There are some difficulties in the Plug and Play driver dowload and allocation. (error code 28 in the Control Panl/GamePad or HID interface...contollers, in driver management which a lot of folk would not know how to access. It took me 4 attempts (3 install and uninstalled plug and play attempts) before realising that.Solution? Pure Blue Sky Thinking even after P & P conecting it 3 times, I had to hold the logitech buttond down until the auto driver install on windows 8 had discovered the Gamepad and completed driver install. The nano receivers are standard as I have lots of Logitech items and pair easily usually, but contain no driver referring in them for a device, like Mouse or trackbal or keyboard or other H.I.D..It must be in X-Mode when linked and when installed the first time too.The product is great, versatile. VERY ROBUST and weighty, Good design and look to it, plus further versatility as a mouse for people who may wish to use it as a kouse and functional controller (id d-mode with the Logitech F710 download from Logitech installed. for an onscreen keyboard, such as a bisble person operation wirelessly etc from a distance with the PC or laptop linked to a Wall mounted 3D massive Tv like our Samsung my son plays games on.4 stars for service and the final working product, would have been five but for the install issues and only being able to solve it with "Blue Sky" thinking appraoch after enough attempts to make most people give up, as well as the fact that unless you can remove a device and uninstall it properly via you driver management console you are stuffed after attempt one, even in a different USB.Works Waaaaaaay better in a USB 2.0 than a USB 3.0 port.Once installed it is simple to connect via a hub if you want but good luck with the install first.Hope this helps someone who encounters any difficulties on windows 8 like we did.Fell free to message me (LAWBARBAZ user: ID) for info if you get in some trouble with your install, I can probably send some screen prints to help you access where you need to go. Or talk you through it at a convenient time :-)or Follow MY install instruction, thus:Batteries in controller. Touch nothing on it.Insert Nano USB Receiver and when windows Plug and Play installation starts, immediately press AND HOLD the LOGITECH Silver button (located on top between "back" & "start" buttons and you'll hear the ping of recognition from your PC. To be safe keep it help down until the PLUG 'n' PLAY install completesTo check it is installed properly click on your Windows Start Menu Icon/Emblem and access printer and devices from the right hand menu, and if successfully installed, you should see your F710 Gamepad listed as a LOGITECH F, check the propertied with very clearly with a correct gamepad icon too, right click it, and choose PROPERTIES then Ensure you are on the first "GENERAL" tab, and in the bottom half it should show driver installed OK. If it says not instaled and an Error Code like 28 then you will need to uninstall the whole thing as you can't just add the driver from there, it WILL NOT update the driver :-(This is my 11 year olds Amazon Account used specifically for his purchases, of games, toys, elctronics and books etc, so I keep my product suggestion and his suggestion on Amazon clearly separated :-)But I have got to say with very strong conviction, and a lot of dismay, that there is NO WAY ON EARTH he would have achieved the woking solution to PLUG & PLAY.................unless you have a VERY TECH SAVVY GEEK?PC WHIZZ of a kid at that age or later even , you'll get the same issues no matter if you take plenty of time to read the instructions as we both did.A simple supplied mini disc of Drivers would solve the issue, then just select the F710 model and it would be sorted in a few minutes instead of about 100 minutes.... :-(Even the packaging on this was disappointing for a Logitech Product as it is a retail plastic hanging shell, and not reusable no matter how careful you are. All other LOGITECH goods I have bought from ANYWHERE have top quality re-usable packaging in the event of upgrade and reselling.Best of luck with any pointers here that helped.KYESTARs DaddyDon't hesitate to ask me if there is something unclear with my relating as clearly as I could, the events from yesterday evening tying to get this up and running for my sons Windows 8 Laptop (very high spec for his gaming useage, so don't think it is a laptop issue as the games all play perfectly now that he used to used th pesky keyboar for.It was a stressful period of time with my son...........especially as it was a 3rd attempt at getting a working one fro his birthday and i thought this high end Logitech would be as simple as described. notwithstanding this it still has 4 stars from me on product matter as opposed to install issues which have (now) not depleted the enjoyment of the F710 gamepad for KYESTAR :-)

