I obtained this directly from Logitech as a replacement for another product that had failed soon after first use.Logitech market a number of excellent mice and keyboards at or towards the highest range of prices possible, some that are very inexpensive, some in-between and a range of several desktops sets of keyboard and mouse at different price breaks. This is their top product in this category. The keyboard in this instance has a few unusual features, not least of which is its soft wrist pad along the front edge and a narrow LCD panel, which is not back lit, at the top. The LCD panel includes indicators for battery level and those for NumLock and the other usual keyboard 'switches'.The keyboard appears to use the membrane type of contact rather than some of the more expensive technologies used in their higher-priced models. Using Logitech's tiny Unifying Receiver and associated software, you can not only have both the keyboard and accompanying mouse in simultaneous use but add other devices, a touch pad for example, and up to six devices in total with a single receiver. The majority of the keys are downwardly domed and their corners and edges nicely rounded. The keys are slightly more raised than on some other keyboards but do not require a long travel before contact is made. This is an arrangement which many claim is best for efficient keyboard use and is preferred to the flat key tops that are sometimes found. There is clear separation between the key tops but it is not of the 'island' design. It is fair to say that the typing experience with this keyboard is good but not comparable with what was long my standard keyboard, the wired Logitech Illuminated Keyboard which uses a scissor spring mechanism under each key or the similar wireless K800 which may be slightly superior in some respects but is less reliable overall and which uses a broadly similar switch mechanism. The keyboard is rather light and does not have quite the feel of a luxury product as its price may suggest, but is very comfortable to use. It would certainly replace the sometimes awful keyboards supplied with many desktop systems and all-in-ones.One annoyance with this keyboard is with its risers. They are thin and do not positively engage such that a minor movement, to adjust its position or angle, could and often does cause one or other to partly retract. This is more likely to occur with the longer inner pair than with the outer ones, if for no reason than in consequence of their size, but the two share a common design. It also features several multimedia keys and because of its additions, it is deeper than many competing products with a hump at the top to contain the LCD panel. The keys are black, as is the body, and the key markings are not as bold or as bright as is sometimes seen. As the LCD panel is all but impossible to read unless illuminated from above, a desk lamp or something similar may be a necessity, and probably no less so for those who do not touch type. The soft wrist rest adds considerably to the comfort is using this keyboard and it should prove a long-term favourite. The mouse is a very good one and is very usable. It bears more than a passing resemblance to Logitech's MX Performance mouse which is their current top-grade product and is of a slightly lower standard. It features a central scroll wheel and zoom buttons located more or less under the thumb. It is sculpted which many seem to prefer, but is designed for right-hand use. It should satisfy any user and again could easily replace the poor alternatives supplied with many systems. Both products are battery powered, by AA batteries in both instances, and installed in the keyboard but not in the mouse although they are supplied. The receiver is supplied as is an extension lead for those who may need to carefully locate the receiver for best function. Logitech claims that a set of batteries should be good for up to 3 years of regular use with both devices, which is exceptional and a negligible running cost. Neither product has any additional features which specifically support Windows 8.If you use a system that has a poor desktop set or you want to go wireless, you will not find a better alternative without buying separate components at more than double the combined price. Logitech's support is excellent and may alone be sufficient to consider this rather than a competing manufacturer's alternative.Recommended, with a few minor provisos. Long-term use has highlighted a few, relatively minor, issues and required a minor downward adjustment in my rating.

