I've owned and used many Metz units over the years. All have been well made, easy to use and totally reliable. First impressions are that this one is built to carry on the Metz tradition!First let me say that my requirement is for a compromise between power and portability.The details given (sizes / weights) are pretty accurate, so no problem there, and I am very impressed with the way all the 'bits' are stored away. The wide-angle diffuser is hidden away ahead of the flash head, and can be extended / retracted as required. The clip-on Tele adapter is normally kept clipped on the flash-head for carriage, unclipped if not needed, then replaced as required. To keep the flash safe in the camera-bag,

This is a good simple flash. It's an obsolete model (replaced by the very similar AF-2), unless you're a Samsung owner as the new model doesn't cover these as Samsung is gradually dropping out of digital cameras.On my Samsung, it works well and takes nicely exposed photos. The wide angle flip up lens doesn't help much and I'd really like to be able to buy a push-on Stofen bounce unit, but there isn't one. It doesn't rotate but in the upright position does a 45 degree ceiling bounce,It isn't really very powerful, but a big step up from the built in flash. It isn't a huge step-up from my Samsung SEF15 in terms of power but the ability to bounce off the ceiling is great.

I have had one of these before for Samsung NX cameras and bought another for my Fuji XT. These are compact flashes giving good fill bounce flash in a average sized room and do a good job generally.
