Logitech MK470 Slim Wireless Keyboard and Mouse ComboI am a big fan of Logitech products so I jumped at the chance of this Keyboard and Mouse Combo when it was offered to me. Like all previous Logitech products that I've tried, this too appears to be very well made.First thing that struck me about this Keyboard and Mouse Combo was how slim it actually was. Comparing this to other slimline mouse keyboard combos that I've tried, this has to be the slimmest yet. The mouse too is super slim, being the flattest mouse I've ever seen. The keyboard measures 373.5 mm x 143.9 mm x 21.3 mm with the mouse measuring 26.5 mm x 59 mm x 107 mm. I was quite surprised by the weight of the keyboard too,although being slim and quite small, it weighs in at a hefty 558 grams. To me, that is an indication of solid construction.Build quality is indeed superb. The keyboard is made from high quality matt white plastic with a soft textured surface. The top rear of the keyboard, which is essentially the battery cover, is made from dark grey plastic. The mouse is made from a similar material as the keyboard. On the underside of the keyboard are five soft silicone rubber feet which grip the desk tightly without any movement whatsoever. The mouse has two semi-circular pads which the mouse glides smoothly upon.Concerning the batteries:Both keyboard and mouse come supplied with batteries, there are two small pull-out tags which need to be removed to activate the batteries. One tag on the mouse, one on the keyboard.It was a bit of a mystery to me on how to replace the batteries. After a little research I found the top of the mouse will just pop off with a finger nail as it's rather cleverly held down by three small magnets. After removing the cover it reveals just a single AA battery which is easily replaced. The keyboard cover (Top rear grey panel) is removed by sliding it backwards away from the keys, underneath you will find two AAA batteries. There is also a small area for the Nano Receiver to sit in whilst in storage.Battery swapping should not be an issue as it's claimed keyboard batteries should last up to 36 months, with the mouse lasting up to 18 months.In use:Also supplied in the box is a small USB Nano Receiver, this receiver pairs with both the mouse and keyboard. I found after popping the Nano Receiver into a spare USB port on my computer, both mouse and keyboard were instantly recognised and ready to go (Windows 10).The mouse felt a little strange at first due to it's low-level slimline shape, it looks more like a flat oval biscuit than it does a mouse. It does take a bit of getting used to, but after a few hours use I kinda like it. The mouse is pretty basic with just left and right mouse buttons, along with a clickable a central scroll wheel, which is no bad thing in my opinion. On the underside of the mouse is an on/off button which only needs to be used if the mouse is to be carried around or is in storage. The mouse will de-activate after a short time of inactivity, so normally the switch would be left on.Both left and right mouse buttons are soft and positive, they are also virtually silent in operation. The scroll wheel has a slight soft ratchet feel to it with the push button too feeling soft and positive.The keyboard is a dream to use. Each key is clearly marked with a black font, the font is also quite large which makes each key marking easy to read. The keyboard feels a little like a laptop keyboard with every key press feeling soft and shallow. The keys are quite close together, they are also virtually silent in operation.In conclusion:I really do like this keyboard mouse combo. The keyboard is well made, heavy, and the keys are smooth and positive. The mouse, despite taking some getting used to, is equally as impressive. The mouse cursor moves smoothly across the screen without skipping or stutter. I received this combo set from Amazon EU three days before forecast, so that was a nice surprise. And so far, it has lived up to its promise. I bought it to replace a corded keyboard which had become increasingly unreliable & the fact that it's cordless is a surprising bonus.The keys are noticeably quieter than the previous one, the very large backspace ( & mysteriously, another spare one on the top right, in case you forget where the main one is, presumably) & delete keys are also nice, as I make a lot of typos as I type quite fast. It also has the dinky little fold-out feet at the back to angle it, with rubber bumpers on the lower bit,so it doesn't slide about on the desktop & comes with batteries pre-installed.It has a predominantly matte surface, so not the dust & fingerprint magnet my previous one was. The calculator key is very useful, as are the alternate function keys, actuated by pushing the blue 'fn' key. One slight niggle is that the silver media keys at the top don't have very distinct symbols on them, making it slightly difficult to see their function. One of these completely shuts down your pc with one button press: very handy.Oddly, it doesn't have Caps Lock or Num Lock leds, but a small screen advice notice appears when you activate them, & who doesn't always have Num Lock On?The quiet & discrete action of the keys is also very positive for a cheap membrane keyboard (as opposed to the more expensive mechanical ones) & overall & it's quite a bit smaller dimension-wise than the monstrous gaming keyboard it's replaced. The handy thing about having a cordless keyboard is that you can just pick it up & place it aside if you actually feel the need to write something on paper on your desktop, or eat a meal. OK, I was joking about that last bit, as I'm not that desperate or slobbish & I have a table in the dining room to eat meals from. But you know what I mean. Quickly frees up deskspace.It claims very long battery life but I haven't had it long enough to test the 24 month claim. Anyway, for the particularly frugal, it has an on/off switch underneath. I'm very pleased with it, & at the current Amazon price, it's a winner by my standards.Now, the mouse......I didn't need another mouse as I have an ancient cordless Logitech M510 using a similar tiny USB dongle in one of the pc's front USB ports, so expected it to work immediately, along with the keyboard, as it's got the Logitech Unifying software previously installed. Alas, the new (tiny) dongle, which looks identical to my old one, didn't work with my old M510, which is perfectly weighted, big, tall, sophisticated (much like me) & perfectly suited to my hand & loads better than the cordless M215 which comes bundled with this combo.Compared to the M215 my old M510 is a Rolls Royce, so I was momentarily dispirited.The M215 which comes bundled is quite small, has no left-hand back/forward browser buttons, no left/right scroll function on the scroll wheel, & is, if I put it delicately, is more suitable for a smaller female hand than mine & is much less sophisticated than the M510 & makes a scratchy noise on my Fellowes gel-pad mouse mat, which the M510 doesn't. It's a piece of c**p frankly. But OK for a lady or a dwarf. Not a Man's Mouse.BUT.......I got on the Logitech site/support & updated the Unifying Software, switched off the 510 then on again & Bingo! It instantly recognised it & worked, as the Unifying software recognised the 510 after specifying it in the simple menu. You can run up to six Logitech unifying peripherals from the same dongle, so that might be helpful to people who have other cherished Logitech input products like me. However, my M510 cost more than this keyboard/mouse combo combined.The supplied M215 might be small & light so more suitable for use with a laptop & at least I've got a spare mouse in case my M510 goes kaput (unlikely).All in all, 5 stars for the keyboard, at its price point, but missed 5 stars due to the patheticness of the mouse in this combo. But if you're not too fussy about mice, disregard this.All in all, typical Logitech quality & build, & for a membrane keyboard, this is good enough for me. Recommended.