To start with I would like to ensure that everyone realises that this is the first new Keyboard that I have had for almost 20 years. With that in mind there are some things that while are new to me such as the flatness of the keys, and the key spacing they have not been mentioned as I believe that they are something that simply requires getting used to.Taken straight out of the box only 15 minutes ago, the first thing I noticed was that there was a small extension provided for the USB dongle which is a nice and thoughtful addition. They keyboard is covered in protective plastic covering and has a tab on the underside to ensure that the batteries are not activated before hand.Keyboard power switch is left to on, as is the mouse. Please note that the batteries for the mouse are provided but no installed to prevent power loss, and the batteries for the keyboard are installed, with a plastic tab to pull out to allow the batteries to function. They keys operate nice and smoothly, and the keyboard comes with an LCD screen to allow you to see what features are active at the moment such as Caps lock, num lock, and scroll lock. There is a media control buttons at the top of the keyboard with pause/play and track control to the left of the lcd keyboard and volume controls on the right hand side. They buttons work like a dream and I quite enjoy the use of them personally. The keyboard also has a wonderful wrist support to assist with RSI should you spend most of your day typing. and all the Function keys have a secondary purpose which can be Utilized by holding down the ever so familiar FN key. A rather nice addition is the eject key and the calculator shortcut. With the mouse I found that there is a huge selection of mixed reviews on the mouse, as the mouse is best described as "dealers choice". There are some features to the mouse that not everyone will like, as an example "hyper scroll" it can take some getting used to but it is a very good feature once your used to the way logitech's work. If you don't like hyper scroll there is also a button just below the mouse wheel that allows you to change it to a normal scrolling wheel. The mouse is slightly smaller than a standard mouse, however the range of the mouse is so vast, a little moves a lot, that it still works very well for me.To sum this report up, I am very impressed with the mouse and keyboard combo, and even professional reviews have only given the keyboard superficial negatives, such as "finger print magnet" and "attracts dust"They Keyboard and mouse combo, have a wonderful feeling, and for me are fantastic. With the addition of the power buttons on both the keyboard and the mouse, the encrypted transmission and the Logitech unified controller I don't think I could ask for a better keyboard for my work, and my games!Personally I think that the people that are complaining, are simply looking for a reason to complain, nothing is perfect and I am very happy with the keyboard and the mouse combo.I hope that this helps!

Got this to replace a previous Logitech Bluetooth keyboard & mouse combo, which I accidentally destroyed the USB dongle on & it seems that you can't get replacements parts for!Well let's look at what you get.The keyboard itself, a very small USB dongle which is not much larger than your (adults) thumb nail, 2x Duracell batteries & a USB extension wire.Setting up is a bit hit & miss, as there's no instructions to speak of, just diagrams!Just plug the dongle into USB extension &/or dongle into a spare USB port & let the computer get on with it for a few moments, my Windows Vista x64 found the right driver for it quite quickly.Whilst the computer is looking for drivers, pull the yellow tab out from the back of the keyboard (there are two AA Duracell batteries already in it) which activates the keyboard & insert the two AA batteries that Logitech supplied into the mouse & switch it on if it's not already switched on.Pop the software CD into the computer, load up the software + maybe a reboot just to complete the setup.BTW There's a new software driver already available if you want to download it from the Logitech website (for me a 26.6Mb download). The keyboard is very light & the key presses virtually silent, maybe a very slight noise but definitely not clicky like a cheap keyboard, the keys are slightly curved, there's one reservation I do have with it & that the markings appear to be stick on letters, so how well these will last compared to the laser etched ones I don't know. There's a small LCD display at the top which shows you battery level, whether the caps lock is on, scroll & number lock is activated or function key is pressed. There's a calculator key on there too, which brings up the Windows calculator & just above that is a small recessed on/off switch. The mouse is nice & compact (it's designed for right handed people) on the bottom is a on/off switch & small battery compartment for you batteries as previously mentioned.Left hand side of the mouse two forward & back keys, on top the normal scroll wheel & a small button. Well I say normal, it's not quite normal, flick it and it will whiz round at a great rate of knots, which is ideal if you have multi-page documents or long web pages, however this is where the small button comes into play, pressing the button stops the high speed scrolling & brings it down to a much more controlled scroll which is very slightly notchy, but makes it a lot easier to control things.Logitech reckon you can get 3 years battery life out of the set of batteries supplied, I wait & see what happens with it.All in all a nice comfy keyboard & for £50 a good buy, especially as it's on sale on the High Street & other online retailers for near double that!

I think its safe to say I've had my fair share of use, I'm writing this review as I'm starting to look for a replacement for this keyboard.I've had this for over 5 years, and I'm finding now the keys don't seem as nice to type with as they used to, just want to point out some things that have stood out for meI can't actually remember if I've had this 5 or 6 years, but its at least 5 years, paid around £80 for it all those years ago, and have never once changed the batteries, for me this is worth it, the mouse is still solid, but the keys on the keyboard just don't seem to have the same spring as they used to, i'm not sure if 5/6 years is a good life for a keyboard? battery on the keyboard is still showing as full!!!I find this quite amazing, the Logitech software last time I used it showed battery life as 90% although I haven't used the software since upgrading to windows 8, and the only thing I ever used it for was to check battery life, at the same time, the mouse was showing 70% battery life, personally i'm not sure what all the complaints are for with the software, I never realised anyone actually used it???? I've only ever installed it to check the battery.Have to say i'm a little disappointed in the key action now, this is the first time I've spent a lot on a keyboard, and I feel it should last longer, but because of the battery life and the extreme comfort when using the mouse I can't give this product less than 5 stars, another thing that impresses me, I can use the computer downstairs on the big living room tv with the receiver still plugged in upstairs, for me that's also a nice touch, I can't imagine many people would of used it in this way but it can come in handy having that kind of range! This is my second wireless keyboard/mouse first was a dodgy rechargeable mouse with a dock that used to last almost a whole day and a keyboard that would last about 3 weeks, I bought this for the claimed battery life not believing it would last and have been pleasantly surprised, in addition in my last place of work (was in this place for 12 months) one of the staff had this set, i'm not sure when they had it but the entire time I was there the batteries were never changed, (I was the IT guy so I would of been the one changing the batteries!)

