I bought mine from another national retailer and overall am happy with it. It's an official Nintendo controller that is far better than the cheap 3rd party one I'd been using recently - far more comfortable to hold, better triggers, buttons and analogue sticks.... better everything basically. As with the previous reviewer I've not had any issues with any stick drift and everything seems on point - the analogue sticks feel responsive and accurate.The cable I believe is a couple of feet longer than the original Gamecube controllers released way back when that console was deemed cutting edge, so you get a good length cable (I haven't measured it but I'd estimate anywhere between 8-10 feet in length).This controller has a slightly rougher texture than original Gamecube controllers of old and is perhaps a fraction lighter but otherwise indistinguishable from the older versions.This is a special Smash Bros Ultimate branded re-issue and so has the logo on the controller but it is essentially a standard Gamecube controller with just the one Z trigger and a standard Gamecube connection at the end of the cable. This means it will plug directly into a Gamecube or Wii (as long as your Wii is the version with Gamecube ports built in - I believe a newer version of the Wii did away with these) but for the Wii U and Switch you need an adaptor.It works with all Gamecube games and all Wii games that are compatible with Gamecube controllers. I've tried it on a fair few old Gamecube games such as F Zero GX, Wave Race Blue Storm and Star Wars Rogue Leader and the controller works perfectly as you'd expect.As for the Switch and Wii U, it is compatible with the Super Smash Bros games only judging by the compatibility list provided on the back of the box... it doesn't mention any other games that may be compatible for Wii U or Switch although I haven't tested the controller to verify if it can work on any other games on these formats besides Super Smash Bros.The only issue I have with the controller is that it has a noisy spring in the L trigger - something that I gather is perfectly common and normal but it is a minor irritation nonetheless and the only reason I haven't given the controller a full 5 stars.

I have used all kinds of GameCube controllers since the GameCube was released and I must say this is certainly the best choice of controller to use for any Smash Bros. game. This isn’t just for Smash Bros. games, its perfect for any GameCube game or any game that supports this type of controller, and it beats out all the third-party controllers by miles.Just like the originals, the shape very ergonomic and comfortable, the only difference is the plastic material. This time around the controller has a matt plastic finish which I much prefer as it feels fingerprint proof and is smooth on touch. Another purposeful change is the longer cord, this allows you to sit further away from your screen when playing if you want.As for all the buttons and d-pad,everything is as responsive as you’d expect from an official Nintendo product. There are no stiff buttons, no sticking, locking or anything of that matter. However, the shoulder buttons on all the GameCube controllers have probably been its weakest point, they are not exactly improved on this controller, but it’s not a big problem if you’re used to how they feel anyways and it doesn’t take long to get used to them.After months of use, the control stick on my controller has taken a beating and is still holding up really well and has barely loosened, but has broken in nicely and feels better than when it first arrived. The only con about this controller is the durability of the rubber padding on the main grey control stick which is not the best when playing a lot of Smash Bros (especially Melee). It tends to wear down a lot, however it still manages to remain comfortable even when the plastic underneath the rubber starts to show. There are always inexpensive control stick replacements available online if this ever happens, but this will very unlikely happen for a long time if you are playing other games other than Smash Bros.Overall, this is nothing short of a 5-star product and undoubtably the best option of GameCube controller available now which will last you for years. Highly recommend!

This is a perfect recreation of the original GameCube controller. It feels identical to the original, but with the addition of a longer cable.It even features the original analogue triggers, which are always missing from third-party replicas.The packaging states that its compatible with original GameCube hardware and software, so as far as I'm concerned there's no need to touch a replica unless you want the Home/Screen Capture button.

Overall the controller is really solid. I also have a power A wireless gamecube-like controller, but it doesn't match up to this official nintendo controller in terms of stick accuracy and build quality. There are some reports on stick drift (I have not noticed anything), but worth checking so you can exchange if needed. My only complaints are the lack of start button functionality and a soft Z button that is unsatisfying to press.

Brand new manufactured gamecube controller feels exactly like they used to. Perfect for use with smash ultimate, but also with your old gamecube library. Feels great to use.However, I feel it is too expensive for a controller that is of a very old design. If it was wireless then I may think the price was reasonable

Happy with the purchase of the Gamecube Controller Adapter (Nintendo Switch). Now able to use my old and new gamecube controllers on my device. Just be aware that the game-cube controllers lack a left top bumper (ZL) button, so games like e.g. - Zelda BOTW, you would be missing the shield key.

I'm not sure how to describe this controller other than its perfect for smash by far, it's better than a Wii remote, switch pro controller, Xbox controller, keyboard and mouse ( if you play smash on pc ) it just feels right and the price is good.
