I purchased this in anticipation of Titanfall and to my amazement it came a day earlier than expected. It comes in a traditional Xbox coloured box along with the long awaited Xbox One headset adapter (which will also enable past headsets to be compatible with the Xbox One). You also get a Micro USB cable and a load of warranty documentation and an included setup guide.Thankfully Microsoft has kept everything simple and easy to use with this one. Simply put, all you have to do is plug the headset into the included adapter and then plug that into the bottom of the controller, once you've updated the adapter and headset via the console (you do this by directly plugging the controller into the console using the USB cable included and the update should automatically pop up.If it doesn't then go to settings>System>Controller Update and it should take a few minutes at most). Now this is a Stereo headset so pretty much the best way I can describe them is like having the TV speakers directly over your ears. Do not confuse these with a surround sound headset (for 99% of people stereo headsets are more than adequate to provide a decent gaming experience). The depth and quality of audio output this headset has is pretty impressive especially when you take into account it works directly off the controller and take into account the price. Now I paid £59.99 which is the RRP and I would advise you pay no more, the reason I say this is I have noticed a few websites and indeed my local gaming store selling them at a premium which in my view isn't right.Back to the headset, Construction wise its ok, not bad but certainly nothing to write home about. They haven't used any high quality parts nor have they skimped and used very cheap and tacky plastic, it's somewhere in the middle which is to be expected for the very reasonable price. Certainly it should last a good many years if you look after it. The headset is all black with parts in matt finish and other areas like the head strap in gloss. Adjustment wise you can extend it on either side so people with larger or indeed smaller heads will be able to get comfy, the ear pods themselves pivot individually so comfort takes priority with these. The speakers are in an "over ear" configuration meaning the padding surrounding the speakers surround your ears, this in turn blocks virtually all outside noise and isolates you in the gaming experience. The padding is soft and comfy for long gaming sessions although I wish it was slightly firmer (although that is a personal preference so you may find them perfect). The microphone boom (arm) is located on the left hand side and can be folded down to your mouth when you want to talk or folded up if you just want to game audio. Speaking of listening not only do my friends say my voice sounds clear but you can use this headset with a PC, Mobile and indeed personal MP3 player to listen to music and the audio quality is spot on.Now onto the adapter which comes included with the headset and indeed is essential to use. There is volume up and down buttons as well as a mute button, the thing I like about the adapter is you can independently select the volume for both chat and in-game audio separately, so everyone will be able to find the correct balance! Oh, by the way did I mention that the adapter itself actually feels well made from sturdy plastic!Pros: Very easy to find a comfortable position on your head * ear pads are comfy * both chat and game audio is clear and very good quality * the headset and adapter feel durable * Works with PC, Mobile and any device using a standard headphone jack * excellent price considering you also get the adapter so you can use 3rd party headsets * draws its power from the controller so no long wires trailing to the consoleCons: They're not destruction proof meaning they could quite easily break if you don't look after them * microphone arm only swings one way meaning it has to be worn on the left hand side (but I'm nit picking)Verdict: A stereo headset that plugs into the controller so essentially it's a wireless headset as there are no wires trailing across the floor. The audio quality is pretty impressive and I can't fault it for the price I paid, when you take into account it can also be used with other devices like a PC it gets better and better. Sure there are better stereo headsets out there but you're going to be spending significantly more to get any marked improvement in terms of quality. So considering all I have mentioned I think this is the only headset the vast majority will ever need!HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!

