I got this little beauty for my wii recently (A console by the way, that I've only recently discovered an appreciation for). Having never played any of the other Metroid games (Yes, I know I've missed out), I wasn't sure what to expect, what attracted me initially was the value, three "epic adventures in a single deluxe package," for the price of one game. And the packaging, OK maybe not the making or breaking of a game, but like any product its important, the case comes in a nice sleeve, simple, subtle cover art that dosen't give too much away, it comes with a nice artwork and history insert, it all adds to the feel of what it is, a nice, neat, definitive collection,perfect for newbies to the Metroid series like me.So, I got it home and wasted no time starting her up. On the main menu, you have three slots to create game profiles, you can then choose which Metroid Prime title you want to play, so for me... I thought "Well, let's start at the beginning." My initial reaction was, well I wasn't blown away, I thought "Its OK," this was partly due to my inexperience with the wii controller, which made my first experience with Metroid Prime a frustrating one, which made me turn it off and walk away having not even managed to get through the frigate (With the intention that I'd come back to it later),after reading the manual more, reading an online walkthrough, watching a few walkthrough videos to get me started, I did indeed come back later, in a much more prepared frame of mind. My next attempt was a bit more satisfying, I'd started to get the hang of the controls, I cleared the frigate (Which is the first "level" I put that in quotes because, as I soon discovered, this game doesn't have levels as such), and got down to the planet. And this is where MP1 really blew me away.Not long after I got into the nearby ruins I realised that this wasn't just a standard linear first person shooter (As I'd thought it might be), but is a full blown adventure, with an exploration and puzzle solving elements and "Quest" style similar to that of the Zelda games (Among my favourite series), and well..... That was my weekend gone, I've already spent solid hours on this, playing until my wii remote batteries were flat, then simply replacing them and carrying on! And I'm still on the first game! The controls, now that I've got the hang of them, are incredibly responsive, you use the wiimote and the nunchuck, the graphics, while a little dated (At least on the first one, 1+2 are Gamecube ports, while the third one is exclusively for the wii), are still gorgeously rendered and highly detailed, so you are treated to some wonderful scenery whenever you go through a door, or to a different part of the world, the world is.... HUGE, there are so many places you can explore, forest, waterfalls, groves, ancient ruins, temples, fire caves, ice caves, mines.The difficulty can sometimes be a bit unforgiving at times, it is certainly challenging, especially at later stages. the boss battles are.... Epic, to say the least, you'll end the battle with heart pounding and hands trembling and sweating! The sound and music is perfect. My only gripe so far is all the backtracking you have to do can become a little tiresome, but its only a minor complaint.Its been a long time since I was this entheusiastic about a game, to the point where I'm driving home from work excited about getting in and playing!Overall, really good fun, very challenging and great value for money. What are you waiting for?

Hello I'm lance also known on YouTube as SuperRaveman. Metroid Prime Trilogy well firstly let me say that the metroid franchise is the best Sci-Fi franchise Nintendo has ever made and is also way better than Halo. Microsoft complained that when they brought out the first halo upto the third halo game that the metroid prime's came out at the same time. I say so what if the metroid prime's came out the same time the metroid franchise is awesome and samus would kick Spartan's ass cos she has gone up against the space pirates, mother brain, the Metroid Queen so I think that spartan would be simple to take down. As he shoots bullets where samus fires beams like Power Beam, Wave Beam, Ice Beam,Plasma Beam, Dark Beam, Light Beam, Annihilator Beam, Nova Beam and Hyper Beam. Missiles, Super Missiles, Ice Missiles. She even morphs into a ball and sets off Bombs and Power Bombs. Where as spartan just has grenade's, pistol, assault rifle and etc. So yea samus would destroy him in a second. So Metroid is the greatest sci-fi by Nintendo. So yea here is Metroid Prime Trilogy and may I say that this game is worth the price and when you own a copy treasure it just like I do I don't own a wii no more but I'm still keeping Metroid Prime Trilogy and Other M cos to me I own em and they are priceless not even all the money in the world will make me sell mine. (Sorry about that). Yea metroid prime trilogy includes all three of the Metroid Prime Games, Metroid Prime, Metroid Prime 2 Echoes and Metroid Prime 3 Corruption all on 1 disc I also comes with artwork including samus's past. Manual. In Prime 1 and 2 the controls have been altered for the wii remote and nunchuk, improved graphics, and you can also use the credits you earn to buy all tunes you here in each game. And trust me this is a game you will always want to re-play time and time again. So I would say that this is a MUST HAVE!! Because its just totally and purely awesome. And also this collectors edition is classed by me as a rare find as you won't find this one in many game stores mainly only on here and ebay. I'm sorry for talking too much or taking to long. But I know that this will help you. Also don't worry about me saying Collectors Edition as they only brought a Collectors Edition.Thank-you For Reading My Review On.Metroid Prime Trilogy Collectors EditionKind Regards And ThanksLance Aaron JenkinsSuperRavemanAnd remember{Dance Hard}{Rave Harder}{Hardcore All The Way}

