I've been looking for a mouse as an alternative to my laptop touchpad which would mostly be used around the home, but which could go on the road with me too. The Mouse 3500 fits the bill very nicely.Ergonomically, it's similar in width and height to the basic Mouse 1000, but is a couple of centimetres shorter; in practice I don't really feel the difference as I use a finger grip. The full-sized buttons have a light, clicky response and the click wheel - although small - is very well-placed and nicely textured. It's a little on the stiff side which means that it doesn't roll quite as smoothly as I like but that might ease off over time. An unexpected perk is the grippy material applied to the nicely-countoured sides. It glides smoothly and easily over my mouse pad.Bluetrack works as advertised. Although I've not had much reason to, the mouse seems to track reliably and surprisingly smoothly across all sorts of flat and rumpled surfaces. You really can use it on your leg, although the arm of a chair is a bit more practical. Sensitivity is good too. I keep my mouse speed cranked up to reduce the amount of movement I have to make the mouse keeps up really well. The "nano" transceiver lives in the side of my laptop unobtrusively and talks to the mouse over quite a long range. I've been able to walk out of the room and still get a response so it's more than adequate. There's a storage space for the receiver on the underside of the mouse itself, and on some of Microsoft's mobile mice, storing the transceiver is how you turn the mouse off. On this mouse, there's a power switch instead, which is actually very convenient. I don't have to unplug the transceiver to save the mouse's battery. Speaking of which, it takes a single included AA battery, and I'll update the review when it runs out. There's a small battery light behind the scroll wheel that turns green briefly when the mouse is switched on. When the battery's low, that should glow red. Very handy. The mouse works almost immediately on plugging it in on Windows 8. Microsoft's "Mouse and Keyboard Center" software provides a lot of extra customization options that come in handy (such as the mouse speed and acceleration) but it's not really necessary. All in all this is a perfectly good substitute for a real desktop mouse, with the benefits of being small and light. Recommended.Update - After nine months of using the mouse for a couple of hours a week, the battery is still going strong. I've taken it on the road on a couple of occasions and can't fault it for durability. There's still no discernible wear or tear on the side grips, the buttons or the wheel. Very impressed.Update - After about 2 years of occasional home use interspersed with the occasional week of really heavy use when travelling, the original AA battery which came with my mouse has expired. The mouse itself is working as well as the day I bought it. Fantastic.

Hello,1. DesignRegular notebook size mouse, fits very nice (I only hold mice with 2 fingers on the buttons and fingertips on the sides, I do not rest my palm on the mouse.) Rubber to the sizes promote grip and quality. The mouse feels solid when lifted up, no moving parts inside. Slots at the bottom to keep the USB receiver for travel is very practical.Power switch at the works better for me than a push button. The laser is blue, which looks better than red!2. Connectivity and TravelThis is a wireless mouse so no cable to carry around (almost a given but worth mentioning because the top of the line gaming mobile mouse comes with cable...) It is very compact and fits in my laptop bag very well. Also I do a lot of travel due to work, from commuting on the tubes to flying... and the mouse is always with me so lots of shuffling and being tossed around which should wear the mouse out faster than normal but it's still going 100% after 1 year. The USB receiver works really nice, almost never need to wait for windows to install drivers. I use it on my work laptop which runs Windows 7 Professional 64bit and my personal one which is 32bit and never have a problem. I used it on client and friends laptops also and never have a problem either.3. Battery lifeSeriously I had the mouse for almost a year and use it everyday and some in the evening also and sometimes forget to turn it off. So that's how much I use it everyday yet I completely forget what kind of battery it uses... because the last time I changed the battery was too long ago. That's how good the battery life is. a single AA battery will last you a few months. I turn the mouse off when I sign off at work and before I go to bed. If you never turn it off I suspect your mileage will vary...Overall I am very happy with my purchase of this even at MSRP price. Wish I could've gotten it at Amazon price for almost 70% lower!

I bought this wireless mouse a while back from Sainsbury’s, after my previous Toshiba Wireless mouse had stopped working. I paid £9.99 for it from there, as it was half price. The colour that I went for was blue, although there were manty other colours like Red and Black.I brought it back home, and was pleased to see an AA Duracell Battery in the box, so I could use it right away.It has a very nice feel to it, for my hands especially, and also takes up hardly any space, so it can fit in your pocket if needs be. The bottom and the side of the mouse, ids made out of a very soft and smooth black plastic, and the top, a slightly thinner blue plastic. The blue is a shiny blue, and the black is more a matte black. It requires 1 AA battery, which I find lasts for a very long time. I have used 2 since I got it (about 3 years ago) and I forget to turn it off overnight quite a lot. However, I probably don’t use my computer as much as you do, but 2 AA batteries have lasted me 3 years, with still some battery leftIt is very easy to connect to any laptop or Monitor, you just have to remove the USB out of the bottom of the mouse (By pressing the button above the USB (see photo)) and plug it into a USB in your monitor. Then, you need to click accept on your computer, and turn it on. You will find that it work, and also it doesn’t take much space out of the side of the computer (See photo)Overall, for £10-£23, depending on the colour, you can grab yourself a bargain that will last you a long time, and is easy to use.+ Cheap+ Easy to use+Good size+Comes in various colours and designs

