♦ Introduction ♦LittleBigPlanet has always been more than just being a platform game; it's a game that allows you to create your own levels and share it with the world.LittleBigPlanet 2 was the one that truly revolutionised the game as it handed down even more powerful tools which allowed people to effectively create their own game within a game. With LittleBigPlanet 3, there are now even more tools, power-ups and 13 more layers to build on!But let's not forgot the adorable Sackboy, who now has three new friends to join him on his new journey: Oddsock (agile dog-like character who can jump off walls) | Toggle (starts big/heavy & can switch to become small/lightweight)| Swoop (ability to fly).LittleBigPlanet 3 is a family friendly game that is enjoyable for ALL ages.♦ Box Contents & Game Information ♦- Inside the case: LBP3 game disc | Instruction leaflet.- Game Information: 1-4 Players (Main Game) | 2-4 Players (Online) | Requires a minimum of 14GB storage space | Supports remote play | Camera & move compatible.- Trophies: 1 Platinum | 6 Gold | 8 Silver | 16 Bronze.♦ Game Experience ♦- Story/Adventure Mode:This is the main game's storyline; throughout this mode you will unlock the new characters to play, new power-ups, costumes, stickers and materials. The story mode overall was actually enjoyable as the levels were fun and very creative, plus there is a lot of re-playability just like the previous games had.The reason for this re-playability is because you have three level achievements to complete:1) Complete the level.2) Ace the level: Basically, you're not allowed to die once! Some levels are challenging enough, never-mind doing it without dying. Oh and the worst part... When you accidentally die near the end of the level, soul destroying.3) Collect all items: This may seem like a simple task however there is a catch; most levels it's impossible to get all the items on the first go. Why? Well, there are areas where you'll need certain power-ups or specific stickers to be granted access; most of these I guarantee you won't have unlocked until completing levels you haven't unlocked yet! There are also some contraptions which require more than just one player to gain the goodies; this will require more controllers and playing with people online.Having the above three tasks to do make's this game very enjoyable indeed.- Adventure Mode Criticism:The storyline itself I can't complain about, nor can I complain about how adorable and cute the characters are, as well as the levels available being genuinely fun to play, however the adventure mode altogether is actually pretty short...In all LittleBigPlanet games the storyline is broken up into different worlds; each world has around 4 or more story levels with optional challenge levels. LittleBigPlanet had eight worlds, LBP2 down to six (though was sufficient enough), LBP3 however only has four!In LBP3 you have the first world that gets the story going, then the next three which unlock the other main characters shortly followed by the end boss level. I felt it was very short lived as they could have easily done another world once all characters were unlocked which could have focused on them all on several levels, not just one...- Game bugs:Throughout the game you may come across several bugs. Within its first week of release it was rather shocking at how many bugs there were; these bugs consisted of your character getting stuck, unnecessarily dying or falling through the level. However the development team have been really good at fixing a lot of these with recent patches and the game will get continuous support to iron these out; just be sure to download the latest patch before playing the game.- Create Mode:Explore your imagination and create it into a level that others can experience for themselves by sharing it with the community. The create mode really is fantastic; there are a whole bunch of tools available (old & new), this in addition to now having 16 layers to build on (up from three) allows you to get super creative! If you're new to the create mode, it may seem daunting, however there are some tutorials in game to help you and there are a tonne of videos made available online from other players. Once you get used to the system, you will realise that the create system is actually extremely simple with a little know-how.Once you've created a level and wish to share it with others, then you'll be able to publish the level from your moon of creativity to your planet so people from all around the world to play.- Community:Basically, this is where you can browse through other peoples own published levels and if you like the level, why not heart and favourite it.There are some levels out there that you would have never imagined would be possible to make; it's these levels (some which are even better than what the developers have made) that make you realise just how powerful the creation tools really are.- Downloadable Content:In the world of LittleBigPlanet there is a vast variety of downloadable content available; these range from extra costumes for your lil Sackboy and other characters as well as new adventures or materials and stickers for your own levels. The extra content already available is pretty impressive and there will be more to come. Just bare in mind that whilst some are free, most will require actual payment to unlock.♦ Final Thoughts ♦If you're planning on fully completing and unlocking everything on adventure mode, and have a main interest in the ability to create and share your own levels as well as play other peoples, then you won't be too disappointed. For those who's main attraction is purely on the story levels, do prepare for some good fun however expect it will be fairly short lived. To put this short, this game was severely let down by the lack of story levels.✔ Pros:✓ Fun to play.✓ Easy controls.✓ Adorable characters.✓ A lot of re-playability.✓ Really nice looking texture graphics.✓ Variety of creative tolls to make your own levels.✖ Cons:✘ Story mode is way too short.

