, this is a very clever piece of technology. You get a whiteboard, six markers, a fuzzy pencil case, which also acts as a eraser for the whiteboard, plus an Osmo system, which has a camera and holds your iPad in place. The markers were hard to clean off and the pencil case/eraser, does not work that well either. We had whiteboard markers and an eraser at home and found those easier to use than the ones included – however, they do work, just not brilliantly. You need to download the apps to play the games. The game Monster, is the one which all children can play, and it involves Mo the Monster, who interacts really well. He is doing a magic show and he will ask your child to draw something – for example, a magic wand. This then appears on the screen, as Mo pulls it towards him and your child will see the picture they drew on the iPad screen, with Mo. There are pictures of all the things that Mo asks children to draw, to prompt them, but children do not have to copy them. Also, the drawings will change each time you play the game. This is really very clever. The graphics and interactions are good. It works really well, it is interesting and has the added appeal that children get to see the pictures they draw on the screen. Overall, very good, but the accessories (pens, etc. ) could be better quality. Still, good fun and educational.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My 8 year old son of course loves electronics, but I keep him very limited to internet activities, so this seemed like the perfect option. I love that this kit contains everything all in one box! First of all, it has a nifty base to hold your iPad and a creative board that rests aside it. Super easy setup for parents like me who don't have a clue! Three different apps are included- Newton, Monster and Masterpiece. Each offer different options, skill levels and are all full of unlimited creative "games." You will also find dry erase markers and a cute little eraser inside the box!The Newton app seems most like a game and you get to add real everyday objects into your game!Items are scanned and entered thru the app. The Monster app allows you to draw on the creative board and bring your very own drawings to life! The Masterpiece app is more of a free drawing app where the possibilities are endless! All in all, my son loves this and is a perfect fit for the recommended age range of 5- 10, although I can see any age loving this. I even caught myself a few times becoming mesmerized by what all osmo can do! Genius! I love that this encourages creative ideas and play and I can rest easy knowing that my son is playing wholesome and educational activities!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Technology is everywhere, this is a double edged sword sometimes because of the nature of the content that reaches children. I found the Osmo starter kit to be both entertaining for my children, and something I could feel good as a parent about them playing with. The kit comes with some things to get you started. Markers are included in the set to write on the white board, and comes with three games. The pouch for the markers doubles as an eraser, And a camera that mounts to the top of your tablet. One included game (monster) very simply put was amazing. The premise was a magic show, the character “Mo” makes requests to draw items for the magic show on the board. These drawings are them transferred to the computer screen and integrated into the story. These drawings can change from story to story making it a different experience every time. The remaining games explore things like physics and drawing. For me, the best thing about the kit is that the content is so Interesting my children had no idea that they were learning. For me, that level of entertainment speaks for itself. Great product! I look forward to exploring some of the other options and accessories from this product line.

We were intrigued to try this; it's a way of using your iPad differently and comes with a stand for your iPad ( both mini and air fit), a base and a pencil case with dry-wipe pens. Instructions are minimal - you just need to download the apps and register an osmo account. I thought it would have been better had the apps been available in one, but all three are well designed and intuitive for kids. The monster game is probably a bit childish for the upper age range; at 11 my daughter would fall into this group, however she still quite enjoyed drawing items and seeing them appear in the monster's habitat. The newton game is perhaps the most thought provoking, whilst the masterpiece app is really just a means of copying something from the screen. The masterpiece app is creative in an open-ended way that certainly appealed to my daughter. We were both a bit disappointed by the nasty material interior to the pencil case and the fact that in five minutes she managed to mark the back of the base with the pens - perhaps tweaks here would help.Overall good play value and more fun then we thought. I'd be interested to add on to this set. I think best for age 7 or so, but still passes the kid test with older children too. We like it.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am always looking for fun creative educational ideas that will not only help my 6 year daughter stay occupied, but help her learn as well! Having this she has developed skills such as creating characters, different designs and the list goes on. Newton, Monster and Masterpiece are an absolute dream for me since they will hold her attention span for hours. ( Keep in mind, it is educational and not just wasting time). She loves electronics so she is constantly on her iPad watching YouTube videos or playing games. OSMO creative activity kit came out with a fantastic iPad companion that helps with both educational and creativity skills as well. She has been having so much fun with this. I feel better because now I feel like she is learning and not just watching videos or playing games. This Creative activity kit is a really great way for both parents and kids to interact together. It's actually really fun!. It is easy set up and what I really love about this is no wifi is needed. This will be especially great for when traveling. I highly recommend this to all parents with kiddos. This would also make the perfect gift!

