I've been playing the Forza games for years and both Horizon and Motorpsort. I liked the look of Horizon 4 from the E3 trailer and so much so that I decided I wanted it at that point although the setting of Britain also hooked me.There's plenty to do as per usual in Forza titles with various races including dirt, street, drag and others. These do get quite samey despite the glut of cars in the game as quite a few are recycled from older games. The standouts are the showcase events and there are also story related races featuring from other prominent video games down the years which is cool. One of the main additions are the new seasons which are actually more than a gimmick and do make a difference purely beyond the visuals.Certain events or barn finds are only available during certain seasons and the differences graphically really do look sublime. Going back and playing Horizon 3 there has definitely been a jump in terms of graphical fidelity.Online there is Team Adventure or competitive singles races but I still feel as though this could be a whole lot more streamlined. The menus are still a bit overbearing and can be very slow such as when you're in your garage and looking at your car collection.Unfortunately the cosmetic element is stuffed into the game and you will unlock this trash during wheel spins. I would much rather have a car than a stupid taunt but that's what's been packed in to the title. It's to appease the microtransaction element but I wish you had the option to bypass it entirely and even if you don't choose to spend any additional money on the cosmetics it will still impact you through unwanted items.---Summary--- (Scored out of 10)Graphics 10 - Outstanding lighting and visual effects. It's easily one of the best looking games this generation.Sound 6 - Great car sounds but the music within the game is really not very good and quickly grating. This is dependent on your own tastes but it would be good to have the opportunity for custom soundtracks. At least you can turn it off.Gameplay 8 - Forza's biggest strength is its simplicity and particularly in the Horizon games.Lifespan 7 - Lots to do but it can get rather repetitive.Forza Horizon 4 is the best one they've done in my own view but I would put a lot of that down to the new setting. On the other hand, it is a game that is increasingly stale and void of creativity. I would like to see an upgrade in the online part of the game and perhaps more story elements or something to change things up a bit. Despite all this though I can thoroughly recommend it and especially if you're new to the series.

This is actually the first Forza Horizon game I have played, although I had some of the older regular Forza games in the past.Pretty much everything about this game has been so well thought out. The sandbox nature of the game means you always have plenty to do even if you're not really doing anything; you can drive around aimlessly for what feels like hours, just exploring, taking in the world, doing daft stunts and racking up points, or much more. Every now and again you will meet other real players in the game world and they can communicate with you and you can form convoys, go to events together, etc.Xbox Live also allows you to party up and a lot of the race events allow you to run them as PvP,or you can enter solo and be pitted against other Xbox Live users. You can also produce custom variants of the in-game events and publish them for others to play. And that's another part of this game - extensive customisation and sharing of just about everything. There is an in-game library where you can download car designs shared by other players, there is the auction house to buy cars off other players, and so on.The game captures the mood perfectly. The whole look and feel, tone of voice and language used by the voice actors, the soundtrack and radio commentary, the Horizon festival site - it's such a great fit and you feel like you're really there. The added immersion by the in-game commentary addressing you by your real name (as lifted from your Xbox Live account) is also a really interesting nice touch I've never seen before and made me feel like I was receiving a truly friendly welcome from the festival organisers. One thing I will say though, this isn't intended to be a traditional Forza game. As such the gameplay is more arcade-like and to be honest a lot of the cars handle very similarly, particularly the cheaper ones available earlier in the game. I also found that the various tweaks and mods for the cars (e.g. the suspension and so on) don't make a huge deal of difference. With that in mind if you're wanting a traditional track-based simulation racing game with all the bells and whistles, you are definitely better off with the regular Forza Motorsport 7 - however, I actually have both and they are both brilliant, so you never feel like you're missing out.

