Having twin two and a half year old grandsons, who spend a lot of time in the car being ferried about, we bought these steering wheels as a means of keeping them occupied for at least part of each journey. They far exceeded our expectations. The assembly was minimal and easy (apart from the silly screw used to keep the battery case closed: that took a while to open). We tried them out first, then introduced the boys to them at home, rather than trying to show them how they worked as we set off on a journey. We were very pleased at how quickly the twins caught on to what they needed to do. Although they are sometimes too impatient to listen to the instructions from the 'sat nav',the mere fact that there are buttons to press and sounds to make, made them very happy.I did notice a previous comment about the stand tending to slip but the twins seemed to instinctively keep it in place with their legs. The wheel also adjusts so it can tip backwards a bit, to give a better 'driving' angle but it would be helpful if the length of the stand was adjustable in the same way because it was a bit long for the boys. All in all though, it was an inspired choice and well worth the search to find a toy they could use in the car. By the way, the wheels survived the drop from seat to footwell, when the boys nodded off, so are reasonably robust.

We purchased this product for our 3 year old grandson who has a real fascination with cars, and wanted to drive like his 'Grampie'We shopped around, purchased, (and immediately refunded), a similar product from Toys R Us that just wouldn't stick to the car window and then searched online. The product turned up in good time, (as usual), and from an adult perspective looked like a good pucrhase..........IF we could work out how to secure it in the car for him.My wife then came up with the idea of screwing the base to a thin piece of board, which now slides underneath the child seat. (Unless you do something similar, I would state it will be difficult to get the wheel at a usable height etc to a toddler in a car seat)The wheel itself is very interactive for our 'driver'and he's already had lots of fun on his recent journeys with us, so it's definately been good value. It appears to be robust enough and I hope it still has 'plenty of miles still on the clock!!'

Bought this for our 3 1/2 year old to keep her occupied in the car. Was easy to insert batteries and construct but the base of the toy does not fit under the booster seat as it is not long enough and would not be stable, also her arms would not be long enough to then play the game easily. Rectified this by her holding it between her legs and seems ok. She has managed to play the sat nav game but mainly uses it to drive like mummy and daddy which means she keeps her eyes on the road and is not suffering as much from travel sickness. As the item was less than £10 when we bought it is exceptional value for money especially when compared to other steering wheels that are aimed at younger children and so would not interest her.As for durability, we have only had for a couple of weeks but it has been dropped and hasn't broken which is a good sign and the plastic does seem quite tough.

My son is just under 2 years and he loves it. He plays with it when we are out driving and also at home. As my son is still small i do find that its a tad tall for him as the wheel is in front of his face but thats ok, he will grow into it and it hasnt stopped him playing with it both in the car and at home. Its actually fairly sturdy and a good design. With arrow that light up in the direction that you turn the wheel. It has a horn button you beep which my son loves as he used to go crazy in the car trying to get us to press our car horn..lolIt has a fast buttons that make sounds for car revving and button for car braking. Also has small buttons that announce different destinations. Ig. Petrol, doctors etc.Good toy, good quality, good price

This Sat Nav steering wheel was bought to be part of a joke Pathfinder Kit awarded to an old friend who got himself notoriously lost. In that role, I only used the wheel itself, discarding the mounting column. So I had none of the difficulties experienced by others in using the product as a child's toy within a vehicle. There was indeed a slight problem with the screw securing the battery cover. It came far too strongly torque wrenched into position, requiring a determined use of pliers on screwdriver to release it. A sigh of relief when that worked.Apart from that, the wheel performed fine.

Bought for our grandsons 3rd Birthday, as he is car daft, and constantly wanting to 'drive' our car. The steering wheel was a huge hit, no other present was acknowledged on the day, he took it for a 'drive' in our car, and it went to bed with him, 'just incase'. Definitely a good purchase. The commands are in a UK voice, and instructions make it fun, whilst teaching colours, left & right, slow, and fast. Our only gripe was the missing battery cover, which we discovered too late to do anything about, we have created a substitute cover which seems to be working for now. Would recommend.

Got this as a birthday present for my grandson. He will be 7, but he loves anything like this. The wheel is well made with a bracket that goes under his bottom on the car seat. I will need to adapt it by attaching a larger piece of MDF to go under the seat. I don't think this will be problem. The wheel has realistic car sounds including left and right indicators, acceleration, braking and a horn. You can also get it to give you directions to different places. The sounds could be a little louder, but I'm sure he will love it. Would recommend it.

Great toy to amuse apparently and has parent friendly sound control. I got this to amuse an 22 month old who was getting antes on the way to nursery. Mum reports he loved it immediately and instinctively knew how to keep it steady despite lack of any securing mechanism. It was a tad to high for him but it clearly states suitable from age 3yrs so to be fair would probably be more appropriate for that age. However mum reports a happy chap and pictures of his wee face back up reports. Needs 3x AAA

I bought this steering wheel to attach to my 3 year old son's 'car' bed. Not only does it make getting him into bed a whole lot easier, it is surprisingly resilient to serious 3 year old rough play. Although made of plastic, it has a hinge where the wheel meets the arm thus absorbing a lot of my son's attempts to remove it! One thing to note, I attached it to a wooden bed with my own screws as it is not supplied with fixings which is probably not an option if you plan to use in your car.

My toddler loves this however, the stand part of it is very long and her seat reclines a bit, so she has to pull herself up tall and forward in the seat to be able to play with it when driving. The platform part that is supposed to go between her legs is too narrow so it moves when she is trying to steer. She is 2. I usually here it being thrown to the floor of my car after a few minutes. If it was something I could secrue better for her she would really enjoy it.

Personally I like this, however my 3 and 5year old boys dont have the patience for it. They just want to use it to drive, and not follow the instructions to go left, right, straight ahead, slow, fast. I think, for them, if the instructions came more quickly after each other this might hold their interest, or the screen was colour with a bit more interaction. No problem with quality and we only use it with them sat on the floor. Havent taken it into the car yet

My toddler loves this. She "drives" us to our destination and it is quite educational really for a steering wheel toy. I was pleasantly surprised by it. It's a little noisy but not half as noisy as she is when she's bored in the car! It does have a two volume settings, but the quiet one is still fairly loud for me.The only thing that could be improved would be if the steering wheel could pivot a little bit on the stem as she would be able to use it easier.

Super little steering wheel, with different functions. Major drawback is that it doesn't fix onto anything so needs to be held by toddler alone. So when it's dropped they can't reach it to pick back up again (so prepare for a few tears if your on a journey and can't stop the car!). Can't see it lasting long as made of plastic, but for the price it's ok. Good product but could be so much better if it fixed to something and was made a bit better.

It's annoying, but my 4 year old son loves it so that's the main thing. Originally bought it to keep in the car so he can drive along with me but he loves it so much we have to take it indoors too. It has 2 volumes which are both loud for inside but in the car it can easily be drowned out to an adult by music or the noisy motorway. The little sav nav is a great function, and helps to teach colours, sounds and left and right.

The idea is very good and should keep our three year old grandson quiet on car journey's. However, like must other people there is a problem fitting it. Presumable the child is supposed to keep it in place with their leg's but that would be impossible and the only way is to fit a piece of wood to go under the seat. Every car is different so you have to work out what is best for you. Otherwise the product is a good buy.
