Great idea, and I was fortunate to get it at a really discounted price, which sort of made it a no-brainer. Bought for 5 and 7 year old girls who are really into Monster High.Pros: Notebook, secret ink pen (will likely get lost), light to show secret writing (from pen which is now lost), good outlet for them to think and write down (or draw) "private" things.Cons: The voice recognition to open it seems to be either really poor, or insanely sensitive. It can be really difficult to get it to either register consistently, or if you succeed there, to actually work to open the diary. I have had the most success by talking in a carefully measured, monotone voice, but that's pretty challenging for a younger child,

Bought for my 6 year old daughter. She loves it and likes to write secret messages with the invisible ink pen included. The voice activated opening is hit and miss. We can't get the secret compartment box to open using voice activation but it's no big deal as it works fine with the button. The voice activated opening of the diary itself works most of the time but even though we've put it on the lowest sensitivity setting (ie the tone of voice/way you say the password doesn't have to be exactly the same as when you set the password) it does occasionally refuse to open when I'm sure my daughter hasn't changed the way she says the password!

I bought this for my niece who is a big Monster High fan, I got it from the Black Friday deals so it was a bargain at half price, from what I seen of it on Christmas day it seems to be robust albeit made of plastic, I don't know if it is a fault or maybe human error but it took my niece a good 30 minutes to get it to recognise her secret password, after it finally accepted it her younger brother said the password and it opened for him which defeats the object of it, she has now told me the Invisible ink pen has ran out, so that didn't last long, I voted 4 star simply for the fact of the difficulty in recognising the password.

My 8 year old loves this Journal, only opens to her voice with password. Easy to set up and looks great. She has had great fun with it, loves storing bits in the secret compartment and writing secret notes on the note pad which is magically appears with the light which is included, this is a year old now and has worn well and still functions as it should. Little cheaper than some but does what the more expensive ones do. Very girly and a great buy for this age, especially now they seem to not want to play with dolls and the toys we played at this age.Prompt delivery, great price and good packaging. Would highly recommend.

This was bought as a gift for my daughter. I couldn't get the 1 she asked for which was a g-tech pink 1 i think so i got her this. It was alot cheaper than the 1 she wanted but with this design she was more excited & happy. We've all had fun with it trying to work out how to do the password function but once you work out how to do that it's a great item!

Managed to get this half price on the black Friday event - tried to buy 2 minutes into the listing and already sold out! luckily I was on the wait list and thankfully I got it that way.Brought for my daughter for Christmas as she has asked for this, I know she is going to love it !!!thank you amazon for such a bargain x

My little girl, age 5, is delighted with this item & has played with it no end. It is innovative in it's password accessing, which she finds fascinating. Would definitely recommend this, even for kids easily bored with things after a relatively short time!

My daughter loves this. She loves the face that no one and I mean no one but her can open it. It was a little tricky to set the password at first but we just keep trying over and over, and got there in the end. She really loves it.

A must for fans of monster high this is a present for my niece she has been asking for it for ages she loves the idea of a secret lockable diary that will only open at the sound of her voice!!!

My daughter loved this. Got it for her birthday last year and still takes good care it and had lots of nice bits with. to be better quality Tha some of the more. Expensive versions she's had

At full price this s over priced - but we bought for £15 - my daughter loves itand once you work out how to do voice activation bit its a bit of fun - notworth £30 but a good gimmick

Bigger than expected by far. This isn't your desk top sized diary. That said, it did appear robust and actually looked quite good. Present for niece who apparently loves it.

Bought as a birthday present for my younger sister. She is over the moon with it, will definitely need an adult to assist with the setup but nice product at a great price.

This is amazing, its my daughters favourite xmas gift, she walks around with it all day, thinking shes important. Brilliant product for a brilliant price. Very impressed

This is okay. My daughter loved recieving it but setting up the password can get annoying. She finally found one it will all the time respond to, so she was very happy.
