This is scratching me right where I itch. I'd been dabbling with keyboards and harmonica's for a while, but never got round to taking a real course to learn how to read notes. At the core of the game is a lesson mode, which is well organized. It starts with some very basic concepts (pitch, tempo) but gradually becomes more challenging. I'm not an expert, but I guess by the end of it you should be able to read most sheet music (at least for piano, using notes instead of letters).Linked to the lessons are tests, where you can win points. You later use these points to buy tabs to 65 songs. Here you get a tab in the upper screen and play the song on a little keyboard on the lower screen (one note at a time).Songs start with 'Twinkle twinkle little star' up to 'Return march from Aida'.You can later listen to your performance, even compare it to how it should have sounded. Plus, this practice mode is pretty flexible: you can just play around with the keyboard at will, without following the tab.A few nice extra's include: a chord scheme for easy reference (piano and guitar), fun games, and glossary. The only minus it'd get from me is for the tacky sounding music in the menus, but that's all.Otherwise: a great and fun way of learning how to read music.

After waiting for it (only took less than 2 days! wow!:), I was quite excited to be getting this game. Apart from me thinking it was accidentally dispatched as second hand as when you press the enjoy game buttons it seemed to already have rankings on the games?:/ - With the name "AAA"...It is a good idea for a game - you can do 21 lessons (all assessable from the beginning but starting from tbe begiging will give you a simple, clear and informative basic way of learning music. It also has tests to see if you actually understand the lessons which is great. The music in the background can be slightly distracting as-well as annoying but you can turn down the volume before putting it back up again for the actually lesson /test.You have to unlock performances but earning points from the lessons and tests so give you something to work for.It does what it says, but if don't be disappointed if its not as fun as it could be.But if you want to learn the basics in music in your own time for free - Go for it! :)
