Hi, I got this with the Wii Remote and it was a great way to get another Wii Remote and learn the basic skills of the Wii Remote. There are 9 activities in Wii Play to help improve on your skills with the Wii Remote and here they are...Stage 1 (SHOOTING RANGE): In this game, you shoot at targets that appear one after another. This is good practise in aiming the Wii Remote.A or B to shoot. If you score a certain number of direct hits consecutively, you get a bonus. One person can play this game using two Wii Remotes at the same time.To do so, connect two Wii Remotes, and hold one in each hand.Two-player mode: When two players play, they compete for the highest score.Stage 2 (FIND MII): In this game, you have to find the specified Mii among lots of other Miis, within a limited period of time. This is good practise in aiming the Wii Remote. To select the specified Mii: Press A.Press B to check the goal.If you get it right, you will go to the next level, and the time remaining is extended slightly (10 SECONDS).If you get it wrong, the time remaining decreases slightly.Two-player mode: In Two-player mode, the winner is the player who finds the specified Mii first.Get the wrong Mii, and you lose points (5 SECONDS).When one of the players finds the right Mii, you both move on to the next level, but the time will not be extended and the winner will be the one with most points at the end.Stage 3 (TABLE TENNIS): In this game, the aim is to see how many times you can return the ball with the paddle. This is good practise in manipulating the Wii Remote fast and accurately.Press A to start the game and move the paddle by moving the Wii Remote.Two-player mode: Press the A Button to serve the ball and start the game. The winner is the first player to score 11 points.By moving the paddle to the left or the right as you hit the ball, you can change the ball's trajectory.Stage 4 (POSE MII): Match the Mii with the 3 types of silhouettes (IN BUBBLES).This allows you to become accustomed to the Wii Remote's twist controls.Change the Mii's pose by pressing the A or B button.Top: Standing Straight Pose.Middle: Ginger Bread Man Pose.Bottom: Egyptian Pose.A: Choose silhouette above you.B: Choose silhouette below you.Get points by tilting the Wii Remote to match the angle of the silhouette. If the silhouette falls to the bottom of the screen, this counts as one miss.Three misses and it's game over.Two-player mode: The player with the highest score at the end wins.Stage 5 (LASER HOCKEY): In this game, you use the paddle to shoot the puck into your opponent's goal. This is good practise in moving and twisting the Wii Remote.Use the Wii Remote to operate the paddle. When you twist the Wii Remote, the paddle tilts.By hitting the puck with the paddle at different angles, you can change the angle at which the puck bounces off it.If you press the A and B Buttons at the same time during the countdown at the start of the game, you will be able to change the shape of the paddle.Two-player mode: The winner is the first player to reach a score of 8 points.Stage 6 (BILLIARDS): In this game, you hit the balls to drop them into the pockets. This is good practise in moving the Wii Remote towards and away from the screen.1: Specify the direction in which you want to hit the ball.Point at the spot away from the ball.Holding down B, move from the Wii Remote. You can also aim using the + Control Pad.A: Display a bird's eye view of the table.2: Fix the position from which you are going to hit the ball.Point at the ball, and fix the position from which you are going to hit it.By hitting the ball below the centre, you can give it backspin, and by hitting it above the centre, you can give it topspin.3: Hit the ball.Pull the Wii Remote away from the screen, holding down B as you do so.Release B, moving the Wii Remote straight towards the screen as you do so.The idea is to pocket the balls in order starting with the one with the lowest number (icons are displayed). The fewer strokes you take to drop all the balls, the higher your score will be (ORDER OF BALLS: BRIGHT YELLOW; BLUE; RED; PURPLE; ORANGE; GREEN; DARK BROWN; BLACK AND FINALLY DIM YELLOW).Two-player mode: The player whose portrait is on the cue ball hits the ball. You proceed in order, starting with the ball with the lowest number, and the number on each ball you drop is added to your score. When you drop a ball in the pocket, you get to go next. The winner is the player with the highest score at the end.Note (FOULS): If you drop the cue ball into the pocket or hit the wrong ball by mistake, this is a foul, and you lose points. In Single-player mode you get to place the cue ball in the position of your choice next time.In Two-player mode, your opponent gets to do this.Stage 7 (FISHING): In this game, you catch fish, aiming to score as many points as you can. This is good practise in moving the Wii Remote vertically horizontally and back and forth.Use the Wii Remote to move the fishing rod. When you get a bit, swing the Wii Remote upward to hook out the fish.If a fish has been on the hook for a certain period of time without you hooking it up, it will get away.If you catch a "bonus fish", you gain double the number of points. When you get near the time limit, the time remaining will be displayed.Two-player mode: The winner is the player who has the highest total score. When both players get the same fish on the hook, the first to swing up their Wii Remote catches it.Stage 8 (CHARGE!): In this game, the aim is to make the cow run, and score goals while knocking down scarecrows. This is good practise in holding the Wii Remote horizontally in both hands and tilting it, or swinging it upward quickly. This game is played with the Wii Remote held horizontally so that the + Control Pad is on the left.Tilt the Wii Remote forward: Speed up.Tilt the Wii Remote to the left: Turn to the left.Raise the Wii Remote quickly: Jump.Tilt the Wii Remote to the right: Turn to the right.Tilt the Wii Remote towards you: Slow down.If you knock down a whole group of scarecrows, this is a perfect results and you earn more points (5 POINTS) and if you get a scarecrow that is running from side to side you earn 15 points.Two-player mode: The winner is the one who gets the higher score (PLAYER 1:WHITE & BLACK COW, PLAYER 2:DARK AND LIGHT BROWN COW).Stage 9 (MY FAVOURITE) (TANKS!): In this game, you use shells and mines to destroy your enemy (I like to kill my partner on easier levels for fun). This is good practise in pointing the Wii Remote while using the + Control Pad.Point at the screen and move the gun sights.A: Drop mines.+ Control Pad: Steer tank.B: Fire.If you are hit by a shell or engulfed in a mine explosion, this counts as a "miss:, and when you have no more tanks left, the game is over. You can fire up to 5 shells consecutivelyYou can place a maximum of 2 mines at once: mines are detonated when they are hit by a shell or when a tank gets close to them, or after a certain amount of time has elapsed or if you walk over it, these mines blow up parts of or if small all of strange looking walls on the screen.Two-player mode: The winner is the person who destroys the most computer-controlled tanks. If either player has any tanks left, they move on to the next mission. Here are the tanks that I have been to.Black tanks: Move and shoot shells.Brownish gold tanks: Do not move but have good aim and shoot shells.Dark greenish blue tanks: Fire rockets and move.Yellow tanks: Move fast and set mines and shoot shells.Red tanks: Move and shoot lots of shells consecutively.Green tanks (CAN BE VERY ANNOYING): Do not move and shoot rockets that bounce of many walls, I think 3 times it bounces on a wall.Purple tank: Move awfully fast and shoot shells... that's all I've seen, you might have seen more.Playing with the Nunchuk: If you connect the Nunchuk, you will be able to move tanks using the Control Stick (other operations remain the same and I find it easier with the nunchuk).Note: If two people are going to play using the Nunchuk, each player will need both a Wii Remote and a Nunchuk.Overall this is a great game and is fun for all ages and if you have a Nintendo Wii, you should get this game to learn the basic skills of the Wii Remote and to receive another Wii Remote.Thank you for taking the time to read my review.I would give this 8/10 as although it teaches you the basic skills of the Wii Remote, many people (including myself) would lose interest quite quickly.