After around 6+ years of reasonable use my previous Logitech wireless keyboard and mouse finally decided to start misbehaving. This prompted me to start looking for a replacement without spending too much money. after reading quite a few reviews I settled on this model. One concern was that I am running Windows 7 x64. However, after reading some reviews this appeared not to be an issue. Correct! it is not an issue it works first time with no fuss. The keyboard and mouse are both of good build quality. There are a couple of bits on each which feel like they could have been better built but overall the build seems good if not great, like most things today.I suspect this to be a very minor issue though and they should both withstand the normal day to day use. The keyboard is light in weight. The keys are set out differently to my previous keyboard so has taken a short time to get used to but I'm getting there. the keys work well without being over clicky. The additional media keys and functions keys is useful and most can be reprogrammed. One of the reasons for going with this model was the presence of a numlock/capslock indicator which seems to be missing on a few wirelsss models. As my pc sits quite a bit away from my monitor, keyboard etc I am quite happy with the tiny usb wireless adaptor. It is about 1/6 the size of my previous adaptor so can be discreetly placed most places.Using this means that I have had 0 (zero) character drops or mouse issues. The mouse is very comfortable, for me. there are two main buttons, as you would expect, but there are also two more on the left side of the mouse easily accessed by your left thumb. A wheel helps for scrolling etc and also works as a button.I have only used this set for about a week but so far I am happy with my choice. I would be happy to recommend these devices.

I have been using this keyboard and mouse now for about 4 months, for several hours a day, almost daily.I find the action of the keys is very comfortable, not too clicky, but not completely anonymous. I had seen a colleague with one of these in his office, so i had been able to have a "quick type" on it to check if the keys action suited me.I am using windows 7, and the software installed and recognised the hardwre without any issues. I like the size of the receiver, it only protrudes about 5mm from the USB socket and seems umlikely to ever get snagged or snap off. Signal communications seem excellent - I have the receiver plugged into the left side of my monitor and no problems to use the mouseon the right of my keyboard (some systems do have sensitivity issues). There is an on/off power switch easily accessible on each of the mouse and keyboard to preserve battery life. The blurb promises 3 year life - I cant say, but so far it is all lasting well. The mouse is comfortable to use, the cursor action is very positive, the scroll-wheel is a nice addition. I have used the mouse on several different surfaces and had no loss of tracking. The keyboard has two pairs of "legs" at the front, so you can use it flat, or raised up to 2 different angles. It is a nice stable keyboard, and grips the desk well, does not slide around. I find the wrist-rest comfortable. One thing I do miss when comparing this keyboard to other logitech I have used in the past - I used to see a message window pop-up when I engaged "caps-lock". This feature has been discontinued here. But ultimately, ergonomics of mouse and keyboard and whether or not you like them are a very personal thing.I do like this keyboard/mouse and would definitely recommend it.

I bought this Logitech Wireless Desktop MK710 an old keyboard I was using started to playup when the space key refused to move forwards. I admit to being a fan of Logitech as I believe they manufacture good reliable keyboards and mice at reasonable prices. The keyboard and mouse arrived in the time stated and was very well packaged. The large installation set-up sheet is well laid out and easy to understand so in under five minutes I had the keyboard and mouse up and running. I had previously used a Logitech wireless mouse so once I had inserted the supplied wireless USB dongle the keyboard and mouse were both recognized. The Keyboard has a great layout with plenty of useful function keys clearly well marked. There is an on/off power switch easily accessible on each of the mouse and keyboard to preserve battery life. The blurb promises 3 year life so I will just have to wait and see but it's nice to have anyway. The keyboard has two pairs of legs at the rear so you can use it flat, or raised up. I much prefer the raised position as it makes using the wrist rest much more comfortable. I do a lot of typing during the day and this is very important to me. It does not slide about when in use and grips the surface of my desk very well. The keys themselves are very positive and react to what I'd call a normal touch. The space bar is of a good size as is the enter key. I like the controls for the sound as they are on their own adjacent to the battery power indicator. The mouse is comfortable to use and the ergonomics for holding in the hand are perfect. The action of the cursor is very positive and the scroll-wheel works perfectly. All in all an excellent piece of kit that I enjoying using almost every day.

