I bought this keyboard to replace a far more expensive Corsair K70 keyboard that suffered the dreaded repeating key problem that seems to be common with open switch boards (cherry red switches - the problem got so bad that cleaning with the keys pulled off didn't resolve the fault any more). The Logitech G213 is obviously budget when compared to the Corsair and it shows with the quality of the lighting which is quite basic. The G213 board is split into five lighting zones, basically it is five vertical strips equally spaced across the keys which can be customised (per strip) - so for example it is not possible to program the escape key as red with the WSAD keys another colour as they all appear in the same left hand strip. The Corsair on the other hand was fully customisable with any key being allowed to be any colour. (but the G213 is a third of the cost remember). Both keyboards illuminate the letters on the keys whilst the Corsair would also have a hue beneath the key, the Logitech shows no light from anywhere other than the numeral/letter printed on the key.So, what I can say is that as an upgrade to a standard keyboard the G213 is reasonably priced and good value for money. It has some decent eye candy with the illuminated keys that can be programmed with some set routines to pulse with different colours, a breath effect (bright and dim slowly repeating) as well as a nifty screen capture effect where the keyboard mirrors what ever is on the screen (to a basic colour band obviously). The gaming mode will only disable a selection of keys with no other customisation, not even lighting. The Logitech software is very easy to use and far better in some respects than the Corsair equivalent but is limited as to the effects that you produce. As I mention earlier it is a shame that you can't customise the WSAD keys to be different from the surrounding letters. The effects of the colour waves etc are still quite good and do create a interesting lighting, and for the £40 odd quid it is quite acceptable. To use the board, as in typing, is very good with a definite feeling that the key has been pressed. The noise is not too loud in my opinion (nothing light the cherry red's of the Corsair which were like a ratchet clicking noise) and I really like that it is supposedly spill resistant (not tested this up to now so can't comment on this). The feeling of the board is decent quality compared to a standard board, nice finish on everything but it is slightly flimsy when pressing on the top outer bezel which makes distorting the whole board possible with a moderate press. The volume control works well. I preferred the barrel volume of the Corsair but the simple button suffices.Would I buy this board again? For the cost of £42.00 (which is what I paid in 2019), I think it is good value and I would buy it again. What did I like?Logitech brand, for me has always produced some decent gear that seems to last. The quality is good for the price and the software is easy to use. The board is also comfy on the wrists and the keys have good feedback and noise. I've had a fair few bits of Logitech hardware over the years and never really been disappointed. What did I dislike? It is a shame that individual keys can't be customised in colour, the banding arrangement seems a bit limiting with currently no downloads of lighting effects available (but that's down to the lower cost of the board). One point that I can note as well is that the LED for the num lock, caps lock etc is white and seems far brighter than the rest of the board, shame it can't be dimmed to reduce the way it stands out from the rest of the keys.

Any keyboard in our house has to have a bit of a split personality. I use it for typing - quite a lot - and so it has to be comfortable to use for long periods, responsive and well laid out. However, when the kids are around it has to turn into a gaming beast where responsiveness is even more important and where many of the extra features that this keyboard offers come into their own. From a typing point-of-view I find this keyboard super comfortable to use. The legs hold it at a good angle and seem relatively robust - we've had problems before where the legs of a keyboard have broken thanks to the rather less gentle use it gets when I'm not around - but I think that this will stand the test of time in that respect. The keys take very little effort to press and make a nice, (well, I like it anyway), clicking noise. Overall I find it very comfortable for long periods of use.The keyboard got instant kudos from the kids for its LED effects and they enjoyed playing around with it until they settled on a lighting mode that they liked. You might think that this is a little tacky but we've found it useful for using the keyboard at night when we can't be bothered to get up to switch the light on or when the kids are playing and have purposefully left the light off. As well as all the usual function keys that you'll be used to from any keyboard, this keyboard also has video and sound control keys at the top right corner which may prove useful. Certainly I use the sound ones a lot! A feature that we've found really useful that we've never had before with a keyboard is the ability to easily assign functions to the 12 function keys. When you venture into the Logitech Gaming Software that is installed with the keyboard you'll find that you can scan your computer for programs that it recognises and has suggested functionality for. This applies to lots of current games as well as shortcuts for Word, Excel etc amongst many others. You can also use the software to analyse the way that you use the keyboard during a session of gaming, perhaps, and then assign shortcuts based on this and can also freeze out certain keys during game play.Overall we're really pleased with this keyboard and how it performs in both aspects of its life. It's perhaps rather pricey for just a standard keyboard if you use it as I do but it really comes into its own when gaming. The gamers in the household are thrilled with it, having only ever had a bog standard keyboard before.

