Let me just start by saying WoW! Not the game... the expression! :P This keyboard is really the absolute DEFINITION OF PERFECTION!But before you tell me "you don't know what you are talking about, razer it's better, bla bla bla", let me tell you all the keyboards that I have owned. For starters, I own currently K70 LUX with MX Speeds and STRAFE RGB with MX Silents. In addition to that, I recently was in the look for other keyboards and purchased/tested the Razer Huntsman Elite and the Roccat Vulcan 120 AIMO, but unfortunately both of them didn't meet my expectation so I returned them. Furthermore, at one point I owned a STRAFE with MX Reds and a Razer Ornata Chroma "Mecha-Membrane" Keyboard. Now,don't get me wrong. All keyboards are nice and have their own good things. However, I will focus specifically on the "bad" things compared to this keyboard which make aaaaall the difference, and that is: rattling or wobbling of the keys, the height of keyboard in general and height of the key.The huntsman elite is an absolute joke when it comes to rattling and key height. I also found it tremendously slow to spam for games fast paced games for example, perhaps because of that little tactile clicky bump (similar to blue switches) it has and this made me realize that I much prefer a linear performance on a switch indeed. It has nice colours and a very confortable wrist rest if you buy elite version but other than that, it was just a no go. The K70 MX Speed is just too sensitive in my opinion for some reason, possibly the fact that your hand must be really "curved" when typing on those super high keys. MX Reds and Silent are "meh" in my opinion. They just have nothing in special. The only possible keyboard I would say is a competitor of this one is the Roccat which also has a low profile. However, that keyboard is odd looking, it also has that little bump (in this case not clicky so similar to Cherry MX brown swithces) which again slows me down, and the wobbling of the keys is indeed much greater than the one I found in this one which is virtually ZERO.Regarding this keyboard, I think it has THE absolute best feeling to type or game (for me) when compared to all of the others. And it is true what some people say that original MX Speeds where quite "sensitive" and you were prawn to making mistakes quite easily, but this is not the case with the low profile MX Speeds. They are AN ABSOLUTE DELIGHT TO TYPE ON!!! Trust me...Now, that's not to say that in addition to that, they do have lower travel distances which mean they are even faster both to actuate (1mm), and to bottom out (3.2mm), in case you are the kind of person that usually bottoms out the key when gaming or typing. This immediately gives you faster typing/gaming, and at the same time, it also gives you a better feeling because of the low profile, which is almost like typing in a laptop, but with a very premium feel to it. Moreover, this keyboard produces a more pleasant and quieter sound to the touch which I also think is an improvement since I want to be able to use this keyboard in my office. Finally, I think that the RGBs on this keyboard stand out more beautifully than any of the other keyboards, particularly Razer ones which I think are quite weak, and the only possible competitor again being the Roccat Vulcan 120 because of its fully exposed keycap. The Corsair logo lighting is just perfect, media keys and other extra buttons are delicious, and although I haven't actually programmed any profile, I can imagine the 8M for onboard profile storage coming handy sometime soon.Overall this keyboard is a must try! You won't regret it. Even if this keyboard were to "fail" me somehow, I would return it and buy it again over and over until I get a good unit. And if for some reason it failed me and had to claim Warranty, I would still give it 4 stars at the very least. I understand that QC issues can happen, but when it comes to rating to overall product that Corsair development team envisioned, I give 10 out of 5 stars, really. Just perfect.I hope this is helpful for you and wish you luck with your decision.

