Game arrived sooner than expected. Fully packaged n sealed. You may notice some copies more expensive than others, always buy cheaper because the DLC n updates are all free... Doesn't make a difference. Now about this game... No game in years has had me hooked for more than 10hrs in one sitting. There is so much content in this game I can't even describe it fully. The game is so vast... You won't even believe it.First off, the game should be viewed as an exploration, survival open world or world's I should say. There is no loading screens in the game, you have to mine materials for certain purposes... To fix your ship, weapons or to gather in order to sell. You can customize your character once you reach a space station n buy or upgrade your own ship or new ships...Along with weaons upgrades (which isn't the games main focus)Whatever your experience is on one planet or star system, will not be the same throughout the whole game... It is an absolute impossibility to visit every planet in this game, it will take 585 billion years to visit each for 1second. So if you start off on barren boring planets at the beginning... It won't always be that way.I tried catching this game out because I couldn't believe that these world's were completely open to us, so after leaving a space station with a distress signal coming from a planet... I decided to enter the planet on the opposite side, was entering the atmosphere... Which acts as the planets loading screen but you're not stuck, you can dip in n out n the game never pauses or delays... So I entered through the atmosphere, saw the marker for the distress signal n the ETA on the location at my current speed was 10hrs away, our time to get there... One hr using boosters, I wanted to catch the game out to see if we actually arrive with quests close to us, no matter how n where we arrive... it's not the case, if you arrive 1,000 KM away, you have to travel 1,000km or fly out into space, loop round in drop back in closer to the target... Just don't run out of thruster fuel with no uranium which is needed to take off, 1000s of KMs for anywhere because you will have to walk to a trading Post, which you will have to find on your own without a trading Post scanner upgrade on your ship n buy some thruster fuel... You find these places by seeing other space craft circling or flying to n from the trading Post landing pads... It happened to me but you will die if the planet is toxic or radio active, your life support will run out. lolTalking with aliens will seem lack luster n very simplicitic. The weapons are basic but as stated, it's obviously not the games main focus. The environments if hostile, will have you dying or close to dying if you don't pay attention, which is why you mine oxygen or sodium to keep your suits life support full n shield.Careful going down caves, some can go on for what seems miles, I only say this as one cave I went in, I was in for over an hour... Gathered over 1 million units worth of resources n was able to get a new ship on my first space station visit but I had space pirates trying to extort me for money n kill me when I refused... Some of these ships cost up to 60 odd million n theres also another currency in game which merchants only use n is harder to obtain, so it's not like you get rich easy because things are expensive... Unless you mine, farm resources n build your finances quick that way. There is combat but it's obvious that isn't the games purpose but it's there n I believe they are planning on updating the combat in order to appeal to player demands. You will be scanning animals n plants for data which also gets you money... Then taking n mining each in order to refuel your ship, repair your ship, to create an upgrade that you have to convert using a little converter that looks like a wee cooking processor but you have to get fuel for that to work n wait as each material is broken down, converted n then you apply it.There is multiplayer but for some reason, I'm not entirely sure if I'm online with others, on my Xbox I have no join game option but I'm pretty sure it was there when I first started the game. Now the likelihood of meeting someone is slim unless it's someone in your friends list but it can happen. I've seen it on YouTube.Theres an entire online galactic empire on a certain star system that has hundreds of player built bases on each planet n they are one big group... They are currently being attacked by outsiders but one outsider who built an army, took 3 planets off them but was defeated due to their numbers lolSo there is an online presence but it's an absolute nightmare to find them, it's well documented on YouTube. Which is why the calls for better combat, enemies n cities etc be added. This is a very long review n may have gone off track but I just wanted to give the game the justice it deserves, it got a lot of hate at the beginning... Which it deserved but it's entirely different now n well worth it.Overall id give it a 9, keep in mind I'm only 30 hours in over 2 days, only been on 2 planets so far, named n uploaded my planet discoveries which others will see, visit n know who was the first person there... Even visit my bases if they find it or if I build them. Base building is a big trend in this game. There is a campaign that's 30 hours long I believe which I haven't started... I just see the mass potential it has n is heading towards. Better enemies, combat, fractions, camps, cities, nomadic tribes, online servers for more players to be on at once without having to be friends n it would then be the best space game on console.Would definitely recommend... Just don't go in expecting lots of action, guns blazing because you're not going to get that... Unless you find the online galactic hub... Which is like a civilization lolIt's basically interstellar n the Martian in a video game.

