It's interesting reading other reviewers' opinion of this keyboard, some of which I tend to agree with, even the negative ones in relation to lag, which I do sometimes experience. However, I also have an old and very slow PC at the moment, so sometimes I'm not sure which part of my kit to blame for the lag, as it could even be the computer processor that's a problem, especially since it often coincides with other programmes I'm running having a bit of a hiccup. One just has to be patient and wait for things to catch up, I suppose. (As I'm typing this, the text is appearing instantaneously.) The keyboard lag on its own, in my experience, seems to come after a pause in work. In other words,it's as if the keyboard goes to sleep when you're not using it, and then takes a second or two to realise that we're off again: time to wake up. :-)As an old fashioned professional typist I'm not particularly interested in bells and whistles and gizmos on my keyboard. For those who do use the extra keys, though, there are a few special keys on this keyboard to control play/pause; sound/mute; open web browser; email; calculator; and PC power. So, fairly basic - no unnecessary frills. What I do require is a comfortable, responsive and quick wireless keyboard (I hate wires across my desk) that has good battery life; that the decals don't wear out overnight so you're typing from a blank keyboard (even though I rarely look at the keys) and most of all, there is an indicator to show whether the CAPS LOCK is on or off, especially when filling in forms or passwords and you just can't tell it's on. (I really don't understand manufacturers who cut this corner.) I suppose it is quite a noisy keyboard, but then I trained on manual typewriters many years ago so it's really not that noisy to me, and actually I find it quite a comforting noise in a funny sort of way.So, I've given this keyboard "a good hammering" over the last two years that I've had it. I still find it a very comfortable keyboard to use. After two years, the letter N has almost worn away and the right vertical of the M, but apart from that, all the other letters and numbers are still clear and I really can't fault it. Therefore, I conclude that this a good quality, basic keyboard that really does the job efficiently enough for me, and is really good value; if it were not for the lag issue, I would have awarded it 5 stars. Nevertheless, I would certainly recommend it to anyone who just needs a good, basic keyboard, and would even buy it again myself. (Probably from Amazon next time, now I've tried it!)

I've owned this keyboard for god-knows-how-long, having brought it as a cheap accessory for my laptop. Again, it's very cheap for what it is. I've used it intensely for churning out long essays and gaming, having settled for this rather than a dedicated gaming keyboard. It's incredibly durable, it's been spilled on, tossed about, impregnated with crumbs, but still soldiers on. It's light as well, and fits into a fifteen inch laptop bag, so it can be taken with you. The keys are nice and soft, typing requites very little effort as you glide from one key to another. They aren't that sturdy though, they wiggle around slightly but you'd be hard-pressed (pardon the pun) to break them. The letters haven't rubbed away at all. The multimedia hot-keys are a great addition, making it so much easier to control volume and pause music (those keys being the only ones I use). The rubber feet keep it firmly in place, and there is no give when you type, it doesn't flex and the plastic is sturdy. You don't even notice it's a wireless with virtually no input delay, and I've only ever replaced the batteries once. The plug-and-play Unifying receiver sets you up in seconds and you can easily couple a supported mouse to the same receiver, leaving more USB ports open. This keyboard is amazing value. If you're on a tight budget and need to replace your current one, it's perfect. If you have all the money in the world to spend, settle for this and take yourself out to dinner instead. Or if you need a spare in case your frilly fancy-pants mechanical breaks down, this is the one. Logitech show that there is no compromise of quality at a low price.

Have several of these in the house - the one in the lounge took a swim last night - a hot mug of sweet coffee. Dried it off with some kitchen roll and went to bed. Up this morning and the RFDCXSET keys were stuck - not solid but they needed persuasion. To the kitchen - batteries out and gave the affected side a good swill under the hot tap then the cold. Gave it a shake, batteries back in and it was acting a bit weird. No matter. 15 screws undone and a gentle wiggle with a dibber later, and the guts of the keyboard revealed themselves to the world. You'll find a rubber membrane over a triple layered circuit sheet. This sheet is secured by 2 screws on a metal bar on the tiny circuit board under the power switch area.Don't just rip the circuit sheet out, undo the 2 screws first.I had to dry the water from between the 3 circuit sheets - I used my wifes nice clean tea towel between the sheets - hardly gentle!! I also gave the rubber membrane a little dry off.Gently popped the triple circuit sheet back making sure it was lined up using the many 'pillars' and holes and quietly placed the ribbon under the metal bar, tightened the 2 screws. Membrane over the top and sited on the numerous 'pillars' and small rubber holes. Click the 2 halves of the keyboard together and did up the 15 screws. As you can see - its working great. The 'waterproofing' on this keyboard is pretty decent and with just a little effort if it does take a cuppa to its interior - all is not lost. Just a bit of effort and it'll come back to life!

I actually bought this at a local computer store for around the same price and I am very pleased with it. I have quite a collection of Logitech wireless keyboards and mice and they all have outlasted cheaper makes that I thought were good value. My main keyboard is eleven years old and it's been all over the world with me. Some of the the letters on the most used keys have started to fade a bit but after 11 years I know where to find them. This K270 model is lighter than my old clunker but the layout is the same and the keys are firm and responsive. You can rest your fingers on them without registering a letter and it's easy to know when enough pressure has been used to make your mark. The overallfeel of the keyboard is a bit cheap and light but it is well spaced out and the inclusion of multimedia keys to control things like media player start, stop pause and volume etc is really useful.Simply plug the dongle in a USB slot and turn the device you want to couple off and on and in seconds you get connected. The distance that the keyboard works from the dongle is also very impressive and I estimate at least 25ft. The nice thing is that the keyboard doesn't keep connecting to the dongle and using up the battery if you don't press any keys it goes into standby and Logitech claim up to 24 months use from a fresh set of batteries.I would happily buy another of these if I need to replace this but I'm hoping it has the longevity of my other Logitech devices. Well worth the moeny!