Many feared the switch between Media Molecule and Sumo would spell the end for LittleBigPlanet. It's a series with inherent difficulties, being enhanced many fold. They could have easily chose to leave it's legacy behind and start from scratch. But they stuck it out to create another astonishing piece of work. For a kick off, they've expanded the original 3 playable layers to a massive 16. It's a popular decision that was born from LBP2's 50 Layer Glitch, which creators used to their advantage and created more detailed and visually superior levels. As a result it became a semi-official tool, but with drawbacks...not the case anymore. The player can now move freely between 16 layers. In addition to these new layers is full control of LBP2's Sackbots. You can now manipulate them to run in a top down style (THE Yeti level shows this off superbly), but it doesn't stop there, you can now set your Sackbot to perform an incredible number of animations. Stop, start, mixed and blended anyway you like. Then there's the more advanced Dynamic Thermo, which can be used to make larger levels and save precious resources. It really is a comprehensive set of tools, for making an evermore widening range of creation. It might be a controversial statement, but Sackboy - the beloved icon of LittleBigPlanet - may have been eclipsed by new character Oddsock. Although Sackboy's controls have been improved, Oddsock - a four legged creature - has a precise movement that many people seem to prefer, as well as being faster and has the ability to spring off walls. Personally I like Sackboy for the new range of power ups (which have the crazy ability to be fully customized to make any power up you can think of). Speaking of that, all four face buttons now have their own uses, with the new inclusion of the Sackpocket and Organizatron, again a fully customizable way to equip power ups and track quests. The story mode is the shortest of the 3 games, but easily the best quality. And they've up'd the talent in voice actors, with Hugh Laurie, Nolan North and the ever present Stephen Fry.The biggest disappointment of LBP3 is the reaction for reviewers and fans. They act as if LBP was a series without fault. The reality is different. The nature of this series is that it has many moving parts, and therefore many things that can go wrong, either major or minor, good or bad. Some of this series biggest glitches define many creations in LBP. The aforementioned 50 Layer Glitch was taken by the fans and popularized so much it informed the next game.A game made - in no small part - by the fans and creators of LBP2. It's a game made by the community, broken in by the community and fixed by the community. The recent patch 1.03 seems to have solved many problems and forum threads talking about crashes have now switched to talk about creation methods and levels they are making. And that's what it's all about.

A great game (mostly) but suffers from that most annoying of trends: Multi player only accessibility (in places). I do understand that, for many, the ability to play games cooperatively is a huge draw, but there are very many of us out here that want to sit down and trawl through a platformer on our own, as a way to unwind and disengage from the real world. Don't get me wrong, it is possible to spend hours with LBP3 without having to invite friends, you just can't complete very many of the levels secrets without the involvement of another person. Quite why this has to be, I really don't know, but 1) I am an older gamer (in my fifties) and am way past having friends round to play games. 2)I Only own one controller and am not prepared to spend out another £50 just so I can invite my son to help me beat the game. There's nothing in the trailers or advertising that explain that some levels simply can't be completed without help (although the multi-player coop is mentioned). I really just wish that developers would stop insisting we are permanently online and 'engaging' with other gamers. It can be done - just look at the excellent Rayman Legends.Ah well, if you have lots of friends and they are willing to come over with a second controller and help out, that's great. Or if you want to get involved with the (often incredibly obnoxious and abusive) on-line community then that's fine. If not, be prepared to be disappointed on many levels of this otherwise good game. Also, the over-long cut scene talking from Fry & Laurie is very annoying.

Honest Review by Nomi - The Random Medical StudentI've been playing LittleBigPlanet since it first came out in the PlayStation 3. What a beautiful game it was.The release of LBP 2 was an exciting moment because of the many many new additions to the game. There was new level creator features, meaning much more original content could be made to be played on the community online part of the game. All of this has been included into LBP 3. It is as dexterous and versatile as ever. I'm 22 years old and still really enjoyed the game playing either coop offline with a friend or even online. And hey, I play Call of Duty Black Ops 3 all the time so it's for everyone! If you like any of the following genre: arcade, puzzlers, adventure, action, story, then I recommend you definitely try this at the steal of the price it's currently at. Those looking to get this for your children, it's really well made, with nice characters and playful villains. It could be a little hard getting used to for younger children, say under 8 years old but with some guidance they'll flourish easily. For those new to the title they will absolutely love it, it's a game which is played on a chilled out Sunday or any time when you just feel like relaxing. For those who have played LBP 2, there's a good few new features but don't expect to be wowed from the jump of LBP 1 -> 2 (hence the 4 star rating). But nevertheless, can't go wrong for the price to be honest ^_^

After LittleBigPlanet 2 setting the bar higher than its predecessor I have to admit I was extremely sceptical once this game was announced. LittleBigPlanet 3 exceeds its predecessor both in presentation and technical game play. This time around you get to play as three other characters besides the loveable Sackboy protagonist. Oddsock is a dog-like character who can wall jump and run extremely fast, Toggle is a character who can change big or small to be able to adapt and interact with levers, switches and small areas. Finally we have Swoop, a bird who can fly and grab objects and even other characters. The story mode is incredible compared to previous titles in the trilogy and the addition of 13 more layers giving a grand total of 16 allows more depth in player creation.A story well written for LBP's standards and likeable characters and level themes that had me playing over and over again.

