Presentation:In some ways this should be irrelevant but we all know it’s not. These pouches come in a nice box and the pouches themselves all look nice, with a different colour for each meat type. They have all the usual info, including ingredients and feeding guide - which I think is a little over-generous, but I’ll come to that later. The whole thing looks good and gives you confidence. The food:* There are three pouches each of Duck, Chicken, Turkey and Beef and this food is designed for adult dogs.* Looking at the ingredients, I was struck by the fact that they are 80% meat, not meat derivatives, but human grade meat that is ethically sourced and fully traceable. The other 20% is mostly vegetables.* The food is a complete, balanced diet without grain or gluten, both of which are unnatural for dogs and can cause digestive problems and lead to weight gain.* The proof of the pudding, as they say, is in the eating. No I didn’t eat any, but I did smell it and it smelled really good. There was none of the usual ‘dog food’ smell. I know I’ve eaten meals thT smelled worse than this.* Tipping the food out, I could see, straight away, there was none of the usual jelly or gravy - both of which are impossible for dogs to process and therefore of no value to them, they just look good for us owners. This food was all meaty looking.* And now onto the real eating, my tiny 2kg dog wolfs it down (pun intended). In fact, she nearly licks the pattern off the plate! So, it looks good, is made of good things, smells good and is very palatable for dogs. But this wouldn’t be a fully rounded review if I didn’t point out the only negatives I could find, so here goes:* I don’t think you’d buy these pouches for a large dog, it recommends 7+ pouches per day, so might work out a little pricey ;)* I think the daily amount is possibly a little generous as it recommends between one half and two pouches daily for a toy dog. My little pooch would struggle to get through even half a pouch a day (each pouch is 150g). I would say a quarter or at most a third if she wasn’t getting any other food.Would I buy this food again? Absolutely. Would I recommend it to other? Without hesitation.

We started to use wet food mixed into dry to perk Daisy’s appetite while she was recovering from being hit by a car. We didn’t want to undo the good work of her quality croquettes, but where we live in France high protein wet food only comes tinned and with a culturally appropriate, "reassuringly expensive" price tag.Imagine our bemused but pleased surprise to come back to the UK and discover there’s been an affordable high protein wet food revolution.Daisy's been a bit picky about some other brands' flavours but had no hesitation about anything from the Natures Menu Country Hunter Superfood pouch selection pack.We always check the contents of pet food and if you’re buying this you’re probably the same way inclined.Natures Menu Country Hunter Superfood is no exception to the old saw that,in a very real sense, we’re all 70 per cent water. 80 per cent meat therefore resolves into 10 per cent protein plus a lot of liquid, some vegetable matter and ash. But no grain or gluten, which is obviously a powerful hook for the modern intolerance-averse market. And it’s all a lot better than the at-best 4 per cent acknowledged meat content in the brand that our fussiest cat will gracefully accept – touchwood – more or less consistently. If you’re listening, niche pet-food suppliers everywhere, in an ideal world it would be nice to have an affordable, 80 per cent alternative for the nation’s current statistically preferred pet too.The foil pouches are more convenient for portioning and eliminate some of the messy donkey work of carving portions from the competition’s chip-shop style plastic trays. That said, we get 6-plus servings out of a tray and only 2 from each pouch, which puts Natures Menu Country Hunter Superfood at about the price point of what we’ve seen tinned overseas, which is a strong argument on a limited budget. Not quite as competitively priced as some equivalent tray-bakes on the supermarket shelves, but Daisy voted with her appetite and I'm not going to argue with that.