This compilation contains three games: Metroid Prime, Metroid prime 2: Echoes, Metroid Prime 3: Corruption.The first two games have been released on the Nintendo gamecube quite some years ago, while Corruption has been released for the Nintendo Wii just a couple years ago or so.Since all the games have been released already, it is important to review what is new.Nothing has changed in Metroid prime 3: Corruption, as far as I can tell.Regarding Metroid Prime and Metroid Prime 2: Echoes, the obvious big difference is in the control scheme, which takes advantage of the Wii remote to aim on screen. The result is honestly great. There are three control settings, and I advise to play with the professional-advanced settings,which are very responsive and really a blast to play with.Controls are very tight and the whole experience is really enhanced by the quality of them.There are some graphics enhancements to the 2 games: specifically the inclusion of 16/9 support and progressive scan.These cosmetic changes are welcome, and round up a presentation of the compilation which is really good.The graphics of the first two games appear to be crisp and very nice, although I can spot a general feeling of low resolution texture mapping here and there. The 3rd episode on the other hand solves this problem and looks technically amazing.But forget the number of poligons or the texture effects. Tech is great, but here, all the three games deliver an artistic view, where attention to details is really the amazing point.If you never played any of the titles in the compilation, this is really the best way to enjoy one of the best games of all time (Metroid Prime), plus its incredibly good sequels.If you played already one or more of the games, consider that the new controls are so good that in my opinion it is worth playing the games again.Three amazing games for the price of one is really a great value, especially when the games share this level of quality.This compilation is really recommended.

My partner suggested I go find a game for her Wii after I complained of boredom with the 360 and it's utter lack of compelling titles. With low expectations, I browsed for something that might appeal to my hardcore sensibilities - whilst not visually resembling something from a two-year-old's Playmobil toybox. And lo! Metroid Trilogy? I'd heard of that ... and an FPS, of all things? I'd heard of COD and such like being ported to the Wii, but the universal lambasting and panning they received made me disregard any idea of purchasing them, even though the idea of using the nunchuk and wand for FPS was once, extremely appealing.Well, I bought this package, it being good value and all,and on the basis of playing the first in the series, Metroid Prime, I can unequivocally say that it's the best FPS I have ever played. Yes, an eleven-year-old FPS experience beats the modern-day COD/BF3 churn hands down, purely for being excellently paced, extremely difficult, cerebrally taxing and utterly compelling - to say nothing about how the controls are an absolute revelation to me, as a keyboard/mouse/joypad junkie of countless years.I would also like to say the game is brilliantly innovative, but that would be to profess enormous ignorance of the fact that FPS games (and all 'hardcore' titles in general) have been increasingly dumbed down in the years since these games have been released. To compare the gameplay of Metroid with modern FPS titles is really unfair, in a kind of diametrically opposed way of comparing COD's graphics on the 360 with that of Metroid Prime on the GameCube (even though they are surprisingly good, too). There is simply no competition.It is very telling of today's game publishing standards that in 2013, a game consumer gets blown away by the quality of an eleven-year-old game. Not because it is surprisingly good for its age, but because it somehow has not provided any impetus for the genre to evolve in its direction.And that makes me sad.