The keyboard has been absolutely excellent so far, no problems during usage whatsoever - I've even removed all the keys twice to clean it up a bit after usage and had no issues whatsoever putting them back in place. The brand software lets you customise the backlight extensively to suit your taste - including custom colouration, options like breathing light effects or a colour wave progressing in a specified wave. These effects can also be locked to profiles for specified games, allowing you to potentially customise a different backlight setting for your various games - or you can just make one profile and lock it as persistent, which means it will always be active regardless of currently running games. These profiles do seem to have automatic detection for some of the more well known games (Space marine and Dark souls III, as two examples of what it detected for me,) but you can add your own games in the software itself if it misses something as well.It also features other minor bonuses, such as a key press frequency and duration heat map - not a reason to buy this keyboard specifically, but a fun little extra that you may find useful later.Notably it does lack additional re-bindable keys which some other keyboards at this pricepoint do provide, but I would say it provides enough other features that isn't a huge loss - and if you really need those extra buttons, you could always bind them to a gaming mouse anyway, or the F1 through F12 keys on this keyboard. It does include a lights off button for the keyboard lighting, as well as the usual media keys for skip, go back, play/pause and stop, as well as volume up/down + volume mute. Other keys are pretty much all the standard ones you'd expect for the layout.Still a great product, if potentially a bit pricey for what you get - a fair bit of the cost is effectively for the brand software to customise the backlight, so just bear that in mind. Still worth buying if you want a solid reliable keyboard, just make sure it isn't missing anything you want before buying, as for the price point you may be expecting a little more than you get.

I'm a programmer and have had many mechanical keyboards over the past few years, the trouble with mechanicals being the expense, and best will in the world, occasionally accidents happen, having 2 kids, a wife and not being perfect myself the odd spill on my previous mechanical keyboards has eventually killed them and I've been through about 3 or 4 over the past 6 years. In contrast I recall having one of the first generation logitechs with the LCD panel at the top for about 5 years before, like a muppet, I melted the keys trying to wash them in boiling water.I've been using this keyboard for work the past few days, I touch type mainly, coding in php, delphi, mongo, sql, all sorts and the keyboard is FINE,it's not mechanical, but it's just dandy for gaming, coding, typing, I won't be gutted when my son spills something on it because it didn't cost close to £100, but the membrane is soft enough to allow me to type quickly and accurately.I still use my cherry at the office, it's more controlled over there, less chance of it being wrecked - but for here at home in the real world this keyboard is great for me :-)I picked up for £38, I'm not sure I'd be as happy paying £50 because you're very close to mechanicals there, my cherry was only £65.I'm not bothered for the lighting, the kids love it and when it's dark in the room it's handy but I'll never be setting up keys to be different colours! The fixed wrist rest is often complained about however because I tend to have the keyboard resting on my lap as I use it this actually helps with the stability, keyboards with detachable rests would often try and detach themselves as I pick up the keyboard from it's corner with one hand. The OCD in me wants to complain that the stop button isn't round, and that a scrolling volume would be nice but I'm being pickyOverall would recommend, I hope it lasts a long while because there's something quite nice about getting a lot of use out of something reasonably priced.