I got this headset about a month ago and so far have found it to be brilliant. It comes packaged in a very similar way to the xbox, in a green box with neat compartments inside for each part. This contains the headset, adapter, micro usb cable and then some manuals. The headset was incredibly easy to setup, simply plug in the adapter to the bottom of the controller and then the headphone jack from the headset into the bottom of the adapter. Once I did this a notification popped up on the xbox telling me that there was an update for my controller. I installed this, which took a couple of minutes, and then it was all ready to go!The first thing I noticed once playing a game was how crisp and clear the sound was.Previously I'd just been plugging a normal set of earphones into the back of my tv for sound (standard apple iphone / ipod earphones) and the sound from these are so much better. I could actually use the sound of footsteps in shooting games to track down which direction enemies are, something I've never been able to do before. The headset itself sits comfortably on my head with the size of it adjusting easily so the speakers rest over my ears. It blocks out surrounding noise so well that my girlfriend now has to nudge me to get my attention (normally to do the washing up, like that's more important than beating the empire on star wars). The headset seems to be well constructed and fairly sturdy, that said if it isn't stored away safely it's not strong enough to withstand being trodden on or dropped from a great height. The only issue I've experienced is my ears seem to get really hot by the end of a long gaming session, although I may get used to this as I've never used over-ear headphones before. The adapter that comes with the controller works very well and is simple to use (once you've figured out how). The central button it to mute / unmute the microphone. The two buttons on the left hand-side control the volume ratio between the game and chat, whilst the buttons on the right hand side adjust the overall volume up or down.Since the headphones have a standard audio jack they can also be plugged into plenty of other devices, for instance your mobile phone or tablet. I've tried them out watching a programme on my iPhone and they significantly increased the sound quality from this as well. Some final points worth mentioning are the placement of the microphone and the effect on the controllers battery life. The microphone is tucked up on the left hand side of the headset and can be difficult to spot at first. Battery life of the controller is significantly reduced as a result of plugging in the headphones. So unless you have rechargeable battery packs in your controller (I do) then you'll find these make powering your controller far more expensive. Definitely worth investing in rechargeable packs if you plan on getting this headsetI paid less for this headset as I found it during a lightning deal however I think it's well worth the current £35 full price on Amazon.

BackgroundMy Previous Headset was the lesser standard official Xbox One microphone which came with the console, i had it for one month before out of the blue it broke for no apparent reason. After haven broken previous 360 headsets i took extra care with this headset, only to see it inevitably break yet again. At around £20 for another headset i could not justify spending that amount of money on another, which would predictably just break not long down the line. This spurred me on to find a slighter more expensive option, hoping for better longevity. I Purchased this product over a month ago now and have used it many times and can clearly state that it easily justifies it's price tag.Positives-It Produces high quality surround sound.- Crisp speech through the microphone (which importantly does not pick up sound from the speakers)- Has a higher quality strength than other official Xbox One headsets.- Both the headset and adapter make use of Aux cable slots meaning they can be used in conjunction with other third party. software and equipment making the product very versatile (Key selling point for me)- Comfortable ear padding makes for a easy wearing.- Microphone fits into the frame when not in use making the headset more compact.- The adapter gives full control over game volume against voice volume as well as the standard buttons of volume and mute.- Adjustable frame to fit different sized people.- Plug & Play, no set up required.Negatives- The actual microphone appears slightly too small, not really reaching the mouth.* After a month of use, I spent a long time of thinking about negatives to write about this product, i really struggled which further emphasizes how good this product is.Value for Money£36 for some might seem slightly too expensive but when you compare this product to the standard headset which is £20 it soon appears to be a bargain, when compared to the more fragile cheaper option. £36 will certainly give you better quality and a guarantee of longevity.ConclusionI would defiantly recommend buying this if your looking for a Xbox one headset, and would push you too spend that little more on this quality and reliable productRating - 5/5

In this price range I can't imagine getting a better headset than this. Firstly, the sound through the over ear closed back cans is surprisingly open and neutral. You won't be getting the overbearing bass boosts of the Turtle Beach sets here, but you'll get great clarity, clear sound separation and a good kick in the lows, mids and highs all around. These headphones are particularly good for music surprisingly enough, with metal, hip hop and synthwave music resonating in all the right ways (Which just makes me want a Spotify app even more). The mic here is fantastic too, sitting around your cheek so it doesn't pick up your breathing, but still managing to pick up quiet talking for when the times call for it,and it's good enough to record YouTube with, no joke. It's a snug fit on even my huge head too, with soft plushy earcups that keep a good seal essential for the nice sound and making it suitible for long sessions. Even the adapter that comes with it will have you not even using the regular 3.5mm jack on the controller. The controls for volume, muting and volume balance between chat and game audio are second nature to me now. Even the overall construction is pleasing with very durable heavy duty plastic coating the whole thing. What's nice is you won't even look like an energy drink guzzling maniac if you wore these in public either because the mic folds away nicely and with the exception of the Xbox logo, nobody would guess they they're gaming headphonesThere are some cons though. The lack of mic monitoring when using the adapter is very disappointing, and these things will eat through your controller batteries. Expect to run out of battery in the middle of a game a few times until you adjust to recharging whenever you get the chance. Also when the chat volume is at its highest volumes, it can echo back to people in game. However I can't fault these cans for the price to performance ratio. The two most important parts, the mic and sound are VERY good for the price, the included adapter is a lifesaver and the build is pleasing to the eye and feels premium. If you're in this price range and you're looking for a gaming headset for your Xbox, look no further.

