This game really exceeded expectations.Wasn't expecting much longevity from this title, thought once the kids had walked round the park, met Mickey Mouse, and hugged a Disney Princess they'd be bored. However, there's a lot more to this game than I expected.Firstly navigating the park is a doddle.. You simply point where you want to go, and your avatar make his or her way through Disneyland. The only pity is that the kids couldn't use their standard XBox Avatars in the game, and had to create their own "Disney" avatar (which is not as varied as what is offered via the standard Avatar editor), that cost the game a star I'm afraid. However the theme park is beautifully recreated, even the adults in the room were impressed when the kids first stepped out onto Main Street, USA. If you have been to Disneyland you can probably find your way round without ever having to refer to the map. Sleeping Beauty's castle is where it should be, as is Buzz Lightyear's ride, etc..Speaking of the map.. one advantage of the game is that you can be stood in Main Street and be instantly whizzed to anywhere in the park just by calling up the map.. What you wouldn't give for that sometimes at the real Disneyland!? And when I say calling up the map, I mean literally calling up the map as this game seems to do the best job of implementing voice commands that I've seen in a Kinect title. And saying "Return to park" or "Continue" is a lot easier than hovering over the buttons with your hand..Throughout the park are Disney characters for you to meet, hug, collect autographs from and a large number of them will also give you quests to complete (i.e. you will have to find burgers to feed a hungry Stitch, or will need to help the aliens from Toy Story find their friends). Completing quests gives you points which you can spend in the stores, to get autograph books (which you'll need to collect signatures of the Disney characters), photograph albums and costumes for your Avatar. In addition to all the quests and characters you can meet and help out, all of the "big" Disney rides have been converted into mini-games that can be played by one or two players. So if you enter "The Haunted Mansion" you'll take part in mini games which involves falling down the lift, and later "busting" ghosts using your torch. If you go to "Peter Pan's Flight" you'll be soaring over the streets of London on your way to Neverland, before eventually confronting Captain Hook in a sword fight. The nice thing about these mini games is you cannot fail - important so as not to frustrate the younger players, but players who do well will be rewarded with higher scores. All in all, this is fun, varied, graphically impressive and has the "wow!" factor for the kids (and the young-at-heart) who will love the Disney setting and characters. It has enough content to not just be a five minute "flash in the pan" like many games designed with kids in mind, and is fun enough to keep players coming back for more.

That's how I'd sum up this game; we got it for my sons Christmas along with Sesame Street. He is 4.We though it might be something ok to keep him occupied, but we were more looking forward to Sesame Street. We were immediately not impressed when we started exploring the park, the controls were not great; the tasks set by the characters were a little tedious and not much happened. Then we got to the first `ride' which is the matter horn. My son loved it. After that we discovered you can select the `rides' from the main menu and more open up eventually etc. Now he loves it and asks for it over Sesame Street most nights.I don't think the adverts for it or anything does it justice, there are loads of different things to do and they are quite varied. Some of the games are better than others as you you'd expect, but there is generally a high quality and there are loads we still have not played yet.The Nemo game especially impressed my son, when he had to swim away from Bruce the Shark, he actually thought Bruce was going to catch him and he was swimming away frantically LOL.As said for something we had never really heard of or seen reviews of, we have had loads of fun with this. For older kids that want completion of the main game, there is a lot of plodding about doing nothing much of anything, but it does unlock new `rides'. But it is fiddly, we were sent to get a ribbon from Mad Hatter, went into the Alice ride, could not find anything there, then we talked to Mad Hatter outside and that seemed right, but he wants his picture book filled and we are not sure where to go next. There was to begin with a little light that takes you to the correct places, but that seems to have gone haywire. One grumble is when anyone walks by whilst my son is playing, (Its going to happen) it tries to sign them in, if he sits down for me to get a bit that he finds tricky it changes our characters completely, whereas a game like Sesame street understands adults will help Kids and lets you just switch over quickly. So niggle make it a 4 star and not a 5, but still a great game.Overall though for me one of the most entertaining and varied games on the Kinect, would rank it alongside Kinect sports and slightly above Sesame street for children.Role on more games like this.