In some ways you could call this “No Man’s Sky 2”, if you compare it with its dismal state at release 2 years ago. So many expected features were not in it. But over the past 2 years there were several large updates that started to bring this game up to its expected and intended state. Now with the release of this “NEXT” update, which also saw the release on XBox (with all the released updates included), it is far far better.Having played it on PS4 before and enjoying it, but becoming quite jaded with its lack of content, so confident was I that this latest update would make this game so much more, I pre-ordered it via XBox Store (hence why this does not show as a verified purchase).I was not disappointed. This game is so much better now. The XBox1X graphics are amazing, and the draw distance is far better now. Ringed planets, base building, surface vehicles, many more missions, better storyline, better and more intelligent creature and scenery procedural generation, more intuitive HUD and handling, clouds in the sky (which are not too great at the moment, but HG have said they plan to update the cloud graphics), and, of course, the long awaited Mulitplayer, makes this game a vast improvement over its initial release. The Mulitplayer comes in two varieties: 1) You play online without joining a group or party, but up to 3 other random players COULD join at any time (note - “could”, not “WILL” - you may not see anybody, and considering the huge number of planets (16 quintillion+), the chances of seeing anybody is slim.) 2) Join a random party or a party of online friends. Any other real players you see who are not in your group will appear as light orbs - up to 16 I believe. However, you can turn off the network feature which means you’ll play in true “solo player” mode. The 4K XB1X grahics (on a 4K TV) are really nice to look at, and even on quality mode the XB1X handles the game like a boss. One thing about the “X.O suit pre-order bonus: A lot of people are saying that cannot find it once they play the game. Myself included. However, I have found how to work around the no show. What should happen is that once you get to a station (assuming you have redeemed the pre-order goodies - done via the in-game Generasl Settings option), you visit an Appearance Modifier platform at a space station, where you can modify not only your space suit, but your race too. Under the “Anomaly” race you should see 12 choices under the HELMET option, but it only shows 11. The X.O suit should be number 12. So, to get it to show, save your game and return to the start splash screen. Start a new game, re-redeem your pre-order bonuses, and save as soon as you can. Then close that game down and relaunch your main save. You should now see the XO suit at the Appearance Modifier platform. If you don’t see it, relaunch the new save, play the game until you can get to a station, go to an Appearance Modifier, see the XO suit (remember, Anomaly race, helmet option number 12), save the game and relaunch your main save. You will see it available then.Hope this helps.

If you have heard of No Man's Sky before, you have probably heard of the terrible launch it had, they developers telling outright lies and the poor performance. Do your self a favour and forget all that.No Man's Sky Next is a launch of No Man's Sky with all of the updates and patches etc that have been released over the last year or so. Included in this is a engine upgrade for the graphics, way more content, regular patches to fix the issues that crop up and most of all...actual multiplayer! You start your space life crashing onto a planet and learning the early ropes of how to mine for materials, which you then plug into various part of your Exosuit, namely life support and you shield that protect you from all that nasty cold/poison and heat.Learning what you need to mine for what you want to do is half the battle, Aiding you in this venture is a portable scanner (which you also have to repair) which helps you locate slightly more rare materials. As you slowly figure out what is going on, you get to a crashed ship and now you learn how to mine for more materials and also how you turn those materials into better ones, in order to fix your ship. Again, the game does a good job of telling you what you need, since that will come in handy down the line for other ships. Once repaired, its off to space! and the cycle begins. Head to space, find weird and wonderful planets, harvest their goodies, find space-stations to trade at, see cool spaceships you cann afford, make more lift-off fuel because you have run out agasin (Seriously, make lots of this when you get the time and materials)Is the game perfect? Nope. it can still feel a little aimless and you planet hop all over the place but the game does direction you along your story path at regular intervals, so you never really feel abandoned. If you want to get out there and see what is going on, you are free to. Just remember that flying, mining, running, mining, flying, mining are you almost constant companions in your space adventure. If you want a super chill, often spectacular, sometimes a little dry space romp through randomised (and funny looking) planets, No Man's Sky is for you. If you want high octane shooting and constant explosions, maybe pick something else.

