I bought this for my daughters 10th birthday and it has gone down incredibly well today. Lots of whizz bang for my HP mad girl.We also bought one for my youngest (7) to give her in July for her birthday too. However I think we will probably give her it early. The reason for this is that most of the REALLY fun stuff comes into play when you have 2 or more of the wands. Of the 5 modes, 4 of them are 2 player, with only spell training mode being for 1 player. There's still huge fun to be had but 2 together takes it to another level (as tested by Mum and Dad after a glass of vino).The training and spell practise modes are fun and great to test the Harry Potter fanatic.

Daughter is really into Harry potter and loves Hermione. Thought this was would be brilliant but not so sure. I think £15 is expensive for what it is, and if it did retail from £30-£45 then that's a rip off.Need to have a read of the instructions as to which setting you want to set the wand on, 5 different settings. Does get very frustrating when trying to perform a basic spell and you get the noise to say you done it wrong....Just waving the wand in a 'v' shape can be a hard task lol! When you get to grips with it, the noises, lights and just shouting out the spell, I can see why my daughter enjoys it and that's the main thing. As a parent, it's just buying more plastic flimsy toys lol!

Very nice, its a battery powered plastic imitation twig! It even makes wooshy noises at a push of a button.However, I googled some spells and they don't seem to work on my wife.She was a bit miffed, cleaning a mountain of dishes in the kitchen when I waved the aforementioned wand at her and chanted the spell:"Sleepwithme Clothes-offiosa!!!"She just gave me the best of British side eye and told me to bugger off.Maybe the spells have to be Hogworts approved.Didn't work for me so I repackaged it and gave it as a gift for a nephew - he loved it!!!

I bought for my niece, she loves it. The instructions are more complicated than I realised. Although you can just play around and press buttons if user is very young. We didn't manage to have a dual - didn't practice hard enough. Looking forward to that. It was larger than I expected, when you watch the film, you notice the pattern and design is similar to original. Price was reasonable.

Still not managed to change a frog into a princess- was thinking of getting a refund but then i managed to change a pumpkin and some rats into a horse-drawn carriage. Not having any stables i had nowhere to keep them in a 2-bed semi-detached but luckily they disappeared at midnight, so all is good.update: apparently frogs change in to a Prince, not princess. Thats where i went wrong.

Bought for a Harry Potter obsessed 8 year old! They enjoyed playing with it, mainly just the spell noise rather than the spells that you can draw in the air as those need some studying and patience to get right. It does seem that you get far more out of this wand by having 2 and using for spell battles. My child also commented that it was a bit bigger than the wands in the films!

I love this wand, brought it for my 9yr old daughter and she absolutely loves and so does her 3yr old sister so now have to buy another one. The only downside with the wand is that you can only do 2 modes of play if you only have 1 wand, but kids don't care as they get to practise the spells on the sheet of paper supplied. A must buy for Harry Potter fans young or old alike

Fantastic buy my daughter adores harry potter and picked this for Christmas with her own money she wanted harrys but didnt have enough lol.It came quickly well packaged and made my daughter day when she got to play with it Christmas morning and still plays with it now so thank you

My kids went absolutely bonkers for these at Christmas. Must admit I kinda want one! Love the fact you can play alone or duel, so even if they both don't fancy playing they can use them. Great looking and seem durable. We got these for the half price deal and are very very happy.

My nephews are huge Harry Potter fans so these were an ideal gift. The boys loved them so they must be good.I would have given 5 stars but they are a bit expensive (they are genuine though) and a little flimsy being made of cheap plastic, but most toys are these days!

out of all the presents i got my neices for their birthday, this stole the show. whilst it can be a bit of a learning curve to do all the perfect movements for the spells, even just waving them around and pressing the buttons out shone ALL the other presents i got them.

My 9 year old son who is a huge Harry Potter fan has spent hours playing with this! The sound effects are great and he loves entertaining his 2 year old sister with the rain spell! A few adult Harry Potter fan family members have also loved this! Great value for money!

I bought two of these (Harry and Dumbledor), and they are far from precise instruments!! However the children thought they were the best thing since bread in slices. Unfortunately one stopped working after only 2 days of duelling. I have requested a replacement.

I bought this for my hermione mad daughter and she loves it! They have to do the right wand movements to cast the spell, it comes with a book that teaches them, I'd say its aimed at older children 7+ but my younger kids liked playing with it just for fun.

I was dubious about yet another plastic toy but my kids have played with these a lot. They interact when there’s two and although games took a while to get the hang of, after a few goes they were merrily cursing each other to their hearts content.