So, whilst I'm waiting for Microsoft Office to install on this PC (rebuilt, ugh the pain of reinstalls), I thought I'd do some typing. And tell you about this keyboard. My phone buzzed to tell me that the Outward RDC now has the keyboard I returned to get this (which was a STRAFE RGB, which I'll compare at the end).To put into context, I am a university student who does politics - so there is a lot of typing. Lecture notes are handled by the MacBook Pro but the essays, research and proposals are all done on my (overkill) rig. This K70 forms part of the rig - and probably part of the reason I go over my word counts (last one is a joke). I do a bit of gaming but most of my time is taken up by the degree.Russell Group student woes. But yes... onto the keyboard! It is a PLEASURE to type on. Seriously, Cherry MX Browns are a dream - nice feel to them, satisfying to type on, not like a 1920's typewriter. They feel amazing. If you're like me and type a lot and use the system for some gaming, get this. Apparently the MX Blues are the best for typing but I can't comment on those. This, however, is a dream. Not TOO clicky but has a really nice sound to it - helped along by that metal base you're basically paying a lot for. It's also RGB. Personally, I'm not into RGB all the things - my backlight is set to white and that's it. Essay mode sees me use the mode on CUE where it illuminates keys that are pressed. That looks nice. The keyboard itself is wow. The keys are shaped perfectly for typing - so so comfortable. The textured space bar is a nice feel and (the main reason I returned the STRAFE) the knurled volume control is a joy. I hate FN keys. Hate hate hate. So, I returned a STRAFE RGB to get this. The STRAFE is a good keyboard, but that ANNOYING FN KEY. I literally used the keyboard for a matter of minutes and was so frustrated by that FN key. Partly, it didn't register correctly most of the time but mostly because it was such a pain (first world problems, I know). The K70 has media controls and a volume control. Perfect. The K70 is also metal. And oh boy does that metal feel good. Keyboard feels much stronger, looks better too. Its noticeable between the two. Sure, its around £30 extra at time of writing (Apr 2017) but so worth it. Getting a mechanical keyboard was a bit of an impulse buy - quite literally decided on my way home in 40mins from Central London to East London on the District line. I really do wish I picked the K70 first though. Its better in every other way too - it SOUNDS better. Much more premium sounding (I have no other words for it). The wrist rest is also coated with a soft feeling rubber thingy compared to hard plastic. Feels better. Finally, the cable is braided on the K70. I have a thing for braided cables so yes. So much yes.Oh look, Office has now installed. Time to hammer out the first part of an essay then. If you type for 95% of your life, want a good feeling, good sounding, solid stylish keyboard, this is for you. In Cherry MX Brown. It's true what they say - when you have a mech keyboard, you really do not feel like going back to anything else. It replaced a Microsoft Deskset 3000. I tried using my old keyboard - it felt horrible.REAL MECH OR NOTHING!(Oh, and usual disclaimer: this is a product for me bought by me. No freebie, no review sample, no nothing. My own pounds and pence went on this keyboard, reaching Amazon through the wonders of a debit card - and its worth every penny!).

Overview: This keyboard is going to be hard to beat. I've tried out similarly priced keyboards (from Razor, steelseries etc) this is definitely the best value for money keyboard you'll find. The quality is unparalled, you couldn't go wrong with this. (Note: The price jump from red backlight to RGB is quite a bit so if you wanted to save some money and aren't bothered about colours the red backlight would be the better option).1. Switches.I got this with Cherry MX Red switches and I do not regret it. I was on the fence whether or not to get the browns or the reds as I play games often, which the browns are suposedly good for, yet I also use my PC for work and need to use Word for several hours at a time. After careful consideration and a trip to my local Curry's PC World to test out the switches (something I would recommend doing before blindly buying) I went with the reds. I find the click from the browns a little annoying and the smoothness of the reds was generally more pleasant.Overall I'd say get the browns if you want to just solely game with them. If you plan to game and do work then the reds are the best all rounder. I've enjoyed gaming with them and haven't had any problems.2. Corsair utility engine. This is what you'll use to customise the colours of the keys etc. So far I've found the UI easy to use with an excellent amount of options. I've also been able to connect my Corsair void pro headphones to the same app, which is nice as it's easy to modify both from one place.3. Additional.I like that this came with the additional key caps for WASD and also EF key caps for gaming. They're really comfortable to use compared to the regular keys.4. Potential problems people may run into.If you accidentally put the keyboard in bios mode the utility engine may not pick it up, so your keyboard will appear to not be connected. I also had an issue where the caps lock, NumLock and scroll lock lights were either not turning on or were flashing. To fix it I used the switch at the top of the keyboard and put it to setting 1, restarted my PC and this seemed to resolve the issue. I still don't know how I put the keyboard in bios mode, this still eludes me but it's fixed now and the keyboard is perfectly fine.

"Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery that mediocrity can pay to greatness" O. WildeIf you look at the HyperX Alloy Elite keyboard, you'll notice how similar it is to this Corsair. And that's just a single example, there are many more to choose this look and features. No wonder, it's just that good.Materials and build are the best that's out there: sturdy aluminium case with nice brushed finish, wrist rest (67mm) with soft touch, dedicated potentiometer for convenient sound level control and media buttons to operate music player without leaving current game or app. All of those placed conveniently and without any risk of misclick. Also on front there is separate Windows lock and lighting buttons, while on the back USB 2.0 socket (my new favourite spot for flash drives) and lighting profiles switch. Do we even need any more buttons and switches than that? Of course not - it's all already there!Inside the keyboard we have top quality Cherry MX Switches, famous for their reliability and lifespan. They operate perfectly, despite what's written throughout the web (Jitter? Where?!) The responsiveness is brilliant: you'll never need to hit a button twice and you'll never receive a doubled reaction after a single press.Each-button-individual backlight instantly reminds that imagination is the only limit: while more complicated ideas can take while to configure, the results are breathtaking: 3 levels of brightness, 16,8 colors and set of predefined settings will switch your desk into a rave party ;) The software is intuitive and doesn't put much strain on the OS.Disadvantages? Only one and not really a big one - the connection cord is quite thick (7,2mm) and ends with two USB 2.0 plugs. So if you plan to move the keyboard a lot, this is something you won't like at all. Otherwise, you won't even notice this as a problem.Summary: near perfect (why no leather on the wrist rest?) RGB keyobard with best switches on the market. The design, materials and performance impress and give you all you need to master your favourite games. Absolutely recommended.

So I made a stupid mistake to not check which switch the cherry mx red switches are. Turns out they're the linear switch with no tactile feedback and a low actuation force. This mistake is not why I gave this keyboard 4 stars (instead of 5). I actually decided to try and get used to the red switches and I have done so, and can conclude that they do make for a decent typing and gaming experience. Overall this keyboard feels high quality and it seems to be worth the £80, considering that many other mechanical back-lit keyboards are £100+.I will however be returning this keyboard because I have one major issue, which is the space bar.The space bar is way too easy to miss-press because of the nature of red switches having no tactile feedback so it is possible to slightly press down the space bar with your thumb resting on it and accidentally register a keystroke. The space bar on this keyboard appears to use a red switch like all of the other keys. However, It is not uncommon for keyboard manufacturers to use stiffer switches on the space bar, such as a cherry mx black switch which feels the same as a red switch but has a greater actuation force. The keys on this keyboard are raised higher than a lot of other mechanical keyboards, as far as I can tell, which contributes to the space bar issue. This can be partially but not entirely remedied by the included wrist rest.It does make for a bit of a lacklustre gaming experience when you randomly press space, which in rainbow six can cause you to vault over balconies/ cover unintentionally straight into the enemy team. This would also reduce accuracy in counter strike. I have developed a habit of lifting my thumbs above space while typing to avoid random spaces, which works well.Overall this is a nice keyboard which I feel like most people won't have an issue with and my issue with the space bar is at least partly due to having come from a lower profile rubber dome keyboard, where I could rest my hand almost flat across the keys, rather than in an arched manner due to the higher profile of this keyboard.