Breaking it down into pro's and con's:Pro's:* Bluetrack really works! I am planning on upgrading my desktop also to a Bluetrack mouse. It works on surfaces a normal laser mouse doesn't. The only place it did not work on is when I tried it on the dog's head (that was not well received by the dog).* Feels and looks sturdy. I like the rubbery feel.* No issue with installing the mouse. Just plug it in and it works (Win7 Prof 64bit)* Large scroll wheel. This is really important to me. The higher model (4000) has a smooth scroll-wheel and this one has a larger wheel with a gear kind of feel. I have not used the higher model but I hate a smooth scroll wheel especially if it is small. As soon as a bit of dust gets into the mechanism the smooth one will be terrible to use (from previous experience with MS mice).Con's:* Middle click button (for a third button) is a bit over iffy. If you keep the mouse 100% still and then click on it. It works. But just moving the mouse slightly or not pressing it all the way makes the free scroll option appear (that I hate) in a browser. I am hoping this will correct itself as I press down on the middle button more (I use it quite a lot when opening a link to a new tab in a browser.* No software to set mouse specific options (but then I have read complaints of bloat-ware if this is installed (available with the higher model)).

This mouse is available in various colours and designer patterns. This variant is a brilliant gloss red colour. Interestingly, many of the designer versions are actually cheaper than the plain colours - are they less popular? The USB dongle is nano-sized and plugs into the base of the mouse for storage. The mouse uses a single AA battery and is supplied with a Duracell AA cell so you can use it right away. 1.2v rechargeable AAs also work fine. Unlike my older 3000 mouse which used a red LED, this mouse uses a blue light for tracking. I can't say it's any better but it works fine on my wood desk without a mouse mat. This 3500 mouse is also slightly more compact than the 3000 series.Basic installation on a Windows XP machine is easy - just plug the dongle into a spare USB slot, and Windows will automatically load drivers. If you want to use it as a standard 2 button / scroll wheel mouse, that is all you need to do. For more advanced users, you can download MS Intellipoint software from the MS website (do a web search for "Wireless Mobile Mouse 3500 Intellipoint"). This software will let you control advanced features and reassign buttons etc.To summarise - a product which works as it should, appears well built and is from a reputable company. At £10 or less, it's a bargain!

Comfortable mouse, easy to use and responsive. The tiny sender unit fits unobtrusively into a USB socket of your PC or laptop. The MS Mobile Mouse 3500 is very slightly shorter than the MS Mobile Mouse 4000, but has a proper rubber scroll wheel rather than the 4000's thick rubber band over a hard plastic scroll wheel, which I was actively seeking to avoid buying again as this has proven to be the 4000's weak spot (as the rubber band always perishes and breaks off, leaving the small hard plastic wheel underneath behind). This mouse takes just 1 AA battery and is extremely easy on the juice, requiring replacement only every 2 months even when in full-time / 8 hr a day use.Not sure about the gloss light blue body - looks tacky to me but should be easy to keep clean and I couldn't argue with the price. I bought this for my Company already knowing what I was getting as I'd already bought the rather more tasteful looking silver and black version of this product for my own PC. I'd have bought the silver and black one again given the chance, but everywhere wanted twice the price of this blue model to buy one, so that took it out of the running.Read full review...

I have been using this mouse for a number of years now as my general laptop mouse. its a great little thing, nice and portable with the usb dongle sloting into it. it nice to hold, although a little awkward since it is so small (not for palmers out there) this is a definatly claw grip mouse. the sensor is great and really reliable on pretty much all surfaces. the battery life is outstanding! i leave it on the whole time and each battery lasts about 6 months with normal everyday use. it is well made, no manufacturing defects at all. nice rubber grip.As I said, i have used this mouse for a good 3-4 years now and still all works perfectly fine ACCEPT that the scroll wheel sensor often has off days when it will just spam you to the bottom of the page but will eventually sort itself out.usually after a battery change and wait till the next day.OVERALL: this little wonder mouse has served me very well these past few years but now its beginning to kick the bucket so i plan to replace it with the coolermaster havoc.

Having used one of these on my laptop for the last year I am very pleased with the performance and excellent battery life.I also used an old Belkin wireless mouse for my large screen P.C. but got fed up with the frequent battery changing (2 AA's) so I dropped a hint that another Microsoft 3500 wireless mouse would make a useful Christmas present.I was lucky to receive one, but on a large screen I am finding a surprising result. The scroll wheel on the new mouse is quite coarse in operation and results in large jumps, over half a page when scrolling. This makes it difficult to use the scroll wheel on documents because paragraphs cannot be positioned accurately for proof reading.I cannot find any adjustment in the software to alter this (yet)and the slider can be used in place of the scroll wheel so it's not a major problem, just awkward. It's a nicely made neat little laptop mouse but may be too small for large hands.