Got this as wanted another controller so that the kids could play against each other on other games, and to be honest it worked out well by buying the Wii play and controller as you basically get another controller plus a set of games to play. (Must admit the tune is quite catchy and you may find yourself humming it).Would be a brilliant idea to have one game with say a sample of quite a few different ones on, then you could choose which one to then next buy, as sometimes when bought and tried you then end up not liking them or them not being quite what you thought originally. (Like a sample from Sonic, Spiderman etc..)I think it is really good especially if you have younger children as sometimes they get fed up playing a longer game, ours have Raving Rabbits but it does not get played as much as this. I honestly thought our kids would be on it all the time, but no, keep catching husband playing though, men and gadgets!I think that we all play as a family together on it doing the daily fitness test, so the Wii does bring some quality time playing together in the house, something that cateers for a wide age range without too many squabbles.Well worth the money as you get quite a few hours entertainment/experience/practice of using the controls,(but in chunks rather than having to finish another level, you know you always say, "when this level is done we will finish", but it doesn't always happen like that, and sooner or later a good few hours could have passed, be warned time does fly when playing. We have also found that sometimes you just want to spend say half an hour playing on it and you then don't get too hooked, especially near bedtime for youngsters (could say "yes, play the ice hockey game then bed"). You know what they say bribery works sometimes, not all the time though, but worth a try.The target game is great, as is the ice hockey and others (our kids like the fishing one the best). For all levels really, (beginners through to experienced players that just need to keep their hand in on the control front) and all ages, (nice to see the older and younger generations play together) a great thing to have about over the holiday period.Only problem is that as you have another controller, then another nuchuck will have to be purchased as some stage, more money !