Excellent food. I had the multipack so i had 4 different flavours, Beef, Chicken, Duck, and Turkey.Ingredients are:Free Range Chicken: Free Range Chicken (min 80 percent), Sweet Potato (3 percent), Carrots (3 percent), Green Beans (3 percent), Mixed Berries (2 percent), Spirulina (0.5 percent), Yucca Extract, Green Tea Extract, Grape Seed Extract, Rosemary Extract.Farm Reared Turkey: Turkey (min 80 percent), Sweet Potato (3 percent), Carrots (3 percent), Green Beans (3 percent), Mixed Berries (2 percent), Spirulina (0.5 percent), Yucca Extract, Green Tea Extract, Grape Seed Extract, Rosemary Extract.Succulent Duck: Duck (min 80 percent), Sweet Potato (3 percent), Carrots (3 percent),Green Beans (3 percent), Mixed Berries (2 percent), Spirulina (0.5 percent), Yucca Extract, Green Tea Extract, Grape Seed Extract, Rosemary Extract.Grass Grazed Beef: Beef (min 80 percent), Sweet Potato (3 percent), Carrots (3 percent), Green Beans (3 percent), Mixed Berries (2 percent), Spirulina (0.5 percent), Yucca Extract, Green Tea Extract, Grape Seed Extract, Rosemary Extract. Each pouch is foil wrapped, comes out in one go, smells amazing, is nice and meaty, not sloppy or smushy at all. My dog went mad for them. However because the pouches are only 150g each they didnt last us long, only a few days so it wasnt cost effective as i was feeding 3 pouches at a time.Whilst having the option for smaller size packs is good, i would be more likely to buy again if i could buy in 300g pouches or 400g tins. I just looked up this food and they have their own website where it says you can buy this in 400g tins for £2.29 a tin which for the quality is very good. Will be buying again but in that format.Very impressive.

As part of the rating process for this product, I was asked to provide a rating for flavour! Are they mad? Whilst it has been cooked and I know that there are human testers in the production process, I couldn't taste this food, unless I was very hungry. My Border Collie dog is somewhat different, however, I question his judgement in the culinary testing stakes, as he also loves fresh horse poo, the warmer the better. It comes as no surprise that Ollie likes this food, like most dogs, he is interested only in getting as much of it into his stomach as quickly as possible. We deceive ourselves in thinking otherwise, yes he loves cheese and items like beef when we give him some of ours, however,he tends to simply swallow it, rather than savour every morsel. I must admit that there is some dog food that he doesn't gulp quite so enthusiastically and some, particularly containing lamb, which upset his tummy a little. I am delighted to say that this product doesn't upset his tummy at all and he gulped it down, all 12 sachets in 6 days - two sachets a day accompanied by Country Hunter biscuits; he functions best with some cereal in his diet and being an active Border Collie needs the calories.I dread to think how much this 18kg bundle of fun has cost us in his 11+ years and therefore this product at £13.07 for 6 days supply is a little on the steep side, but such is the cost of keeping a dog, particularly if you wish to feed them on proprietary foods, which we do for convenience. He is still incredibly active as confirmed by his canine Fitbit, which illustrates that he requires significantly more calories that dogs from other breeds which are not as active. Suffice to say, he is a very active dog.

We tried a Natures Menu selection box of cat food a while ago and our fussy old boy absolutely wolfed it down – which was good as the food seemed to be very high quality, but also a bit sad for him as at the price he will only be getting more as an occasional treat! We were pleased to be invited to try this Natures Menu Country Hunter Superfood Selection for Dogs as, although we don't have a dog ourselves, we often visit friends who have a hungry Dalmatian. Like the cat food we had tried earlier this dog food looked to be top quality with plenty of real meat and little bulk, and it was soon devoured with none left in the bowl. This multi-flavoured pack is a good way to see if any one variety is more popular with your pet than the others – you get twelve 150gm pouches with three each of Duck, Beef, Chicken and Turkey with each flavour containing 80% meat. The only downside with a premium quality product like this is the price – and that will be the deciding factor for many dog owners. Currently over thirteen pounds for twelve pouches from Amazon makes each 150gm pouch cost over a pound apiece – quite a bit more than regular brands – so if you can afford it, or your dog is poorly, or needs a treat then Natures Menu will not disappoint. Five stars for quality but the price will be an issue.

It’s quite hard to review something you can’t actually use yourself. However, all three beasties love this dog food, all flavours. The labradoodle has a whole packet with some dry biscuit mixed in. His nose pressed against the top of the bowl trying to get the very last morsels is comedic. He loooooves this dog food. The schnauzers have about half a pack each, again mixed with a little kibble. Normally they are not too fussed about their food - they eat some of it and then leave it until they fancy a bit more. With this food, they don’t wait around (perhaps the fear of the other one eating it?!) and have left clean bowls every time!I forgot to do the “gradual introduction” that we are supposed to do when introducing new food sources to their diets, but fortunately there were no side-effects. I can only assume this is because the ingredients are all such a high quality. As a responsible owner, where you will really see the difference is in the poop-scooping. There is a marked difference in the “quality” compared to leading supermarket brands, for the better - non-stinky, solid, healthy-looking poops that are easily scooped up.It’s a YES (woof!) from us.