This game does a great job of capturing that true 'happiest place on Earth' vibe one gets from a trip to Disneyland. It is faithful in its recreation of the various parks yet makes the most of being able to provide a fantastical twist to the many rides we all know and love. If you have fond recollections of a youthful trip to Disneyland, then this game will certainly rekindle those memories. Many different characters appear - though they are predominantly from the eras of Michael Eisner and those who came before him. Characters from the 'Finding Nemo' and 'Toy Story' franchises are the most notable appearances from any Pixar films. It would have been ideal to see more recent Disney characters receive more prominence in the game. The Disneyland rides become interactive games and (while obviously geared for the Xbox's now largely defunct Kinect add-on) remain playable and enjoyable while using a controller. Most often they are a mix of quick-time-event button pressing and on-the-rails shooting gallery style gameplay. (For example, 'It's A Small World After All' becomes a game wherein you have to press buttons in time to match the dances of different cultures from around the world). Besides the mini-game sections, much of 'Disneyland Adventures' is devoted to the exploration of Disneyland's various parks while interacting with the various characters and collecting the pins, photographs, and signatures which pertain to them. The game is sadly dogged by technical problems, with the most prevalent being the use of the camera. Taking photographs of various places around the parks is necessary to progress in the game, yet actually getting this done can be an immensely frustrating affair. In order to be able to take a picture you have to stand in a very specific spot, and there is no in-game guidance as to where this spot is. So, if you want to complete these sections you will find yourself running to a spot, trying to open the camera, failing then just repeating this process again and again until you luck out and find where it is that you're supposed to be standing. Technical faults aside though, this is a fun game which was clearly made with love - it ought to be enjoyable for children, as well as for older Disney fans.

OH where to start? I haven't had this much fun with a game in a while. The Kinect is a brilliant platform for this game. You get to wander around the bright sunny perpetually clean Disneyland. You have a set of tasks to do, but it doesn't get too funny if you wander off to ride the rides or explore. There is a helpful golden line that always takes you back on task no matter where you go. My sons (7 and (9) and myself....(older than them) were able to all have a lovely time. You can take pictures, high five, dance, hug and get autographs from all the characters. The most handy feature is that if you stick your hands straight up in the air, you get a map of the whole place. It is very easy to navigate around as you put your hand in front of you and move it a little bit side to side. My only real complaint is that your inventory is meant to come up when you put your right hand out at an angle between your head and your shoulder. Sometimes your inventory comes up...but more than a few times you just have your darn hand out in the air for a really long time or you spin. The rides that you go on are little games where you have to steer a boat, dance or fly. They have cleverly put little breaks in between the motions which is great, especially in the flying game, as it's nice to rest your arms for a few moments. I couldn't really praise this game enough. Well worth the money and an excellent experience with high replay-ability. Thanks Disney!

I bought this game for my 4 year old son, despite it being 7+. He absolutely loves the game. He can play it very well, and understands most of it, apart from missions where you both have to steer a boat a certain way at the same time. The Kinect does not recognise his voice half of the time, but that is not really a fault with the game or the kinect, but most of the menu work can be done vocally, from selecting your mission chapters to buying from the store. The game itself is very large. Disneyland is split into about 7-8 areas (Fantasyland, Critter Island, Frontierland etc), each of which you can explore by walking around and meeting characters and doing side quests. Each area also has it's own 'mission'games, for example, in Fantasyland, you have an option for Peter Pans Flight. In there is 4 parts, two are flying, one is sword fighting, and one is kind of a mix of the two.The different games to play varies massively, from sword fighting, to skiing, to Dancing, and there is a massive amount of smaller stuff to do, like photographing 12 hidden Mickeys on each area. For value for money, this is absolutely fantastic.Easily recommend this to anyone with kids 4+, I don't think younger kids will be able to grasp some of the stuff

This is an incredible game for children, unfortunately let down by an equally infuriating interface. My daughter has just turned 5 but cannot control the game due to the tricky interface. This is not really the fault of the game developers, rather the underlying Kinect technology. The main component of this game is running around the park, and this feels really buggy due the difficulty in controlling your characters direction. I think it would have been better to use voice controls as much as possible rather than motion sensors. The motion sensing works well inside the mini-games, but not in the main quest mode. My son is 6.5 and he manages the interface much better,so I would just say be careful about getting this game for an under 6.The game itself is amazing, much better than the real Disneyland. No queues or sunburn, and the rides (minigames) are much better in the game than in real life. You can zap things with a wand to get cash for the shops. And you can teleport instantly to any ride or zone in the park. There are also lots of real disney characters hanging around the park (again unlike real life!)

I have brought this game for my 7yr old daughter for christmas, she is Disney mad but does tend to struggle with some kinect games such as Kinectanimals as they can prove to be a little long winded and complex.I have set this game up for her so that as soon as she puts it in its ready to with the Avatar and save file, and I have to say I have throughly enjoyed setting it up..........As a family we have visited Disneyland and the layout of the game is brilliant and realistic, the interactions with the Characters around the park are great, the games/ activities throughout are easy to play and your Avatar does not keep 'dying' or loosing lives which I find great as my daughter would loose interest really quickly if that were the case. Some of the games are really lovely and girley which I hope she will love, but also have a feeling that some of the games will be much loved by my 9 yr old son. This is the best game we have brought for the kinect and I cannot wait for her to open it christmas day!!!

