Firstly, I think it would help for you to know a little about me as the reviewer: I am a 56-year-old woman with wrinkles, blemishes, freckles, and dry skin. Although, naturally pale with blue eyes and when younger I had naturally ginger hair, I do tan very easily due to enjoying too much sunshine over the years.I love a full face of makeup and will buy, try, and use all ranges across all price bands. I do not have a favourite brand.I have not used a Maybelline Foundation before, so I was excited to try it.The shade I am trying SHADE | Golden Bronze. It is slightly too dark for me, but to give it a proper road test I applied it in the same usual manner I would with my regular makeup routine; this meant that firstly I applied a primer, then the Maybelline Dream Urban Cover All-In-One Protective Makeup applied with my usual foundation brush and finished off with a light dusting of my user powder. The only process I omitted was a concealer as I wanted to see how it coped on its own.The first thing that is quite noticeable is the fragrance; it smells exactly like sunscreen; I suspect this has something to do with the SPF50. It is not unpleasant, but it is unusual in makeup. The precision tip makes it extremely easy to dispense ensuring that there is no waste.Although the consistency is runny, it goes on very easily and blends seamlessly but sadly failed to cover my blemishes even though it does claim to be full coverage.I liked the dewy, fresh appearance and if my skin was younger with fewer blemishes, I think it would be quite lovely and to be honest, it may work on my skin when I am on holiday with a tan when I don’t wish to wear a heavy foundation.A negative for me is that it does not stay fast. It might stay longer if it was used with a setting spray.I was intrigued by the description on the front of the tube that says Broad Spectrum; what does Broad-spectrum mean?Maybelline state “our first foundation to combine full coverage with SPF 50 broad spectrum.” A google search states that broad-spectrum means that it is effective in protecting skin from ultraviolet radiation by absorbing or blocking both UVA and UVB rays’ broad-spectrum sunscreens.Overall, I would say it is more suited to younger skin.Priced at £8.34, given the results, I feel this is good value for money.

I'm usually Porcelain or Ivory in foundation shades (including Maybelline ones), but the Porcelain and the Ivory shades are both too fair in the Dream Urban Cover line. The shade Warm Ivory [100] looked too dark for me at first swatch, but once applied to my skin, the runny formula makes it very easy to blend into skin, so it matches me very well. Could the high spf and anti-pollutant skincare ingredients be altering the shades? The big draw for me is that here in the UK Dream Urban Cover is sold as being a lightweight full-coverage product specified for dry skin, so I was excited since all of the big foundation and concealer releases for the past few years have been suitable for every skin-type except dry skin. However, it isn't full coverage (though I prefer that about it), it's a medium coverage, but it can be built up.At first I really didn't like the way this looked on my dry skin, but after exploring different primers and application methods (fingers, different brushes & various sponges) I've come to really like it; if you have dry skin I've found this foundation to look and wear best applied over a water-based primer or directly over bare & freshly moisturised skin, using a damp beauty blender. Applied in the way that works for me, I have no complaints with this foundation; it gives flawless coverage that lasts the full day, and I've not experienced any oxidation, transfer or cakiness. The finish to Dream Urban Cover is a lightweight satiny & glowy healthy-skin one, the coverage is a none mask-like medium and the wear time time is excellent, plus it is the first Maybelline foundation I've tried that hasn't oxidised on me. I'll apply it in the morning and it'll still be in place 8/9 hours later without being set, and about 12 hours after being set.I don't go for heavy coverage all of the time, but I reach for this when I know I'll have a busy day and won't get time for touching up my makeup (lets keep it real; this foundation is great for when I know I'll be too lazy to do any touch-ups) - this is a reliable option. I nearly purged it, but am very glad that I persevered with it now