This is by far the best mouse & Keyboard I have ever had.It features brilliant rounded flat square keys that make it different from other keyboards, when typing with this keyboard it is much faster and much easier it is very comfortable with the leather rest along the bottom and you will find that all the essential keys have written words on them rather than symbols like most generic keyboards, this really is an awesome keyboard. The bundle comes with its own software which allows you customize keys as you want them, the program also highlights the location of the key on an image so that you know which key your customizing. The battery life is awesome it is the best, when they said that fair useage the battery life will last about 3 year they wernt kidding ive been using this keyboard and mouse for a while now and sometimes allday, my batteries say they have 657 days its brilliant. Usually by now because of how much I use my computer, I would have replced my battries twice. The mouse is also awesome and makes a great addition to gaming, the mouse is so comfortable and elegant theres pretty much no effort at all, the mouse doesnt scrape scratch or feel like its dragging on the desktop, it feels as if its a miniture hover craft in my hand. This product is well worth what I paid for it all the buttons and features make it brilliant for multimedia and gaming. The only down side to this product is that it has attracted attention to my computer, everyone prefers to use my computer because of my mouse and keyboard. but at least I still get to use it :-).

ordered this keyboard to replace a "freebie" delivered in a bundle with a PC and this is a really nice quality product.arrived next working day - lovely packaging promising 3-year battery life and showing a tiny usb plug-in that is small enough to leave in a laptop if you're using an external keyboard.I immediately worried that this would be a stretch to get signals from desktop to pc on the floor but they've thought of that as there is also a usb extension cable to site the little key on your desk. (It's even shaped to look nice and lie flat)switch off pc, plug in keyboard, switch on pc - machine auto-installs and the mouse and keyboard just work (Windows 7).even the additional "media" keys on the top for volume and mute work straight away without any fiddling - mute being especially useful when the phone rings!keyboard has lovely "soft touch" keys with a long travel but not at all clicky - just really nice feel - a bit like a quality car door when you've stepped out of a cheap one!the mouse is very nice - a good size for a male hand, nicely shaped, and the wheel - which works side to side as well - has a button which switches between fast (and silent) or slower for detail with a nice subtle click as feedbackall in all a really nice quality piece of kit which is so much better than my last keyboard and mouse that I should have bought one ages ago!

I originally went for the Logitech MK 270 combo, but returned that as the keyboard was plasticky and 'clacky', and the mouse cheap and not that great. Given I do a lot of typing I went instead for the MK710. The keyboard is quiet, the keys quite squishy, and the cushioned palm rest a real plus if you spend a long time at a keyboard. (Unlike my previous Logitech keyboard the palm rest is integral, and doesn't clip on.) The mouse for the 710 is Logitech's 'Marathon' version: not top notch, but comfy and the ability to either fast scroll or scroll a few lines at a time is good. (I use this mouse to scroll text using my left hand, and a more ergonomic mouse to navigate as usual.) The set up was instantaneous, with no problems. The keyboard and mouse are meant to last a few years on non-rechargeable batteries, the keyboard displays its battery power, and you can even turn off the mouse and keyboard if you're away for a long time. Why not 5 stars? While very content with the MK710, it's quite a price leap from the 270. And while it's good to have a visible display showing you when the caps are on, it would have been better had it involved an illuminating light on the keyboard: the display at the top of the board is faint at the best of times, and virtually invisible in strong light. Still, looking forward to years of service with ther MK710.

This is the best keyboard/mouse bundle I've used so far. Very responsive and accurate. One of the nice things about this set is that you can turn both mouse and keyboard off if you are planning to leave for some time. This will have a big effect on battery life - up to 3 years? The tiny unifying dongle attaches to a lead and on my set-up, sits just below my screen out of the way.I previously had a couple of DiNovo bluetooth sets and they had all sorts of problems - lag, hangs, disconnecting, poor battery life etc. I also have just stopped using my MX Revolution mouse, which is amazing, but the MK710 mouse does everything that I need it to and I actually prefer it. It's a better size (slightly smaller)but all the buttons you need - page back/forward, scroll all directions, and a neat button to show all windows in Windows 7. And you can programme them for different options. The keyboard has the new round key tops which do look a bit weird to start with but after a very short while, you forget that and realise they do the job better - you don't catch keys so easily. Loads of function keys, a calculator button - it really does offer loads of features for intensive users.I use my set all day at work and I love it. So much so, that I've just ordered another set for home. You will not be disappointed.