As the title suggests, this game is an improvement to last years, it is, in terms of graphics and the overall presentation of the game, the physics haven’t changed much at all and the set up options are the same as they have been for a while now but why improve on something that works? The new additions such as the clothing and the houses have made this feel like a brand new edition of the Test Drive Unlimited series which were brilliant. There are some truly epic roads to drive down and the live seasons are a really good addition as well, the re worked #Forzathon is also more welcomed, instead of three challenges with the same rewards, a car, some cp and xp,you now get points which you can spend on whatever items are in the store, the pattern I believe will be a car, a horizon bonus car (eg, speed, drifting etc) and then a choice of a wheel spin or a super wheel spin, the latter is an epic addition and leads to some very good prizes being won. I bought the standard edition but ended up buying the ultimate upgrade, this is well worth it for what you get, especially the inclusion of both of the future dlc’s, and the James Bond Pack is a really nice edition. Overall a great game that I will continue to spend many happy hours on, would very much recommend.

I had this ages ago and loved it. There's something nice about hammering around a track at full throttle in a hardcore racecar, but then there's something nice about a twisty backroad with the radio on and that's what you get here! It isn't for serious sim racers, they should probably stick to the main Forza games, but this is a lot of fun to play. the missions are quite varied and all the vehicles as well as being beautifully rendered, all have their own individual driving characteristics. There are not only races, but really exciting barn find cars to find and special challenges like the speed cameras and the 'see how far you can jump' things. The roster of cars is quite expansive too!My only criticism of this game is one that applies to many racing games and that is that the handling when using a controller is twitchy and difficult. I suspect this might play a lot better with a decent wheel setup. With a controller it's fun enough but it's also often quite frustrating. To sum up, really fun game. Twitchy controls with a controller. Probably not for hardcore Sim Racers.

This is the second Forza game that I have bought, but first horizon. The open world map is massive, easy to navigate around and explore but you can fast travel if needed. The range of cars is brilliant with many to choose from and customize however you want. The graphics are incredible and the eye for detail in the open world and cars is incredible and the cars look just how they would in real life. The story mode is easy to follow and you can jump in and out of the story mode with ease. Completing the races solo, co-op or online against other people if you want. The game is good to play online and you can interact with other players with ease and do co-op online races working towards the same goal or racing against other people. This game caters for everyone whether you are new to racing games or an experienced gamer and is a must have.

Pretty much the same as horizon 3, I didn’t really like horizon 3 it failed to capture my interest and I just didn’t like the environment.I loved horizon 2 and was hooked it was my go to game all the time but 3 wasn’t I found it really boring. This one has given me the same feeling as horizon 2 did the environment is awesome I love how seasons change it keeps it fresh and interesting!I love the grey wet and muddy weather, graphics are lifelike, people think it’s a real picture of a car in game.I love drum and bass and glad to see hospital radio is back again with a load of new tunes.Only one minor gripe I used to love playing on horizon 3 with the ep3 2005 type r as its the car I own irl howeverthey don’t seem to have the car in this game only the ep1 which sucks. No complaints it’s real fun. I love it

When this game was announced at E3 in 2018, I was absolutely buzzing for this game to launch, and when it did, I could see why I was excited. In the previous game, the player was in charge of the Horizon Festival, and they were able to create their own custom events, hire/fire people from their festival lineups, sign radio stations and even listen to their own songs via Groove Music. In this game, the player now lives at the Horizon Festival. It seems a lot more story based as well, as the player can buy houses and businesses, customize their character and take part in Horizon Stories, which is a new feature. This game is seriously incredible, and in my opinion, it's the best game in the franchise to date.Microsoft are constantly bringing out new content for this game such as new cars and DLC as well.

Fantastic installment of the Forza Horizon franchise. Whether racing circuits, sprints, flying through the air after successfully navigating a danger sign or simply exploring the rolling countryside of Britain, Forza 4 has something for everyone. Forza's online and social events keep the adrenaline flowing and gameplay fresh and enjoyable, although if being social isn't your thing there is more than enough to keep you entertained. The addition of the changing seasons has made driving conditions even more realistic and challenging, with different events taking place throughout the year the driving experience evolves into something quite real.Forza 4 is easy to navigate and lots of fun to unwind with.A real must for all gamers.

