If you already own or have read about the Xbox One, then you already know what the Xbox One S is capable of. as far as gaming is concerned. It's still a HD gaming console with a great library of games that look and play virtually the same as the Original Xbox One. If connected to a 4k TV it will 'upscale' the resolution to match instead of leaving the TV to handle that but its still a HD games console. Don't misunderstand, there is nothing wrong with that but don't expect games to suddenly look better than the original console because it upscales the output to 4k. The biggest and most notable difference in games is HDR but you would need a full (not compatible)HDR TV to see the wider colour gamut and significantly increased contrast ratio. (Some TV's claim HDR or HDR compatibility but can't deliver HDR10 quality - if unsure look for UHD Premium certified TV's)The Xbox One S also has a 4k UHD Blu-ray player that plays 4k HDR Blu-ray discs. Its not as feature rich as a dedicated Blu-ray player that offers more sound ourput options (Such as Dolby Atmos) and the disc spinning is a bit louder too so may not suit those Audiohiles with state of the art sound set ups but it still offers 5.1 surround sound. Its a great, cheap option that also doubles up as a great games console with 4K streaming (if you have a Subscription to Netflix - Although most 4K HDR TV's have smart functions that offer 4k HDR streaming too). At the moment though, its still the cheapest 4K HDR Blu-ray player. The Xbox One S is a great introduction to 4K HDR media and HDR gaming.Moving on to this specific bundle. The console itself looks fantastic with its custom livery. The claw marks are laser etched and relatively deep too. It has custom sounds when you turn on and off as well as eject the disc. They do sound a bit tinny though and the 'screech' when ejecting does sound as if you need WD40 to fix the mechanism. The console comes with 2TB of storage and that can easily ve increased with an External HDD. If you have an Xbox One with an External HDD, its a simple case of just plugging that in to transfer your game collection. The supplied controller itself features the same design ethos that the console has and also features a laser etched claw mark. I would have preferred the Elite GoW controller - especially for the price! The bundle ships with a digital download of Gears of War 4 too. Not just the standard edition but the premium edition and includes a lot of bonus digital content for the MP/Horde modes. It also comes with the Season Pass too. The game is also a HDR game and the visuals - especially in HDR - are probably the best seen on Xbox one to date. Its a full 1080p 30fps (Campaign) game with the MP/Horde running at 60fps. Story wise, the campaign is around 10hrs although that can depend on difficulty and whether you spend time looking for the collectibles. The Story itself does continue on from the events of the previous trilogy. Personally I think the game-play is very familiar with a few new additions. As a fan of the trilogy though, I didn't find the story as 'great' as some of the others but its not 'bad'. The missions are relatively varied but the inclusion of some Horde mode style sections were a bit lacklustre in design but it does have some great moments. I do think the Coalition were in a difficult position - change too much and it wouldn't be Gears, not change enough and it would seem a copy and paste game. However, considering the game as a whole, its a good start for them - I wish the campaign was a bit longer and characters (and Dialogue) was as deep as those in the trilogy but that could develop with Gears 5. MP is familiar too with a few new modes and Horde is back but with a few new changes - like classes. Overall the game is worthy of being a Gears game and it seems that the Coalition have understood the essence. Its definitely a game I would recommend. In summary, the Bundle is great for anyone looking to buy an XB1s, looking for an introduction to 4k Media and HDR gaming. Its a must have for Gears fans - especially those who have or want a 4k HDR TV. The supplied game is also one I would highly recommend. Its visually stunning - even more so in HDR and a great start by new developers, the Coalition.

Over the years I've switched from the Playstation series to Xbox and back again more times than I can count. From having a PS4 Pro for the last year I can say this is not as great, Of course I am comparing this to the Pro which may not be fair. The bad things:There are framerate issues on a few games, The newer games that have been released are clearly not meant to be run on this but on the Pro it does just fine, But I don't believe that's the console fault. In terms of a console itself? It's not bad, a partial upgrade from the original Xbox one but nothing to shout home about. The good things:Despite being a Playstation lover as of recent the price of this is really competitive compared to anotherPro which is what I was going to buy as they were both released the same year so without looking up the stats you would think they had almost the same capabilities. The home page is fun and interactive. Each press of the down pad changes the backround display and the additional features it displays are fast and without lag.The controller has a very impressive battery life. That does depend on the batteries you put in it of course but despite playing it almost non stop for 19 hours they are still going strong and are nowhere near half empty.Xbox games pass is £1 for a month, and this is great, some of the games on there are quite new and others make you relive your childhood when you see what they have on there.Switching from games to A video player/streaming app is quick and very responsive. No waiting for the console to catch up or waiting for one thing to fully close,The best feature I love about this compared to the original Xbox one is that they have now managed to put the power supply inside the console, meaning no more large block sitting behind the console, That mixed with being able to now stand this console up on its side means it can make for a very attractive display. If you're looking for the best of the best console with high frames and extremely fast game processing power, Then get a PS4 Pro or the Xbox One X.But if you're looking for a console to have fun on. play some games, watch some Netflix, then this is very good for it's price.Whatever console you decide to purchase i would recommend looking on YouTube for console comparisons on what game you are most wanting to play. It will show you the loading times and frame rates of what console can do what.