Having previously owned a turtle beach headset I wasn't expecting much from this at all but I was wrong and extremely surprised with the purchase!PROS- The most comfortable headset I have ever worn, fits around ear and really soft - ( I have a big head )- Excellent game sound quality- Really loud when maxed out- Excellent party chat sound, everyone can hear me perfectly- The mic folds up into the headset band - ( It has it's own slot within the headband )- The mic doesn't come to close to the mouth so that it picks up breathing. it also has a movement allowing it to move up and down and slightly away from the face which is great.- My friends have said they can still hear me clearly when themic is still slotted up into the headband.- The adapter has a Game & Party button so you can balance out the overall sound between the two with a simple click which is awesome, for example if a cut scene comes up in game and you want to listen to it and not the people in chat you can hold the Game sound button so it just plays the game sound and cuts out chat until you undo it and vise versa.CONS- The headphone cable which plugs into the adapter is flat and the way it rests it does look like after a while the cable could eventually give causing the headset to fail.- The headset feels fragile and cheapTaking into account I paid £38 for this headset and it comes with the adapter needed to use it with your Xbox one controller, there £20 on there own to buy so I basically paid £18 for what is a really good headset that I am more than happy with.Yes there are better headsets but for the price it's a fantastic buy.The headphones stream the game and chat sound from the Xbox one using the wireless feature, you only need to plug the headphones into the controller, just remember the turn the volume down to 0 on the TV.You can control all the volume for the headphones from the controller. Great for playing at night if you like loud games but everyone else is in bed.

Bought these to save the trail of leads that accompany me anytime I want a late night Xbox session. I used to use Sennhiesers plugged into my AV amp (cheap Sennhiesers, expensive Onkyo amp) and they worked great, albeit without the chat support. These though are much better. The build quality is good for the price. They feel solid, chunky, sturdy and look good if not too stylish. The non-tangle lead is a plus and the boom mic tucks away so neat you cannot tell it is there. Sound quality is good, solid bass and fine treble, not as detailed as the AV through speakers but better than the Sennhiesers. If I had a complaint it would be the bass is slightly too high, but I have always preferred a flatter response in my music and AV.The boom mic works fine, and although I don't game online too much, I have been told I am clear and easy to hear. They are comfortable, tight and block out external sound well. They also have a standard 3.5 jack so can be used on any audio gear, so that is a nice bonus. The included control/adapter works well and fits nicely and only took a minute for a basic update that is prompted as soon as the adapter is clicked on. This is done for each controller. The buttons work fine and it is nice to have the balance controls. You can also plug any headphones into the 3.5 jack for listening. If I had to mark it down it would simply be because the adapter should have been included in the Xbox One box! PS4 had this capability out of the box, and although the Xbox's method allows for greater control, it is still an additional cost, which when included with the remote, batteries and headset, makes the One expensive. I have paid over £600 in total now for console, games and accessories.Despite that, I would recommend this as it is well built, has good quality sound and for the price is a decent set of headphones for everyday use.

Great headset for the cost, works as well as £50-60 headsets that I've used in the past. It also looks great and fits with the style of the Xbox One.I bought a headset so I could play some games and watch certain movies at a much needed high volume without disturbing neighbours. I was looking into everything, and for £35 this seemed like a pretty low risk purchase. I figured it would be pretty good for a few games (like CoD and other similar games), but I wouldn't use it when playing something like Fallout 4. I also bought a couple of Blu-ray movies, and thought they would benefit from the stereo.I tried these one for the first time and knew they were perfectly fitting. For my head and ears, they feel very light and comfortable. I can wear these for hours and hours on end and still not feel like they hurting or making me uncomfortable. The build quality of these is really good on both the headset and adapter. The sound is actually a lot better than I expected. So good in fact I have adopted these as a constant use for TV, DVD, Blu-ray and gaming. The only time I don't use them is when I'm playing something like FIFA. They're also very good for mic quality, even when compared with much more expensive Turtle Beach headsets.I have a fairly new Xbox One, and my controller came with a 3.5mm jack built in, so the stereo adapter wasn't 100% needed. However, I found that for changing volume as well as muting the mic etc. it's just a lot easier to use the headset with than without.Overall, a very comfortable, well-made and high quality headset for the price. Well worth it for anyone looking for a casual game/viewing headset

