Being a buyer of all things Makita it was only natural that when I needed a small industrial type vacuum cleaner, I would buy this machine, I did buy the Karcher machine at first because it was on offer at a good price, but that was so poorly made it went straight back to the shop, (my wife saw it and bought on impulse), the Makita was just as much of a disappointment when I received it, the normal 25 language "Operating Instructions" was totally useless as all it instructed on was the need to tell the operator the correct procedure , after reading the English chapter there was no reference to the machine controls at all, only some very vague drawings which did not convey any information that would make operating the machine any more clear. The machine does suck, and blow, but then so does the cheapest wet/dry vacuum on the market, at the price this machine is pitched at it is circa 4 times the price of a similar machine, the build quality leaves a lot to be desired, and it certainly does not look like a product of the normally excellent Makita company, the rear wheels are completelyuseless in as much as they, being very thin mouldings fall onto the hub and act like drum brakes, making it impossible the wheel backwards, any attempt to do this has the machine fall over backwards, the so called, "Innovative hose storage" appears to be nothing more that wrapping the hose around the drum, the hose being a very good length at 3.5 Mts, but very cheap and thin, I think this is one Makita productthat will get used for a while, then thrown in the barn. In conclusion this machine is so unlike the usual excellent Makita product that I think it must be a cheap, Chinese made outsourced product. Having now used this cleaner until the inner bag is almost full I attempted to empty it, a new bag costing £12, this proved to be very difficult as the dust had collected between the two layers of the bag, leaving a considerable amount of dust unable to get out through the 50mm hole, (yes it all has to come out the same way it went in!), this really is a terrible design, and the only way I can see it can be used is with an additional "vortex" unit, this will collect the dust before it enters the tank. A 100% fail in my opinion!

I bought two of these for the workshop when my trusty Trend hoovers packed up after years of abuse . I've always bought branded products and always felt Makita would be a name I could trust . The hoovers are of low build quality day one the plug lead came away from the Moulded plug . The bags for the machine are so expensive however I managed to overcome this by using the bag and getting the wife to see a zip that I could empty them rather than throw them away . The wheels on the hoover are very poor quality and in a workshop with woodwaste you can expect the hoover not being able to glide as it will tip over . Finally to top it all the switches on both hoovers have now failed and they are just over a year old .Would steer clear of buying this rubbish Makita hoover .