For the price, I guess you can't go wrong - providing you treat the game as the 'extra' bit. But overall im fairly pleased, and if your looking to get an extra remote, then look no further, as you might as well get this collection of game with it for a small extra cost.Unfortunately, the only downside of the games is that while they do improve your handling of the WiiMote, the games don't handle realistically enough to make you want to keep playing. The newer version of Duck Hunt seems to be a game that you'll keep coming back to, but is best on a mulit player, as is the cow racing game (bizarre idea but there you go!). Ping Pong for example - great idea, but is let down by the fact that you only need a slight movement in your arm to make the paddle go all over the place, so you can play it with 2 hands and sitting down to keep it precise! Had the control been the same as Wii Tennis, it would have been a great game.Laser Hockey falls into this trap too, it feels quite awkard, though some practice may improve your game. Billiards is a nice game - some say a little boring, but I think its quite a good idea, and once you get the the hang of it, you'll really enjoy it! Fishing is a descent game, though pretty simple, and Find Mii is a nice addition, though rather than improve your WiiMote handling, looks at your vision. And if you get past Level 5, you've done very well!Tanks is a good idea, though won't keeped you hooked really, and another game expect you to place your Mii in lots of falling bubbles, while constantly changing the body shape to adapt to it.It won't keep you hooked, but you'll certainly want to go back to play the odd game some time, but the stand out games are probably Billiards (for being the most realistic, suprisngly) and Charge (For being the funnest).

Great "introduction" to the wii remote, and a good few hours of entertainment and laughter guaranteed with the addictive, genuinely funny, original games!Top marks for how the social aspect of the experience is carried out, proving that Nintendo (and in particular the Wii) is the master for social games. Choosing your Mii and competing with friends for points adds competitiveness to the game, enhancing the whole experience.A few words on a few games:DUCK HUNT: 21st century version of the classic NES game. Contains more objects flying all over the place. At one stage your mii is held as hostage! Very entertaining and raises the competitiveness in everyone! Simply aim and shoot, very straightforward.FISHING: Annoyingly entertaining! Renowned for sparking arguments between players, controls are complex, and results are mainly down to luck as random fish worth many points can appear at any given time anywhere. Personally, I prefer watching two friends play this game!!!COWS: The objective of this "cow race" is not to come first but to knock down moving scarecrows on the racetrack to obtain points. Avoiding the obstacles by jumping them to avoid getting slowed down is the funniest part of this game as the cow makes the silliest noise, which comes directly from the face of the remote! Genius! Everyone reacts to this noise in the same way: in stitches! Two more games worth mentioning are Billiards and Ping Pong. Billiards is easier to play and I personally love the retro, chilled-out background music!!!My mark is shown below, and it is that high because what you're really paying for is the remote, this game comes for free with it! I hope this review has been helpful :)10/10