I like the game, graphics and everything, but there is this one thing that can ruin everything - when you finish a race - instead showing the car and the road and the other cars on mms ahead/behind you - it shows an ... animation of a car scrolling from the one edge of the screen to the other. What?Where is my finish line experience - I just raced with 200 km/h and instead continue that feeling of a race - what do I receive - complete stop of everything in a second and show a car animation. Very very disappointing.I like how they filter the events - in horizon 3 there was a ton of events and races that you might not want to do,was hard to look at the map - here it expands more events only of the type that you actually do.

This is the first Horizon game I've played (previously played the Motorsports) so I'm familiar with how everything works etc.For the most part the game is excellent; handling of the cars feels fairly realistic, the graphics are fantastic and overall it's an enjoyable game with the right mix between skill and fun needed to enjoy without being drawn into the finer technical details of car setupSadly it's let down by a few graphical twitches (slow down and in the presentation screens the cars often don't fully sit on the ground! and everyone now and again it throws me back to the Xbox home screen :(Even the sat nav is true to life and has the occasional hissy fit!!Hopefully future updates canremedy the above.......

Bought this as a present for my 8 year old nephew who is a huge FIFA fan and so it went un-played until his uncle (me) came home for Christmas. Got this on a great amazon deal and thought it looked really impressive. After watching You Tube to explain how to play this game we set off on a marathon 8 hrs of playing. The cars look amazing ,the game play is awesome and easy to pick up ,the sound track we had (there are many) was pumping and the selection of cars just epic. We spent days following racing and learning more about the game ,even got his dad involved. Since leaving i have found my life has a Forza 4 hole in it that needs to be filled ,this game is that good !

This game is exactly what l was expecting as l own 'Horizon 2 & 3. Although a different game format to 'Forza 5/6/7 which l also own, it still has good graphics and excellent car detail with gorgeous scenery. That said my only gripe is this thing l believe is called a 'Griefing'. It's when your driving along a lovely scenic road and some idiot comes out of a side turning, or comes across to your side of the road and deliberately collides with you. If this happened very rarely it would keep you constantly on alert, but it gets a bit out of hand and needs to be calmed down. Otherwise good stuff. What’s there to dislike? Over 500 if you include DLC, a beautifully created map with 4 seasons, tons and tons of different style races, such as road races, dirt races, cross country, drag races and more, not to mention how many different horizon stories there are to complete, including a Top Gear one, all filled with mini missions and challenges. I’m always online with friends comparing cars and racing them to specific locations. There’s also many many different PR challenges to be competed such as drift zones, stunt jumps, speed zones and traps, etc. Buy houses, customise many many cars, race friends and find beauty spots. Best. Racing. Game. Ever.

Another great Forza Horizon game, if you've played the others you'l know what it's all about but for me this is a definite improvement , especially the off-road races with jumps etc. that are just so much fun . Hundreds of different cars to drive and the scenery of a compacted UK is fantastic . I'm not sure why some people don't rate this game , maybe they don't like driving games and should have stuck with Fortnite . The only thing I don't really like is your avatar and the 'emotes' but I guess that's just an age thing and younger players like that kind of thing . If you like driving games and you've got an Xbox then don't hesitate to get it .

I have owned all previous Horizons but FH4 is the greatest of them all.The new seasons dynamics feels like 4 individual new maps and make your choice of vehicle and setup important for each race or trial. The graphics on Xbox One X in 4K will have you stopping and admiring the scenery and wanting to visit every location. The map is huge. Easily the best driving game available today and perhaps the best ever released. I race sims at the weekend but this is perfect for midweek blasts and to put a smile on your face vs. the concentration and stress that comes with sim racing.Congrats Playground Games for a truly epic game.