Received the box today so waiting to see if there are any after effects, if you catch my drift. Fed this to my 2 Jack-crosses for dinner and so far so good. Have tried a few different high meat content wet foods (I mix half and half with dry James Wellbeloved for small dogs) such as Pets at Home Wainwrights, James Wellbeloved pouches, as well as Natures Menu tinned raw (which had consequences, but they were only 6 months at that point). Both of my dogs have quite sensitive tummies so we'll see how this pans out. 80% human grade meat content swayed me, however. Price isn't bad considering the apparent quality. They both wolfed it down which hasn't happened in a long time. Also, doesn't smell half bad!So far, so good as long as there are no extremely upset tummies tomorrow. We are changing to a new food so slight upset is expected, however.Update 24/05/19: no issues whatsoever in the tummy department (1st time ever when feeding new food, but also mixing with James Wellebeloved grain free turkey & veg). Very impressed as this is the first time since they were little that they have consistently cleaned their bowls at the same time, every sitting!

In this Country Hunter Superfood Selection pack for dogs from Nature's Menu you get the following 150 g pouches - x3 Duck, x3 Chicken, x3 Beef and x3 Turkey. I do like getting my dog a variety pack of food versus a single selection as I think it makes mealtimes more interesting for him - but I have absolutely no way of knowing if he prefers that. He does like Nature's menu products, he loves the treats and the food pouches haven't been an exception. I do mix in a little bit of kibble just to give a bit of crunch. At the current price of over £13 they are more expensive than we'd usually spend, but I do think Nature's Menu is a good product.I like that the ingredients are listed and you can see what you're feeding your dog - I tend to avoid dog food which says meat derivatives as I want to know what I am feeding him. He is a Shih Tzu cross so will have one pouch, but for larger dogs it's going to be more expensive as you'll be feeding them more than one pouch. He is getting older so I probably am indulging him more, so as he likes this I'll probably get it again.Overall - a good dog food that my dog seems to enjoy.

Natures Menu usually come up with food that dogs really love and this is no exception. This comes as a 12 pack selection box of four different flavours: duck, chicken, beef and turkey; all of them 80% meat and no rubbish.A pack size is a nice 150g and this might work out quite expensive for someone who owns a very large dog, but for my Tibetan terrier I just put one pack of this with some dried food and she absolutely loves it. We have always fed our dog on premium dried food, the kind that contains at least 70% meat - not the inferior stuff you often see filling the shelves at the supermarket. Although our dog loves wet food we try to avoid it. This however,is such a treat that to see the reaction of the dog is an absolute joy. The consistency of the meat is spot-on perfect, not too wet not too dry, just right, and it doesn’t leave an unsightly residue around the dog’s muzzle. So to sum up, these pouches may work out quite expensive for some, but I think they're worth the outlay. I will definitely be buying more of these Superfood pouches and have no hesitation in recommending them.

Ok. So I know a lot of people think they have a picky dog but my dog won't even eat cooked salmon or chicken if i put it on his dinner, and can go 3 days without eating!! I put half a packet on his dinner and he dived straight in. Normally he sniffs it, looks around, sniffs it again, looks around again and then may eat it, eat some or just walk away. He ate the whole lot, then came and got his after dinner treat and then I heard him licking something and turned round and he'd gone back to his bowl and was giving it another lick clean. So its fair to say that Jasper (my dog, obviously!) really, REALLY loves these.Which is a bummer for me, because they are out of my price range. At the moment I spend £3 for 12, so although these are 150g per pouch and not the normal 100g, they are still more than 3 times the price. So not sure If i can buy them. They do smell really nice though and the texture is also nice so if price isn't an issue then I'm sure your dog will love them (though I cant be held responsible if they don't! :) So to sum up my dog loves them but I don't like the price.