Wii Play is basicaly a collection of mini-games to help give you the idea of all the things you can do with the remote. Some games are bad though. Here are some descriptions of them-Shooting Range: The first game. It is a duck hunt game where you just point the remote and push A or B.Find Mii: Not the best game but still is good. Find the correct Mii by using the description that pops up. It gets increasingly diffucult.Table Tennis: The worst game. A table tennis game using quircky movements to move the ball.Pose Mii: The wierdiest game. This game teaches you to tilt the remote as well as point. Try to get your Mii to fit in the bubble using the right pose and angle.Laser Hockey: The second worst.Like the table tennis game, this also uses quircky movements. It works just like air hockey.Billiards: Choose the angle, then hold down B, pull the remote back then release! The objective is to hit the ball with an arrow above it and try to get it into a hole.Fishing: Using the remote, dip it into the water and, when the time is right, flick the remote up to catch your fish!Charge!: My faveourite game. Turn your remote around so that it is horizontal and the buttons face you. Then when the screen says 'GO!' Tilt the remote forward and turn it left and right to steer. Quickly flick it up to jump. Try to bash as many scarecrows as you can to get points!Tanks: The last game. It is nunchug compatible. Try to shoot all the tanks by pointing and shooting and use the arrows to control the tank. Not really a great game, but since it comes with a free wii-mote i would suggest you buy it.

Wii play, priced at around £35 should be regarded as a definite purchase purely due to its value for money. In effect you are paying £5 for a game with an additional £30 (retail value) for a wii remote.Wii play itself is actualy rather fun, given its low price tag. I must admit my single player experience with the game has been nothing if dull. However, the mini games realy are entertaining, especialy the duck hunting.Games worth mentioning are Shooting, Laser Hockey and Tanks, although wiiplay makes you play through all the minigames in order to progressivly unlock them.Shooting does take a certain degree of skill (i am hopeless at it). You are given a number of stages in which to achieve high points in.You shoot at plates, targets, ducks, coke cans and even aliens. Overall, it stands out as the most entertaining minigame.Laser hockey definitly draws inspiration from pong, and it is rumoured to have a physics engine equivelant to doom 3. However, i found the controls slightly too jerky and jittery.Table Tennis was the major disapointment. The controls are also too sensitive and jittery. It becomes almost impossible to play shots at times, and it is worse when you are not playing the computer.Overall, Wiiplay is the ideal accompaniment too the Wii console, especialy as it comes with a free remote. After playing wiiplay, i found using the remote on other games far easier than i might have done without, and the multiplayer is second to none. The learning curve is around 5 minutes, which is ideal for non gamers or youngsters.

This is excellent value. It costs about £35 (at the moment), so if a remote is £30 then the game is only £5!!! (you can`t buy them separately though)PROS:*there`s 9 minigames and the game on its own would be (but you can`t buy the game on its own) £5. That means each minigame is only about 55p!!!*this is probably the game with the best value you can buy (at the moment), if you are looking to buy another remote control anyway.*it`s up to 2 players*it dosn`t require a nunchuk*you can use the nunchuk for "tanks" (1 of the minigames where you control a tank and there are lots of enemy tanks that come in levels that get harder and there are different colour enemy tanks that have different abilities and handicaps i.e can`t move, fast bullets, bullets can`t bounce, more inteligent, invisible, double-bounce-fast-bullets, rapid fire, can deploy mines, and not very rapid fire. Worth more then 55p, especialy on multiplayer), but you don`t have to use a nunchuk.*it keeps track of the score on multiplayer.CONS:*games aren`t very good on single player (worth more than 55p each though).*when I put: "worth more than 55p, especially on multiplayer" in the pros, the "especially on multiplayer" bit only applies if you say to the other player: "If we play tanks, we`re working together, that means no shooting each other and no getting shot on purpose when you`re ahead" and you both do it. I reccomend this as it makes the game more fun.*most other games are better (thats better games, not better value).