Ok guys, I'm going to try and review this technological marvel that I have received today. Be aware that this review might be a spoiler for my Children, as this is a Xmas present for them all.As usual Microsoft market their products well and this is obvious with the box, it has all the usual information on it.. The box is small, about half the size of the Xbox One I received a few years back, but, there is a weight to it, which is promising.Once inside the box you get all the things packaged in little parcels, which really does set the scene for the entire experience, I again was like a little child opening a packet of chocolates. The Xbox s is actually very small and I could almost forgive myself for saying it is closer to the size of a Wii than the original Xbox one,it is solid, heavy and well built. The connections are HDMI in and out, three USB connections, an IR out, S/PDIF out and a Ethernet out connection. What amazes me is that the geniuses at Microsoft have managed to get everything required inside the Xbox and have lost the power brick, (I am looking forward to seeing how this beast keeps cool.)The controller is a bit of a let down, I will elaborate and I must say that it feels cheaper and less robust than its contempory day one edition controller. However I will say that having Duracell batteries with it has brought my spirits up a little, (no tears on Xmas day). Buyers beware, I feel that this new controller wont be a long term laster though. The Minecraft games and bundles are all scan cards and I guess that this is a bonus, my kids never went to the disks welfare lesson. You also receive a Xbox live Gold code and the usual paraphernalia regarding EU regulations. The remainder of the items are a power lead and a HDMI cable.Microsoft I feel that you are onto a winner with this little beast, I think the edition of a 4K Ultra HD disk player is an absolute game winner, I cant wait till Xmas day.

Xbox One S 2TB Console - Gears of War 4 Limited Edition BundleIt's expensive, there's no denying that it's expensive. The standard, 500GB Xbox One S costs around £240 (and that's usually with FIFA thrown in!) so you're spending £160 extra for an additional 1.5TB of HDD space, the Ultimate edition of Gears of War 4 (which is, admittedly £80 on its own), and a sexy paint job.... But hot damn, that paint job. This is easily the best looking custom console I've ever seen, with incredible attention to detail. Both the console and the controller have numerous GoW-inspired decals, a blood-red finish and laser-etched scratch marks that give the impression of being war-torn. The console also has custom "chimes" (from Gears)that play when the console is turned on/off or a disc is inserted. The power-chimes can be disabled in the system settings. While it's not the most understated of designs (it won't suit everyone) I think it looks incredible. In terms of the Xbox One S itself, it's a great console with (arguably) the best controller in the business. Microsoft have consistently been on-point the last few years, with gamer-centric messaging, less game delays than the competition, 360 backwards compatibility, UI improvements, and even recent PC "cross buy" (with all first-party games going forward). The Xbox One S adds to this with a good 4K Blu Ray player (which has been tested), NETFLIX 4K streaming, and native upscaling (not rendering) to 4K (which should reduce input lag/image inaccuracies over letting your TV upscale). It's not going to do native 4K gaming like the PS4Pro (or Scorpio), and it's still an XBOX One (so many PS4 games will continue to be released at higher resolutions) but, as an overall package I believe the Xbox One S is the best console available at the time of writing.