I work in IT so use a keyboard all day everyday. My previous wireless keyboard died and I wasn't that fussed with it either. Read the reviews and opted for the MK710. I like my keyboard to be tilted up quite a bit and this keyboard has 2 sets of legs so you can choose from 3 positions (flat, a bit and a lot!). The palm rest is also nice touch. The key mechanism is OK. I come from a mainframe environment where I like big chunky keys with a definite press. This keyboard is a bit softer but that is how most are made this day. The function keys are a little small but have got on OK with them. I love the calculator shortcut button. Something I make a lot of use of.One gripe when I got it is the spacebar.I am a touch typist and the spacebar was regularly not registering the tap I gave it with my thumb to the point I was considering returning the keyboard however a google returned a site where someone else had the same problem and a cure (google "logitech illuminated keyboard spacebar problem fix" and the Flikr entry shows a pic). If you pop the spacebar off and put a bit of card cut to the size of the keyboard square over the and put the key back your problems all go away. Getting the spacebar key back on with the spring bar is a bit of a fiddle so make sure you do it carefully. Hope this helps someone!

I'm not usually one to leave comments/feedback/reviews, but this Logitech keyboard and mouse are most impressive. It took me quite a while to read other reviews before I decided on the product - most of which was positive. They were not wrong! Both the keyboard and mouse worked immediately without the need for reading of any complicated instructions... very simple to 'install'.This is an excellent keyboard - looks good and is really easy to use (once you correct mistakes for the first couple of days, whilst getting used to the new feel/response). The connection works really well, even though the USB transmitter/receiver is a couple of metres away and is in a cupboard (my laptop is docked out of the way in a cupboard)!!But the mouse is not as good IMO.It did work, but it is rather large and is biased against left-handed people in its design. I'm actually right handed, but trained myself to use left hand to keep right free, so it didn't feel natural to use. I suggest left-handed users look at a picture of the mouse design carefully before buying. I already had another smaller, better, Logitech mouse (B605) which docked to the same USB transmitter/receiver, so all was well. The new bought mouse now lives in a cupboard too!I would recommend this product to people, particularly the keyboard. :-)

When I first got it I didn't like the keys at all. Yet here I am two weeks later typing away and it feels as if I have been typing on it for years. I guess you just have to adapt to any new keyboard. Mouse works nice and is comfortable. One issue that you should be aware of - I see people claiming that the device is effective from 10 meters away etc.I didn't find that to be the case. My PC is perhaps 1.5 meters away from the keyboard as the crow flies and due to its positioning the signal would have to travel through the PC casing and a chunk of the mobo etc so perhaps that was blocking it. I found that the mouse sometimes moved a bit stuttery and the keyboard didn't always work properly.I usedthe included extension cable for the transmitter to move it a little closer and with an unobstructed path for the signal and now it works beautifully.I love the soft texture wrist rest on the keyboard but wish the volume control was one of those rolling wheel things rather than buttons but hey that is personal preference.I don't know how to score it though. I am happy and it all works fine. I just think it is a bit over priced. Think of my review as a 4.5 out of 5.For the money I'd expect more buttons on the mouse (would be useful for gaming) and a nice wheel volume controller on the keyboard.

This keyboad and mouse set is of excellent quality. The keyboard keys have a nice travel and are pleasant to type on for an extended period feeling nice and springy. The keys are quite close together with minimal gaps but it certainly isn't coffee proof so standard precautions apply. It has a padded wrist rest, a selection multimedia keys and a small LED status display as well the standard keys and number pad. Its easy to set up with the Logitech receiver, working as soon as its plugged in and has a decent range. The mouse is a good size and fits in the hand of an adult male very comfortably. It is very precise and works on either a desk surface or a mouse mat. As with the keyboard,it is easy to set up and get going. It has two side buttons and a button near the wheel which switches between "clicky" scrolling or free scrolling (and seems to spin for ages!).One small issue is the Logitech receiver is taped to the packaging inside the box and is VERY easy to miss. If you aren't aware it is essential (and thus go hunting for it) it would be easy to toss the packaging without noticing it.