So far it’s just mining resources over and over again. Go to a new place, mine more resources, upgrade stuff. And repeat. Ad infinitum. I’ll persevere a bit and hope it improves. That is, if I ever get to play the damned thing... three update required already this week. At 2 or 3gb each over a slow connection, that ain’t fun. I wonder what this latest update will bring. More mining perhaps? More planets that look the same as the last one, but a different colour? Another identical space station with the same grumpy aliens? Probably. I quite like the hugeness of it all though. And the fact that I’m still playing and still waiting for updates to download says something I guess. Those f’ing sentinels though...EDIT - Ok, now I've been playing a few more weeks I've given it an extra star. It's still heavy on the resource mining, but once you get a bit further into the game and get a freighter and some frigates to do expeditions etc, and once you're warping around different star systems, things get a bit more interesting. In fact I really like the game now. I'm only not giving 5 stars because it's pretty buggy still... for instance, I wasn't able to map any planets up until yesterday's update (another 5.8GB... grrr!), and I couldn't repair my frigates. However, that was all fixed in the update, so hats off to the developers for dealing with it. All in all I now think it's a great game for anyone who likes the idea of flying round space discovering stuff. Be prepared to invest hours of time and staying up till 3am just to get the last ingredient for that new upgrade though :)

Incredible game! Its a nice cross between Astroneer/Subnautica and Elite dangerous, if you have not played any of these I recommend you go and play them all, because they are some of the best games going.I have been waiting for this to come out on the Xbox for some time and its fantastic. We are lucky as the the game has been massively updated with the new NEXT update. So it feels more finished and polished than the game the PS4 and PC players have been playing. This game is far to big to even contemplate and I have only been paying for a few hours, in 4K HDR on the Xbox One X the game is stunning and the performance is also fantastic.Considering a small game studio with only 20 odd guys have created this game is also remarkable.I didn't purchase this on amazon as I wanted the digital version, so I purchased it from the Microsoft Store. What people need to understand is that this is not just a space game, yes you can go into space you can fly to different planets, even warp to different systems. The point is you can play it how you like, you can stay on one planet, mine, research, build a base, farm crops, even trade remotely.Or if you prefer you can buy a fleet of ships and trade between space stations, buy a fighter and attack other ships for profit, become a space pirate, or just explore each and every one of the billions of planets at your leisure. There's far to much in this game to comment on, so get out there and explore!!

I bought this for my little brother as a present. I've even had a go of it myself and it's a really fun game! Explore planets, galaxies, moons, and space! Fun little things that come along with it, such as random attacks from space pirates whilst free roaming. It also teaches children as well as adults science, such as needing to find Carbon, Sodium, Tritium, etc in order to fuel and craft things. If there are any cons, I would personally say the beginning bit was a bit tricky. But it's definitely a fun game! You can also choose your race as well as your outfit, colour etc. (But you have to finish the beginning part first) You can name your planets, moons (once discovered)and spaceship and also craft new weapons. Some planets we came across are really cold such as -60 Celsius, or really hot like 73 Celsius, so it's wise to find a good planet to set up base on that's the right temperature. There is also a creative mode, as such games like Minecraft have, where you can spawn on a planet and you have unlimited amount of materials etc. There are also 3 difficulties I think. There's normal, survival and then something called Permadeath, which I think is if you die, you literally lose everything and have to start again lol. Anyway, enough said, it's a fun game! :) Hope this helped some people

Having played Elite and Elite 2 back in the day and lost many night to them I was looking for a up to date version, No Man's Sky has the same general sandbox approach there are story lines which you can follow or not, and I have for a bit. Progressing along the story lines basically involves exploring find a person / mine resources / attack a depot / attack sentinels / attack pirates and repeat. There are multiple ships to buy, ship, space suite and tool upgrades to buy. There is a lot to do and explore, it just feels a bit empty and soulless as a game maybe it's the 3rd person view which I personally dislike, or the emptiness of the NPC,it's a lovingly crafted universe which somehow feels devoid of novelty and surprises.I've played a far bit on both the PC and xbox one and the game play is comparable on both, I probably prefer the xbox for no other reason than the xbox control is better than my PC one. This is a game I really wanted to love, and I do enjoy it but it's just lacking that extra something to push it into a killer game.

Seriously well updated version of no mans sky. If you like it already, you'll like it now.A hint. This time around follow the hints the game throws at you, and you'll learn every system needed to proceed deep into the game, ignore these hint/prompts at your peril as if you don't follow them , you will not be able to proceed tobuild and use necessary systems.A point of view. I've always though the music in this was a missed opportunity, often pointlessly ambient, non thematic and frankly, a tad dull.If you like the "wandering around" music from games like Oblivion and Skyrim be prepared for huge disappointment, the music in NMS is just not very good or interesting. The skybox on this version of the game is astoundingly poor, and it would look old and dated on original xbox or playstation 2, it is unacceptably poor for the current gen.Other than that, when you're in the right frame of mind, this game can be absorbing and highly entertaining.