The object of Wii Play is to teach you how to use the Wii controller. It does this by taking you through a series of mini games and, once you have completed each one, they are all open to play whenever you like. Each uses a different "skill" of the controller.Value for money:Simple. Value is excellent. There are some great little games in this set, and as you get a Wii controller in the pack, with batteries, it is hard to see how it could be better value.Crummy games:The table tennis, the fishing, the racing and the pool games are all a bit, well, mediocre. I went through them to open each game up, but frankly I haven't been back since.Great games:The shooting gallery is utterly superb.Ridiculously simple and just so much fun in two player mode. the noise in my living room when I'm playing against my nine year old daughter is worthy of an apology to the neighbours. The laser hockey game is an Atari classic on steroids, enormously frustrating and yet almost too easy to go back to. The little tank game is so stupendously addictive that words can't describe. In fact, I'll have a quick go before bed.....Overall this is a pretty good set, and nothing takes more than a few minutes per game. It turns the Wii into something to play in the advert break! An extra controller adds great value to Wii itself. What more do you want for this price?

Got this game as part of the deal with the wii and must admit I wanted it because it comes with a free wiimote effectively making the game itself only 5 pounds and wiimotes are 30 each. The games themselves are great fun both as single player and multiplayer. While overall the game is short to complete in single player with each of the games only last 5 mins or so I defy anyone to not go back a play the cow raceing again and again. The games range from pool and air hockey right through to a tank wars game and the previously mentioned cow racing. My personal fav is the cow racing which has you holding the wiimote sideways tilting it forwards to make the cow run and left and right to make the cow turn.Wiiplay is and excellent game to get used to how the wiimote can be used and to start playing multiplayer.Overall the games are extremely fun thus warrenting the 5 stars and the game gets a 4 overall mainly because of the free Wiimote. While the game itself may only last you an hour or so in single palyer, the added bonus of a wiimote free means you are set up to play with friends and family and this and many other games.I would have to say it should be a definate buy for a wii because you get a Wiimote and since they are worth 30 pounds you are effictively getting the game for 5 pounds which I think is excellent value.

This game is the most fun I've had in years. Every single game is brilliant and it introduces all the aspects of the wii. All of them are multi-player and if you can round up 3 mates who have a controller each, you have simply the best multi-player experience ever. My personal favourite is Charge! a game where you have to control a bull/cow and knock over scarecrows. All of them are tremendous fun, but some are better than others. Shooting is great, and as the name suggests it has you shooting ducks, clay pigeons, targets and UFO's. Pool is fun and always works well in 2 player, but it takes a while to get used to. Laser hockey is tedious, but is so addictive it's untrue.Ping-pong is easy but the game sometimes randomly ends and says you've won. Tanks uses the nunchuck and is one where you always come back to beat your own high scores. Fishing is so brilliant and it is the best in multi-player. Pose me is rock hard and takes ages to master. Find mii is great in single player, not quite sure about multi-player though. That is all of them. Plus you get a controller with it all for £35; only £5 more than a remote on it's own. This is a great game and it is a bargain. Not as good as wii sports mind. I want wii play 2! Just think more games and it could come with an new extension perhaps? Wait and see.

Let's be honest, most people purchased this for the extra wii remote and some bonus games. There are 9 games each designed specifically to help you learn how to use the wii remote without all that tedious "aim here", "press this now", "press that now" rubbish that gets extremely boring.Shooting Range; Find Mii; Table Tennis; Pose Mii; Laser Hockey (it's just table hockey with a flash name); billiards; fishing; charge cow racing; and tanks. The games are all multiplayer (up to 4 people can play - providing they have a wii remote) and have been the cause of a great deal of laughter when played by the family. The trouble is the games can become addictive. Games such as tanks, shooting range, fishing and charge (the cow racing game) have become my personal favourites. There is a desire to beat the last score in the shooting gallery, to destroy the tanks before they destroy you, to hit all the scarecrows on the race track, to catch all the fish, etc.As you get better at each of the games you are also awarded medals, bronze silver and gold.It is a good fun selection of games that you can play with all (willing) members of the family regardless of age and it achieves the goal of teaching you how to control and use the wii remote.