This keyboard and mouse combo are designed to be ultra-slim, compact and relatively quiet in its operation. Considering its size, this combination has a comfortable fit for the user. I believe it would lend itself to a certain amount of portability and will work out great for those people who have a peripatetic working lifestyle. The general advertising, for this unit, is that this combo is should get shorter periods of downtime, as the battery should go on for longer before you need to change them. Besides, its other collective feature is that both components will go into battery saving mode/sleep mode when not in use.I was intrigued by the term scissor-switch keyboard and decided to look it up.With the scissor-switch. The keys are attached. They came keyboard works via 2 plastic pieces that interlock open ‘scissor’– like fashion, and then snap together to the keyboard and key, it still uses domes the special plastic scissors mechanism links the to the plunger, which then depresses the rubber dome with a much shorter travel than the typical rubber dome keyboard. It is common scissors switch keyboards to also employ 3-layer membranes as electrical components of the switch. Now for me, this is where things get a bit complicated, so I might skip a bit here, but it says that this type is key switch is normally found in built-in keyboards on laptops or marketed as low profile keyboards. The benefits are that they are quiet and the keys will require very little force to depress them. That said, scissor-switch keyboards are by and large, more expensive and harder to clean, but the flip side to this is due to their configuration. They’re less likely to get debris in the between the keys. The result of this technology is that it provides a more fluid and similar laptop-like typing experience. While this move pebble-like shaped mouse is pretty good for both left-handers and right-handers and has somewhat of an ambidextrous feel.To get started, first, pull the tabs protecting the batteries on your mouse and keyboard. The combo MK 470 will automatically turn on. Then insert the USB receiver in any available USB port on your desktop or laptop. Your keyboard and mouse will be ready to use. Slide the upper part of the keyboard up to find the batteries and receiver storage inside. There should be the keyboard 2 times Triple-A batteries, which have been pre-installed. Then there should be one double a battery which was pre-installed, a USB receiver and user documentation. The minimum requirements for this equipment to work with your computer or laptop should be a USB port Windows 10 or later, Windows 8, and of course Windows 7. While I've not checked this out, this unit works with Microsoft's Surface computers.All in all, I found this combination of keyboard and mouse to be easier to set up and use. This may be a small thing, but I was also happy that batteries were supplied. All too often, a technology that needs batteries is often sold without any. And that’s never a good thing. If you’re in the market for a new keyboard and mouse then this offering from Logitech is certainly worth considering.

