My elder nephew (at 9) might not be quite the intended target for this toy, but his interests are pretty wide-ranging and encompass anything resembling a soft toy or an animal as well as anything that vaguely hints at tech - so Owleez, which combine elements of both and require interactivity, are right up his street. Despite the saucer-eyed appeal of the baby bird design, Owleez are almost entirely hard-bodied and made from plastic, I like this as it means that the owl baby is easy to wipe clean, but it does also mean it's not the cuddliest of toys. The only parts that aren't hard plastic are the stubby, soft 'wings' that are visible at all times - which are made from some kind of marabou type fabric. My nephew loves his toy,and its interactive functions, including light up eyes and sound effects. I can see why the recommended age for this is over 6s: because although this does fly, it's not just about flight and the learning/teaching/nurturing part takes a bit of time... including food, sleep, and fledging stages of learning to fly, where semi-successful attempts, crashing, and needing comfort also feature. Although this generally has appeal, it's not a simple 'press a button and it will fly' item, it's temperamental, needy, and replicates aspects of an actual animal in that it requires maintenance. What a great idea this is for children who are keen on the idea of owning their own pets, or who have become/are about to become older siblings!

My daughter plays frequently with an animatronic cat - Furreal, I think the brand is - which purrs, meows and has some very realistic kneading and play motions. While many 'robotic' toys are anything but - they might perform one limp motion or a sound - some can be very entertaining. The Owleez makes some bold claims - learning, responding and flying - and I admit we were prepared for disappointment. However, it's a lovely toy and very interactive. She makes a series of chirrupy sounds when held, fed with her berry, she will rest in her own provided nest, and then take flight. She acts in a similar manner to the small hand-controlled drones, the ones that go pleasantly up and down but do get caught on the slightest breeze. The owl is a little heavier than those, but she's built to sustain a bit of a crash onto soft furnishings. This is part of the game - she can be comforted before trying again. The children have returned to it even after the initial novelty, which is a good sign!

Toys made of synthetic material are robust but do not score well with cuddliness.Yet Owleez is here to prove this perception wrong! I bought it for my grandson who persuaded me to look at the Owleez videos. I was suspicious about its ability to fly as these demos are often not reliable but WRONG AGAIN! Owleez flies about the height of the door and beyond. Above all though Owleez is teaching him to be patient while it is learning to fly (yes, one has to really teach this too!) and compassion when the owl does not want to play or eat but wants to sleep. His mum has asked where was Owleez when she was his age! Only one thing of caution: parents need to explain to kids not to put their hands in the flying mechanism as it is indeed powerful and can hurt.Having said all these, Owleez is no longer a toy. It is a member of the family with special needs like his lovely blue nest for sleeping.

This is a cute little toy. The best bit for me is that it does not require batteries (hurrah), and instead, you set it on the nest and plug the USB in and it charges that way. I can't tell you exactly how long it lasts between charges because I haven't timed it but it's a decent amount of time. The Owl does make some rather annoying noises but it isn't that bad compared to many other toys we have had over the years. We quickly lost the berry but you don't need it, you can put your fingernail in its beak and it will eat that, or anything else really so that is a relief. The flying we felt was pretty underwhelming but it was fun and provided some excitement. It isn't the most robust toy so younger children would need to be supervised. It isn't a cheap toy but it has provided lots of laughter and fun and I would recommend it. It's just a little bit limited in what it does.

The kids loved watching this come to life. They had to look after the owl dictated by the colour of its eyes, and excitement quickly escalated as soon as it got ready to fly and started to open up. You need plenty of space as it tends to have a mind of it's own as it flies and first attempt it flew straight at me! It does not land very successfully so I do wonder how long before the wings get damaged but for now my 3 are loving it's abilities and chirpy tunes it plays. A great interactive toy!

I must admit, I didnt think Owleez would be that impressive - how much entertainment can an owl provide...wrong! This little owl won me over as soon as it was on and babbled "ma ma". It reacts to each swoop and twirl to help it fly, to being fed its berries. The eys light up to give you its needs and reactions. A helpful list is included to translate these. Best bit apart from its cute babbling and sing song is the eventual flight when you have helped it fly! So many hours of entertainment.

This is a great interactive toy, which u can feed and help it learn to fly. My daughter loves it, it come with easy to read instructions. Its eyes change colour so u know what mood its in and can intereact with it accordingly. It comes with the charger which is wrapped around the nest, which is a good idea ( great for storage and not easily lost ) and a food item which u can place by its beak and feed to it. My only issue is that it doesnt feel very sturdy, other than that its a great toy.

Owleez is a great interactive toy. My 7 year old daughter has great fun playing with it and ends up proud as punch when it flies and lands well. The adults think it’s fantastic too! Easily charges with a usb plug and the cable stores away neatly underneath the nest. Play with owleez until it wants to fly, put it in its nest and watch it fly up and away. Fantastic idea and doesn’t need loads of room either. Comes with berries to feed it and a quick start guide to know how it’s feeling.

Got this for my daughter she loves it. The positives are it's so much fun, colourful and the eye colours are interactive and she loves figuring out what owl is feeling. It charges well and isn't as large as I expected! No need for batteries just use a usb cable. Negatives are the packaging could be better doesn't look very expensive so when buying as a gift it doesn't look as much as you spent. It hasn't broke and so far sturdy but the crashes can be hard so don't use near ornaments.

This is a great toy light and durable so not easily broken. Flies well though usually not for as long as 10 seconds. Flies better off a higher surface than the floor. Made my 5 year old very happy on xmas and her 3 year old brother loves it aswell. Great that it charges instead of uses batteries. Responds well to being petted etc probably the best interactive toy weve had. It was reduced to 30 which was a good price as I wouldn't want to pay much more. Id defintely recommend it.

My 5 year old loved this but I'm not convinced of it's longevity-time will tell. Packaging was, pleasantly, smaller than expected. Easy and quick to set up. Very responsive to what my child commanded. Cute noises, not too grating. Seems robust but we've not bumped into much yet haha. All 3 of my children (10,6,5) were mesmorized when it started to fly. Overall very cute and fun but may get forgotten about quickly- fingers crossed that I'm wrong.

Let’s just start with that this thing is absolutely insane’ when it “flies” it comes at you with a purpose and is louder than a Boeing 747! But it is very cute and has provided my daughter with hours of fun, it’s quite time consuming on making it happy but once you remember what colour it’s eyes change to when it needs different things it’s not that hard, my daughter remembered pretty quickly! All in all a great pressie and my daughter loves it!

First impressions was a 10/10 for my 9yo.Brightly coloured with chunky features, this toy is lots of fun and interactive. Charges quickly by USB. Easy to use and set up is quick so no hanging around for the little people. Makes lots of cute noises though the squel before flight can be quite annoying after a while. Cons to this toy is DO NOT FLY OVER HARD FLOOR, the slightest knock on hard flooring and it can break, learnt this the hard way.

My daughter did enjoy playing with this toy. She loved the interactive aspect of this toy. The sounds and actiones she had great fun with and loved it when her eye colour changed. My only issue was the first time we got her to fly when she landed a little piece broke off. It still worked after but a little disapointed on it's first flight that happend.Overall it is a fun toy to play with and I would recommend but maybe play on a soft floor.

The Owleez is so cute. My 6 and 4 year old grandchildren love playing with the Owleez or Owlie as they call it. It charges easily with a usb cable and is great not to have to keep looking for batteries. The Owleez laughs when you interact with it and you can feed it with its fruit. It loves to be petted like a real pet and then you teach it to fly. This was a bit of a laugh and maybe don't do by the ornaments.Highly recommended