This is by far one of the best games I have ever played in my gaming life, which spans now for almost two decades. This is a series for people who is into gaming as a serious activity. It requires deep immersion and study of different aspects of the environment, enemies and devices. It is a powerful sci-fi game - loosely based on the Aliens films.It is not just a first-person shooter but a puzzle game and even third-person game at a few events. It is full of action and adventure in-between your study of the worlds and an item-rich environment makes you comb every little corner of the game and rewards are up for grabs if you do.The graphics are one of best ones I've seen.Loading times are kept at a very minimum (the main ones only take place while you're starting one of the games). With Metroid Prime and Metroid Prime 2: Echoes updated graphics for the Wii, they pretty much look just as sleek as the third installment, Metroid Prime 3: Corruption.The controls are already very good in the GameCube series. Now they are simply astoundingly better. I am playing both GameCube versions with a great sense of surprise even though I played them previously on the GameCube controller. Aiming is also improved and is more reliant on gamer aiming ability - although you can switch back to the easy way.Plus, you get the three games in one CD, which is VERY practical. This is a must buy for any serious gamer. This series made me completely rethink shooting games - which I was not very found of - but have absolutely changed my mind. I hope Metroid is an infinite series with games spanning to the next century.Definite buy. Totally recommended. Seamless play. Deeply immersing game and also a very long one, which is super.

Alright, so some of you have probably played these games before - for GameCube. I haven't, so can't compare them. But I have had this compilation for around 4 months. I enjoy playing it immensely. What I do want to touch on is that, even though some may consider me a n00b for saying this, I am not kidding when I say it's pretty hard. Not as in, "Oh, damn! I can't do it!" hard, more like, "What the hell do I do now?" hard. You know what I mean. I mean, more than once, I've had to use IGN Guides, which are really useful for figuring out what to do if you're stuck. But as I say, without them, I'd be screwed. Also, just look at that packaging. It's awesome! But you don't buy a game on the packaging,you buy it for the quality, of which this game has in abundance. It takes a little time to get used to the control scheme, (well, actually, I didn't find it hard the first time, but when I play multiplayer with friends, they take ages to pick up, and even then they're n00by) but once you've mastered it, it's easy street in the energy department - I've never died in all my playing of it. I've come uncomfortably close a couple of times, but so far as I'm concerned, most people find it hard to die in single player. As aforementioned, the problem is more how you can never know what the hell you're meant to do in several places. But anyway, to summarise, an absolutely brilliant game, definitely worth buying. SO MUCH FUN! Buy it. Buy it now, before somebody tell you you can't afford it with all the mortgage payments you've got to make. Go on. CLICK ADD TO BASKET! Well done. You listened - that's good to know.

There is almost no limit on the amount of praise that can be given to these games. The breathtaking scope , spanning vast areas of expansive landscape, every corner of which begs to be explored, along with the great variety of settings, make for an immersive experience beyond the reach of sheer graphical power. Each of these games will take you at least twenty hours to beat, and that is only if you rush. To get the maximum enjoyment out of them, you will want to take your time, exploring every area, gathering every collectible you can find and wringing every last drop of puzzle-solving, mind-taxing, skill-straining enjoyment that you can out of them.Do that and you are looking at well over a hundred hours of hypnotically engrossing gameplay, to say nothing of replays on harder difficulty settings. Indeed, the sheer amount of time that you will spend on these games will make you feel emotionally attached to them, and will only increase your level of immersion and the sense of realism that these games have to offer. There is no game collection that I know of that offers such value for money, still less that gives some of the highest qualities of entertainment ever to grace a disk-drive.

As the title says you don't get much more for the price. The Metroid games are regarded as one of the best shooters ever now I don't usually cite metacritic but check out the scores, they are ALL consistent so there must be some truth - can that word be used for opinion - to it.Anyhow this is all the metroid prime games on the console in one pack. The menus bonuses and stuff have been appropriately reworked. There have been a few enhancements like widescreen (480p) and some better loading time and higher resolution textures for the 2 gamecube games. One area that is lacking is the effects on some of the weapons. The animation on the weapons such as freezing on the ice beam (prime 1) are missing.Retro studios responded with something along the lines that it was a flat animation which can no longer be applied since the arm canon can now free aim (if you think back to the GC version it was always centred on your aim). Fair enough but for a re-work why not redo the animation accordingly.Anyway a small gripe for what could be considered one of the best gaming packs around. If you didn't get a chance to play/purchase these games now is the time.