Good reasons to buy this wireless keyboard and mouse combo are that it clears your work surface of all wires; frees-up a USB port – the Unifying Receiver occupying just one, instead of one each for the keyboard and mouse; takes up minimum space, whilst still offering a full set of full-size keys (including a number pad) and a more or less full-size mouse; and you get Logitech quality at what amounts to a budget price.The advertising that says the keyboard offers ‘all the keys you need’ is certainly true – including a decent set of function keys. Of those I use most, only the up and down arrow keys and the delete key are on the small side.The mouse is a bit basic – just the two left and right click buttons,plus the scroll wheel, which has a built-in switch to enable smooth scrolling up or down and side-to-side. Well, really, that too is ‘all you need’. I’m not a fan of the low profile of the mouse, but that does seem to be trendy at the moment, and it is equally good for left- or right-handed use.It weighs 75 grams (including battery). For me, that’s a bit on the light side; I go for about 100 grams, but that is probably one of those things that are largely a matter of what you are used to. It is not particularly quick on its feet: that may improve as the ‘feet’ become a bit smoother with wear, and perhaps cushion themselves with a bit of accumulated dust, as mice tend to do.It works well on most smooth surfaces, including a bed quilt or a leg, (trousered or untrousered!), but it doesn’t work on glass as some recent Logitech mice do. So if your work surface is glass-topped, you will still need a mouse mat.Very much on the plus side for the mouse are the ease with which the top cover lifts off to expose the battery and the docking port for the Unifying Receiver.Getting at the batteries and (yes, another) docking port for the Unifying Receiver in the keyboard takes a bit more effort and know-how, but the keyboard – when new – comes with a transparent strip that indicates where and in which direction to push.The mouse uses one AA battery and the keyboard two AAAs. Those supplied with the combo when new are not rechargeable, but there is nothing to prevent you from installing rechargeable batteries when you need to replace them. (You will have to take them out and use a conventional charger to re-charge them, though.)I have a small collection of wireless mice that run on batteries. The batteries last an incredibly long time, so I have every reason to believe the claims made by Logitech re. the batteries in this set (keyboard: 36 months, mouse: 18 months). If I find those claims are wildly over the top I will add to the bottom of this review.On the claimed quietness of the keyboard and mouse, so what? They still make some noise. But, for what it’s worth, they are a little quieter, especially the mouse.The warranty is for two years. My experience with Logitech mice and keyboards goes back a long way and has been nothing but good, so the likelihood of needing to make a warranty claim seems pretty remote.

