I am a big fan of the maybeline superstay range, in fact i have quite a few of their products including my favourite bomb proof lipstick! This is superstay foundation, i have no luck with foundations. I think its because im getting on a bit (i start 50 therapy next year!) so the foundation just sits in the wrinkles.Ive added a before and after picture to the review so you can see the effect of the foundation (and no other make up so im a bit ghostly but im a goth so im ok with that). I havent retouched the photos ( i wouldnt anyway but im not computer savvy enough for that kind of thing, more a paper and pen person tbh).I havent seen stick foundations since my youth. Ive never used one, they always seemed really heavy and mask like, more like you were painting your face to cover it totally than applying foundation! This is a revelation, im a total convert. It seems to be the nirvanna of a full coverage foundation that isnt mask like, doesnt wear to highlight your wrinkles and stays put. This stuff is easy to apply, i actuall drew a few lines on my face and just spread it with my fingers (too lazy to find make up bag and too keen to try it out!). I wasnt expecting much from such sloppy application techniques but ruddy heck! even slapping it on gives a fab finish. I might have to try a matching powder and concealer if they do one. Bye Bye expensive mac foundation, you have just been usurped.I showed my partner and asked their opinion? 'pale' i got back. Whilst the goth in me was clapping happily and doing a little dance, 'pale' isnt actually that helpful a comment for a review! I pushed and got 'healthy'. Yep, i'll go with that. I think it evens out my skin tone. The container this comes in is like a giant thick lipstick. Its not actually that long so hopefully it wont wear down quickly. The other end has an applicator sponge that looks like those slanted headed sponges you see everywhere now for blending and contouring. Ive not actually used it yet as i didnt actually notice it was there when i first used it!!! <rolls eyes>Full coverage lasting foundation that evens out skin tone, comes in a convienient container, is easy to apply and i utterly love it. Just had a thought, as its so thick it would probably work as a concealer too!

This dual-ended make-up tool has a foundation stick at one end and a sponge applicator at the other. You rub/dab (depending on how heavy you want your make-up to look) the foundation over your face and then use the applicator to blend it in (you could also use your fingers). You get about 1.5cm (see picture) of stick and the sponge is ok, although nothing breath-taking. It comes in 16 different colours and natural beige is a reasonable match to my olive skin. A slightly more tanned colour might be better but I think the next colour along might be a little dark. Hard to tell as the colour is a little darker than the pictured one on the amazon website and the Maybelline colour guide on the website is useless.I usually use a Bare Minerals foundation which is a powder or a tinted moisturiser. The stick works really well: it has great coverage without being pancakey so it looks reasonably natural and nicely did the job of evening out my skin tone. It lasted all day and make up sat on it well. It washed off easily with my normal cleanser.I do really like this. Minus a star for the applicator (which is ok but not brilliant) and for the lack of proper variety of and information about colours. The foundation blended well (I always moisturise my skin first) and didn't settle in lines or look cakey. I work in quite an overheated office and always need touch up my T-zone by lunchtime, and this tool was really handy for doing that. The Sand shade was a good match for my pale skin tone.

I really like these foundation sticks, they remind me of the old Max Factor Pan sticks that were re-released for a short while in my teens as a blend between the coverage of heavy theatrical makeup and the needs of day to day beauty.Whilst you can definitely get away with only one stick, I prefer to use two shades currently 003 True Ivory and 010 Ivory and would consider adding a far darker shade for more effective and bolder contour.true Ivory is a drop paler than my skin tone mostly because it has very little pink in its composition, add a dab of pink and you get me. I use this colour for coverage with a hint of highlight across the cheekbones, brow and forehead and down the nose,Cupid bow and chin. They blend together beautifully whether using the included beauty blender, a brush or fingers making the included tool a great product if you want a product on the go such as post sports or workout or to top up your look after work for example. The coverage is excellent and it's creamy enough to not be too drying but due to the nature of panstick style makeup you need to be well moisturised and you may well want to wear an oil under this if you have very dry skin. Though oily types may find it slips easily. My only issue is that whilst yes you could secure the lid on the make up end and wash the blender post use, I would prefer to lower the risk of water or bacteria contamination by a removable blender to cleans properly.

