Unlike many of the other reviewers, being retired and late to the game, I hadn’t previous played any of these titles, which I believe have been remade and enhanced but follow their original format quite closely. Unable to give a like for like comparison on these remakes my review is purely as a newcomer to these titles. This box set of MAFIA arrived in a nice fold out case with all three titles stored safely in push on disc holders with relevant artwork adorning the outer folder.MAFIA_1:I was incredibly impressed with the first of the titles from the outset and although some of the character movement was a touch wooden, in general, the animation was, in my eyes, superb.I thoroughly enjoyed the storyline and the many separate challenges, some of which were quite daunting to a newbie like me. If you like car chases, especially of the police variety, then this game has it in bucket loads, well it does if you don’t behave yourself. Whether you are in a chase or simply driving to a destination, a route map can be displayed at the touch of a button or if you prefer, signposts will appear on the street guiding you to your intended destination. One of the challenges in particular, (of which I could find no way of escaping/skipping), is the three lap racing track simulation in competition with 16 other cars. You need to win this to progress and for me personally it took the best part of two playing sessions to finally win through and, I’m glad to say, kept me suitably gripped throughout. The cut scenes kept me totally impressed throughout this great game and it was often a relief to see them appear just as you think you might have blown whatever mission you are on.All in all I was totally impressed and immersed in the MAFIA_1 storyline and the animation/graphics were, in my eyes, superb. If this had been a stand-alone product I believe I might have started afresh and cranked the difficulty level up, however, coming as it did as part of a box set, I decided to move on to MAFIA_2 and it is here my enjoyment ended. Not a lot to say here other than, after installing the Mafia_2 game, everything seemed fine but quite quickly the graphics started to break up then resolve themselves then break up again. It was extremely unpleasant on the eyes but finally settled down again and I carried on believing it to be a power surge or whatever. However, moments later during a car chase, the graphics became so corrupted it was no longer possible to go forward. After shutting my whole system down, leaving it for a couple of minutes then restarting, I found to my immense let down the same graphic disruption I encountered before. I would like to think it was just my copy, it can happen I suppose but I didn’t want to risk waiting on a replacement game only to go through the same disappointment. It’s such a shame because if Mafia two or three were anything near as enjoyable as the original I had just completed it would have been brilliant. Maybe once I’m over the disappointment I’ll re-order, until then my return is on its way to Amazon. My Five star ranking is for MAFIA_1 only.

MAFIA 1*********I am very impressed how they have brought Mafia One up to next gen, it really does look good. If people want to compare it to GTA then it is going to lose but if you want an alternative to GTA then this is it. I do like the story setting. The Graphics are very good. Gameplay is a little chunky sometimes. There are different settings, like being able to play simulation or not. By doing that the police will chase you if you speed.I found the car race hard and with no option to skip (unlike GTA) it felt good when i did win.Just playing Mafia 1, will add once i progress. Completed Mafia 1, really enjoyed it. The cut scenes are very well done. Go to YouTube and watch the orchestra play the opening scene,it makes you think how much work goes into a game. Very good... onto Mafia 2MAFIA 2*********First impressions of Mafia 2... it is not a remake like the first one is. Story is good and it is more of the same in a different setting. There is a lot of swearing but also a lot of humour. With Mafia 1 & 2 there is a good variation of missions and you see the similarities with GTA 5, but Mafia 1 (2002) and Mafia 2 (2010), so did GTA (2013) copy ideas from Mafia? Mafia 2 has some great humour, the funeral mission, the mission where a drunk Joe is singing along to a song on the radio, but gets the words wrong! Brilliant stuff that people may not even notice. Completed Mafia 2 and enjoyed it overall, I think the city is authentic. Sure there are minor glitches but nothing that spoils the game. It comes with 3 additional add ons which add to the story. Apparently the 3rd one alone has 8 hours of gameplay, so you are getting a lot of game for your money.MAFIA 3**********The thing that strikes out about Mafia 3 is the songs, the 60s was a great era for music. Listening to Paint it Black by The Stones makes you want to just drive around rather than doing missions! Then Dance of the Hours by Beethoven Ben, never heard it before but what a nice piece of music! The game is similar to the others except as you progress more missions open on the map and you can choose which ones you do. It could be me but I find most of the fight missions to be darker, lower quality graphics? If you like a story and a 3rd person shooter then this is that. A good story based on revenge. I think the city is created well in the 3 games. The cops are easy to shake off the the 3rd game as they were in the first two. Mafia 3 is a fair bit bigger than the other two (without considering the extra content) so you get a lot of gameplay for your money. Each game have the odd mission is hard, more so in Mafia 3 but stick at it as they are all beatable. I did it !