Initially I saw this and thought of the XBOX 360 controller, to which it does have a strong though not identical resemblance. It actually feels a lot weightier/substantial and the underside is a lot sleeker in that it doesn't have the blocky square battery block but a nice curved aspect to the battery compartment. The underside of the unit is a nice kind of rubberised plastic which feels great but the silver top doesn't look quite as classy (but that's down to taste I think), but that's not to say it's not solidly built.Comparing it again to the xBox controller (it's the only reference I have as it's the only other controller in the house) I would say holding it isn't quite as comfortable,I have quite big hands and find the more sedate curve of the xbox controller grips more comfortable, but although the Logitech curves downward more aggressively the apex of the curve does provide a nice balancing point when using it.The unit comes with batteries supplied (Duracell ones not some cheapo ones either), it also has a tiny USB dongle and a cable to extend the range by stationing it in a better position in case the signal from the joy pad isn't being picked up. I found it worked fine without the cable.Again plug and play...I'm running Windows 8.1 and had no issues with the drivers loading.I've been testing it on a bit of an odd game for this type of unit, rather than a racing game or basic shoot 'em up I tried it on Fallout : New Vegas. The game has lots of different keystrokes when using a keyboard but the pad catered for them all as far as I could see (unless there is something along the way in the game I haven't had need to do yet). It's really nice playing this and not having to be hunched over the keyboard or balancing it on my lap as I play, so that's a big plus as is the wireless aspect. The remote is very responsive and I can't find much to fault apart from again the comfort issue as I seem to be overreaching a little to access the lb & rb buttons.....also the trigger buttons (rt/lt and rb/lb) do seem a little heavy when using them compared to the xBox controller, but that may be because the unit is new and needs to wear in.All in all if you're heavily into gaming on your PC I'd say this is going to be a godsend for you.

I'll start off plane and simple - The F710 is a high quality, solid controller. I waited a few months before writing this review so I could get to grips with the controller and write a review based on actual use, and although it's still early days, it's held up to the task. The build quality, as expected from Logitech, is very good. No sharp edges, gaps or lose buttons... It feels solid and robust. It uses two AA batteries (mine came equipped with Duracell Plus Power batteries) and they're still going strong. The buttons and analogue sticks are of high quality and are very responsive so being wireless has no effect on playability at all. My only complaint, and it's a small one,is that the triggers could be a bit bigger. I found that my fingers pressed on the bottom edge of the trigger which was a bit uncomfortable after extended use, but after time I got used to it and I don't notice it at all now. On a positive note they offer good resistance, aren't flimsy at all and have enough travel. The analogue sticks are responsive with no dead-zone. The only way you'll have a dead-zone is if the game you're playing has configured one by default. For example, F1 2013 will have a 20% dead-zone on the left analogue stick, which you can change to 0% in the settings and you're good to go.I would say this PC controller is the perfect mix between a ps3 and 360 controller. It's got more bulk than the Dualshock 3 and thus it's a better fit for larger hands, but keeps the symmetrical analogue stick design. There's no sign of the horrendous d-pad buttons the 360 had either, it uses separate buttons for each direction, and they actually work properly. As I mentioned, the triggers offer good resistance unlike Sony's which most felt were a little weak, so its a great all-round design. It's a great addition to your PC!For those games that were designed for a hand-held controller instead of a keyboard/mouse, wheel or joystick, look no further than the F710.

Most people I know use an Xbox 360 pad when playing games on PC. This can, of course, be costly if you require wireless. Having to fork out for the pad and the wireless adaptor needed to run it can cost a fair bit, so it's good to see that Logitech have an alternative solution. The new Logitech F710 Wireless pad is actually built around the stylings of the Playstation Dualshock rather than the Xbox's pad. The two analogue sticks are close together at the bottom of the controller, with the D-pad sitting in pretty much the same place as on Sony's pad. The differences are that the action buttons on the right are labelled and coloured in the same way as they are on the 360 and there are 4 buttons in the centre rather than 2,with a central Logitech logo button in place of the 360's X and Playstation's P button.Taking 2 AA batteries (included), the device certainly feels weighty, though not overly so. The rubberised grips on the sides help your fingers grip and the triggers are well pronounced, sticking out of the bottom of the casing and arching outwards in a wider angle than the 360's.The 2 analogue sticks are firm and respond well, instantly centring when released. Vibration is pretty hefty and certainly lets you know when its working. Only the D-pad seems less functional, offering some nasty sounds and a rather budget feel when pressed.Coming with a tiny USB attachment for your computer or laptop and a longer wire to extend this, should you need it, the wireless signal seems to be fine for gaming. I have read about others having issues with it not picking up the pad, but I've moved all around the study room and even outside the door and it seems to respond to every turn or press.Whether this pad floats your boat will probably be down to whether you are bothered by the extra weight and the placing of the analogue sticks, but Logitech have made a pretty good wireless solution for those on a tighter budget.