Great keyboard the light system is brilliant and the iCue software works perfectly fine. I didn't find it complicated, there is tons you can do with the software fully customising keys for your requirements or just leave it on the default lighting settings, you can create multiple profiles that all work with each other or specific games and software you choose. If you don't have the software installed it defaults to red keys with WSAD white and arrow keys white. The one thing I will say is I went for this keyboard expecting the keys to be silent or quieter then the norm... they are not... at all! I've purchased some dampener rings which helps, but the loudness is just duller.I went for the corsair based on something I read about the keys being quiet, I quite clearly must have picked the wrong keyboard for silence, so that's on me. The keys are very responsive and don't require to be pushed to the bottom as it says in the description... which may be one of the reasons it's regarded as quiet, but you'd have to press all the keys very slowly in order to achieve that.Overall very happy with what the keyboard does. The shortcut features for media are good and having the roller for the volume is useful. There is a button to switch the brightness of the lights, there are 3 light settings in total ranging from low, medium and high. One more press turns them off. I'm currently typing this in the dark, I can see all the keys perfectly without having to turn on any additional lighting. Great for gaming and ordinary use.Edit: 01/04/2019Been meaning to add this for a little while. Unfortunately after two months the Keyboard stopped working. The lights worked perfectly fine (to an extent), just key presses were undetectable. I exhausted every angle I could to test the keyboard and found it was a failure of the keyboard. Went through the returns process and got a refund after two months. I can't really fault the seller on service with this. I won't drop it in score either, it is what it is. Some things fail and I was dealt with promptly and respectfully.

I've not used this keyboard a great deal yet, but the first thing that strikes you about it when you open the box is the pure build quality! This thing feels absolutely sturdy and 'expensive' from the get-go. It looks really sleek and I love the 'bare metal' feel of not having a top cover over the keys. The feel of the keys is also excellent (and very much a personal preference thing). I went for the Brown keys that give you the fast switching but also some small amount of tactile feedback unlike the Cherry Reds.I expected the keys to be louder than they actually are as I'm a heavy typer, but I was pleasantly surprised that they weren't much louder than my previous keyboard with cheap non-Cherry keys. One thing that will take a while to get used to however (why did they do this?)is that the keys with multiple symbols on have the 'shift' symbol *below* the non-shifted symbol. For example, the '5' key has the '%' below the '5' making it look as if you need to press 'shift' to get a '5'. All other keyboards I have every owned and used are the other way around. There might be a really good reason for this, but it makes you have to really think about some symbols. The worst for me are the '[' and ']' keys. These keys are used with 'shift' to produce '{' and '}' respectively. I used square and curly brackets a lot in programming, but these keys just look 'wrong' with the square brackets above the curly variants. I suppose this is something I'll get used to, but why do this in the first place? One other small downside is that the USB passthrough requires a second USB port on your PC (the keyboard cable has two USB connectors on the end of it). I don't know why the passthrough couldn't have been achieved with a single connector as other keyboards manage. But this is a minor point as I say. It could be a major issue if you are low on spare USB ports however and want to use this feature.Once I've used the keyboard and accompanying software more, I'll update this review. But for now, I'm loving it except for the upside down keys! :)

Ok, so it took a few days to get used to it, I tried the gaming key caps, they were great for gaming, but made any typing at all a complete nightmare... I just had to remove them.. The sharp angles on the gaming key-caps is REALLY not necessary... Add some non slip texture at the most, otherwise it renders the keyboard useless to type on.The keys feel like great quality tbh, I was expecting more wobble in the keys themselves but they feel really rather good... I can feel the pressure increase slightly as I depress more which I was lead to believe wasn't a thing since they are linear...Ok so the kb looks great, fab software but you will need to head to youtube to get some lessons on that...It's initially daunting, takes about 20 mins to get accustomed to how it works, very versatile after though. The plastic wrist rest is tacky in feel... No impact absorption at all, just a piece of plastic a few mil thick, it doesn't feel bad to use, but with such a heavy price I'd have expected something a little better.I think the low travel distance before key activation is actually more of a hindrance than a benefit as it's so easy to send signals without even noticing, the way to make a perfect key for gaming also needs a short travel distance before bottoming out... That imo is more important than an early activation. The total travel distance is decent with this kb at around 3.4mm I believe, but there are others out there that I may try next.I don't regret buy ing the kb, it's pretty good, but you will make a lot of typo's, I've decided not to correct any more in thi s review as I'd already made abotu 20 in the section above... THis is think is key in understanding how good the keyboard is or isn't at reading the keystrokes intended by the uiser. The keys are a little too far apart, and casue issues when combined with the easy activation. And finally, where the hell are the macro keys? Is this a gaming kb? Cos without those, it really isn't...