I've never been able to enjoy mechanical keyboards, but in the gaming world they are the fashion these days, so it's becoming harder to find good non-mechanical keyboards like the G213.Pros:- Very sturdy build.- Key shapes exactly how I like them; long backspace, long right shift, nice chunky L-shaped return.- Worked as soon as I plugged it in (Windows 10).- G HUB software easy to download and install, providing lots of options for backlighting and custom shortcuts.- Decent set of media keys; play/pause, stop, forward, back, volume, mute.- Dedicated gaming key to disable Windows keys when gaming. You can also set additional keys in the G HUB software.- Nice long braided cable.Cons:- Caps/num/scroll lock indicators could be more clearly labelled.Black text on a black background...- No function keys other than the dedicated media keys.- For a non-mechanical keyboard, it's really loud. The noise (particularly from the space bar) is a satisfying clunk, but it's loud enough to upset friends on voice chat.- A bit of a fingerprint magnet. After only a couple of days the key surfaces and wrist rest are quite oily.- Wrist rest not removable or adjustable.- Backlight coverage on individual keys is a bit patchy. Some keys definitely have brighter spots and darker spots. Not enough to make key identification difficult, but a little annoying.Overall, this is a fantastic keyboard for those of us who haven't bought into the mechanical keyboard hype, and for the price I don't think you could ask for much more. The only cons I could find are fairly minor inconveniences for the most part; this keyboard gets all the important stuff right, and it certainly feels sturdy enough to be in use for a long time to come.

The Logitech G213 Prodigy Gaming Keyboard is the best keyboard I have ever seen or purchased. The mechanical switches underneath the keys provide a satisfying click when pressed, and feel both premium and durable. The two adjustable feet underneath it put it at a slant which is very comfortable, especially due to its wrist-rest.The RGB lighting is very bright and can be seen quite prominently in all environments - be it day or night. I like the audio control pannel at the top-right of the keyboard - it is perfect for watching videos or listening to music. However, the main thing that sets this piece of hardware apart from its competitors is its customisation. The software, that can be downloaded from the official Logitech website, can be used on all OS, be it MacOS, Windows 7 (if you must), or Windows 10 (the platform I use it on). When downloaded, it is easy to navigate, and isn't too complex, unlike other software that I have used in the past. You can change the colours, the amount of colours, the type of lighting, and the frequency of the RGB lighting without effort, making it very user-friendly. Or, if you're a bit more of a tech-wiz (unlike me) you can further set tasks for different keys, or disable certain keys when enabling "Game Mode" (Trust me, it's not as complex as it sounds).Overall, a very premium keyboard that looks, feels and is durable and elegant. From both a productivity perspective and a gaming perspective, if you want a solid keyboard from a decent pricepoint - then this is the keyboard for you.I thank you for taking the time to read my review of this product, and I hope that it has helped you come to a decision in your purchase.

When shopping, I had two options; a membrane keyboard or a mechanical keyboard. The only requirements were that it had RGB lighting and a number pad. I decided to go with this keyboard as it was reasonably priced compared to mechanical keyboards that also met the criteria.I love the keyboard. It is much quieter than my older Dell keyboard, which sounded like the stereotypical click-clack keyboard of days gone by. It hasn't failed to recognise a keystroke and it doesn't have a problem keeping up when I'm typing a lot of text. The media controls are useful; it's easy to hit the mute button if needed and the play, stop and seek buttons work with everything I've tried. The LEDs are fairly bright, but not as bright as my partner's Corsair keyboard. There are five LED zones, so the transition between colours is a bit more noticeable than a keyboard with individually addressable LEDs. The software is easy to use. There are a multitude of different lighting effects, such as solid colour, flashing, fading etc, and it can also sample your monitor and attempt to match the colour. This a nice little feature which creates an Ambilight-esque appearance. It feels solidly built. The keyboard is fairly heavy for its size, which suggests that durable materials are used. I have noticed a bit of wear on the space bar already, though I tend to tap it with my nail so I can't really fault the manufacturer for that.In conclusion, if you want a reasonably priced RGB keyboard and don't care if it's not mechanical, buy it. If you're wanting something with individually addressable LEDs and mechanical switches, I'd look at Corsair keyboards.