Arrives in a hard perspex plastic pack and is quite hard to free from it - almost cut myself a few times. Whatever, a few instructions are given. I suppose it doesn't need much since it's a plug and go item and everybody has seen and likely used an Xbox controller. On that rear it has a switch for Xinput and Dinput. Says leave it on X as D is for older OSes. There's a USB wifi dongle and a USB cable to extend it if needed. I simply used the USB dongle. It uses Windows drivers so just plug it on and go.In use, having inserted the two AA batteries supplied, I tried Grid2 and Formula 1 2013 and both worked as expected - no issues. My only gripes are that the Pad looks cheap but seems quite solid and the 'feel'of it is odd. It's not as comfortable as the Xbox controller. Maybe getting used to it is an issue but I kept pressing the wrong buttons and a some moves for buttons were awkward to do.I hate wires and tend to get caught in them when concentrating on other things. I tried to get a wireless controller for Windows 8 but couldn't. My MS receiver refuses to work. I tried a £10 Chinese device but that failed too. So, this expensive Logitech F710 is the one for me...Note: the USB cable is included to increase the distance between the dongle and any USB 3.0 devices on your PC. It seesm that there can be drop out and/or lag issues caused by USB 3.0. More info on Logitech's site.

This is a typically well-made product from Logitech. Design-wise it's a nice hybrid of a Xbox 360 and PS3 joypad and anyone with either (isn't that everyone?) will feel right at home with this. I plugged the micro USB transmitter in and Windows 7 did the rest; no drivers required installing - just plug and play.In operation it works extremely well. I can't fault it: the analogue sticks are accurate, the buttons and D-pad are responsive and there was no lag or drop-out in signal between the pad and my laptop. It is reassuringly weighty in the hand without being over-heavy and it feels robust. The force-feedback/vibration works well and is the equal, say, of the 360 joypad. It's also a versatile pad in that it has different functionality depending on the type of game you are playing and - while not fully configurable - it allows for some flexibility. So why only four rather than five stars? Well if I could I would gave it a 4.5 but I've shaved half a star off due to the D-pad which feels a little cheap, loose and 'clicky' (although it has to be said it works fine) and the shoulder buttons which again are not *quite* as slick as I would have liked but - these minor quibbles aside - this is an excellent pad that more than holds its own against its Microsoft and Sony rivals.

So I've actually got a 360, a PS3 Dualshock and this controller all on my desk at the moment. Big plus on this is that it is wireless for PC with a nano usb receiver, which is my current main use for it, whilst the receiver for the 360 is quite big and the PS3 one must be connected unless you buy a bluetooth adapter I don't have. The missing star is 1 because it actually feels quite clunky in your hand, and the triggers around the back, whilst not hard to reach, I feel have springs that are way too strong and since they don't have as big an area and freedom of movement as the ps3 or the xbox triggers, actually end up kind of hurting my hand coming from a daily use of the ps3 controller. Also as others say, packaging leaves something to be desired.Aside from this, the controller feels complete, with enough buttons in the middle, has nice storage for the receiver in the battery slot, what I feel is a quality d-pad and about 1mm missing in the radius of the abyx buttons (in my opinion). Analogue sticks are nice, and option to switch between Xinput and DirectInput is also nice. Battery cover slides off nicely too, and I love the material they used for the back. Like I said, only real downside is how clunky it feels around the back to reach to the triggers.

Bought to use with a PC, as a replacement for an XBOX 360 controller. Vastly superior to that; analog sticks have more clearlydelineated movement, buttons have better resistance allowing more graduated movement. Wireless works fine as well, and an extension cable for the wireless adapter is included in case of problems with the signal if plugged directly into the back of the PC.Installation is reasonably straightforward as long as you're aware that the device has a two modes (an XBOX imitation mode, and a proper Logitech mode), controlled by a switch on the device, and when you install the device it will recognise it only as the type of device for its current mode. In other words,if you install the Logitech software but have the device in the recommended X-mode, it will not recognise the device. This is intentional behaviour, but not documented in anything that comes with the device and catches out a lot of people judging from online forums, so worth noting. One star is removed for what is surely the worst blister packaging I have ever encountered. Normally I would say packaging is a one-off experience and not worth a star, but I literally had to use bolt cutters to get into this thing, and that is beyond acceptable as far as I'm concerned.