For those still on the fence about purchasing an Xbox One S in general, then two factors need to be taken into account; firstly, whether or not you have a TV capable of a 4K resolution and HDR10, and secondly if you’re more interested in waiting a year to plump down the cash for the Xbox One Scorpio, which Microsoft is billing as the world’s first truly 4K-ready console. If you don’t own a 4K/HDR10 TV, then it’s unlikely that the Xbox One S will do anything for you. Though it may make some of your games look slightly better, you won’t be taking advantage of the console’s capabilities in any meaningful capacity, and as such it likely won’t be worth its asking price. However,if you do then it’s a worthy upgrade for the native 4K Blu-ray player and video streaming alone, with its HDR gaming a nice extra bonus that is sure to have a more robust line-up of titles that support it in the coming months. If you fall into the latter camp, then it may be worth holding off until the Xbox One Scorpio if you’ve got your heart set on 4K console gaming. Though details are very light on the ground, the Xbox One S doesn’t offer a true 4K experience and, while it’s very reasonably priced, could therefore prove to be quite off-putting for some. Personally, I’m a big fan of the design of the Gears of War 4 Xbox One S, and its function as both an inexpensive UHD Blu-ray player and a HDR gaming system makes it a very attractive purchase. If you have the TV necessary to make the most of it and are partial to a bit of Gears of War, then you should strongly consider purchasing this limited edition console comes with gears of war 4 game and season pass.

Having wanted to purchase some kind of gaming console for quite a while, I am absolutely thrilled to receive this. As of writing this, I have been using the console for just under a month, and have played in it every day since, for four hours each. The inclusion of Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order was what persuaded me to opt for the Xbox One, instead of Sony's PlayStation 4. The console is fantastic and runs every game perfectly, without too much heat being produced from the cooling fan. The cooling fan does make a slight bit of noise, but is you have a speaker connected or your headset on, you will not notice the sound. The console is a good size to fit anywhere, however I would recommend purchasing a vertical stand to allow it to squeeze into smaller spaces. The wireless controller is comfortable to hold, and the buttons and joysticks are in comfortable locations for extended periods of play. The vibrations in the controller which are triggered by certain events in game, help to make the gaming experience more immersive. One downside to the controller is the battery life. Straight out of the box, the controller requires two AA batteries in order for the wireless capabilities to function, but you can play with the controller wired with a micro USB cable plugged into the console. In order to avoid any excess costs on batteries, I would recommend investing £10-£20 on some rechargeable battery packs, to keep your controllers powered permanently, providing you remember to charge them!

the XBOX ONE s is a fine piece of engineering and design, couple that with the amazing art of gears of war 4 and you get this. The console is a must have for any gears of war fan and i cant recommend it enough. The console is a deep red colour and the laser cutouts on this are just amazing, The console also has custom sounds, On eject it plays the "juvies scream" and power on and off toggle between the Crisom omen sound and the mission complete claxon. The controller is a step up as well, featuring a headphone port and Bluetooth connectivity its a real gem.The game is amazing, the story can feel abit dragging in some respects but you are always doing something and what you are doing has a scene of urgency and importance. The artwork directors have done an amazing job, seriously the colors in the game are gorgeous, paired with a HDR 4K TV you are in for a out of this world experience of unrivaled game play. The addition of new enemies and robots give Gears what its needed for a while... something new. Gears 4 is certainly my favourate gears game to date. There will be a gears of war 5 as the cliffhanger at the end is unreal if you understand it.PROS -Good design and amazing artworkNew style controller"FRESH GAME" the franchise reborn.Amazing cliffhanger endingCons-Download time (60GB almost)Online is abit buggy but im sure they will sort it (remember the mess gears 2 was when it launched ? )

As a long-time PlayStation user from PS1 to PS4 I have missed out on more than a few Xbox exclusive games that were never released on other consoles. Xbox One now has backwards compatibility with many games from Xbox 360 and now some from the original Xbox as well. They also look better and have better performance than they did on the original console, because of the way the backwards compatibility works. If you have the disc version already you can just insert it and it will download the Xbox One compatible version for you, although you'll still need the disc inserted to play it if you do it that way. Otherwise it'll just give you a generic error message. Not all games are compatible yet so it's important to check if each game is before you buy it.Unlike previous Xbox One models the S has an internal power supply so you won't have an external "power brick" that you'll need to find space for. It can also play 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray discs, if you don't mind spending somewhere between £15 to £30 per film. I took one star off because it's only really worth it if you've never had an original Xbox and Xbox 360, and missed out on a lot of older Xbox exclusive games. The Xbox One has nothing going for it when it comes to newer games. Multiplatform games look better and run better on the PS4, and there are almost no Xbox One exclusives that would be of interest to solo players.