First impressions: the packaging is pretty good with a thick card box. it looks good and gives confidence in the product inside. It seems commensurate with the price being asked. Once opened up you see a pretty large black keyboard. It has quite a heft to it, and feels pretty solid. It looks really good on the desk. The keyboard is a standard UK layout, with two top rows of function keys, numbers and shift symbols above the letters, and a number pad and arrow keys to the right. The rear of the key board has two feet for slightly tilting it from the horizontal during use.First use: simples. Just plug and play. The unit has a USB connector, I simply plugged into my PC, waited a minute as per the instructions, and hey presto everything worked. The USP of this unit is that the keys are backlight. The illuminations are fully adjustable, you can set colour, which keys to be illuminated, keys illuminating after being pressed or even waves of colour coruscating across the keyboard in a never ending rainbow. The illumination at it's brightest is pretty dazzling, and can be toned down to suit.IN use the keyboard is excellent, with a great mechanical action that makes typing very easy. There is a good firm response to each key, no stickiness, and definitely no ghosting. I have typed this review using it and have found it to be a comfortable experience.

I received this keyboard just yesterday and I must admit, this is the first keyboard I've had in years that I've fallen in love with! My typing speed has increased by a large margin and the feel of the keys feels so nice on the fingers, really awesome feeling keyboard. The gaming button at the top right is kind of cool, but I barely use it as I don't play intense games that would require me to be anywhere near the Windows Key. The layout is good, it's your standard layout and typing on it feels very comfortable, but I will say the wrist rest is a bit small for my hands.Though I love this keyboard, it does have some minor issues such as the Mute Button actually had gotten stuck so I had to disconnect it and reconnect it to my PC,only once I might add, and I had to restart my PC which was annoying and I was worried I had a defective unit. Thankfully, it was a one time thing and never happened again after I had done all that, though I feel the Mute Button could use some work to be less stiff.Overall, it's an amazing keyboard for the price and feels more like a keyboard you'd pay twice the price for!Not forgetting, it's not a Mechanical Key Switch Keyboard but it feels so much like one you could hardly tell the difference!I recommend this is if you're building a gaming set up on a Budget and need an affordable but amazing keyboard!

I am not typically one to write reviews on Amazon, but there are very few reviews detailing whether this great keyboard works well on a mac and I am pleased to say it does. The media buttons work natively perfectly, and you can easily reprogramme the Alt, Ctrl, keys, etc in the Keyboard System Preferences so that you are able to do your native mac commands (for example, having the keyboard recognise the Alt on the keyboard as a cmd)As others have said, the feel on the keyboard is great, it is very responsive, quite clicky. The keys don't quite bottom out like an actual mechanical keyboard but it is extremely satisfying and I find I can get over 90 wpm on it easily. The wrist rest is not removable so if you do not want that you are potentially better off going with the similarly priced Corsair model which I believe has a wrist rest that is removable. That being said, I like the wrist rest and generally find this a great keyboard. As a side note, mac users do not be surprised that the numlock light doesn't light up, it seems macs do not understand this, but the numpad will always be enabled!I have enjoyed gaming with this and doing work on it and would certainly purchase again for an RGB keyboard in this price range!

The photos don't do the RGB lighting justice! I have mine set to bright yellow as I have a yellow themed home office and is hard to pick up on camera (you'll have to download the Logitech software online to have it set to just one colour). This is a great keyboard, I use it for work and gaming. I was a bit skeptical buying it because some of the reviews said that certain keys stopped working for them, but I haven't had any issues so far - I've had the keyboard for 4 months. The integrated palm rest is very comfortable, the keys are spaced nicely and the extra number pad on the side is very handy. I don't mind the loud typing noise, I quite like it actually!Good for controlling music on the right hand side without having to open up the music tab.One noticeable thing was that the photo advertised on Amazon and on the box that the keyboard came in, the enter key is only on one line and wider, but the one I received is a regular two line enter key (which I much prefer anyway!), so no complaints from me.The only other thing is that it's very easy to get grease marks/fingerprints on the keyboard, but not a huge issue as it just needs a quick clean.I would highly recommend this keyboard to anyone.

