From the many reviews, there seems to be a problem with this toy and its batteries. I can confirm that this toy does make large demands on the batteries. At times, the current being drawn from the batteries is far too high for a lot of batteries.A set of batteries are fitted as standard but as the toy can be tested while still in its packaging and the toy may have been stored for a long time, the supplied batteries may be near exhausted. Replacing the batteries seems straightforward but it’s not. Many batteries, even ones marked with things like Sony, Panasonic, etc., while fine for low consumption appliances, will not supply the needed current. They have what’s known as high internal resistance, which means that when high currents are required their output voltage drops dramatically. This is why they seem to be flat when they’re still new. The solution is to pay the premium for high energy batteries such as Duracell. The other option, is to buy a set of rechargeable batteries which have a much lower internal resistance. This last option worked for me.Putting all that aside, the toy is fantastic. The amount of functions it has should keep your youngsters (and even some adults) occupied for a long time. The voices and sounds are really authentic sounding, if not a little annoying but heck, kids love that!I can’t fault the construction except to say that some parts are small and may break at the hands of some kids. This is a common problem with this kind of toy but if it was made of a tougher material such a metal, it would become too heavy and too expensive to produce. Saying all that, the plastic they have used seems to be of the highest grade, so I don’t foresee any major issues.Overall, this a great toy for the money but does suffer a battery issue which is not insurmountable.

We got this for my daughter (nearly five years old) for Christmas. I was a bit worried about it when I saw some of the low reviews saying it broke easily, but after being battered around the lounge for three days since it was unwrapped Christmas by my daughter and her two cousins (same age) the toy has stood up well.It comes in the form of Blister the Velociraptor in the box, and can be transformed into a helicopter. I used the instructions to learn how to transform it properly the first time, although this wasn't really necessary as it's pretty simple. My daughter struggled a bit the first time but once I showed her, she memorised it straight away. There are only a few simple steps to change between modes. The toy makes sounds and has a small screen that displays eyes or a cockpit (depending on which mode it's in, and there's a tiny button that gets pressed/released mid-transformation so the toy knows which mode it's in) but both of these can be turned off with the small power switch underneath the toy. There is one separate piece, a missile that can be fired out of a cannon using a yellow button. The force of it flying out isn't strong at all and the missile is pretty large so not that easy to lose.Assuming it doesn't fall apart with continued play (and I don't see that happening, it feels pretty robust), I really can't fault this toy. It provided a lot of entertainment since Christmas day and when we got back to our hose today it was the first toy that my daughter pulled out of her bag to play with again.

Our five and seven year olds love the Vtech Switch and Go series of toys so this helicopter/velociraptor version was a must-have. It is larger than usual but still manageable for them both. They are able to independently transform it between modes easily, no annoying points in that process so far where it might stick or feel forced/breakable. Some transformer type toys are far too complex without adult help but not the case with the Vtech Switch and Go series. The way the sounds and voices match the vehicle/dinosaur modes is great and this one has loads of sounds. The smaller Vtech Switch toys seem to repeat themselves quite often but this does not seem to repeat for ages which makes the sounds less annoying to adult ears. The claw launcher is fun but I suspect will be lost quickly. The trigger to spin the rotors works really well. The arguments over who gets the next turn says it all really. As always, two modes/toys in one is pretty good value since Transformers first did their vehicles/robots. Cool toy!

Thankfully I filmed this Vtech toy before I gave it to my 4 year old nephew or else I wouldn't have photos to upload - sadly only broken bits. My nephew absolutely loves Dinosaurs so I thought this would be an instant hit - a dinosaur that turns into a helicopter! Unfortunately he just didn't like some of the 'dino' noises, some really scared him, throaty growls. Whilst its still in the box you can press any button to get a sample of the 70+ sounds, he pressed a button and as soon as the growls started ran away. I got it out of the box to show him what it can do, he was curious but as when the noises started again he grabbed it and threw it down the stairs.I can only review on my experience and my 4 year old nephew was frightened of the noises. The build of the toy seems a bit flimsy in places but although I only got the chance to convert it into a helicopter once it did change well and looked great.