As far as I see it, there are two major competitors for the gaming console market and that being the Xbox and Playstation. Yes, there is Nintendo with their Switch which is an excellent product, but it doesn't currently offer the major titles such as Call of Duty, Battlefield and some of the EA sports titles (even though it now does offer Fifa.)I grew up mostly on the Playstation family, but when most of my friends/co-workers were buying X-box, I decided to switch to enable me to play mulitplayer/online games with them. I'm so happy I did as it adds so much to the games being able to play online. Current day consoles also now offer much more than just gameplay - you can download apps to enable you to watch Netflix,Amazon Prime and Youtube to name just a few. With the massive amount of games out there at the moment, it's a great gaming system. Would I recommend the Xbox - definitely. Is there a winner between the Xbox and Playstation at the moment - Truthfully - NO! If you are a parent buying for your son/daughter, just check which console their friends are playing on first - No point getting an Xbox if their friends are playing on the Playstation and vice versa.

I was back n forth between PS4 and Xbox one and was leaning more towards Sony until I found out that my ps3 games could not be played.so that swung it for me and I bought a few older 360 games that were enabled for the One.I am impressed with the speed of the Xbox and how much it's pushed into gaming.GTA V looks gorgeous and everything feels more solid in it rather than the PS3 version that I played through.my One s came from Cash Converters in Stirling and I would just like to give them a huge shout for wrapping my unboxed One in enough bubble wrap to FLOAT a battleship :Dwas nice n fast delivery too and the cost of posting it was less than most paperback books on Amazon these days that arepre owned.in fact the GTA v I got as pre owned from Amazons postage was £2.60 whereas Cash Converters charged just over £1.60 for the One. go figure.

Looks great, i have 2 x Gears Xbox 360 SE and the xbox one SE looks much better. I managed to grab the last one from amazon before the price increase to £399.The controller is generally very good apart from the fact all buttons are coloured black with very faint writing on them so if you are a newbie to Xbox this might prove frustrating. There is also a slight creak at the top between bumbers.Just to confirm there is no headset included but a vertical stand is but most disappointing is that Gears 1, 2 and 3 are not available to download.i see amazon have updated the listing and currently waiting on a reply from amazon and Microsoft to see why the previous Gears games are not included as originallyadvertised. No issue with any fan noise.Extremely quiet unit.

This Gears of Wars limited edition Xbox one S console is a great console.Looks very nice on a 4K tv. 4K blu ray drive, 2TB storage, very quiet and visually the console and the controller look fenomenal.Had the original launch xbox one a while back so I know what is all about. It comes with a 4K player built in like the normal white S model so great. Online downolads are a bit slow on the xbox one s though. Read is a common problem. My 360 downolads things a bit faster. If your internet is lets say 10-15mb you will have to wait for a bit. Also it is a bit pricey comparing it with the normal S but if you are a big fan of Gears of War this is a must have.Cant recommend this console enough though. Its amazing

Got this at such a great deal, for us that can't afford the new Xbox one x or just don't want it straight away until they work out everything. This is still a great system to own. The assassin's creed origins is a fantastic game, I've put in over 50+ hours of gameplay and im at 52% finished. That is what I call a game! Not these games with 5 hour campigns. Havn't really played the rainbow six. Recommended to anyone who likes gaming or just for the 4k ultra hd blue ray. Well worth your money and time! The system is quite can't ever hear it. Graphics are fantastic and if the xbox one x is better well than darn we are looking at a great future ahead.

This console looks absolutely stunning. The scratch marks are a really nice touch, the colour and the form factor looks amazing, but only one complaint. The digital download for Gears of War 4 - Ultimate Edition takes FOREVER to install. If you have a really bad internet connection, expect to spend at least a day installing the game. At some point, my internet will download up to 15mbps, and drop down to 1 for more than 15 minutes. I wish Microsoft could've supplied the physical copy so I could AT LEAST play the game that I've been waiting for, for the past year.Overall, a really stunning console and a hell of a hard drive packed with it too!

Awesome console looks stunning with cool scratches purposefully there of course and the cog logo and all in cool crimson colour and gears 4 game is superb looks lush in hdr blows Sony exclusives out the water shame Amazon hadn't packed the game code in with it as advertised but on ringing them they did sort that out for me and I ended up buying a hard copy of the game seriously buy this console it's a decent little 4k blu ray player too and the controller so much more comfy and quality feeling then them tiny squeaky ps4 Controller that have the sticks in wrong place etc