Without a doubt, this is the best keyboard that I have ever had. The keystroke is positive and the keys are spaced perfectly. The layout is good with the extra function keys actually being useful. The quality of the build materials is high and it feels very solidly built. The USB Cable is 72 inches in length so should be fine for most people. The LED back lighting is just right too, not too bright and not too dull either. However, this leads to the only negative that I have with the keyboard. The necessary software to control the LED lights is not included in the box! The lights still work without it, but it just cycles through each colour over and over. After finding and installing the software,I can now set the LED's to how I want it. Using the software I can also program the extra function keys to perform certain actions too. Why didn't Logitech put a software CD in the box considering it's importance to getting the best use of this keyboard? Crazy! The keyboard loses a star for the lack of software CD but don't let it put you off. The keyboard itself is excellent and otherwise I am very happy with my purchase and I have no qualms recommending it.

People who like the products they buy often don't leave reviews, because they are contented and don't care. But nearly everyone who doesn't like their product writes a negative reviews. Take the 6% of negative reviews: in reality, thats less than 0.5% of people who purchased it, probably much less. Now onto the reviewThis keyboard is lovely to type on. The keys are soft and unlike other keyboards, typing on them requires minimal effort to push down the keys, which have the same resistance all the way down. The colours are lovely, and with logitech gaming software, which is downloadable for free, you can customise the lighting. Gaming mode is very useful, allowing you to deactivate certain keys when gaming that you might press by accident. Its nice to be able to rest your wrists on the actual keyboard, thanks to the front part of it.Overall, it is expensive, but compared to other keyboards, not so much (I got this for £37 on offer (wait for it to drop if you want) and given that its something you use so often its definitely worth it.Only downside? Now I realise what I've been missing all along XD

Good keyboard for gaming. Highly recommended for budget gamers and people who want a decent keyboard that isn't overpriced. It's adjustable and supports game mode which you can toggle keys to be disabled when this is active. Do notice that you need Logitech's gaming software to be able to customise your keyboard and toggle game mode. Also, it comes with media options - stop, play, previous, forward and volume adjustment ( This is on the right of the keyboard) which is useful. The only downside is the RGB is limited - you can't customise individual keys like razer products which is a huge shame and they aren't that bright in the day. Also, the usb seems a bit loose as the keyboard rgb tends to spaz .I'm not sure if it's just me facing this problem, hopefully not. Furthermore, the armrest isn't detachable, which sucks because not everyone needs it. It's nice for a start but it makes the keyboard heavier. I wish Logitech would consider changing their designs in the future. To wrap it up, I can't complain. It is good for its value. If you like cosmetics, consider a keyboard with brighter RGB.

Great keyboard with nice lighting and responsive buttons.Mostly used for gaming but have written reports/essays with it. Very comfortable to use even over longer periods, haven't noticed any straining or aching in my hands. The RGB lighting is very nice and is just the right brightness. Lighting can be customised in Logitech G Hub and can be synced up to other Logitech RGB peripherals that you might have (Syncs up nicely with my G502 spectrum mouse and G935 headset)The only thing I don't like about the G213 is that the buttons aren't the most satisfying to press. Though they are very responsive and work just fine, they feel a little loose. I choose this keyboard as it doesn't have very loud "clicky" buttons, but it just doesn't feel sharp enough. I've still given it 5 stars as this is just my personal opinion and it doesn't affect the performance at all.I think the typing noise is just about right, sounds nice without being a distraction.Overall I am very happy with this keyboard and would definitely recommend it to anyone!