For the price these are good value for money and appear very well made and I love the way the mic tucks away out of sight. The sound quality is fairly good and you get the adapter included with these which retails for around £20 by itself.Ive listen to music with these as well again no real problems with the sound quality its what you would expect for a medium range set of headphones. They fit very well and are fairly tight around the head and its not to dissimilar to wearing ear defenders as you can't hear a thing with these on.They are powered by the controller and don't appear to had to much of an impact on the battery. This is a huge plus as it means no more changing batteries half way through a game. Also I haven't noticed any interference or cracking. You will need to update any controller you are planning on using these with, but the mini usb is supplied and it only takes a couple of minutes. My only complaint ands its a pretty big one is that when wearing these its extremely difficult to hear your own voice especially if you're chatting and playing a noisy game i.e. Titanfall. The result is you've got no idea how loud you're talking. My wife said it sounded like was shouting at someone far away! I now wear these with one ear cone off to the side which corrects the problem but sort of defeats the purpose.I do like these and for the price they are hard to beat but I would have happily paid £10-£20 more and had noise cancelling like my turtle beaches. If it wasn't for this issue I would behave happily have given this headset 5* but unfortunately I'm not sure how useful these are going to be.

I bought this as a replacement to the stock headset you get with your Xbox One in hopes that it would last a little longer than it's fragile little brother, as far as build quality they are pretty sturdy, look very nice and the overall sound quality is pretty good, being great for music use too, it came with the headset attachment to use with all other headsets which was very handy, but with all of that said I do feel like there headset itself has a few minor negative points, mainly being longer term comfort and the battery power needed to keep the controller and headset going, at first the headset does feel okay around the ears and head but after 4 hours or so I do usually get a little sick and find myself either taking a break or taking an ear off to let my head relax, but obviously for a few hours here and there it isn't really a problem, as for the power side, I find myself changing my batteries around once a day ever since upgrading, sometimes I can stretch to two, but I would say for a power user without rechargeable batteries you're going to get fed up fast, luckily I have a few charging in-between, so would recommend a cheap set to keep things going. To recap as to avoid some ramble;Pros - Excellent sound, easy to use, great functionality.Cons - Can get uncomfortable depending on head size and general preference, heavy battery usage.I would honestly recommend the headset as the price for what you get is great, but if you want a headset to use for full days and nights worth of gaming I would probably recommend spending a little more and getting something a little for comfortable.

Everything written by other reviewers is true. For the money, they do a decent job.Comfortable to a point, but I don't think I'd be able to wear them for hrs.I've never been too fond of very strong isolation in cans. These really cut you off from the outside.Like some of the American reviews, I have noticed that navigation of the dashboard generates noise. In game, the same clicks and pops are noticeable.I'm sure that we will get an update that fixes that little problem. As a pair of headphones for listening to music they colour the sound. They add a lot of extra bass and there is a notch in the mid range.I have used them with my phone and they work well, although the sound of both mic and speakers is compressed. The adapter that comes included, I suspect is the source of the unwelcome noises.I am trying out my pair of Samsung ear buds with the adapter as I write this. The pops and clicks are more noticeable with the buds but the overall sound was just as good.Bottom line. Worth the money. If late night gaming is your reason to purchase the phones, you'd probably wake the house up if in a party/multiplayer situation, as you wouldn't know how loud you were talking.6 months on and my pair are still going strong.I have changed my review to four stars. I think they are a decent pair of phones for the money. The dashboard navigation interference is still noticeable, but it doesn't bug me like it did at first. You could spend more on gaming headsets if you want to. I wouldn't though. I'd buy another pair of these.

These headphones are an excellent solution compared to the standard headset, especially for noisy games!Pros:- They don't need to be plugged into the TV, they just plug straight into the controller- They don't need batteries, they get their power from the controller- It includes the detachable headphone adapter which usually costs about £18, making these headphones good value- The adapter allows you to balance the game and voice volumes and mute your microphone- The microphone hides in the headband until swung down. The magnet that holds it in pulls the microphone in with a satisfying snap - it's the little things!- The microphone works fine for chat- They are actually really comfy to wear for extended gaming sessionsCons:- The sounds is both too tinny and too bassy. The mid-tones sound washed out compared to even cheap over-ear headphones. That said, the quality is fine for everyday gaming and the volume can be quite loud.- The headset eats through the controller's battery charge - buy rechargeable packs if you're going to use these or it will get expensive...- There's quite a lot of sound bleed-through from the outside in and the inside out for over-ear headphonesSo, in conclusion, these headphones work fine and are good value. If you want more expensive 3rd party headphones, you would need the adapter anyway which comes with them, so these are a reasonable stepping stone if you are getting into social or competitive gaming, and will be fine for 99% of gamers.