First the bit that you really need to know. The one very poor aspect related to this combo is the user manual, that at first glance looks very tome - like and impressive ( on account of being written in about 10,000 languages) but is in fact very scant on actual information. In order to fully configure this combo you must go to the Logitech website and download and install the SetPoint software that applies to your PC ie Win 7/8 32 bit/64 bit etc. The manual makes no mention of this at all but it is essential if you wish to take advantage of all the combo's features.That blip is the only real negative for this bit of kit but once you have the software it is simple enough to use and Logitechsupport will help you on the phone if you are struggling - their number is in the manual !Now for the good aspects ; For anyone wanting a general use wireless keyboard and mouse combo that can also do more , this is the one. There are six hotkeys that can be programmed to do one action each from a very long list of things, including opening your chosen email client ,any web page or home page as well as opening any app you can find on your PC. Once programmed these keys then just need to be pressed on their own to execute the desired action. There are also four F keys that are programmable which will then execute the chosen action when pressed in conjunction with the fn key,which is a tad inconvenient if you are holding the mouse.All this is in addition to fixed function media keys for volume,skip forward or back, pause and muteThe mouse also has some versatility as you can alter the speed at which the cursor moves in relation to mouse movement and the button's functions can be changed as can the wheel press.The two are connected to the PC by a very neat and unobtrusive nano receiver that protrudes about seven to eight mm. It is said to work up to 10 meters away but I won't be testing that as I will never be that far away whilst expecting to do anything meaningful on my machine. Enough to say it has never lost connectivity at normal distances.In use the combo is good. OK,the keyboard doesn't feel as silky smooth as the one on my £1000 laptop , but that's the point, we are talking of a combo that can be had for £30. Don't get me wrong, there is absolutely nothing amiss with the keypad and it gives me all the functionality that I want and which my laptop's keyboard doesn't. The mouse works well and feels very nice in the hand, there is no fatigue whatsoever. Both seem well built and I think will last the test of time. I say this because my previous combo was the MK300 which survived several trips to the floor and a full plate of spag bol being tipped on top of it. The only reason I replaced that combo was because it had a usb receiver that resembled a sledge attached by a long cord. I craved a nano receiver.So to round off I will say this is a great piece of kit at a good price and will , I am sure , give many years of trouble free service.

This Logitech Slim Combo MK470 comprises a slim portable keyboard, MK340 low profile mouse and a 2.4GHz USB dongle. Power comes from 2AAA batteries in the case of the keyboard and 1AAA cell for the mouse with the quoted battery life of up to 36 and 18 months respectively.A simple user guide and details of the 2-year warranty are included. I found initial setup very easy and because of the supplied dongle easier than some Bluetooth devices – neither the keyboard or mouse support Bluetooth.The keyboard is impressively thin save a ridge that runs along the top edge which also gives it a convenient rake. There’s a removable top panel which gives access to the battery compartment plus storage for the dongle (which the mouse also features).

Bought to replace a smaller keyboard that came with an all in one Lenovo. That original keyboard although heavier, solid & with flat easy use keys had a number of key problems in terms of layout. The Logitech is larger and with the similar tactile response in the keys to older computers or wordprocessors. I required a good sized and well placed delete key, Enter key, backspace as well as the number keys to the right. The original Lenovo had a very small delete, backspace and enter key. Ideal for perhaps the fingers of a child or a trained bush-baby. I am neither.I needed a clear, full sized layout with old timers attention to the simple direct use of delete etc. This it has.

Keyboards can be a very personal thing indeed. The day was when I couldn't used anything other than a full size cherry keyboard with lots of movement on the keys; but I am older now and have had to use a lot of other keyboards and whereas the low amount of travel on these keys may not be my first choice, I very quickly became accustomed and actually fond of this style of keyboard. The design gives it a lift at the top so that the keyboard is angled in a very appropriate fashion.Firstly, this keyboard is very attractive and is "apple-white" so looks good with almost anything you pair it with. A single USB dongle plugs into any free slot and it takes wireless data from both the keyboard and the mouse.