I was sent this item free of charge in order that I could test it and write a detailed and honest review. This product has a real personal importance for me which I need to explain before going into how the foundation performed and the reason why this type of product is so important for people like me and the review has even greater relevance than ever. I’ve had radiotherapy treatment to my head and neck. Once you’ve had this you are advised to never ever burn the facial skin again in the sun. This means that sun cream factor 50 becomes your foundation and putting makeup on during the day is not possible. Ok if your pottering around at home but when you are out and about it’s nice to look and feel nice. This foundation is the answer to all these problems. It’s got a factor 50 uv protection ‘ built’ in . Yippee. So how did it perform. It’s a nice liquid foundation so blended in nicely. It does dry exceptionally quickly so you do have to move fast although after using it several times I found it was easier to apply in sections at a time and then blend in the next area. I got a really nice flawless ( as much as my face allows) look. I didn’t use a powder over the top and it stayed in place for about 8 hours still looking good. My eye shadow went nicely on top and the finish was a nice healthy looking natural finish and was a real boost to my confidence. It’s not a heavy foundation but I think this makes it perfect for daytime use. I use a slightly darker foundation if I go out on the town and it’s dark but I would happily use this on a summer evening. The foundation removed easily with cleansing wipes and my skin showed no sun damage at all and believe me ten minutes in the sun and I’m going pink. I will definitely be buying this for the future. It’s so nice to feel normal and feminine again. If you don’t have the considerations that I have and you just want to protect your skin from harmful rays or you have to protect your skin for other reasons then I’m sure you will find this very effective and I can’t recommend it enough. For anyone whose undergone cancer treatment it’s an absolute must.

I was initially surprised by the liquid feel of this Maybelline Dream Urban Cover foundation in shade 122 Creamy Beige, it is very runny so a little goes a long way. I moisturised first with my usual moisturiser then applied little amounts using my fingers onto my skin, it went on smoothly and felt very light on my skin. It doesn’t clog my pores like other foundations I’ve tried, it covered evenly without drying anywhere too. Plus it smells lovely. I like it’s SPF 50 protection against the suns rays, though of course in November in the UK there’s not much chance of strong sunshine burning my skin. It’s also pollutant protecting, and there’s lots of that in the air with all the traffic daily. It’s left my skin looking smooth, and silky though not matte, but that can fixed with a dusting of powder (I use a Maybelline Dream Matte powder I’ve had for ages). The creamy beige shade looked darker on my arm than on my face, so trying it on the inside of your arm isn’t always a good indication of the shade on your face. It’s a light tan with a slight yellow tone rather than a pink tone to the beige. Sitting here typing this my skin still looks really good from the application hours ago. I don’t wear foundation very often, lots I’ve tried I didn’t like as they looked heavy, dry and clogging, but this is almost like a tinted moisturiser but with better coverage and sun protection. I think it’s excellent value at just under £6 as you use so little. I genuinely recommend it. I have middle aged combination skin where I have dry patches and oily areas too, this foundation is so light it seems to work well with my skin. Please see my photos of the foundation on my arm and on my face, no other make up applied, it has remained even, and looks dewy and fresh hours later.

I have combination skin which is oily in places and dry in others. I tend to go for mattifying foundations, but this one is appealing because it has added vitamins that can help protect the skin from daily stresses. I wouldn't say it's full coverage, but it has a nice smooth finish and it looks natural.Pros:- SPF 50! Something I need now I'm nearing 30. Even in non-Summer months this is important but I definitely think this foundation will be my choice in the Summer- Doesn't dry skin out, doesn't cake or flake around dry skin, seems to control shine too surprisingly, maybe that's the nourishing ingredients!- Feels really lightweight and non-tacky. It just feels like skin on top of skin- Dries quickly and builds well, although I found I couldn't quite reach full coverage even with 3 layers. The liquid feels a bit too thin to be able to achieve this, so I would say it's medium coverage (you can still see blemishes through it, and that's with concealer!)- Shade matches perfect and does not oxidise (ie get darker) whatsoever- Stays in place for hoursCons:- Would be nice if it were a bit more moussey and less thin as a liquid- Not full coverage, shouldn't advertise it as so!All in all I'd really recommend this foundation especially with the SPF. My combination skin deals with the balance quite well and it is super natjtural. It's hard to tell whether the Vitamins and antioxidants are benefiting my skin but I'd imagine this is something that will happen over time. If you want a lightweight, good coverage foundation that stays in place and feels and looks like skin, and also benefits your biggest organ's wellbeing, then this is for you!

