Bought this for the office to reduce wire clutter. Its very nice; all the good point are in the blurb above and they are all true. Bluetrack is great; i have it on my Sidewinder X8 at home; and the mouse even works on a glass coffee table. The only 3 flaws I have with this mouse.1) Good / bad point that the USB dongle is so so so small. Good; its compact; wont break and stores in the mouse easily. Bad is that I can never get it out of my usb on my office PC easily at all; since my office PC has hard to access USB its a pain. My laptop would be dine though.2) No forward button. I should have checked really; i assumed it had one since it has a back button. Oh well.3)You can program all the buttons (back/leftclick/rightclick/wheel) but you cannot program the tilting of the mouse wheel. It only acts as sideways / horizontal scrolling. On all other mouse (including the X8 using the same software from Microsoft) you can program this.If you dont need to program your tilt wheel; nor need a forward button then this product is 5 stars. It's very sleek; easy to grip and very smooth to use. Nice clicks on the clickers; smooth mouse wheel.NOT for gamers; this mouse doesnt have the functionality for a gamer; it lacks the clicking in the mouse wheel and extra buttons / programmable tilts.IS for office and general usage; smooth scrolling for flying through documents and precise pointing with its Bluetrack.

I've had this for a year now and have changed battery one, which was a surprise, as my previous Microsoft mouse last into infinity. I guess it's BlueTrack Technology consumes more battery. It does work though as I'm using it in my bed and have no problems. Its a good mouse for the price. The scroll wheel though is its main weakness. It is of the very smooth type, in other words, it does not have gaps in its internal wheel as the Logitechs and Dells have. Also, the click button of the scroll wheel is quite hard to press and with its smoothness and lightness, it sometimes opens in new tabs the below links of the ones I intended to. Otherwise, it's a good mouse. Small receiver that is stored underneath the mouse, and an on and off switch which is quite useful when using it in a bed like I do.

I had just bought a new samsung series7 laptop so wanted a good quality mouse that I could set up to my own spec. After looking at quite a few from both microsoft and logitech and considering reviews on each I went for this one and I am glad I did.It fits nicely in my hand, has a small USB and the matt finish makes it a pleasure to look at and hold!!I have programmed the side button and the centre scroll wheel button to do what I want which is great. A few reviews complained that the scroll wheel is not notched and turns smoothly, I personally do not find this a problem despite having aways used a notched wheel.I would certainly recommend this mouse without hesitation.Steve

I ordered the Microsoft Wireless Mouse 4000 to use with my HP laptop. I had read a highly favourable review in "Computeractive" magazine, issue 310, page 24. My old, 'cheapo' mouse was fine but having seen a friend's wireless mouse, I liked the idea of getting rid of a wire. The set-up was very simple and the USB receiver is extremely discreet. When not in use, you can store it in a slot on the bottom of the mouse. The mouse works on any surface that I've tried, and also has a remarkable range. What I perhaps like most of all is its really 'smooth' feel; it's light yet substantial. All in all, a great mouse for a good price!Microsoft D5D-00028 Wireless Mobile 4000 Mouse - Teal Blue

Loving it so far. It's taking me a little time to get used to as I've been using more compact mice for quite a while, but I understand a more substantial mouse is 'better for you'.It has a lovely feel, is very precise, and connects reasonably quickly (on my Vista computer). Works very well on most surfaces.I find the mouse-wheel movement a little sensitive, but this just takes getting used to. And perhaps it could be a little lighter, but I've struggled to concoct these criticisms. The pricing policy for the different colours is a bit odd. I suppose you should just decide which colour you prefer and accept that you might have to pay a few more quid for it.

I've had an older style Microsoft Mouse 4000 for the last 4 years which has generally been pretty good although the movement of it has become increasingly erratic over the last year hence the purchase of this one. I have to say this is excellent in every respect. The USB interface dongle is so small I leave it permanently in my laptop and the mouse has an on off switch so I can just turn it off when I'm done. I guess if you forgot to do that the battery life might suffer somewhat but equally it might go into a low power mode and not be a problem.Over all I'm a very happy customer.

This is the second exact same such mouse purchased. I found it very comfortable and works very well indeed on almost every surface I've ever used including fabrics. The size is excellent as I use it for travelling extensively and much prefer it over the finger pads so beloved by laptop manufacturers. The only downside was that after 6 years of use the rubber soft feel covering eventually wore off and the on/off switch was slightly temperamental. Ovearll a great mouse though and very pleased with it.

I bought this mouse because my old one had stopped working. It feels slightly too small for my liking, but looked to be the best shape out of the mice I was looking at. In comparison to my old mouse, I'd say I still prefer that (part of the Wireless Desk set 6000), but this does the job until I can find a more suitable replacement.

Probably the best and most user friendly mouse that I have used either with my main PC or my Laptop on the move.Smooth, precise and very accurate when editing images, battery life is excellent even for a hard user like myself. Will probably replace other mice with one of these on other machines in our offices.

I already had a Microsoft mouse so had no hesitation in getting a companion for my HP Envy laptop. I hate touch pads and put if with them for years but then decided to get this little beauty. It fits perfectly in the palm of the hand and is very well made and is very responsive to all surfaces.

Totally excellent piece of tech. Goes perfect with my samsung laptop and makes my music production soooo much easier and quicker. No glitches no hiccups smooth and works on any surface. I would definately recommend the Microsoft D5D00004 wireless mouse to family, friends and you!

Highly recomended, I purchased this to use with my Samsung notebook it comes with a very small Usb adapter about half an inch long, hardly noticable, which I leave in the notebook all the time, the mouse works well with no problems and as with Microsoft products is very well made

It's a shame they don't do a version for left handers. Occasionally I catch the side button which sends me back to a previous screen. Other than that it's a solid well made mouse.

Netbook size, smaller than regular mouse. Has on/off switch to save battery life. USB antenna is very small making it less prone to breakage. Works really well on shiny surfaces.

I liked the colour of this mouse, it has a smooth mechanism and is very responsive, had no problems with connectivity. Excellent quality product.
