Absolutely recommended. Some weeks ago I was looking for a suitable backback holding my 2,8/400mm lens plus a DSLR on it in a secure position.Requirements/criterions: hold the DSLR plus the 400mm lens in a secure position, excellent build quality, enough extra space for 3 teleconverter and a filterbox (10x10x3cm) and an extra battery for the cam. Unfortunately when I was looking for reviews, there was no overall review available with plus/minus of such backbacks. Therefore I needed to check them by my own, so I ended up in my pre-selection with 4 backbacks that seem to have high quality and fit to my criteria.1) Manfrotto TLB-600 PL2) Lowepro Lens Trekker 600 AW III3) Nest EB6004)Vanguard Alta Sky 66Here the summary with the main 3 pros and cons:1) Manfrotto TLB-600 PL:+ plastic feet under the backback provide good protection (mud and wet ground)+ a lot of extra bags allow to carry a lot of extra equipment (e.g. rain jacket, extra cam body)+ well made solution for transportation of tripods (very stable)- worse cushion of all 4 backbacks in the area of the lens/camera connection (very thin)- relatively small inner height (you need to revers the lens hood completely)- opening to the back side is (my opinion) impractical2) Lowepro Lens Trekker 600 AW III+ Der largest backpack of all 4 tested backpacks, esp. inner height is fantastic, cam+lens+fully attached lens hood fitted+ best cushion of all backpacks in the area of the lens hood (~2cm thick)+ very good cushion in the area between lens and camera, holds cam and lens in a safe position+ Excellent carrier system and extra large bags at the waist belt- no extra plastics feet, "only" rubber made bottom- most expensive backback of all tested backpacksNest EB600+ Extremely good Price:performance Ratio (you might get these model for as low as ~70 Euro).+ Fits the cam+lens+half of the lens hood (better than the Manfrotto but less than the Lowepro)+ Widest Backpack of all models tested, you would be able to store additional equipment like e.g. a 24mm lens inside the backback+ very good cushioning but not as same quality as the lowepro (but still fully OK)+ a lot of space (belt bags, extra attachable bag)- had the worst carrier system of all tested backbacks, quite simple cushioning here, it's not that bad and should be OK for smaller hiking tours but if you need to walk a long time rather take another model- Cushion in the area of the lens hood inside the backpack is not as good as for the other backpacks (just two strips instead a fully covering unit)4) Vanguard Alta Sky 66+ Best inside space usage, will hold the cam+lens combo with half lens hood in a perfect way+ Looks really nice, has nice style and good attachement options, furthermore Neopren materials of high quality included+ had a lot of bags for smaller things, enough space for the equipment listed above+ best rain cover of all backbacks (like a second skin and nicely hidden)+ very good carrier system, even with openings for ventilation. in my eyes best of all tested backbacks, customizible, well cushioned+ excellent cushioning inside of the backback- no bags at the waist belt- only rubbered bottomMy quality ranking: Vanguard>Lowepro>Nest>ManfrottoMy price/benefit ratio ranking: Nest>Vanguard> Lowepro>ManfrottoI decided to go for the Vanguard, The Nest is also a very interesting alternative esp. with the price/benefit ratio. The Lowepro is the best backpack for large combos beeing the only one that was able to hold the cam + 400mm lens + complete lens hood combo in position. The Manfrotto was the only one that was not suitable for doing the job due to the small inside height and the quite bad cushion.Hope, the review helped you in your decission making :)info: in the image from left to right: Vanguard Alta Sky 66, Manfrotto TLB-600 PL, Lowepro Lens Trekker 600 AW III, Nest EB600

WOW! Amazing product (did not think it was going to be as big as it is) this will protect my camera equipment and then some. All of the extra storage compartments and the easy access side pocket for the camera are great.

This is a great backpack with lots of space and compartments for your gear.Seems very well made.It is big though. So not something you’d want to be lugging around if you’re just out for a stroll.