This is an excellent keyboard, I purchased this from Amazon and had it shipped here to Dubai, United Arab Emirates, and they done a good job on that (I wanted UK layout since I am used to the UK layout, not the US or Arabic layout)I originally wanted the Cherry MX Blues in RGB but it turned out Corsair discontinued the Cherry MX Blues with the RGB lighting, and I really wanted the RGB lighting for my keyboard, and the Cherry MX Browns were the next best alternative, so I went for those instead, and I have not been disappointed :)The keyboard quality is very good, and the RGB lighting is also very good, the keyboard is made from brushed aluminium which matches my Corsair case.I upgraded from a Microsoft membrane keyboard and the Corsair mechanical keyboard is much better in comparison. I was originally going to go for a Razer keyboard as they were slightly cheaper, but they had a cheaper build (plastic) and a cheaper feeling to them, and the Corsair didn't, so I went for the Corsair instead. And the Corsair keyboard came with a wrist rest which is a bonus (The Razer one does not)As soon as you receive the keyboard, download and install the Corsair Cue software, this gives you the ability to customise the RGB lighting on your keyboard, and set different profiles to your keyboard. I am currently using the default Rainbow effect since I like it, but I can change it whenever I want if I so desire with the Cue software.I also typed this review with the Corsair keyboard :)

I have been using this keyboard in a few different styles the past year. From the "Blue" to "Red" switches. This was an upgrade from a very decrepid and almost broken Razer Black widow Stealth 2013.The overall build quality is much better than most mechanical keyboards on the market due to its very resilient back plate and frame less design. Which also makes it much easier to clean than your typical enclosed chassis keyboards. If you have compressed air at hand this process is made ever easier, but if you do not simply remove the key caps and take a vacuum to the surface to remove any crumbs/debris that have been caught while gaming.Since i have two different types of switches my recommendationsare as following:Cherry MX Red for long use in gaming due to the slightly lighter required force to register the key press, this will ultimately reduce figure fatigue in those crucial moments as well as quicker key presses to ensure you're playing as fast as you think you are.Cherry MX Blues however i would suggest for anyone who personally enjoys the clicky sound they give off when pressed. My other suggestion for the use of this keyboard would be people who do game but also spend large periods of time typing essays or reports on the same machine. The blue switches do give a much better typing experience overall.I would however like to see an RGB version of this keyboard WITH Cherry MX Blue switches as i am yet to find one, but i wont deduct marks for this.

This keyboard is a massive upgrade over my previous keyboard and is my very first mechanical keyboard, my old keyboard was a Microsoft sidewinder X4 which was probably the best rubber dome keyboard available, the corsair K70 build quality is excellent and you can tell as soon as you pick up the box with it's weight being very hefty for a keyboard, the keys are printed very clearly and the red LED effect is very bright and clear, i got the cherry MX blue version as i have always loved the clicky sounds of this type of switch and find it relaxing. You also get a set of gamer keycaps for WASD and QWER buttons desinged for FPS and Moba respectively the keyboard has a very thick quality braided cableof which a USB pass through sits right next to it the cable ends in 2 USB ports 1 for the keyboard and lighting and the other for the USB pass through, on the right hand side of the keyboard sits a volume roller and mute button along with a windows lock key and LED brightness setting and underneath sits playback controls for music and video. This keyboard also includes a key cap puller and a wrist wrest of which has a very nice feel to it, bottoms of the keyboard includes 4 feet to stand on as well as rubber feet for they they aren't in use, construction consists of a metal top plate upon which the keys sit but below is very sturdy plastic. All in all an amazing keyboard which makes it obvious to understand why it is so highly rated and was well worth the purchase.