Out of the box you get a very simple wireless keyboard and mouse. The keyboard requires 2 AA batteries and the mouse requires 1 AA battery which are supplied.It was easy to get connected using the unifying USB nano connector. Once it was plugged in and I switched the keyboard and mouse on it worked pretty much instantly.The keys on the keyboard are nice soft touch keys and they are quite big keys which makes it quite comfortable to type on without hitting another key by accident.There are some extra hot keys above the function keys which integrate nicely with media players in windows so you can pause, play, next back and control volume and also some keys for email, web browsing etc.

I've used this set to replace a wired keyboard and mouse on an old iMac desktop computer for my nephews to use. This is a pretty good looking and unobtrusive set that generally blends in with the white/aluminium of the iMac. I wouldn't swap on my main computer, as I don't like the feel and look of the all-plastic outer construction of the keyboard as much I do the aluminium of my Magic Keyboard - but it was a close-run thing, as I do prefer the fact that this Logitech board is full sized, including the number pad, and full-sized arrow keys. If I'd been offered this set about a year ago (before I got used to working without the number pad and the ultra-low profile of the Magic Keyboard),

Bought this "Logitech MK330" to replace our old keyboard/mice set and can't believe we've been struggling with them for so many years.This new combo set is very light and brilliant.Its great quality and is simple to install.Plug in the dongle into a USB port and remove tabs then you're ready to use.Love the feel of the keys which are so quiet.The keyboard is so responsive,enabling fast which makes typing very accurate.It has some very handy keys for media, internet, email, and so on.The mice is small but its perfect for our teenage daughter's hands and myself.Very comfortable,so working with,is such a breeze.Particularly like the micro USB widget that lets you use the keyboard and mice across

Purchased to replace and earlier version Logitech board and mouse which were damaged when a number of packed files came off a shelf, hit and trashed the keyboard, when It lost a number of critical keys. I must stress it was not to anything to do with the product not being up to an excellent build standard. just a pure accident.It came complete with all required batteries, both keyboard and mouse are fully wireless, and the small wireless transmitter just slots into the necessary PC port and away you go. All very well packaged. PLEASE remember that both the board and mouse have on/off switches under them that might need to be set to on.Ok, there is no caps lock light on this version and has a lot more function keys than I will never use,

Found this an excellent set to use with my Raspberry Pi unit. I've been a Logitec mouse/keyboard user for countless years.I like the shallow profile design, so can be tucked away when not used, the Mouse: Very slender in height. Maybe the lowest profile mouse I've come across for a long time. It has an excellent feeling wide-profile wheel. Missing is side back buttons like the brilliant MX2 mouse. Mouse clicks are very quiet in operation.Keyboard: The removal of arrow keys in the traditional location, so page up/down is not where one would normally locate them. This position takes a while to get used too.For someone using office applications, these keys are essential in applications like word/excel.

The keyboard is fantastic and the keys have just the right amount of travel and clickyness (is that even a word?). The volume buttons are very handy. The only slight negative about the keyboard is that I sometimes accidentally hit the 'show desktop' button instead of the escape button. It is positioned right above so not the best place for it as I only expect the Esc key to be there.The mouse is an average basic optical mouse. Nothing special although the on/off button is handy.The worst part about this mouse and keyboard set is the Bluetooth receiver that it operates from and connects to a USB port. Let me tell you that the stated range of 10 metres (whatever metres are!) is not accurate at all.

I bought this as a replacement for my old wireless keyboard and mouse which I had decided to retire after a decade of service. Logitech are a good solid brand and a market leader, so I wasn't too concerned about the low price or a few bad reviews. As it turns out, the performance is very good, the keyboard feels OK when typing. There isn't any software in the box but windows loads the driver fine and there is a bundle you cm download from Logitech website which give you the on-screen display afor things like caps lock and allows you to programming the extra keys.The only gripe I have is that the keyboard uses 2 AAA batteries unlike the mouse which uses a single AA which was a problem for me as I had a set of rechargeable AA I was using with my old set.However the battery life is good,