Why did I wait so long? Issues at launch and possibly a better game now with the new additions for new players. A game solely based on exploration and creativity for an immersive journey. Build a base, analyse, research technologies, explore an incomprehensible vast Universe, breed Animals, Trade and Salvage, Farm, Mine, Learn to equip, prepare to Survive, interact in Community Missions. This was kind of what I wanted from Mass Effect- at least controlling more journeys from point to point. NMS does it all through groundbreaking tech and procedural generation. Those things I listed are just the start of the unraveling- still slightly noob like after 150hrs of gameplay- once you break out of the introductory Galaxy you embark on an even more complex role, one of Ancient Civilisations, Living Ships, Black Holes and Portals, 4th Dimensions. Buckle Up.

Never owned a PS4 or a PC good enough to run the game but was always curious as to what the game was all about. I got it on Xbox Store and have to say that I’m impressed. I’m a really hard gamer to please when it comes to games, I’m incredibly picky as to how it plays and if something isn’t in the game then it frustrates me and I end up never touching it again! But NMS was an experience I’ve never had before, unique and surprising. Initially, I had no idea how to play the game and almost gave up but decided to persevere through and got into my fixed spaceship and flew out of the atmosphere. I was amazed, no loading screens, all seamless and gorgeous graphics!I’m now a trader and make a tonne of money buying and selling which I can then use to upgrade my ship!I’m loving this game and I am looking forward to what’s coming!Worth a buy!

I love this game it will keep me occupied for years, it is a very complex grinding space exploration, ship repairing, base building kind of game. The controls can be a bit fiddly as there are a lot of functions to fit in. It does have the odd bug here and there as do most games after a huge update but they are being sorted reasonably quickly. As stated this is a relaxing game so don't get it if you are looking for fast paced all guns blazing adventure type games, there are the odd space battle or pirate attacks but they aren't fast paced as trying to turn a spaceship is a bit like moving a canal barge ;) You can play in single player or multiplayer mode in normal and survival (not sure if permadeath is still there)but with 5 game slots to use there is lots to do. Anyway back to playing for me :D

Wonderful, unique and original game. Since the latest updates (which are free), there has been absolutely loads of content and features added to this game and the developers are adding free updates regularly.I've played for 80 hours now and have barely scratched the surface - you can choose to follow the story or do your own thing and there is always something new to explore.TIP: Take your time to get to know the mechanics of the gameplay and don't rush. It can seem a bit daunting at first but there is a lovely game here ready for you to explore. There's lots of help online if you get lost and there's even a 'creative' mode you can play which is a lot more easy going where all items are free and you can't really die or 'lose'.Ignore the pre-2018 update reviews and enjoy!

If you like your games open-ended then this if defo for you, graphics aren't amazing..but there is enough to do other than to be bothered about small details like that....crafting is an major part of the game...very much like Minecraft is...this game is 20% exploration 80% crafting...there is of course some side missions and there is always the threat of a dogfight or 2 in space...and yes ...the game has flaws..bit samey some of the planets..and pop up is anoying...but hey...look beyond those and its a brill sci fi game...think of it a bit like freelancer...but with crafting...and if you like your games with infinite scope...then its a must buy

I purchased NMS back in 2016 on release for PC and although the game received negative press, I enjoyed it and spent more hours on this game than any other that year. Like many others however, I grew tired of the repetitive tasks and lack of interaction with other players. I moved away from PC gaming to XBONE and was excited to see NMS launching in 2018. Wow, what a difference 2 years of work makes. This game is now next level and could be considered game of the decade alongside Zelda BotW. It is not for everyone but I am excited by this game every time I play it and can’t wait to see the games further evolution over the next few years.

If you like films like The Martian, this is the game for you. Unlike Elite Dangerous there are no quests that have to be completed in 24 hours. I've encountered a few dinosaurs made of Play-Doh like the ones in the YouTube videos when the game was released in 2016, so it's still not perfect, but nothing in life is.In addition to odd graphical and AI imperfections, there is one thing that doesn't seem right with the game design in that you have a large universe to explore, but you are being prodded along an RPG path to go to the next point all the time. Overall, it's still well worth buying and is going to take up hours of game play.