In short: the keyboard is nice. It still doesn't feel as good as one of the simple microsoft keyboards (which is a bit debatable), but I prefer it for other reasons.I use it for programming and I appreciate:* the placement of the 'insert/delete/home/end/pgup/pgdown' keys (that's why I picked this)* the size of the keys: They are normal sized and easy to locate without looking at the keyboard* the full size of the F keys and the escape key* the availability of the print-screen key: This is missing from some other keyboards and it is required in order to do alt-sysrq combinations under Linux* the overall size as it is small /space-saving without having smaller keys* the micro receiverThe only serious drawback is that the keyboard bends a bit at the center when you press keys towards the middle and hits the desk making an annoying noise. This only happens when you keep the keyboard flat (i.e. not when you raise it using the stands). After trying a couple of things I finally solved the problem by placing something underneath the front feet, raising the front side of the keyboard a few millimeters. Finally, I'd really prefer to have leds for num-lock and scroll-lock as well (Come on guys! After all you have available space over there)Update: It's been almost a year now and while I'm using it every single day (for many hours) I didn't have to replace the batteries. I am really impressed by that.

Very few wireless keyboards have media control keys, except using two-key function key control. The K270 is one of the few that have all the extra keys, which was a strong reason for buying this keyboard. It's easy to set up - takes about 10 seconds from opening the box to plug in the USB dongle and then you are away.Unlike the Advent keyboard I replaced, this one never misses a keystroke, which is the main reason I bought a new keyboard. It has a great layout and is easy to use, though the position of the delete/end/home etc. keys are slightly different to what I'm used to.I would have given it 5 stars but for the noisy clacking keys. You would think that the key action was one of the most important design criteria for a keyboard. It seems not. Overall, it's a great keyboard, if you can stand the noise.

Pros:Good price.Arrived quickly.Standard qwerty UK full keyboard design.Just like a normal keyboard except no cables and works perfectly from anywhere in the room. The batteries last so long that you can just forget about them.Has extra buttons for play/pause, mute, sound down, sound up, homepage, email, power and calculator.Cons:It would have been nice to be able to customize the extra buttons, but it's certainly better than not having them at all.I would have liked for the key to be quieter, but most keyboards are this loud anyway. There is a light for Caps Lock, but not for Num Lock. Not really a con since the reason is to keep the battery life long.

The keyboard works as it is supposed to, good travel and plenty of space. My laptop doesn't have a number pad, so this keyboard was purchased specifically for spreadsheet work- however I tend to use it more than the laptop keyboard while sat at my desk now.Two things I would opt for in future would be (I) having backlit keys, and (ii) having a slightly larger keyboard with more space at the bottom to rest my wrists. If you can live with the ergonomic issue, and don't work a lot at night though, this keyboard does the job, and is a good price for what you get. Logitech's universal receiver works with this keyboard, which makes life much easier.

The product compliments my logitech wireless mouse and together work great through a single receiver. The keyboard is great, nice touch when typing, and the pre-programmed keys are very useful. I like the reminder which flashes on screen when the CapsLock is toggled, more intuitive. The footprint of the keyboard is not too big, and therfore space is economised on my small desk. Access to the keyboard settings can be accessed through the control panel in windows. I am very pleased with the keyboard, whic was sent by Amazon in a very quick time.

We needed keyboards that couldn't be 'snooped upon' and these were easily the best value 128bit AES encrypted items I found.Click the On button for an instant, solid connection, the keyboard itself is comfortable to type with, and they look good too. They (apparently) have a 12 month battery life, which is excellent.Only one very minor niggle; they don't have a Num Lock light, so can't tell if the R/H number pad will type 3 or activate a "page down" - however like it won't affect 90% of users, 90% of the time.

Nice neat unit. Bought it because I've already got a mouse with a unified receiver and am short on USB ports. It paired up beautifully. Really like the auto-off feature too because I'm rubbish and remembering to turn it off when I leave.the biggest plus point though is that it's really nice to type on. The keys have a nice amount of travel and enough of a click-feel to give a reassuring feel that the key has been pressed, without being too noisy. I had no trouble instantly typing at full speed.

2.1.2017

Does its job very well, I like how the keys and the unifying compatibility, only time will tell how durable it is, but I have used the wired version at wotk without compaints for about a year now.One remark though - the keys are too easy to pull out - they come off with as much as looking at them, so if your kids like playing around with your keyboards (like my 1yo does) bear in mind that this presents a choking hazard.Overall I don't think anything can beat this product in this price range.

15.10.2013

As a long time of Logitech products I never cease to be amazed at the durability and quality of their products. This is a very simple keyboard (not much in the way of bells and whistles bar some media buttons) but this does not mean it is a bad one. For browsing the internet, playing games, writing essay's it is a great wee keyboard. Very light, sturdy with and excellent battery life and nano receiver to get rid of those cables it is a great desktop or travel keyboard.

It's just the right size for me (your mileage may vary). But here's the answer to what you really want to know. How hungry for batteries is it?Well I bought this back in October (so getting on for 8 months).I've used for a few hours a day ever since.I'm still using the two AAA I first put in it.Also i've never had interference issues with and i used a teknet mouse right next to it, with the two devices dongles plugged into a £1 USB hub next to each other.

My daughter managed to break the little legs off of my old keyboard and I got fed up trying to prop it up to give it a bit of tilt so decided to purchase a replacement.I chose this one because it was a reasonable price, has the number pad and is wireless.Item arrived within given timescales, packed well. Was fairly easy to install (for non techy person) and does the job it needs to do. Would purchase again if needed.