I bought this because I had nowt else to play and it was good value for money especially when the DLC was included. I started in reverse and played Mafia 3 first. As a GTA fan this ticked a lot of boxes in its open world format and I got a hell of a lot of game play that kept me busy for several months. The story lines I enjoyed and I liked the main character Lincoln, there is a lot of social history since it is based in 1968 in a fictional southern city of the US, so there is the story of racism threaded throughout the stories. The graphics are pretty good but to say the game is without bugs would be not true but to be fair they did not adversely spoil gameplay. The biggest bugs were crashing to the Xbox home screen whilst playing some levels. Some people were sniffy when the game came out saying it was the worst of the trilogy which I found as complete bull when I played the trilogy from 3 to 1. Mafia 3 is brilliant.Moving on to Mafia 2 well this was just "meh!". I found the gameplay quite dull, the graphics were quite flat to be honest and felt the world was non immersive. The stories were not as good as Mafia 3 and I could not relate to the characters in the game. Also the linear game is short in play, one week and I was finished and the DLC was not great either, played it for 30 minutes got bored and had enough. Its OK if you have nothing else to play but not memorable.Mafia 1 remastered was way better then 2 but I found some of the game play a bit stiff. The graphics were amazing and the stories better then 2 but sadly the game like 2 is short lived because it is not open world and very linear. Like 2 I finished the game in about a week.If you like open world games like GTA or RD2 then this is worth a go. I hope that a Mafia 4 is on the cards soon. Recommended!!!

I will start with mafia 1. Mafia 1 is a remake of a game done on ps2 from illusion softworks. Now I had never played the first game ever. So I was keen to get my hands on this one. Well it was amazing. Love the shooting sequences and story was brilliant. Cars are lovely and look realistic. Weapons are a bit limited but are very nicely animated and crisp and clear and very detailed. Tommy and the cast of characters look fantastic. Especially when you see Don salieri smoking a cigar its very realistic and very nice facial animations. I think the Only thing I was a bit disappointed with was the lack of ability to change the costumes in the main game. If they had added a wardrobe in game then It would be absolutely flawless. But there is a freedrive mode where you can drive any car unlocked and dress in any costume. Would of been better if they added the wardrobe in game though. OK so mafia 2 is my absolute favorite. I played mafia 2 and it has lag issues and also crashes from time to time which is a bit disappointing, this is a remaster of the 3 but I kind of wished they did a remake now as the game has issues and doesn't work Properly also has alot of bugs in game. I got stuck and had to restart the game as vito was stuck in between two bins and wouldn't get out of them. Now mafia 3 also has some bugs present but nothing as gamebreaking as mafia 2. It's a shame because all 3 games are fantastic. But 2 needs some work to be playable and able to play without issues. I had to send my copy back due to the game being Faulty but if you like mafia games and sandbox then these are the games for you. 3 games for a quality price. But wait until mafia 2 gets some fixes.

I have been a massive Mafia fan for years. Unfortunately I never had the chance to play the original first Mafia game so when I heard about this trilogy I just had to get it.And I was not disappointed, the games come in a lovely case which opens out to three separate discs.Mafia - My first play through ever was such a pleasure, from what I gather the graphics have been totally rebuilt from the ground up and the world actually looks beautiful. The gameplay is great and the story and missions were really immersive.Mafia II - As one of my all time favourite games for a while I was so looking forward to seeing it be remastered. Unfortunately there is not much difference imo from the original Xbox 360 versions and I spotted a few bugs whilst playing. However playing it again on my Xbox one reminded me what an astoundingly great game Mafia 2 is. Seriously 10/10Mafia III - Once again no difference to the regular Mafia 3, and unfortunately this game is not on par to the others.Overall despite Mafia 2 &3 not being changed much at all, I see those as free extras coming with the remaster version of the first game and so we’ll worth the price. Especially as you get all DLCs included. An excellent bundle of games which don’t get enough credit