This is my second similar Microsoft portable mouse - the first now lives somewhere in Peru!Buying a second, near identical mouse was a no brainer. I think Bluetrack optical technology is brilliant. Mouse works on any surface (really, really any surface!), so it is great for travelling - sitting up in bed, in an aircaft, on a train, at a formica topped table, etc, without any need for a mat.Mouse is a little small for my (large) hand, but perfectly useable and very portable - and easy to lose! Battery life seem nearly infinite - a year on and I have not changed a battery. Wireless USB plug is tiny and stays plugged in on my netbook at all times. The mouse is not a replacement for a decent, weighty, ergonomic, wireless desktop mouse with lots of buttons and sensuous curves, but it is reliable, lightweight, highly portable and it works anywhere. Oh, and it's good value! Can't ask for more.

This is a good travel mouse - it's very compact. The back end of the mouse (furthest from the buttons) is very noticably cut away, so the heel of your hand doesn't get any support. The mouse as a whole is a bit small for my big hands, but that's to be expected. It's still a bit heavier than the el cheapo ones out there, which is nice. The click is a bit plasticky and the surface is very shiny, which means you get a bit stuck to it.BlueTrack is great, and the range is good too. Only takes one battery, which is also good. Battery life is not great, but it is adequate and the off switch means you can save it (if you remember).Mouse wheel is indexed and ridged: better than the unindexed smooth oneon the Mobile Mouse 4000 (the rubber rim came off both the mice I had).Good mouse: minus one star for overly smooth finish and battery life. Big hands need not apply if not for travel.

Well, like most people here I read the reviews with mixed thoughts on whether I'd bother buying one. The (Microsoft) mouse I had been using, was only a month old before it suddenly detached itself from reality, up meant down, left meant right, sometimes I'd have no idea where the cursor went. (In retrospect I shouldn't have thrown it across the room, bounced it off a wall then stamped on it, I should have repackaged it as a Space Shuttle flight training aid and flogged it to NASA, but I digress.)It's a bit smaller than a mouse I'd typically buy (and cheaper) but I am getting used to it, sure, it's basic with no side shifting scroll wheel and I wouldn't be quickest off the draw in a (virtual)gunfight but as I don't play 'shoot 'em ups' that's never going to be a problem, it works perfectly, nice and smooth straight out of the box.Sound as a pound, treat yourself.

I bought this because I am always using my laptop and am getting repetitive strain syndrome in my middle finger. It has helped a lot believe it or not. I bought a reputable make because I wanted something reliable and this is. Just plug in and turn on and away you go. It really is that simple. Not a lot more to say really. Its even a nice colour! I have two now red and pink! The mouse has a battery and I sometimes forget to turn it off but still it has lasted ages and ages. I love everything about it. Because I do not want to get repetitive strain in my wrist I use the mouse on a book so that my wrist is at a more natural angle so I guess all I would say to Microsoft is design one that is more ergonomically friendly, but having said that this is a standard design and not everyone will have my physical problems. So yes I really recommend it.Read full review...

Great little wireless mouse, very comfortable under the hand, one of a large range from Microsoft.Having left and right clickers and a central scroll wheel, it's powered by a single AA battery (use the Ultra version) and has a little on/off switch for battery saving when you're away from your PC. The wireless receiver is tiny and inserts to any USB port within the recommended range. I happen to have a USB multi-hub on my desktop within 12" of my mouse hand, so the range isn't a problem. Having no trailing cable it perfectly complements my wireless keyboard and serves to keep my work space uncluttered. If you want to use the mouse with a laptop, you can clip the receiver into the appropriate slot in the base of the mouse and take it with you. There's no installation programme, it's merely a plug in and use device.

Bought this for remote working from a Mac, and I've been pleasantly surprisedThe mouse is very lightweight and tiny, but fits comfortably in an average-sized hand. It seems to work on most surfaces, from a wooden table to the arm of a soft, with no jumping whatsoever. It also has a convenient slot inside the battery cover to stow the USB dongle (which when inserted into the USB slot protrudes only a few millimeters).Best of all, despite its light weight, it's very robust. I dropped it on my kitchen floor from 4 ft and, despite smashing noisily against the tiles skidding dramatically into the skirting board, the mouse seems to have suffered no ill effects whatsoever. For something which will usually be used on-the-go,it's good to know that it can handle being thrown about a bit!

Having originally purchased the flame red version of this mouse Microsoft Wireless Mobile Mouse 3500 - Flame Gloss Red, I was so impressed with it that I decided to get a spare. This Sally Zou design seemed nice and the price (at the time of writing) was even lower than the red version. For under £10, you get a comfortable-to-use wireless mouse that is very well built and much higher quality than some of the cheap chinese ones which might tempt you. The mouse uses a AA battery and works fine with a rechargeable AA. It emits a faint blue light from the base, but this is not visible during normal use.You can download the Sally Zhou wallpaper from here : [...](the mouse is a limited edition so not sure how long it will be on sale for)