Maybelline Dream Urban Cover All-In-One Protective MakeupSupplied in a soft tube measuring 12.5 cm in length, total contents are 30 ml(1 fl OZ) of cream. The tube has a chromed plastic screw on cap which in my opinion is preferable to a push on cap. A screw on cap I feel is less likely to leak when carried in a bag.The shade that I received is called 'Fair Porcelain', this shade appears to be the lightest of the 20 various colours that are available. Enriched with anti-oxidants, vitamin E, Vitamin B3 & baicaline, this does offer some health benefits to the skin. For testing purposes, I applied some of this to the back of my hand before passing it on to my wife for her more expert opinion. When applying this I found the application tube to be very thin and slender, it's easy to squeeze out a very small amount if you wish. This protective makeup is soft, smooth and creamy. I found it very easy to apply using just a small amount squeezed onto the tip of my finger. This does seem to go a long way, I suspect this tube will last quite some time.My wife really liked this. She loved the very light Porcelain colour as she found it blended in very nicely with her skin colour. She doesn't like to wear heavy makeup, she much prefers makeup that blends in giving a more natural look, rather than a China Doll appearance. This does seem to be the type of makeup that she prefers, she certainly gives this the thumbs up.If you have found my review at all helpful I would very much appreciate if you could click the 'Helpful' button below, thank you.

The first thing I’ll mention about this makeup is that the colouring is off. It leans towards the orangey, which obviously isn’t a natural skin tone for anybody. It’s like the makeup of old that always gave everybody an orange ring around their faces. You’d expect better from a well known brand in this day and age. That aside though (as it can be rectified by mixing with whitener or darkener foundations!) it does work well to give skin a layer of protection from the elements.I’ve found that it gives a sunscreen level of protection in the sun, and also protection from the harsh cold. Normally my skin would turn reddy and dry out in the cold, this foundation has seemed to of helped stop that greatly. As for the coverage- well it’s pretty good at doing the minimum requirements I usually look for- covering my freckles, but then again I did have to mix with another of my products due to the aforementioned orange shade of this, so I can’t say how well it would work solo. It seems good how I’ve used it though. The price point is decent enough for what you get- I mean it is essentially a high street brand so it’s cheaper than premium cosmetic brands, but the quality is shown in the price point.I think it would be fine to use for people who are on a budget when it comes to makeup, or perhaps first makeup for teenagers. It would add a level of protection to the face without breaking the bank to do so, or having to use multiple products IE sunscreen AND foundation.

I tested the Maybelline Urban Cover foundation in the shadde 100 warm ivory.APPLICATIONI used a beauty sponge to apply this foundation and it blended out nicely. It is not too thick or runny, the consistency is great. Unfortunately, it clings a little to dry patches which I get on my nose so it's not great in that respect but it may be better if a more intense moisturiser is used beforehand.COLOURI am a redhead so naturally my skin is pale. This colour was perfect, it didn't make me look 'ghostly' like some foundations do. Also, it did not oxidise (this is when the foundation reacts with oxygen and changes colour on your face, typically going a slight orange colour. This did not occur with this foundation.COVERAGEIt has a medium coverage but it is buildable so you can apply more if desired. I tend to apply just one layer for everyday, medium coverage that still can look natural.LONGEVITYThe longevity of the product was not remarkable but was still good - it started to separate on my face a little after a few hours but this happens to me with most foundations.I have not used this foundation in the summer but it is great that it has SPF 50 in it, it is recommended to always wear sun protection for preventing wrinkles, etc. that are caused by the sun, so this foundation being SPF 50 is an added bonus.Overall, this is a nice foundation, particularly for the price, and the colour and coverage of the foundation are particularly good.