I would gladly and rightfully give this a full 5 stars without exception however the condition of my desired Collector's Edition was not how I treat my own products which I always strive to maintain with the utmost care and quality. The instruction booklet was mangled and the outer sleeve was not as pristine as I would have liked it to be including the fold-out art book inside. Thank God the disc was in exceptional condition, but I would have imagined that for the price I paid, and for a Steelbook set that is NEVER the norm when it comes to anything that Nintendo has ever distributed, it would have been treated better than how I found it.I try to show great love and care for everything I own in order to maintain it's value and keep it in as close to the same condition as it was when I first bought it. Apart from this slight disappointment, the game is phenomenal in gameplay and production value overall demonstrating what a second party developer can accomplish when paid with the right amount of time and attention especially to such a renowned Nintendo property.

If you've played any / all of the Metroid Prime games previously, you already know what they're like. Previously, I had played Metroid Prime 3 but missed out on the other 2 due not not owning a Gamecube at the time.So, whats new? Well, all the games now use the brilliant motion control system that was pioneered in Metroid Prime 3. Also, Prime 1 & 2 have had thier graphics updated slightly and also now run in 16:9.As a game, I find it's excellent. It's got plenty of action, but unlike other first person shooters, the puzzles in the game require some serious thinking to get around as well.Obviously a must for the die-hard Nintendo fans, but also well worth a look if your after serious quality in a game.Obviously, it wont have the same graphical power as Call of Duty, (and despite this I think it looks REALLY good), but I always say that if a game is good enough, graphics don't really matter.

Firstly the fact that you are getting three games is a plus in its self as where else could you get three full games for the price of one game ? Having owned Metriod Prime on the gamecube and have played Metriod Prime 2 i already knew they were quality games. What makes them so much better here is the inclusion of Metriod Prime 3 wii controls that are one of the best first person contol schemes for any console!! All three games contain good storylines and lots of gameplay to keep you playing. Another neat feature is that the collectables system from 3 (where you are rewarded tokens in game and can give tokens to people on your friends list) has been included in 1 and 2.Now all that is needed to make the Metriod Prime series complete would be a wii remake of Metriod Prime Hunter on the ds.

...which is a good thing.There are SO many hours of entertainment in this game, so it's easily worth the expense.Last year I bought Metroid Prime - Corruption (number three in the series)just to have a look-see.2 hours later I was hooked, so I've been waiting eagerly to the arrival of the trillogy,and it was worth the wait.I admit there may be passages in the game that are a little slow, tending on boring. But hey! Even Legends of Zelda has those moments, and evey once in a while it's nice NOT to be attacked by plants, spirits, bugs, monsters, or poison, and just hop around from platform to platform. Graphics are good looking,artwork is really cool and detailed.All in all this is a game that gives you many many hours of good fun.

This is one of the best game bundles ever! All the Prime series on 1 disc and and Prime 1 and Echoes have been given Corruption's Wii Remote control system. Don't let this worry you as it handles exactly the same. It will take a minute or two to get used to the controls in Prime 1 and Echoes, then it's straight forward from there. Both Prime 1 and Echoes have received slight graphical updates, looking better than ever and Corruption is just like before. Credits make their return and can be used to unlock bonus content like concept art and some nice surprises that I won't spoil. Overall, the greatness of the Prime series is all here and deserves to be in any Metroid fan's collection.

This is perfect.Choose which game you want to play. If you have enough, go the menu and run another game without changing the disc!Explore the eerie worlds in widescreen, with improved room-loading speeds and controls.My friend pointed out the Metroid Prime graphics have not been revamped; I think the game looks just right; to revamp would mean a lot of programming and delay and there's already an Other M on the way.Share your accomplishments with fellow gamers via Wiiconnect24 and unlock the definitive collection of artwork, costume choices and worlds used int he production of all three games. A must for any Metroid fan.