Pre ordered this game.It came well packaged and prompt delivery.Very good graphics and it nice to play all 3 Mafia games on the PS4.There is a few things I wasn't happy aboutOn Mafia 2 there was a glitch and had to turn the game off and re load it and on Mafia 3 there were more than one glitch and each time I had to turn the game off and re open and reload the game up which got annoying after a while. Not sure why that happened as I already had Mafia 3 on PS4 before this trilogy was made and on my original PS4 game there were hardly any glitches. The first Mafia game had no glitches which was good.Just something to be aware of if you buy this trilogy.Hopefully they can resolve this with an Update.Hence why I gave it 4 stars.

3 games, 3 discs. This is the mafia trilogy and its gameplay, acting and stories are excellent, but obviously, very dark.Mafia 1 is a total remake, Mafia 2 a remaster, Mafia 3 the retail release from a few years back. Mafia 3 is the only one I've completed ( when it first came out, played through twice) a fine, fine game.My first play through of Mafia 1 is a revelation in game design. The care that has geen put into this is just phenomenonal.Mafia 2 I've played on its original release, and it was good then, so I'll assume the remaster will be the same. These games have far more character than many other open world games out there. Go and play them.I bought the Xbox one version of this trilogy.

It puts all three of the mafia games together.Mafia:Definitive Edition-The game looks amazing but its not out yet sadly.Mafia II:Definitive Edition-The classic adventure of Vito Scaletta is remastered, its not the worst remaster ever but its not the greatest, more graphical gliches than the original but good all the same.Mafia III:Definitive Edition-Its the same game as before but it is better than it was on launch.*Note that except for Mafia 1,all games have their DLC free of charge, but to get Mafia 1 pre order bonuses like exclusive cars, motorcycles, weapons, and outfits you have to either pre-order the game or buy this trilogy bundle*

Still problems with Mafia 2 but they have fixed the main ones The clothes in your wardrobe disappear the military uniform was there when I arrived at the characters mothers Then in the morning it was gone I know you can wear it from the 360 version and my first playthrough on this version Clothes disappear you never know which ones it will be fix it hanger 17 Have amended my score now they have fixed some of it Mafia 3 is untouched just improved resolution Mafia 1 is good but not as good as Mafia 2 which is my favourite and the two lead characters Vito and Joe are brilliant

Fantastic value. Worth the price for the fantastic remake of Mafia 1 alone, which for my money is the star of the show. Challenging gameplay framed in a mature and thought provoking story. It doesn't stop there though. The excellent Mafia 2 and the unfairly lambasted (imho) Mafia 3, with all DLC for both games surely makes this bargain of the year. Recommended if you've got an itch to revisit these games, or if you're a fan of films like The Godfather, Goodfellas, etc and like a game with a more sophisticated subtext than most.

A really good price for 3 really good games. I enjoyed them the first time around & to see them updated is even better. The games have been completely rebuilt from the ground up, Mafia: Definitive Edition features excellent performances from a new cast, really solid driving model, and city that oozes the 1930s atmosphere. The game is set with a third-person combat set up too. This is a successful rejuvenation of the series & really is worth every penny for me.

This is an excellent series of games. The storylines and voice acting are genuinely amongst the best you will experience in any modern game. As a result all three Mafia games will keep you gripped from start to finish. Missions are all solid and gameplay keeps getting better with each game. These really are fine examples of how to create immersive and enjoyable video games. Now they have been remastered I can recommend them unreservedly.

Couldn't wait to play Mafia 1 again can remember first time played it yeas ago absolutely loved it,however the remastered edition has been changed in several areas an slight adjustments on missions, decent play,Mafia 2 just started and couple missions in glitched out on bringing on covering Henry an Joe mission an sound seems weird and extra loud voice over or sumet

Mafia - one my all time favourite games, having played the original to death back in the early 2000's. Complete rebuild.Mafia 2 - Vito a great character. but alas Mafia 2 is not finished. glitched and janky as all hell. I finished it, but mostly because of the writing and Vito's rise and fall.Mafia 3 a much better game than when it was released.