I love Maybelline make up products and I have been a user of the Superstay 24H liquid foundation for quite some time so it was interesting to use this foundation stick as it isn’t something I would opt to change to as I’m happy with my liquid foundation.I have tried two colours now in this range, Ivory and now Classic Nude. Ivory is a more natural shade while Classic Nude is slightly deeper, and I think may be suited to a tinted or light tan skin tone. As with the Ivory, this is another lovely foundation from Maybelline that delivers on its promise! As expected, it applies easily and evenly when blended, gives a lovely natural finish which lasts! On using,I found the foundation stick to have different texture compared to liquid foundation, but it felt good, light on the skin, didn’t look cakey or heavy. The applicator sponge was good in easily blending to give excellent coverage and my skin could breathe.I like the idea of the foundation stick with a built-in sponge applicator, I think this is a very handy duo combo. Quick and easy to use and completely mess free. However, I do like liquid, so I wouldn’t switch just because of personal preference but I still really like this product.I don’t know if the Foundation Stick would last as long as the Liquid, however at £11 - £13, this compact duo is still great value for money.

This is a foundation stick on one end and a sponge applicator on the other. You rub the stick on your face and then use your fingers and/or the applicator to spread it around and blend. It’s very easy to use and if you are using the applicator to blend and you realise you need more of the stick, you just flip it round in your hand and apply more. You get about 1.5cm (see picture) of stick and the sponge is ok, although nothing breath-taking. It comes in 16 different colours and natural beige is a reasonable match to my olive skin. I am not a big fan of foundation or any full-face makeup, but I've started using it to cover pores and imperfections. Usually I use a wet/dry powder and a brush but I like the convenience of carrying this product with its attached sponge. It looks good on but I do wish it were easier to apply - it goes on easily but I don't find it's that easy to blend with the sponge, unless I do so right away. This True Ivory shade is a bit too pale for my skin tone but I still like it.The tube is very chunky and will take up a lot of space in your make-up bag. On one end of the tube there is a sponge applicator and the other end is a twist release foundation stick. I’ve got to say that despite the size of the tube,it only contains a small amount of foundation. The foundation stick easily swipes across your skin, and can then be blended using the very soft sponge. The tapered tip allows access to all nooks and crannies, and is very well secured. I have sensitive skin, but no dryness, irritation or blotchiness following use. I do like the colour and look of this foundation, but considering the size of the tube and the high cost, I can’t get over how little product there is.

I didn't have very high hopes for this stick foundation but was pleasantly surprised. It comes in a neat and tidy little applicator with two caps one on either end. One end holds the foundation which is operated through a stick you turn to pop the foundation up. On the other end is a little sponge blender. When I first swatched the foundation on the back of my hand I was thrilled with the colour match and also surprised at how creamy and smooth it was. I then used the little blender and found it was pretty decent. However, my one gripe is why they cant make these removable so you can easily wash them.Applying to the face was nice and easy although you have to be careful not to be too heavy handed as like I said the consistency is pretty creamy so if you push too hard you will deposit way too much product or even damage the foundation stick. The formula once blended on the face was really nice but the first day's wear wasn't as long as I hoped for. Having said that it was a bit of a rush job applying it. I think done properly and possibly with the use of primer this may well have a decent amount of staying power too. Pretty impressed

This is one of those items that could be a real game-changer if you, like me, find foundation one of the trickier items of make-up to apply well. The stick is super-creamy and applies easily onto the skin producing fairly heavy coverage at first sight (I expected to have to remove the lot and start from scratch). The game changing part is the sponge, which spreads the foundation across the skin and makes it look pretty flawless – both the application and your skin. The fact the sponge is integral is what I think makes the difference; you can speedily blend by flipping the stick rather than spending precious seconds getting a separate item and thereby allowing the foundation to dry a little.Once in place,it lasts well and until you want to remove it. The creamy consistency makes it kind on dry skin and it is less prone to settling on the bits you are trying to hide – that sponge really does help. It also means you can go as heavy or light as you wish as the sponge will even out your look. I am no expert when it comes to make-up, but this helped give me a much better finish than I have ever achieved on my own before.