I'm a bit late adding this review - seeing as this was a Christmas present last year - but better late than never! My 4 year old had latched onto the idea of a Switch and Go Dino as his present from Santa. I had read the reviews and had many concerns, but he was not to be dissuaded. What a pleasant surprise! He was delighted when he opened it and I was thrilled to see how well he worked. He was simple enough for him to control, whilst having enough manoeverability and fun phrases enough to keep him interested. It was the present of the day and the whole family had lots of fun with it. Perhaps we've been lucky, but 8 months on we have had no issues with it and Dash is still going strong. One of the few toys that he hasn't become bored of.Highly recommend.

Amongst many Christmas presents he received, this is my son’s favourite toys at the moment. He spent the Christmas Day just playing with this toy (and he is not a type to play on his own...).He has two other switch & go dinos but they were the smaller ones (e.g. Torrs & Sami). I thought this one was of the similar size but nope. I should have paid attention to the size description.Volume can be adjusted at multiple levels, the propeller rotates and the “rocket launcher” (as my son calls it) works in both vehicle/dino modes. Not noticed any problem with the quality of the build. It’s been in constant use since Christmas by a 4 yr old and has not had any issues. But then... that’s less than 2weeks.Over all, very happy with it!

I bought this for my 4yr old Grandson, I put rechargeable batteries in it before I wrapped it, (it did come with batteries) I gave him simple instructions, then the play began, it only stopped when he fell asleep in the evening, it works exactly as described was easy to work sounds good and looks great, highly recommended, sadly the other in the range do not seem to work completely by remote control.we are over 12months on since my grandson received this, i have just changed the rechargeable batteries, it is still a very popular toy, i wish Vtech made another completely remote one

I will start with saying this is an expensive toy in my opinion. However, this was my 5yo favourite birthday present. He loves surprising his friends with the transformation from car to dinosaur. With Vtech you are assured of quality and this is no exception. It’s pretty robust, it’s been driven down stairs, bashed into skirting boards and had a sausage dog attack it...no evidence of damage whatsoever. I also like the fact it has an English accent.Overall it’s a great fun toy and a bit different to just a ‘normal’ remote control car.

My boy loves this, I'd say it was one of his favourite Christmas gifts!Impressive size, lovely bold blue colour and feels pretty solid and robust! The remote was simple for my 4 yr old to use and it fits nice and comfortable in his small hand.It converts from dino to car with ease and has cool lights and sound effects.Clearly designed by people who understand children's needs.Happy mummy and happy boy - very impressed all round!Came in a nice large box too so made a fantastic value for money main Christmas gift!10 /10.

This transforms easily from dinosaur into a search helicopter. By pressing the different buttons, you can activate fun phrases, interesting dinosaur facts, and cool sound effects. His face is an LCD screen, meaning he is super easy to customise. You can choose an expression for the display from a selection of pilot and dinosaur faces the battery life seems to be ok at the moment not had to change them and my son has been playing with it for a few days

Very pleased with this product! Bought it for my 3 year old dinosaur mad nephew for Christmas (sorry for the late review). Came back bigger than expected (I don't know why I expected it to be smaller like those robotic flip dogs?) but I took it out of the box to make sure everything worked and it had working batteries and I have to say I enjoyed it myself! It was easy to use, the controls very simple to get a hang of, and my nephew loved it!

These 'transformer' style toys are a big hit amongst my friend's young sons. I was a little wary of the toy given some of the rather negative reviews shown elsewhere. Thankfully, the problems were not reproduced here. It 'transforms' from a robot dinosaur to a helicopter with little issue, and it has a fun range of phrases. It's not bad value at a shade under £20, but the batteries do get caned a little - invest in a set of rechargeables!

I purchased this diary for my granddaughter (8). She has been so excited by the functions of and has been using it to record, taking selfies and playing various games. I like to buy presents with an educational element and the diary helps teach children to spell, express themselves and has maths puzzles. There are a number of versions and I chose this version as it has the latest additional functions in keeping with today's needs.

My 7 year old granddaughter loved this Christmas present, wouldn't put it down! Although batteries were for demonstration they lasted Christmas, boxing and the following day. She loved the face recognition and secret password. It has helped her understand time and as she set the alarm we all woke early!! The maths game was good too. The only negative was the packaging, why put it into a large surround of cardboard and plastic?

V-tech dinosaur/helicopterMy son loves this transformer which can go from helicopter to velociraptor in a few moves. It has a little screen which mimics a pilot and the dinosaur eyes. Many sounds for different moves. As all v-tech toys, this feel sturdy and can withstand a few knocks without problem for many hours of play.Batteries last a long time, in fact, after a couple of months we are still at the first set.5 stars