Great controller the only fall backs on design is ergonomic I find hand gripping controller and pressing RT, LT very hard to do in rapid succession and there is no batterie indicator, though my batteries are still going, used at least 3 hours a day for the past 9 days... Is goodNow on to the programmable software, you have to download from the logitech website, and it is bloody hard to figure out how to use I believe you have to go into my folders /x86, steam, applications then choose game, and for each game you have to create an individual profile for... (I suggest using a USB stick and saving each and every profile u make as backup)The wireless strength is quite pitiful 3M away no obstructions what so ever,as soon as I move my hand in front of the controller, the signal isn't enough becomes unresponsive, come on logitech this is the 21st century and if Microsoft could produce the 360 controller with 10 times the signal strength back before 2006Anyways I would wholeheartedly recommend this controller, just don't expect playing mmorpg games to feel natural like. It takes some to get used too, just waiting on steam'a comtribution with their controller... Here's hoping they allow programming with software like they originally intended (=

Logitech have an excellent reputation which has been earned over the years by delivering high quality ergonomic products that really work - this gamepad is another one of those successes. When games made primarily for the Xbox are transferred onto the PC, a controller makes a big difference (e.g. Assassin's Creed II) - the game can make a lot more sense that way. However, if you prefer the way that a PlayStation controller feels in your hands and prefer using arrow keys to analogue sticks, this controller is ideal. You can easily switch between the function of the analogue stick/arrow pad, using the 'mode' button, but the design of this gamepad makes it a lot more comfortable and natural to use the arrow pad.And when used in this way, the controller really does feel great in your hands - from design to the material used on the underside, it's a delight to hold. The wireless aspect of the controller works great, and it's really helpful to have a button to turn the vibration on/off without having to go through the game's controls menu. Not having a trailing cable is helpful for positioning, set up and put away and freedom when in use. This wireless pad is excellent in response time and in the freedom it gives you. This controller is great!!

The first thing a lot of people will notice is that the design is very simalar to a PS1/PS3(Playstation 1/3) DualshockPS3 Dualshock 3:The bumbers on the F710 are very good and responsive, The do not stick, they're easy to reach and are all around great. The buttons, Y, B, X and A do not stick easily, and can prove to be just as responsive and the bumpers. The D-pad is ok, but not the best. Playing games like Pac Man, it just makes your fingers numb. Both analog sticks are great quality, but the left analog stick seems much harder to reach than any of the Dualshock controllers.Extra functions:As you can see, there are five buttons in the middle of the controller, Start, Back, Mode, Vibrate and Logitech. The logitech button switches the controller on, The start and back buttons are used in games, The mode button changes movement from left analog stick to the D-pad, and the vibration button makes the controller vibrate for a second.I would recommend this controller for playing games on your PC with a controller. If you are used to Sony Dualshocks, then I would hightly recommend it.I give the Logitech Wireless gamepad F710 a 9/10 if you are used to X-box controllers, and a 10/10 if you are used to using any of the Dualshocks.

Bought this for £26 so going to write a review for that price.Okay so this controller was in the moderate price range, more expensive than generic controllers but abit cheaper then official ones. It's build quality was that of a high quality controller, feels very comfortable... a lot of controllers are full plastic but this has a rubber back.Feels very durable which is good if you drop your controller or hit it against things accidently.Buttons feel nice, click right, built in well.A big issue for me was that sometimes this controller responded slow and messed up sometimes. (It comes with some sort of extension usb connector so this might fix this issue...but then it's not really wireless...)Also you need to configure this for games like Skyrim, you don't need to do that for a Xbox controllerHigh quality built controller for a good price but it needs to be configured and sometimes responds weirdly.Recommended for offline games and for those who know how to configure controllers.4/5

Working very good. Using it with Eneloop batteries which holds charge with this device for a long time.I see a lot of people are angry and having issues with the device going to idle and disconnecting. I noticed this too when playing games with big cut-scenes. After some time device goes to idle and analog keys starts acting poorly. But pressing middle "Logitech" button wakes up the device and it operates normally. So after big cut-scenes I just always press middle button before starting to do anything else with other buttons and do not see the problem anymore. This device uses more energy "on paper" comparing to other devices so I guess this feature "going to sleep while idle for some time" helps saving the battery.Device looks solid built, has a nice soft plastic grip. You can operate it in "Direct" mode (program your own keyboard/mouse operations) or in "Xinput" mode (emulating Xbox controller-all supported games recognizes it as Xbox)For the price quality and features are outstanding.

I really like this product however there is a problem with it - for me at least. Be aware that this device is not compatible with Logitech's "unifying" technology so if you plan to use it along with your other Logitech products connected wireless to your PC/laptop/etc through the unifying nano receiver, you won't succeed. You will have to plug in the receiver that came with the controller as well as the unifying one in order to make everything work. It might not be a big deal for other people but for me it is as I have limited USB ports on my laptop.Other than that it's a quality product, Logitech didn't fail to deliver. In the past I've had lots of Logitech - and other - products and I can't complain. The controller has a quality feel to it, the batteries will last for long and the controls are very precise and vibrating is powerful as well.