At £5.50 this is affordable and useful.I finally found my perfect foundation a few years ago. Until then I have tried loads of the things, from the £40 ones to the £4 versions. Generally the more expensive ones were better quality, but not always outstanding. This Maybelline foundation is definitely at the cheaper end of the scale, yet it seems more effective than some of the expensive ones. This shade is just a touch too dark for me but still light enough to give me a good idea of coverage etc.It is in a tube which I like because when it starts running out, cutting a small hole in the end means you can squeeze the dregs out. Waste not etc etc.I don't think this foundation is particularly heavy despite it being 'full coverage'.It definitely lives up to its 'lightweight' claims. A small amount goes a long way.It comes out of the tube easily and is a bit on the runny side, so be careful how hard you squeeze!I found the foundation a bit patchy despite feeling light and runny. I suspect it is the sort of product that needs good skin preparation before applying, eg primer. It layers quite effectively.I won't be buying this to replace my usual one, but there's nothing dreadfully wrong with it. Maybelline is a respected brand and the foundation is downright cheap, and I am sure it is ideal for many others.I hope you find this review useful, and I would appreciate it if you could please click the helpful button below, thank you.

I've used Maybelline foundation for several years (my usual is Dream Satin Liquid), so I was keen to give this one a go.Firstly, there's a nice feel to it - it's lightweight and not greasy or sticky and it applies evenly. It covers well, without looking caked or thick and hides minor blemishes a treat, whilst still giving your skin a radiant sheen. I do think that if you had something larger you wanted to cover, such as a scar, this foundation wouldn't cover it due to its light consistency, but it certainly deals with small imperfections well.I find the foundation lasts well throughout the day and evening, staying put and not going patchy, which is good.I've got sensitive skin so I'm always a little nervous about using a different product, even by the same manufacturer and when it states that it's ok for sensitive skin, but I'm happy to say I've had no irritation or problems with it.I chose "light tan" colour, but there are 20 shades to choose from and I think everybody would be able to find one to suit them from that range. The only thing I would prefer is if there was a pump applicator on this (like the Drean Satin) rather than just the tube. It maybe down to what I've been used to for so long, but I personally would have found this better and easier. To sum up, this is a decent all-round foundation and with a SPF of 50 for when the summer gets here (eventually...) I think it's a good buy and offered at a reasonable price.

I love the idea of this SPF 50 makeup; the highest sun protection you tend to get in a foundation is factor 15 so I was excited to try this. Firstly the tube is small at 30mls, and has a screw top lid, not the easiest to dispense. The foundation itself has a nice fluid consistency and goes on well. I thought the smell to be very like sunscreen however, and although it feels quite lightweight going onto the skin, the end result is a little sticky, it felt like I had a lot of product on my face, even though the coverage is fairly minimal - it's not a heavy full coverage foundation. This doesn't have a mattifying effect and makes the skin look quite dewy, although it didn't perform quite so well on my oily forehead where it became shiny towards the end of the day. Otherwise it lasted well throughout the day. It felt great knowing that my skin was protected with SPF 50 too.I found this didn't come off quite so easily when I cleaned my face at night, there was still residue on the towel when I dried my face which was surprising. So you'll need to be careful to remove this properly and as it seem to cling to the skin.Overall this is good value considering it has such a high sunscreen in it. I don't think the SPF 50 is enough for me to change makeup as this feels like I have a lot of product on my face and I'd prefer to use a higher quality makeup with a separate sunscreen. Worth a try but not for me.