I purchased Wii Play mainly for the extra controller, but there is enough fun content in the Wii Play game collection to warrant the purchase.Wii Play is a collection of mini-games; all are fun but some are better than others. My favourite by far is Tanks. Tanks rocks. From a birds-eye-view, take control of a tiny tank (or two player with two tiny tanks) and shoot the enemy tanks. Only 20 levels but very hard. Me and a friend love it and spend hours on it and still have not completed the 20 levels in two player co-op. Actually it is possible to be competitive and shoot your friend's tank, but we seemed to have naturally assumed a co-operative role.Very challenging little game but sweet presentation (funny trumpet sounds when you win and no blood or explosions) and lots of fun.A very simple but perfectly exectued game. I have even emailed Nintendo asking them to make a fully fledged Tanks game!Tanks is the only mini-game on Wii Play that requires the Wii Nunchuk add-on.The other games are fun. Standouts include a Mii game where you have to spot your Miis in various crowded situations, an air hockey game and a Duck Hunt style shooting game.Worth the extra £££ if you are after an extra Wii Remote to purchase Wii Play.

This is effectively a very budget game considering how much the `wii-stick' would cost separately.I watched my missus run through each of the nine games, and whilst each game acted as a tutorial in the art of `Wii-stick' waggling, I thought the games looked okay - but nothing spectacular. Infact, I though some looked a bit poor. But when I had a go at them I realised how great they really are! Shooting Range is a modern adaptation of Duck Hunt, so the concept is simple, but the game is addictive. And the rest of the games follow suit - basic concepts, most being quite familiar from past games, but very playable. My favourite game is Tanks - a brilliant little game in which you manoeuvre a littletank around an arena to try blow up the opposing tanks. In a nutshell: The graphics are good but not mind blowing, but this is an example of what Nintendo are best at - bringing out games which might not be as graphically mind blowing as many others, but are highly addictive - and with the two player modes a whole new dimension of competitiveness is added! The Cow Racing game (although not the best racing game ever) has definitely wetted my appetite for Mario Kart Wii when it comes out! Excellent value for money.

Like the other reviewers have said, this is essentially a five-pound extended demo of what the Wii is capable of, and that works out at about 56p each. A reviewer below excellently analysed the games so there's no need for me to go over them all again.I got this mainly out of curiosity having loved the addictive DS mini-games on the Mario titles and also because I needed a second controller, and no harm was done. Being able to play with your Mii caricatures is good, and the spotting game especially reminds me of Nintendo's knack to innovate around the simplest things. However, I think the game itself could be a lot better if overall high scores were saved; not just personal bests. Also, why Nintendo chose to use a scoring system at all in billiards is strange - I appreciate they never actually labelled it 'pool' and were probably using it for the sake of the personal high scores, but as a two player game especially, it would be a lot more fun using the regular 8 or 9-ball rules of pool. Oh well - I guess it was just a demo after all.And you can't complain with the controller - five stars all the way; it even has batteries included.Having an extra Wii controller is essential!

So far the main good point that people have reviewed about this game seems to be that you get an extra remote, that's obviously good and is actually one of the reasons my boyfriend brought it for me. However, I also find most of the games extremely good fun! There are 9 games altogether and I love shooting range, find mii, table tennis, pose mii, laser hockey (just like air hockey that you play in arcades) and charge. Its great playing in 2 player mode and on your own is a great way to get better and learn how to win. The only games I don't really like are billiards because I'm rubbish at it, lol, and fishing because I find it hard to control the rod, it always seems to come out of the water and if you move it too much, even when you don't think you're moving it too much, it shoots over to the opposite side of the pond. Apart from these, it's a great set of games to get you used to controlling the remote and getting used to the wii in general. If you're new to the wii I definitely recommend this as being one of the 1st games you try out (along with wii sports), saying that I'd recommend it even if you've had your wii for ages and just fancy a collection of fun games to play on it.