This is phenomenally expensive for what you get in the pack, which is essentially (a) a whiteboard; (b) a mirror which clips onto the top of your own iPad; (c) a small plastic base to stand the iPad up on; (d) some felt tips; and (e) three apps which you need to download. That out of the way, there is something magical about what this set of components achieves. My kids are 6 and 8, and there is something for both of them in this set. It is simple enough for them to set up by themselves. My 6 year old loves "Monster", which is an app through which an animated friendly monster "grabs" whatever you draw on the whiteboard and incorporates it into his world. It is genuinely fun to see something you have drawn being played with, eaten etc on screen.Meanwhile my 8 year old loves "Masterpiece" which helps him to "trace" over complex pictures (e.g. photographs he has taken on the iPad, pictures we have downloaded from the internet) by reducing the picture to a detailed outline on screen, which he can then track on paper. They also play Newton from time to time, but it hasn't grabbed them in the same way.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Osmo Creative Starter Kit is one of the best toys I have seen in a while. It is geared for kids ages 5-10 but even older kids as well as adults would have fun using it. The set comes with the Osmo base (which requires an IPAD or IPAD mini to use it- that is not included), creative board, 4 erasable markers, eraser pouch and 3 game apps. The setup is very easy and only takes a few minutes to complete. My 11 year old was able to do this step. The game allows children to use their creativity and then bring it to life. There are a wide range of game levels from beginner to expert. I have an 8 and an 11 year old and they both really enjoyed playing with it.My daughter loves to draw and she spent several hours playing with it. It's a great tool that teaches the children so much. I would much rather than use their creativity than spend that time on another meaningless activity. I have been very happy with the Osmo Creative Starter Kit and I can't wait to see what else it has to offer.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My daughter loves to draw. I thought this would be fun for her. She played the monster app. She had a lot of fun interacting with the monster and seeing whatever she drew come to life. It’s a great way to be creative and use imagination. Plus it’s educational because she was learning new words. This was really easy to set up. Take everything out of the box and place your iPad on the stand. You just go to the App Store on your iPad and install the apps shown on the box. You will need internet access to to that. Then you open up the app and set up an account. Next your child chooses a profile picture and nickname. That’s it,your child can jump right into playing. The app will instruct you to place the piece on that goes over the camera but I don’t remember at what point it has you do this. I highly recommend this as a way to fuse electronics with learning and creativity. I think this would be a wonderful tool for homeschooling too.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] For parents looking for ways to get your kids engaged in creative learning and art, I would definitely recommend Osmo. I myself have enjoyed playing with it; hours and hours of fun and creativity! My kids loved it! So basically, what you’re asked to draw on the drawing pad (included in the kit) will show up on the iPad screen and is used to tell a virtual story. It’s so fun and really draws you in; the whole family got involved. The set up was very easy; the kit comes with everything you need, just download the free app. Cons: 1. To my knowledge, it only works with Apple iPad. 2. During setup, the device didn’t want to recognize the drawing pad. It’s supposed to sense it as you place it in front of the screen, but it didn’t. What I did was hit “skip” and it ended up working fine after that.Other than that, we love it and there’s many other Osmo apps that will work with it, so it’ll keep the kids busy for a while.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My kids are constantly on technology, and I often worry that mindless games and videos won't help them grow. Osmo is a great way to combine the love my kids have for technology with a tool that will allow them to explore their creativity. We already have tablet devices, so it was easy to use the Creative Starter Kit and add it to the iPad.I like that the creativity kit is designed for kids who are a bit older so they don't lose the creative play they are so fond of when they are younger. The apps are an easy way to engage them and allow them to draw and create to their heart's content. The only drawback I really see to this product is that I wish the Creative Starter Kit came with a few more games/activities.Many of the other Osmo kits have more activities, and I would like this one to have more as well.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My daughter has loved using the Osmo Creative Starter Kit on her IPad. The set up was very simple and it works on both my small IPad and the large one. I love how the dry erase markers have a dedicated pouch that also doubles as the eraser for the drawing board. The only problem I had with the app is it never would recognize the drawing pad that came with it. I would put the pad in front of the I pad and it would not register. The games were very entertaining for my daughter. The monster game was targeted towards younger children around ages 3-5 but the other two could be for any age. I am 30 and enjoyed using the drawing app and the ball game. The ball game was a little more challenging for my daughter who is 7 but she still enjoyed trying to figure out how to win each level.

This is an unusual set.....but a great way to begin using the OSMO range of educational products. You need to download the app, and have an iPad that is compatible, sign up to an account, but from then on it is great fun.We loved the simplicity. Firstly, the iPad sits on the cradle, with the little mirrored clip on top. Then you line up the drawing wipeboard in front and interact with the screen. Magically, your drawings arrive within the app - my children love designing their own rooms and watching individual drawings becoming part of the game, It is truly interactive, and engaging. There is further activities, accessories and Apps to add - the OSMO range is growing. But we all loved doing this, and I'm sure will continue to for a long time to come.Recommended.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We received the osmo creative kit. I figured this kit would be great for all around family fun time together and I was right! My daughters (7&3) absolutely love the osmo monster. They had fun playing with it together and with us adults. Their favorite part was designing a room. I love that it is compatible with both ipad and android kindle tablets. We have spent hours playing and learning with these games. I love how vibrant the dry erase markers are and also how easy to cleanup off the board they are as well. My kids use a cloth to clean it during game play. I love how easy to follow the instructions are for my girls. I recommend this to everyone with kids. They will have tons of fun drawing and exploring.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was really please after I got everything set up. It's really easy to download the apps and I am extreamly please how much it helped express my childrens creativity. They love to see their creations come to life on their Ipad. I have to say this is a really creative and fun way that teaches as well as fuels your child's imagantion. Great gift idea and also great way to get your children thinking instead of just sitting there watching TV or playing games online. Now days children as well as adults spend all their time on their phone or tablet of some kind. With this your child is still playing with the tablet but they are doing so much more than just sitting there in a mindless stuper.