Concur with most of the comments here.Bought a second hand xbox and kinect for £50 for the kids before xmas and bought a few games. Getting this for a tenner or so is excellent value. The 6.5yo really likes this and it is unquestionably the one she keeps coming back to. It took her 3 or 4 goes to get used to the controls (but they had never used a kinect before). The 4yo struggles a bit with it but likes watching his sister. The star knocked off is, as other reviews hint at, due to fiddlyness at some points. It would have been better if adults could have helped the kids using the controller at times (eg tricky navigation). The kids sometimes get tired holding their arms up for long periods of time too.But despite this the subgames and general meandering about exploring are perfect for kids.We went to Eurodisney last year and the layout is spookily similar in the game!!

I was a bit sceptical when I ordered this game (as a gift for our kids - for XBOX 360 Kinect) but I shouldn't have doubted the visual quality and fun this game has to offer. Since Boxing Day, this game has sustained some interest and it must be good. I watched the game (rather a virtual reality?) being played and I must say the graphics is quite stunning and the interaction with the Disney characters is also well thought out and full of fun. In short, a lot has gone into the design of this adventure game to make it very appealing and interesting. Our kids have been to the real Disney twice and I'm surprised that they are not bored with this virtual reality substitute.Just to say that the quality of this game must be great to maintain such an engaging interest.A well-made Kinect game and highly recommended, particularly for the very young age.

Absolutely fantastic game! So much fun for all the family, from very young children to grandparents! To summarise the game, you chose your character and walk around Disneyland Park meeting lots of characters along the way. The character interaction is great fun and they give you little tasks to complete, for example, Mickey may task you with getting Pluto’s autograph, or Cinderella may ask you to find the things she needs to make you a wand which you can then use to enchant things in the park. the more interactions you have the more merchandise you unlock in the shops, from autograph books to dress up costumes which your character can then use. There are lots of mini games to complete too.My daughter likes that you have the option to play using the controller rather than the Kinect all the time.Overall would 100% recommend

In Kinect Disneyland Adventures, you do feel as though you are actually there. Superb graphics and sound. They have got the music and interactions just right. It's a shame you can't bring in your own avatar though, as the game avatar's that are on offer are very limited. Also, when playing the games, they could of included full body control, such as side steps. Instead you lean to the left or right to move left or right, which is a shame, as this could of made the game perfect! However, these are just minor snags in the game. There is plenty of things to do, get an autograph from the many disney characters, you can high-five them, cuddle them and even dance with them. You can even have your photograph took with them. There are many games to play and rides to go on. Great fun for kids and all of the family.

This game is so addictive that i was at this for 6 hours and hadnt a clue i was playing it that long. everything in the park is exactly where they are in real life so it sometimes feels like you are there and find yourself saying "i remember that". I did think when i bought this game that it would be mostly suitable for children but i am 29 and find this game sometimes hard especially trying to find all the mickey mouse ears and unlocking the secrets but once you get used to it it really is hard to walk away. so much detail and thought has went into making this game that even taking part in the haunted mansion task was just like the ride in Florida.I would definately recommend this for adultsand children who love everything about disney characters and the park itself.

I have a 50" plasma tv but I'm in the kitchen watching king kong on the world's smallest' oldest portable tv because my little princess loves this game.It doesn't matter that i don't like it and shes too young to write about it herself so I'll just say this, we overspent as usual on shedloads of crap (moshi mostly) this christmas and we could have saved most of this money by giving her this game and the kinect sensor, she loves it.If you have a gummy 6 year old princess that you want to make happy you could do a lot worse and it beats queuing for a plane, hire car, disney, food and the plane home again. Do 6 hrs straight and pay £4 for a hot dog and you'll feel just as p133ed off as people who spent £4,000 to get there in the flesh, great value.

A must for all disney fans. The park is lovely to walk around and the kids love collecting autographs, dancing with and taking photos with all the characters. The kids love playing the mini games eg pirates of the Caribbean, small world and big thunder mountain. There are loads of activities to do whilst walking round the park; using your magic wand to collect trash cans, man hole covers, parasols and items needed by the quests that characters require, and taking photos at photo points and finding hidden mickeys!!! I think Mum loves the game more than the kids!!! An absolute bargain at £7.99... Buy it, you won't be disappointed!!!

This deserves its five star rating. if your a Disney fan or been to Disneyland then this makes a great addition as it has everything to bring that to life. Using the kinect with this game is great as you can say or use expressions to dance, hug, take photos of your favourite characters and even get their autograph as you explore the park. It also comes with mini quests to help characters out and also dotted around the park, either by running there or fast tracking, are actual games to play to earn stars and money. With the money that you earn, you can go and buy things in the shops like additional autograph books, costumes etc.