Bought this from gamestop and got it a day early , but this a damn good game! The game is tricky to start but it gets easier , i have little big planet 1 and 2 and this is a massive step by far. With the import feature you can import your old profile from little big planet 1 and 2 and get all of your collectible items and dlc that you have purchased. Great crisp picture on the screen! The abilities of the new characters are amazing and unexpected.Toggle can shrink and then go back to the normal size as he is the tallest character.Swoop can fly and pick up the characters.Oddsock can run up walls and with speed.Better than 1 and 2 put together! Enjoy my fellow sack-boys and girls!Great plot ,Great new dlc.You will not be disappointed!

If you've played either of the two previous installments in the series, you'll know what to expect from LBP3. Full of the same wacky humour, challenging puzzles and lovable characters, LBP3 takes you on a brand new adventure in Bunkum. With an excellent story narrated by the wonderful Stephen Fry, joined by the talented Hugh Laurie, you'll find yourself propelled forwards in order to discover what exciting events will unfold next! If you tire of adventuring, you'll also have a massively expanded creator mode to delve into in order to create your very own levels and puzzles. And if you STILL need more after all that, you'll find hundreds of unique and challenging levels designed by the online community to keep you coming back for more!

Not played very far through the main game yet as my daughters keep getting side-tracked by the wonderful level editor, but we've enjoyed every minute of the experience so far. The DLC costumes were too tempting, and we're currently playing as sack-people versions of Snow White, Rapunzel and Dr. Bunsen Honeydew from the Muppets. The re-spawning mechanic in LBP is just right for playing the game with young children (mine are 5 and 7), and the spooky setting strikes just the right balance between atmosphere and humour. The graphics on the PS4 look gorgeous and there's clearly more content here than the average family can consume. I just wish there were more hours in a weekend to play it.Hats off the the developers for a great sequel!

I bought this for my kids to play. Then I played it and got hooked! The gameplay is fast and frenetic, but really smooth and intuitive. It's just great fun.I have two minor complaints: firstly, the menu system is a little awkward, so sometimes you have to play around before you find the level you were previously playing. Secondly, most levels start with a cut scene that includes an explainer. When you die you have to restart the level... and sit through the cut scene again. This is not necessary and means you just sit there listening to stuff you already know when really you just want to start playing. It's not the end of the world, but it's a basic error which I'm surprised to see.

LittleBigPlanet 3 Is a really fun game, I haven't ran into any glitches or corrupted save files so most glitches will be fixed by now. Toggle, Oddsock and Swoop are really fun to play as with there own unique ability's which change up the game (which is hard to do in a platformer like LBP) The community is where I really enjoy this game its really PS4's way of saying we do have PC games! I have played Five Nights At Freddy's and Prop Hunt on LBP3 and there insanely great and I have had such a laugh just playing prop hunt with my friends! I would say this is essential on PS4 as how much fun it is and its like having a PC on PS4

Beautiful, fun game. ANNOYING BUGS! HOW TO NOT GLITCH THE GAME!!:Okay I have to say my LBP3 experience was frustrated due to a glitch that practically bricks the game. How to fix/avoid the problem (Not being able to progress past the prologue) is to: Insert game and wait for it to install. Start the game and a download will pop up. EXIT out the game and stop it from running. Wait until that download has installed, THEN start the game. Also do not skip any of the cutscenes in to prologue, doing so can lead to the same problem.Otherwise this game is super fun, a few multiplayer problems but super fun!

Now that all of the bugs and crashes have been patched out, this game is quite good. I wouldn't say it's as good as the first 2, mainly because it doesn't seem as fun to play, If anything you will find yourself getting frustrated. The graphics are really good and the addition of the layers and more things to climb on are nice. The new characters are a nice addition and are really fun to play. I've given it 4 stars, 1 star has been knocked off because it's not as fun as the others and the game was released broken which needed 3 patches to work correctly. And why is Sackboy now called Cloth Kid???

2.1.2015

Superb game. It still needs patching for stuff such as DLC and old LBP1 and 2 content to work fully. Importantly the main game itself is very fun and work which is much better than many other games recently (think Driveclub). Nothing to complain about the gameplay its just a great game. There is even greater variety than the last games and the new characters and gadgets open up the game further. The introduction of hubs (think mario games) and better online functionality make this great to play with friends or strangers.Highly recommended. great party/family game.

i am a fan of the little big planet series, and this one did not disappoint, the new features are amazing.I love the new use of different dimensions, it made the game even more dynamic. The different characters also allowed for more special moves e.g the dog can bounce off walls like Mario, and can i just add that the do is the cutest thing ever, the cute outfits also kill me every-time, it looks adorable when it runs, dog fans will love this character. highly recommend for people of all ages.

Bought for the big kid in my life my husband. He has not stopped playing it since I am getting nothing done. The game is great fun and worth playing to collect everything for build mode. My husband loves this part and has spent hours playing around with it. I would say where as the game is great for even younger players the build is more for teens up as it is amazingly comprehensive and the possibilities seem endless. Well worth the money and great service yet again from Amazon.