So I bought this keyboard for around £70 I believe (amazon doesn't show the price I bought it at in the order history), and have been using it for the last 2-3 months.Pros: Looks great, Cherry MX grey switches (which I prefer over reds since I play rhythm games often)Cons:1) Media buttons are annoying to press since it feels like I have to reach over the keys near them to not accidentally press them.2) I wish the textured F key also had a bump since they are useful to find the left-hand positioning quickly during gaming. I switched back to the normal ones.UPDATE:3) The keycaps on this SUCK. They feel cheap and slippery as hell, annoying since they are such a core component of the keyboard. It's obvious why they made it like this,so they make you buy their £40 special keycaps which they could've easily added on the default model. Just another way to milk you for as much money as possible. They even changed the keyboard layout away from standard so you can't any other brand keycaps without having to buy some extra keys. Pretty scummy move Corsair. So in all honesty, it's a well-built keyboard with some great features, though if I was to rewind in time, I wouldn't buy it again just because of the hidden inflated price tag. If you want to get a keyboard like the one I got, there are plenty of other quality keyboards with no compromises which are far cheaper than even the price I bought it at.

This is my first mechanical gaming keyboard, I love the feel of the button presses and it is certainly clicky! The keyboard has a good weight to it and has a metal base which makes it feel really premium! The wrist pad that comes with it is really comfy and has a really good grip on it as well. The keyboard almost feels like it is stuck to the desk when you push against it because of the weight and the rubber pads work really well! The lights are cool, there are some effects I wasn't aware of such as the fire effect where the lights simulate a fire behind the keys which is quite nice and somewhat fitting to the season! The cable is nicely placed, it is a really thick sturdy-feeling cable too with two USBs and an audio jack,I believe you only need to plug both USBs in if you want to use the built-in USB port, otherwise you only need to plug in one.The three media buttons on the top right are quite nice, it is a bit weird that they are the only keys that do not have light pass through the patterns on them.My razer synapsis didn't immediately detect the keyboard but that was fixed by uninstalling it and installing a newer version of the software. The wrist pad came with a very small tear in it, it's barely noticeable except to touch as I can feel the bump which is a shame but it is still very nice!Great keyboard and built very well! Feels very durable and would absolutely recommend it!

I absolutely agonised about whether to get the Low Profile Keyboard with White speed keys or Red Keys - In the end I bought both and returned one.I am first and foremost a typist (working as a programmer so speed and accuracy of typing is the most important thing to me). The speed keys are targeted at gamers who need those extra few milliseconds of actuation time. The actuation difference between the two keyboards is 0.2mm. One-fifth of a millimetre, a ridiculously small difference. When it came down to comparing these two keyboards I took several typing tests at thetypingcat.com and compared the results. With the Corsair speed keys I typed 55 WPM with the corsair Red keys I typed at 45 WPM.I repeated the tests several times and each time I got roughly the same results. So the speed keys live up to their name. My accuracy on the speed keys was higher too. Actually it was the mistakes on the red keys that slowed me down. The red keys feel a bit spongier than the speed keys; almost like resistance increases towards the bottom. Might be wrong about that description but I can't think of another way to put it. The speed keys just seem to collapse to the backplate without much force and my typing is faster and more accurate than it has ever been.So there you go, Speed wins - both for typing and for gaming. And its £40 cheaper too.

I bought this to use with my ASUS Rog laptop when I'm actually at home (I travel a lot, hence no desktop for the time being).I've got to say the responsiveness of the Cherry Speed MX switches has actually improved my gameplay in Rainbow Six Siege and Battlefield 1.I swapped out the WASD keys for the textured keys that come as extras with the keyboard (key replacement tool is included) and I can still type emails etc as normal on the keyboard with them fitted. The textured keys are also slightly sloped for ease of finger placement. There are also additional textured Q E F R textured keys, of these I only installed the R for those essential speedy reloads. The RGB lighting of the laptop is controlled by Corsairs CUE software. It's a little clunky to use at first but after watching a few videos on YouTube I got to grips with it. If you want to get the whole system up running fast, I recommend only watching how to import profiles from the Corsair website. There you can download profiles that will get some funky lighting effects running on your system ASAP so you can get back to gaming. Once imported swapping between profiles in CUE is simply a matter of clicking on them. The profiles are all encompassing, I also have Corsair Void Wireless headphones and an M65 mouse. Some of the profiles also affect these.