I decided to experiment with a foundation cream that is much darker than my usual shade and weirdly I think it works better!Picture one is the new one I'm reviewing today and picture two is the one I've always bought.Sorry about the sharky smiles - I'm still learning how to do smiling so I don't look like a scary crocodile. The foundation was runnier than i expected and I applied it with a sponge applicator. I think I should have moisturised my skin beforehand as I got some patches where it didn't 'take' at first but with a second application I got an even tone over my face. I went over my neck as well to avoid the tell tale orange tidemark and blended carefully at the hairline.Once the foundationwas all over my skin and I did my nostrils too and my eyelids it looked fairly natural and less oompah loompa-ish. I added make up with a slightly more orange tint than I usually use and I think the end result is a pleasing healthy sun-kissed look. I did around my eyes carefully so I avoided the 'presidential' look of pink panda goggles in a sea of orange skin.I am going to do a spot test on my ear for a hair dye I've been given and if it doesn't make me go all rashy I will be dying my hair copper colour next. I think the slightly more golden skin colour will go well with a red/ginger hair colour.I am glad I decided to be adventurous and try this product.

I rarely use foundation and usually hate it, because they feel too cakey and almost like my skin can‘t breathe. This one however is very light weight. You can choose to have full coverage or in my case just add a nice glow effect. I hate covering up my freckles hence why I prefer it lighter, but sometimes when you go to certain events you just need foundation for pictures. Funny enough I ordered a darker shade, because it was hard to tell from the pictures, BUT no one noticed. It just looked like I had even more of a tan and added a super nice glow. So for me this foundation is quite versatile. You could use it as a heave or light foundation, bronzer or for contouring really great if you ordered several shades and as it is quite liquidy it will be great to mix in with liquid highlighter to give you even more of an even glow if that‘s what you like. I liked the glow it already gave me enough and it also has that nice dewy effect which I love. Moreover it was SPF50 which I rarely see brands (other than the super pricey ones) have. I even used my fingers to spread it just to be able to review how easy to spread it was and not all of us have £50 and up brush and sponge kits lol. It spread super easy. Also it doesn‘t come off or stain your clothes either. I didn‘t have any on my hands after I touched my face numerous times.

I was able to try this Maybeline Dream Urban Cover Foundation via the Amazon Vine Programme and it's been amazing. This foundation in shade Nutmeg 345 is full coverage, lightweight, protective, SPF 50 broad spectrum and anti pollution. For picture purposes I applied it on one side of my face but I have worn it almost everyday since.I just use a sponge to apply and I'm finished. It glides on very easy and to me, it evens the skin colour out in my face which is good. What I like is that you can hardly tell that I'm wearing foundation. Instead I just look very fresh and skin looks radiant. What do I dislike... to be honest I don't have any dislikes at all.It has ticked all the boxes for me when it comes to a nice lightweight foundation. This foundation comes in a squeezable plastic tube which is recyclable and because it stands up on it's lid, as you use the foundation, the remainder of product in the tube will make it's way towards the tip. Good idea so no product is lost inside of the tube.Tube holds 30ml of foundation after a week of wearing it, I still have plenty left.I think this product has become my go to foundation from now onwards and at a very reasonable price too.Very happy with this item and I would definitely buy it in the future.

The colour actually worked well with my skin. I am sure the pure ivory colour has warm undertones so if you want pink undertones then I recommend the next ivory down in shade. As I am still a little tanned this worked perfectly for me but as winter will come I will get the next shade down. The foundation is liquid. Be careful when squeezing some out as it is quite runny.I did not seem to get full coverage on the first attempt but as I added in a couple of places it looked much better and had a fuller coverage. I personally prefer the first layer as it was subtle to look at as opposed to full coverage, it definitely felt and looked more natural this way.Without primer I found this could be patchy on the skin.Whereas when I used a primer it looked perfect. My first recommendation with this is use a primer.I would use this again, I would recommend this definitely. I wouldnt say its perfect for full coverage unless you build it up a little, but as a softer more natural looking foundation with just the one layer I think it was perfect. Plus works very well to build up if you wanted to add more for a touch up for a night out.(Warm undertones are used more for tanned skin or people with naturally darker skin. Pink undertones work well with paler skin.)