The 'Natures Menu Country Hunter Superfood Selection for Dogs 12 x Pouches' comes as a cardboard box containing twelve foiled pouches of wet dog food in four flavours - three pouches each of duck, turkey, chicken, and beef . Made from human-grade meat (no, I didn't try it - although they do smell quite appealing!), these are good quality, as evidenced by the price. I would not feed my dog these full-time as they are grain-free, and there have been studies coming out of America linking grain-free diets with sudden-onset cardiomyopathy in dogs (reversible if caught in time) with some forms of grain-free feeding, but these make a great supplement to my dog's normal diet, and give her some variety. The pouches are quite large, and for a small dog you will probably need to give less than one per day, although it can of course be stored in the fridge once open. My dog has been very enthused by all the flavours, and they haven't upset her stomach (as always, transitions onto a different diet do need to be done gradually).Good quality wet food pouches, with a very high meat content.

It’s worth bearing in mind that each of these pouches weigh 150g. Many of the better known and much cheaper brands contain only 75g to 100g. On that basis, I consider these very good value for money. As for the content, I prefer to buy food which is free from derivatives. It’s the derivative content which makes it cheap; the protein is hoof, horn and any other low quality hard to digest bit of the animal. The issue for pet food is that your loved dog or cat will doubtless love it. It’s often very animal palatable although it looks like regurgitated gloop. But, and this is the sting, it’s really difficult to digest. Over time, some years, it my lead to bladder or other digestive problems.Very expensive vet bills.I don’t know Natures Menu as a brand, but their ex’s seems creditable. Add to that the fact that the dog literally demolished the food and was looking for more. He can be fussy and will leave til later anything he’s not keen on. But this went into the bowl and he was keen to get stuck in. Smells good, to me. Looks appetising. We’re all very happy. ??

Wow what a difference compare to the ASDA branded dog food or the Pedigree Vital. We Have a 1 year old Bichon who is fairly typical of the breed and has a tummy that requires special dog food. We have tried many big names before and we anded up using Pedigree Vital... Until now. Ive got this Natures Menu Pouches and she loves it. We have been feeding her this food for over 2 weeks now and she looks more healthier then ever. She empty het bowl in just a few second and then she poops nice & firm. Each Pouches contains 150g food which is a perfect portion I don't need to split in half or use double amount. The food is made from 80% meat. It doesn't have that horrible smell like other dog foods its smells like a fresh pate. There is 4 different flavours in the box, chicken, Duck Beef and Turkey. Its good to buy this mixed selection box first and than you can buy each flavour separately it depends which one is preferred by your dog. I will definitely buy Natures Menu from now, excellent quality and worth the slightly higher price!!!!

Although I am a vegetarian, I never deny my dog her meat. Saying that, she generally prefers dry food and has turned up her nose up at some wet dog foods in the past. I usually just add some corned beef, chicken, chopped ham with pork, and so on, to her dry food.I was a little hesitant in trying these Country Hunter pouches as I was sure she wouldn’t like them. I was wrong. She absolutely loves them! She’s always loved chicken but the turkey, beef and duck seem just as popular as well.As I don’t like handling meat, I find using these pouches very easy. Just cut along the top of the pouch and squeeze the contents into a dog dish. Using a fork, just break up the slab of meat into smaller pieces and add some dry food.So easy. A real bonus for me is that it doesn’t smell too much either.I had to chuckle a bit with the phrase ‘Human grade meat’ in the advertising.Overall, a very popular product, at least with my Jack Russell. If your dog is a fussy eater too, these are still well worth a try as they’re not expensive.

My dog has been brought up on Natures Menu and absolutely loves it! She’s usually fed on raw chunks that we keep in the freezer but I also keep pouches in for when we get home too late to defrost food for her or when we go away and others have to look after her. She’s a toy breed so only has one sachet for her evening meal but it’s plenty for her. As soon as I open a sachet she goes absolutely wild for the smell (the duck one seems to be her favourite so she’s doubly excited if she smells that one!) And she certainly gets stuck in very quickly with the bowl being licked clean.I love the fact that it’s at least 80% meat and good quality meat at that. These pouches are easy to store and are much loved by my dog. They do make her poo a bit smelly but that’s just because raw food doesn’t and for a once in a while change, I can cope with that! Other than that it doesn’t upset her stomach or give her any windy problems thankfully.Really good quality dog food but it is expensive if you feed it all the time.