I bought these for one reason. My wife is going to be spending a lot of time in recovery at home after a major operation, I wanted the option to keep it quiet when I'm online with friends playing games over Xbox Live. I run a beefy 5.2 setup and the last thing I want is to disturb my Wife whilst resting. What is so brilliant about these is you plug the headphones into the control pad via the supplied adapter and away you go, all the game audio and chat comes through the stereo headset, Brilliant. Just remember to turn off your TV speakers or home cinema system first or you end up with the game audio coming through both. When it comes to headphones, I'm a Bose man.I'll be using my Bose headphones for other activities such as a Movie's or Music. If it wasn't for the Xbox One Stereo Headphones I'd be stuck with using my Bose headphones, playing online with no voice chat. I know there is always the Turtle beach option but I like an official product. When it comes to build and performance I cant fault them. If you like the feel and build of the control pad you'll be happy with the build of these. Audio wise, these headphones will never compete with the full surround sound solution but after playing Destiny for a few hours I can confirm that the audio is crisp and beefy in all the right places. The headset adapter lets you balance everything out when your online with a pal, very easy to use.Highly recommended.

I have seen these headphones in the shops for almost double the price, so buying them on amazon was a no brainer. They are a great set of head phones, has made my gaming experiance even better, the deatail of the sound out can hear is amazing, not only can you get very clear directional sound left and right but at times you can even tell weather someone is walking on the level above or below you, it is like 4D sound. They do use the batteries in the control quite quickly if you are the type of person to play games for a long period of time so you may want to invest in rechargeable batteries at the same time.I bought these for my dad at christmas and after he said they were brilliant i bough some for myself. They are light enough that you can hear them for hours without discomfort. Every now and again they can crackle, but this is rare and i believe has more to do with the fact that my xbox and headset are at opposite ends of the room.I would recomend these to anyone, i am glad i bought them and will never be with out them again.Fallout 4 is a great game and even better with these headphones, i have not played any other games with them yet but i expect they will be ace, which ever game you chose to play.Due to the standard connector the headphones working all the devices like phones, computers and iPads. I have used them on several occasions on other devices and they work brilliantly.

I recently purchased these headphones as the headset that came with the xbox had finished their life span.I have to say that these headphones are amazing,I have listened to music through these and the quality is amazing and there is a good amount of bass. When in party chat on the xbox the chat quality is crystal clear just like the other headset. The only small problem with the headset is that my friends are telling me that I am too quiet when I am speaking normally meaning that the mic needed to be increased in length as it is too short and really quiet.I also use this headset with my pc when I game and listen to music. The adapter which comes with the headset is very useful too because itallows you to listen to game sound with no other wires other than the plug you put into the remote. It allows you to adjust the volume between party and game volume so that you are able to hear both very well. The design is great as well because it is not made of cheap tacky plastic but is made of a good durable material designed to last longer when used frequently. The headphones surround my ears nicely and i do not feel any discomfort when using these for long sessions.I am so glad i waited for the price to drop as they are worth the £48 i payed for them.I really recommend these, you will not regret it!

Fantastic product for the money. It fits my head perfectly with only the slightest adjustment and I'd say I have an average sized head. After some of the reviews I've read I'm wondering how big exactly are some of your heads if you can't get this to fit, seriously. It was very easy to update the controller - just connect the headset to the controller then hook the controller to the xbone via usb and just wait a few seconds and your ready to go. The xbone will prompt you to do this when it detects the headset.I've been playing destiny a lot and the headset really does enhance the experience. You can tell what direction gun fire is coming from and you can also hear what direction near by loot iswhich wouldn't happen through the tv.Some people complained about their friends not being able to hear them and the mic being too far away. My friends say they hear me perfectly. I would suggest though that if you are on party chat whilst playing a game, turn the game volume way down and the chat volume way up. This way you can still actually hear yourself talk and make out what's being said to you. You will still be able to hear the game fine.I have quite big ears I think but there is plenty of room to house them inside the headset. I have to say it is pretty comfortable.
